Completely disappointed in the outcome of bringing my car to the shop after almost $10,000 in repairs. Although they were able to resolve the issue with the ride airbags and the communication on the main computer, when I picked up my vehicle, there was more issues with the vehicle than when I dropped it off.The AC no longer works, which it was in working condition when I dropped it off.The right height adjustment was working when I brought it to them now it no longer works, the battery continuously dies and I had no issues with it before I dropped it off and I just replace the battery. The interior lights worked before I dropped it off. Now they don't.The vehicle was covered in leaves and more dirty than when I dropped it off. That's something that is completely shocking to me but I guess now I know better. My advice to you is to document/ video your car and it's issues before dropping it off or just take it to a reputable car repair shop. They have no issues charging you for issues that they caused to repair your car.I'm not telling you not to take your car here I'm just telling you to be prepared for whatever the outcome is when you pick up your vehicle. Life if full of disappointments don't let them add to the listBest of luckServices: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto battery maintenance, A/C installation & repair, Auto maintenance, Battery

The first few visits I had a good experience. I really though I was developing a good report with the manager. My 2019 Cayenne developed a trouble light. I was unsure what it was for so i called in and spoke to the manager, Rool? (I forgot his name) I expressed to him I wanted to be very sure he can handle the repair. He said he would get with his technician and let me know. The next day he called me and said they can handle it. We brought the car to him a day or so later. That afternoon he called me and said they could not fix the trouble code that they did not have the software. I was disappointed, but I figured I would have to wait for an appointment at the dealer. It's my daughters car now and she went to pick it up after she got off work. She called me upset because German Auto charged her $180+ (I need to get her to look back at the charge). I immediately called the manager, whom I have had great experience with previous maintenance; oil change and such. He immediately got defensive with me. Gave me the lecture about if he does not get paid his staff does not get paid. I explained to him that is not my issue or the issue at hand. The issue is that he reassured me they could handle the repair when I called ahead of the appointment to specifically verify that. He went on to explain his technician has time in to it and must get paid. He also explained to me that when you go see a doctor he has to get paid for his time. I did not see the correlation here and was unaware he had PHD's turning wrenches in his shop. He refused to agree that he verified that he could do the repair and I agreed to do the service with him based on that information. He finally said he would talk to the owner and get back with me. I asked why he had to argue with me for 15 minutes instead of just starting out with that. I was extremely frustrated.I explained to him that I own a large service based business with over 100 employees. I would never charge my clients for similar situation. I would not have many clients left if I charged my clients every time something went wrong on a job. Our policy in my company is that we win together and lose together with our customers. We understand that we make mistakes or that sometimes matters are out of our control and we have to make it right to preserve our customer loyalty. The previous owner of German Auto, Tommy was that sort of owner. The new owner should pay more close attention to his customer base and manage his manager a bit better with some customer service training.I have made an appointment with Porsche NOLA. I have to wait 2 months, but they treat me like I am their only client when I go there. They treat my wife like she is a queen there, lol. I wont mind paying a premium for that service now, looking in the rear view mirror.

I bought my audi q3 to German repair in Harvey because I needed a oil change but also because my engine light was on. When the guy called me to pick my car up he said that I had a engine problem and that I should just get a new car. Which blew my mind cause I didn't have any other problems with my car. He suggested I bring it to audi new Orleans which I did and turned out I only had a oil leak and once I got my oil changed the engine light went off.

I drive a $64k Mercedes and the guy that came out to look at my car acted as if I'd stolen it. RUDE and not one offering the initiative to have my car repaired there! My car is 10 years old but you'd think it was an old Pinto the way the representative talked to Me! Good bye!

I took my 2007 VW beetle here to get it repaired because the car completely stopped. It took 2 MONTHS (of my car being in the shop) for me to figure out that they weren t going to fix it. After calling them to get updates and reports on my car they told me it was a process of elimination and it might take awhile. They have not fixed it to this day not to mention my rear drivers side taillight is broken(the plastic cover is shattered). And my battery cover is inside of the car and not where it belongs I m currently getting it fixed somewhere else, that is more trustable and quick. Tbh this place is probably a half-job repair shop that scams people for their money. I wish I could give zero stars since they did zero work on my car. I m not saying to not go there but i m very unhappy with my experience with them and heavily influence you to go elsewhere.

Chuck, Arnie & Reynaldo... along with other employees & staff make for a WONDERFUL TEAM in my humble opinion. My check engine light came on. My normal mechanic was out of pocket, I m sure due to COVID-19, the Lord ordered my steps and I made it to German Auto Repair. I guess this will be my new normal (when I have to have repairs made that is )I called the shop, Chuck answered the call, he addressed my concerns & provide all the information I needed to make an informed decision regarding upcoming repairs. I called back and spoke with Arnie about 10 minutes later after I altered my plans for the next day to include drop-off of my vehicle.I pulled up the next day, today, May 20th, at 7:20a for repairs. Reynaldo greeted me and fielded my issues regarding my car. He did a thorough intake and advised he would clue Chuck in when he arrived. The turn-around time was great; I don t like being without my car!!! I got a B service & another repair all by 3p!!! Boy I was excited. And happy to be back rolling. You have the option of having your diagnostic fee applied to repairs should you have them done at the repair shop.Chuck was thorough in detailing the problems with my vehicle and the associated costs. HELLO this is how vehicle repairs should be!!!!!I found cost to be in-line with other foreign vehicle repair shops.Only downfall for me, but not really a downfall, is the location. It s on the Westbank, which proves a little difficult for me to get dropped off or picked up; BUT NEXT TIME, I ll just cross the street & catch a couple movies until my vehicle is done!!!I am saving the shop s information for future repairs and if others need MB, BMW or other foreign car vehicle repairs, I ll be sure to let them know about German Auto Repair.

Prices are higher than giraffe ears! An average high end mechanic makes around $50/per hour. They charge over triple of that! Thieves in the 1st degree! Never again!

My car was having strange electrical problems, and the battery wouldn't hold a charge. Although I had had the battery tested at three parts stores over a period of a couple of weeks, and all three said the battery was fine, GAR was confident it was the battery -- and they were right.

This place came by recommendation. Unfortunately I feel as they walked all over me due to me being a young female. When I called to get an update on when my car would be finish the man was passive and rude.

I brought My Mercedes to a dealership(I won't mention the name) on March 31,2023. I was told on April 24,2023 (almost a month later) my bill would be 2,598.00 for the repairs. Thank God, I did my research on German Auto Repair! I called German Auto Repair on, April, 24,2023 to let the manager, Mr. Smith know I was bringing my vehicle to them. After 1 week, on May 1st, 2023, I receive a call.... the work was COMPLETED!!!! If there were more stars I'd hit them all!! The staff tells the truth, they honor their promises, they're transparent and they are responsive!!!! Oh, and my bill was under 350.00!!!If you have a German vehicle, I strongly suggest you bring it to German Auto Repair.... Especially if you want, honesty, integrity, professionalism and exceptional mechanics(and staff). I give them 100% rating!!Services: A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

So disappointed in this establishment. They tried to scammed me . I have a Mercedes and I ve been here a few times for maintenance. I was told that I needed new brake pads and new rotors on the front and back after only asking for breaks pads. I allowed them to do the back breaks only. I paid $800 plus , Then a few months later I went back for a service and was informed that I still needed to get my back breaks replaced, but they wanted $900 plus for the front brake so I decided to go to the Mercedes dealership for repair instead.. I arrived to service department at the Mercedes dealership just to find out that my front breaks were perfectly fine . They took my tires and checked the front and back to be sure . I called German Auto repair and they completely lied to me and tried to cover it up by saying they claimed I needed new tires .. which are brand new . Very very very nice people!!! I just found it more financially responsible to take my Mercedes and trade it in being that it was nine years old and that it would have cost too much money to fix. The AC went out and the Mercedes dealership wanted $7,300 to fix the issue, the other German Mercedes Auto garage wanted $6000 and German Auto Repair wanted just $3800. Although they had the lowest price, I eventually just traded in my nine year old Mercedes, which was hard to do because it was paid off and in amazing condition, other than the air conditioner. I took a hit on the trade-in value of only $2000, which was better than I expected and figured that would be the best way to go. Other than that, the owner of German Auto repair was beyond understanding The owner was beyond helpful and knowledgeable. He explained everything in detail to me and did not have me wait for hours and hours to diagnose the problem. He knows his stuff and he does not charge nearly $200 like the Mercedes dealership does or the other Mercedes auto shops in an area that is approximately 15 miles away. Thank you, German Auto Repair, for your insight, and honesty. Keep up the great work and you ll be in business forever!

My husband recommended that I bring my Mercedes-Benz C350 to have the B Service done. I was told how much it would cost and was pleasantly surprised how unbelievably reasonable it was. I dropped it at 7:30 AM and it was ready by lunchtime The office staff was friendly. I was impressed with how nice the space was to say it was an automobile service business, it was clean. The car drove nice and the lights that were are on were no longer on. I usually take my car the Mercedes-Benz dealer or another foreign car service center but I must say I was impressed. I highly recommend. I planned to write a post on social and share with my family & friends.Service: General repairs & maintenance

German Auto Repair did not disappoint! I called to make an appointment for a "Service B" on my 2019 Mercedes. The man whom I spoke to on the phone was very polite and let me know that the next available appointment would be on the following Wednesday. Since this was not an urgent matter, I let him know that Wednesday would work for me. Once Wednesday came around, I dropped my car off at German Auto Care. The lobby was very clean and everyone was practicing social distancing; you were directed to stand at least 6ft away from the counter. I was told that it would be a few hours and they would let me know when my vehicle was ready. I received a phone call a few hours after dropping my car off letting me know that my car was ready. I went into the lobby, paid in cash and was given a document with all of the inspections that were done to my vehicle. The price that was given to me did not change and I was able to pay in cash. A few days later, I received a text message from German Auto Repair asking how my car was doing and asking if there was anything else I needed at this time. This level of customer service does not exist anymore! I was really surprised and appreciated German Auto Repair reaching out to me. I will definitely be using them for all of my vehicle needs from here on out! Highly recommend!

There are few mechanic shops that put time and effort and present themselves professionally and on a personal basis. That is the vibe I have received from German Auto Repair. It begins with the person towing my car from the house. He was cordial and constantly in contact with me in regards to picking up my car. And even gave me a personal call to tell me that my car has arrived at the shop. And yes that will be the first that you will ever see a tow person actively given you their time of flight and making sure everything is going smoothly. That's not the only caveat to German Auto repair. I can not say anything less but great things about Chuck and Ernie. Very understanding, patience and willing to work around your needs. I have done business with another European import shop before in Harahan and it is almost night and day. German Auto repair is more prompt and responsive and cordial. The more important issue was they fix my car issue in an instant. Although there pricing maybe just a hairline more than some other places but you get excellent work , a peace of mind and honest work from German Auto Repair. Thanks for all your work and taking care of my car.

The crew @ German Auto were incredible! When we first arrived we were skeptical! Then, we met Mr.Chuck he offered us the highest customer satisfaction ! He comforted us about my wife's new 2014 Mercedes GL450. At first, I was hesitant about buying a Mercedes because of its expensive maintenance requirements. After visiting German Auto Repair, i am confident that they will be able to keep up with any future maintenance for the right price and the right service!

PSA announcement to everyone who owns a German car stop taking your car to the dealership and take it to German Auto instead. My Mercedes SUV was randomly not starting for no apparent rhyme or reason. Thought it was the battery but there were no other symptoms of a battery issue. My lights were coming on, no clicking noises when you turn the key, etc. Had AAA come out and test the battery and try to jump the car turns out it wasn t the battery. Then I thought maybe it could be the alternator wasn t that. After consulting with a few friends who know more about cars than I do myself, I figured it was probably a starter issue but wanting to bring it to the dealership to confirm. Turns out, it was in fact a starter issue. Now, from what I understand, the part itself for this kind of work is on the more expensive side, but the job itself is not difficult and does not take a whole lot of time. So for the dealership to give an estimate upwards of $1,400 (which they did) is a little absurd. To put it into perspective I am an attorney and my hourly rate for legal services isn t nearly that high.Long story short, the dealership (Mercedes-Benz of New Orleans) was trying to charge me THREE TIMES the amount that Chuck quoted me at German Auto. And he had it done THE SAME DAY.Based on my experience, I am never bringing my car to the dealership again, and I recommend that you don t either. German Auto was honest with me and efficient, plus they have an awesome office cat if you re into that.

My Mercedes wouldn't start and I had it towed to German Auto. The guys checked and it was noted that the battery was dead. Chuck called and told me the problem and the solution was done. I also had my service codes done there as well. It was a great experience. I can only testify for my experiences with German Auto and they are sound and reliable, regardless of other reviews.

I had my car towed to German Auto Repair after it over heated, and the anti-freeze reservoir was empty. I picked up my car several days later after paying approximately $1200 for the repairs. 20 min later my car over heated. German Auto Repair was closed for the weekend. I checked the reservoir, and it was absolutely empty. I pored one gallon of antifreeze into the reservoir. It was obvious that no repairs were made. I brought it back and reported the issue. The owner stated that he'd check for any leaks. Later he reported that his mechanics completed a pressure test, and found no leaks or issues. I later took my BMW to PEAK BMW. They immediately tested and showed me the leaks from my upper and lower radiator hoses. I then realized that German Auto Repair did not repair anything, and they basically stole my money. My advice to customers: Pay the extra money to get your diagnostic test done at a certified BMW dealership. If you decide to use German Auto Repair for the actual repair, do not show them the report from BMW. Give them a fair opportunity to provide truthful and honest service. If they don't, please take a moment to report your story. If I had informative ratings to guide me prior to my experience, I would have gone else where.

These guys destroyed the interior of my car. I gave these people possession of an expensive 650i and i got it back with the dashboard ruined and and the leather on my doors coming off. The reasons they said was we told you the car was ready so I guess that gave them permission to treat my vehicle any kind of way killing my resale value. I would never trust these guys againService: General repairs & maintenance

Your vehicle will be in wonderful hands if you entrust in German Auto Repair to handle the repairs or service your needing. Chuck was more than accommodating from the moment I called him with the issues concerning my BMW 3 series. I had some extensive suspension damage, tire/wheel damage and other things going on. Chuck was very honest and straight forward with me on everything. From having my vehicle towed from another shop to his, to patiently waiting on insurance hang ups, Chuck and Reul were professional and helpful in every way.As far as the repairs, everything went perfectly. I have no issues what so ever. My car runsbeautifully. I put my full trust in whatever is done by the mechanics at GAR because you can clearly see the integrity behind the people who work here.I truly can t thank them enough for being so helpful.

I have an older car and while it is still in good shape, parts fail. I took my car in for a light replacement but the technician determined that there was another reason for this part not working. The part was ordered and replaced and all is well. Nice people and a nice facility. I am very happy with their work.

Mr. Chuck or Ruel called to keep me updated on the progress. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and very courteous. The price quoted for the service performed was half of what BWM Dealership wanted to charge.. Even though I didn t have a clue to what they were talking about they took the time to call and speak to my son. Thanks for calling me to see how my car is performing. I would recommend German Auto Repair to my family and friends..
