We want to take time as a business but also as RV Enthusiast to let everyone know a little hidden secret back home. This jewel of a location is smack dab between New Orleans and Baton Rouge snuggle right in the heart of St. James Parish. Being a native to that area makes me feel really good to know that Mark Anderson and all of his staff have considerably gone over beyond from Hurricane Ida to regular stays....we can only say is top notch service. Let's not forget to mention the awesome food at the Crevast Restaurant. If you are looking for nice rental from our family to yours please do not hesitate to call us and/ or book a stay through RV Share.Mark continue to build a legacy with this campground and we look forward to continuing to camp close to home in another wonderful ground.Jason & Chasity BlandCypress Mitigation & Restoration, LLCTrinity Outdoors Disabled Adventures, LLC

We have been staying at Poche RV park for about 6 months now. Overall, the people are nice and they are fixing the areas that need repair. The biggest issue is the washroom. There are only 2 washers that work out of 6 or 7, the dryers are ridiculous. There are also 6 or 7 of those, only 4 "work". I wash 2 loads and split into 4 dryers, only 1 dryer actually dries, the others you have to run 2-3 times. And theyre not free. So it takes 4-5 hrs to wash 2 loads of clothes. Will have to go to a laundromat, very frustrating. Other than that, it's quiet and friendly.

We stayed here for about 3 months and LOVED every minute of it! It was so peaceful and quiet. The staff was so friendly and amazing that I truly enjoyed talking to them inside of the restaurant. We did try the restaurant and being a native of the area, the food would have been better if it hadn t been frozen but was still enjoyable. The workers and owner spent everyday we were there working to make the park even more beautiful! The pool area was always kept up and had a beautiful display of flowers all around to make you feel right at home. Definitely stop by and check them out!

We fell in love with this site. We've stayed for 2 months. It's a perfect location, located right in the middle of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. They have a swimming pool, hot tub, washing facilities and showers. Great amenities. The staff is friendly and the owner is funny. The restaurant on site serves delicious food some real home cooking. The sites have concrete pads and our level.

I am rating this at 4 stars because everything at my camp site other than cable worked as expected. The camp ground as a whole needs some TLC in the worst way. I was told that it was damage from hurricane Ida 2 years ago. The first site they gave me was a mud hole that buried one side of my trailer. They then gave me a nice site with a concrete pad. Fences are falling down, trees have been cut off half way up and left.

Went there on very short notice for memorial day weekend with family and friends. The grounds were well kept and clean with level level pads and great water pressure. Pool and hot tub areas were clean and staff even though everything was over the phone right now because of the Corona was nice and helpful. Hopefully when our group goes back we can tour the plantation home.

The owner Mark Anderson was very helpful and Debbie Jones who handles the day to day run of the place was amazing. Mark bought this property to save it and he is constantly working to make it his vision. the restaurant on site called the Crevasse has great food at very good prices. Cajun cooking at its best so thank Drew for that he is your chef. I stayed a month and never had to worry about anything. Very quiet and beautiful. close to New Orleans and Baton Rouge and other places. This park handles big rigs like Prevost and more. I will be back.

We came here by accident and it was the best blessing! The grounds are beautiful and the rich history of this land is amazing. The owners have really tried to preserve the history. the main home is stunning and we found out you can actually stay overnight in the plantation home! Not many places offer this. The people are friendly and will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Debbie is amazing at her job and makes sure all customers are well taken care of. There is a restaurant on the ground called the Crevasse. This features down home Cajun food. The hamburgers are almost a pound a piece! I really felt at home here and would highly recommend this place to anyone with a family and children or old couples. Pets are welcome. Cement slabs for the rv s and wonderful hookups with lighting. Pull through for big rigs.

So far so good. The place has damage from previous storm so I m taking that into account with this review. That being said I don t understand as to why the site would charge tax of over 50 dollars if you are paying via card and no tax for cash payments. Doesn t seem legal to me but idk. The hot tub is pretty nasty and in need of cleaning, a lot of the entertainment room items such as the pool table, air hockey, arcade games, don t function as they should. The laundry mat only accepts quarters and there isn t any coin machines anywhere on property. With all this being said the gentleman that takes care of the place was very helpful with getting my camper into place and informing me of the items on site and to the location of them. Not a bad place but I was promised a full concrete pad and I paid for one but when I arrived all the concrete pads had been taken. The manager stated that after the holiday season he would gladly assist me in moving my camper to a concrete pad. After driving around The site I noticed a few open full concrete pads but when I mentioned them to him I was told that they were reserved for other visitors who were coming short term. WiFi worked great for the first week now it s off and on alot. All in all I would stay here over some other places in the nearby area that cram people into small parking spots and hardly enough room to open slides, this site has large parking spots fully shaded by trees.

Very nice place to get away. But still in great location to visit the plantation's in the area. Support staff was very nice. One gentleman filled our cooler full of ice for us! We were able to get a tour of the big house by the owner, beautiful place. Restaurant has good southern comfort food .If you are looking for a quiet no fuss getaway, this would be a good place ! And water pressure for the RV was great!

This is an awesome place. The RV Sites are clean, level and the hookups are in great condition and maintained well. The food is just what I expected and was a great value. Mark is a wonderful host and went out of his way to help when my bicycle rack broke in the French Quarter. Highly recommended.

They did not respond to the web reservation form so I called. I had to call several times to get a response which was text me your dates . So I did and didn t get a response until I followed up. When We arrived the property was not at all as described in some reviews. Muddy roads and sites, trailer park vibes, it was not welcoming or nice at all. There was no one to check us in or make sure we got a site. We left and drove 3 hours to stay somewhere else.

If you're looking for quiet but not too far from New Orleans this is the place. The roads are gravel but the pads are concrete. It's kept up nicely especially with the amount of rain we had while we were there. The pool is clean. There's a game room. There's a laundry room with plenty of washers and dryers but no place convenient for change. (We ended up using a laundromat in Gonzales that was fantastic! I have a review here for them too.) It makes doing laundry difficult these days when you have to look for change elsewhere. Most places we've been don't want to give us quarters including banks when they realize we're not from the area. That's a "covid issue" and a new one for us.We also noticed when we pulled in there's no dedicated office. We were told we could reach the manager by text. Not the best situation especially if we had questions about the area or something minor. They also have an on-site restaurant called Crevasse. The chef is incredible!! The food is outstanding and flavorful and definitely unexpected at a campground. When we learned they were opening the weekend we pulled in we realized that it would be perfect for takeout burgers...or so we thought. They burgers, steak, pasta...all of it was completely unexpected. We were expecting more of a campground store menu with frozen pizza. Boy were we wrote! If you're planning a stay at the campground, please save a night out for dinner here. You won't be disappointed! And you can order a takeout if you want to take it back to your campsite. Enjoy a glass of wine or a beer while you're waiting! We had a great time here. The area is loaded with history. There's plenty of tours in the area even without venturing into New Orleans. (Look at Groupon!) The concrete pads kept the rig clean. And with all the rain while we were there they still managed to keep the water out! (That, in itself, was impressive!)

We were excited to come down and get away from covid and the big city for a weekend trip. Total dump. It was like staying in a trailer park. Don t waste your money/vacation. I wish I d taken pics of how rundown it was. The pictures they advertise are incredibly deceiving. My friends and I wouldn t recommend this place and definitely won t ever be returning. I never personally met the owner, but check out how he responds to people criticizing the place on Facebook. It s insane. ZERO stars.

LOVED IT!!! The owner is not professional at all but who cares!!! It's a beautiful park nobody bothers you, the pool is super clean, the times that we've been to the pool it's just us!! Everybody is so polite! !!! The restrooms and showers are clean, most of the time! The laundry room is clean!!!! Other than the owner everything is excellent I really recommended this RV park you wont regret it!!!..... Ok I'm saying about the owner for the other reviews but with us, he was really attentive and polite! He was always working like any other worker trying to better the place! He has really good recommendation for restaurants and attractions!! I recommend this place 1000%

Well well well, I was a little apprehensive about staying here with some of the bad reviews, but as it turns out they couldn't be further from the truth. The grounds were so peaceful, and the staff was so helpful. I was hooked up to the 30amp breaker and it kept throwing the breaker, summer time and the ac running constantly, and they brought me a 50amp pigtail to use so I wouldn't have a problem. I was on a concrete pad and had enough pad in front of my camper I didnt need my rug. The salt water pool was great to relax in as well as the hot tub. The grounds has a laundromat, a game room/ house that had enough to entertain the whole family. We were able to sneak in a tour of the plantations home that was amazing. It was a personal tour with just my family and the grounds manager that knew a good bit of the history of the house and the grounds.

I got together with a group of friends at Poche Plantation RV Park over the weekend. I was greatly surprised by this experience because I didnt expect to be treated this way nor did I expect the amenities there. People were polite and helpful. They made sure we had what we needed throughout our stay. The food was delicious! The bathrooms and showers were clean! Overall it was just aawesome and I could recommend this place to anyone.

The Plantation House was beautiful and interesting even though we didn't get to schedule an official tour. Once the restaurant is open and they catch up on maintenance of the pool/spa area, it will deserve 5 stars. This place deserves a gift shop like the one over at Laura Plantation.

We did not even end up staying here. I called on several occasions to see availability and the first time he did not return my phone call. Another time he asked me to call him back in an hour. Then he said come on in and look. They would have to put us up at "Sugar Hill" which is 7 miles down the road and consists of a place to pull in your Camper and Park. Not appealing. We went on up to the Plantation and the pictures were nothing like what it looked like. The pool looked black around it. The grounds were not lush like the pictures. The plantation home its self looked like it could use a pressure washer or Good paint job. The pictures were nothing like the actual place. My children thought the place was kind of creepy and when you could see the graveyard that was in the field with in walking distance away, They were having no part of it either. We were disappointed in both locations. I would not take a chance on this one for long term stay.

We stayed a week in MH. We anticipated a beautiful plantation but it was not. Pool was green, piles of brush and leaves all over. It was full of transient workers, trucks coming and going. Has great potential but was really disappointed. The price was cheap but really not a destination I would recommend- I could say more but why bother.

the campground is needing some TLC. the fences are in disrepair, but the sites are level. the pool was clean and inviting, however they advertised a restaurant but it was closed and looked as if it would not reopen. we had difficulty finding office manager on site. all things considered it was worth the money to be centrally located to plantations

A different kind of park that is being worked on. The big house tour by Howard was wonderful. Most sites are large with flat concrete pads, our area was in need of some sort of stable area for table and chairs as it was uneven bricks. The wifi was the best of any park I've been to. About an hour to New Orleans and closer to Baton Rouge, good shopping in Gonzales. A restaurant is due to open soon which would be good as there is nothing real close. Get a spot away from the full time workers as the diesel pickups fire up around five thirty in the morning.
