Took my son here after a terrible experience at Firestone. Fixed car with no charge and assured me that he would take care of my son like a Godparent. Highly recommend you patronize this shop. Wonderful people!!!

Our pickup started overheating really bad while we were crossing the bridge, and we decided to pull off after we (luckily) got over the bridge and just pull into the first place we could find. To our relief, the place we pulled into was Highland Terrace. They were a Godsend! Professional and extremely personable, they were able to get us fixed up and back on the road within a couple of hours! Can't express enough my appreciation and gratitude for these people!

Alan was such a great help. Our car experienced trouble on the way to Baton Rouge from Houston. He worked with us to get our vehicle repaired in an expedited manner. Every parent with a student at Southern or LSU should send their kids there. Honest and reliable service at its best!

Mr. Woodrow and Alan are dedicated to the service of their customers. They will never attempt to sell you anything you don't need or try to entice you to get any work done that you don't need done. They charge a fair price and if you become a regular it's almost like seeing old friends, doesn't even feel like a work order. They only do cash, no cards, but it is worth it. They are open early before time to go to work and they close right a little bit after most people get off work. If they can't help you, they know someone who can!Services: Auto battery replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Body & Trim, Engine repair, Brakes, Oil change

Truly great experience with Woodrow & Alan! They helped us out big time by replacing our radiator after it blew out on the bridge. They were so generous to stay late the day after Christmas to make sure we could get back home to NOLA that night. Reminds you how good people can be!

Woody and Allen at Highland Terrace Mechanic Shop are honest, experienced mechanics. They do quality work and don't take advantage of their customers. Their prices are very reasonable and they stand by their work. Woody and Allen decent hard-working men who appreciate and value their customers. How is it that Woody ( the father) never ages?

These guys are the best. They are honest and super hard working. I've been going to them for years and they always go above and beyond to take care of my cars! I was traveling through town on I-10 when the rear struts on my honda element had enough. Checked google and saw the great reviews so gave them a call and they said they could get me in if I could get the struts. A local auto parts store had the struts, so I got them and headed to the shop.When I got there I was greeted by friendly people! They had me pull my element right in, and even worked around all of the stuff in the back that I was carrying. They worked quite happily even though one of the bolts was extremely difficult, and did a great job.Not only that, but the price was fair!!!I also asked them to check my ball joints in the front and they did and said they were fine. They could have simply told me they had some wiggle and needed replacing and I would have done it. But they were honest with me.Honest, good work, great price, and super good natured!5 Stars.Thank you Gentlemen.

Great and Affordable! They allow you to bring your own parts for their professional installation and they only charge you for the labor. We brought our pads and rotors and came early. They immediately acknowledged us and were done with the front brakes in 20-30 minutes. We were only charged $45 for the labor! Best mechanic in town!

Alan was truly a godsend! On my way to the hospital, I ran over something on the bridge that split my tire open. I pulled over in their parking lot to call my husband1 that s when Alan came out and offered to change my tire. His smile and friendliness immediately put me at ease. He was very professional and quickly had me back on the road in about 15 minutes. He even offered words of encouragement, which I m sure he could tell were very much needed at the time. There s no way I could ever repay his kindnesses. He truly was my saving grace on an otherwise very stressful morning!

I must share this: I came to pick up my vehicle after repairs were completed, I returned and to my surprise my vehicle was washed and cleaned! Best mechanic experience I've ever had! Alan worked on my car 2 hours past closing to make sure I had a car for the night. Truly cares about his service and is passionate about cars so he is honest and fair. Ended up talking to him the whole time he fixed my far and was one of the nicest/coolest guys I've met in a long time. Definitely recommend you coming here for your mechanic needs. Alan... if you're reading this... remember my radio show on Monday at 11pm!

The men working here, namely Alex, definitely are honest and respectable men.During my travels, my truck overheated and I was able to exit the highway and pulled into the lot of Highland Terrace. Once my vehicle cooled, I required a jump. Alex was very courteous and willing to assist us and when my vehicle would not start, still, he went the extra mile to charge the battery.He, nor the older gentleman, was not pushy or deceitful, as many mechanics I've encountered have been in the past, especially with my being a woman. He could have easily advised that there was something more going on, causing my vehicle not to start... But that's not the case.I would trust these men to repair my vehicle, if ever needed.

This place is THE BEST, MOST HONEST AND MOST FRIENDLY automotive service provider in all of Louisiana! They (Woodrow and his son Allen) treat you like family and your car as if it were their own. Great, quick, reliable and inexpensive service! They have been the only mechanics to touch my family's cars for over 20 years and are important and cherished members of our family.

The best auto service I have ever gotten. All I got was a simple oil change, but it was amazing. I actually needed to get the change because of a clog and I was fully informed of what the issue was, what occurs with the related parts, and how to avoid this issue for future reference. No nonsense or lies to get money out of me because of the fact that I'm a female or in general, which is hard to come by nowadays. The service was very quick (and efficient), a great price, and I received very nice hospitality. The workers are very genuine and if I have any further issues I will be coming back here. Don't let the appearance alter your perspective.

I have been going to this shop since I was a toddler in a carseat. The service is excellent. Woodrow is a man of kindness and integrity. HONESTY IS JIS ONLY POLICY. I was pretty suspicious of the 5/5 star reviews this guy has but I went and had my car window regulator replaced by this guy and I'm pretty satisfied with the price and service I received.Note: Though he could probably find parts for you, it would be a whole lot easier if you brought your own parts.Honestly, I would probably give him 4 stars because he forgot to tighten my door handle bolt, but it's no big deal and my guy was so friendly he deserves a courtesy star.

Wow....Talk about customer service. Alan Jones helped my family and I big time. Driving from Texas to Florida our car broke down in Baton Rouge and we were lucky enough to break down right in front of his shop. Alan treated my wife and I like family. He immediately told me what was wrong with our car and said he would take care of it and sure enough he did. Alan made sure my wife and I along with 2 dogs were able to get to a hotel safely (it was getting late) He was extremely nice and made us both feel at home. The guy is a mechanical genius! Positive mindset. Very welcoming place to go get your vehicle looked at. If I lived in Baton Rouge I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else!

They did an incredible job fixing my car. The service was better than anywhere I've ever been and they did the repair at a lower price than anywhere else would've. Will definitely be back if I need any other work on my car!

Highland Terrace in owned and staffed by good honest people. I had my brake pads replaced, and they saved me over $300 by having me buy the brake pads from an auto store and bring them with me. They were very cheap to install and the mechanics were very quick. The staff is very friendly and professional

Pros: They are friendly. You can bring your own part and they charge the labor.Cons: They are not doing all jobs. Once they told me they could not replace my oxygen sensor. I had a problem with the CV boot and without checking and without even looking at the boot the owner told me to replace whole CV joint part. I got the boot repaired by another mechanic which was 1/4 of the price he quoted.

Alan really is a nice and honest guy, and he is a perfessional, realible mechanic. I have been his store twice. He treated me as his good friend and fixed my car quickly and professionally. Alan and Mr. Woody are extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful. They provide a wonderful service to the community of BR. They are truly HONEST MECHANICS, which, as I'm sure you're aware of, is very difficult to find these days. I more than highly recommend these gentlemen to you.
