Gave me a free inspection and figured out that it wasn't even a transmission issue at all. He (the owner named Mitch) then took me for a ride together to explain the issue in detail so I could explain it better to the next place I would take it to be worked on. He also suggested a few places that he knew of that would be able to resolve the issue. Though I didn't end up getting service done by them, I will definitely come back here in the future simply because of the honesty and extra mile that he took when he really didn't need to.

Took my F-150 in for a transmission issue. I understood it needed a new transmission and I understood that this would probably be the situation after discussing the issue with other transmission shops. Took 3 weeks to get the new transmission in and 2 weeks to do the work. Cost was $9,000.00. Took the truck home and the next morning it had a puddle of transmission fluid under the truck. I got under the truck and noticed that the leek was coming from the new transmission and that they had left the skid plates off. I call Mitch the same day and brought the truck back to him. Took him 2 weeks to take a look at it. He said it was just residual transmission fluid from the repair and that the skid plates where not on the truck when he received it. Neither of these statements were true. When I drove the truck home it began smoking so bad that cars following me had to slow down or pass me. Called Mitch the next day and brought the truck back to his shop. He stated that he needed to change parts that he saw in a Ford tech notice. He changed one of the three parts and said he had to order two more. 2 months later, after countless calls and excuses for not having the truck fixed, I had Mitch lock the keys in the truck with the parts so I could pick up the truck and finish the work myself. After I got the truck home, I looked under the truck and found a loose bolt and the fluid level access was only hand tight. I checked the fluid level and they had overfilled the transmission. So overall my truck was gone for nearly 4 months, it cost me $9000.00 and I ultimately had to complete the transmission replacement myself. I could not be more dissatisfied with their performance.

I wanted to bring to your attention an issue I have been facing with regards to the repair of my truck at your establishment. I want to start by saying that I understand that delays and unforeseen circumstances can happen, and I would like to address this matter in a constructive and inspiring manner. It has now been six months since I entrusted my vehicle to your service for a transmission replacement. I was under the impression that this repair would take a maximum of two weeks. However, I have been met with excuse after excuse and a lack of communication regarding the status of my vehicle. This situation has caused significant inconvenience and financial strain for both my wife and me. As a resident of Baton Rouge, I commute to work in New Orleans, and the expenses of renting a vehicle for such an extended period of time have added additional stress to our lives. Furthermore, the prolonged period that my truck has been sitting idle raises concerns of potential additional issues developing, which could have been avoided with prompt action.I paid for the transmission replacement when I dropped off my vehicle. However, I am apprehensive about paying the full price for the service when the lack of communication and extensive delays have made it difficult for me to trust that the work has been carried out as planned. Many other stores and shops exist that specialize in the sale and repair of transmissions, and they are able to complete these repairs in a timely and orderly manner, satisfying customers without subjecting them to further inconveniences. I fail to understand why it is taking so long to address my vehicle when there are seemingly more efficient alternatives available.I kindly request that you provide regular updates, at least once a month, to keep me informed about the progress of the repair. Open and transparent communication will help alleviate concerns and enable me to plan accordingly. While I have outlined my frustrations and concerns, I believe that this matter can be resolved successfully and inspire positive change within your establishment. I hope that we can find a solution that not only minimizes the financial burden on my end but also ensures that others do not face the same difficulties that I have encountered.I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing from you soon.

My truck was towed in to get the transmission rebuilt. Talked to Mitch beforehand about it and was assured they could handle it quickly. Also asked if they could change the radiator while they had it, was told that wouldn't be a problem. After 4 days, I called just to check the progress and was told the parts wouldn't be in for another 5-6 days. 2 months later I finally get my truck back. 2 days later it started acting funny, popped the hood and it looked like Pepto was sprayed everywhere. The radiator they put in cracked and mixed antifreeze and transmission fluid together. Brought it back and was told they would change the radiator, flush everything and fix it. A week later, get it back again. They didn't change the radiator, which should've been under warranty IF it was brand new like they said and charged me for. Instead the bypassed it and put a tiny external cooler on and bolted it to my A/C condenser. Drive it for a few days and the transmission temp keeps shooting up over 200, so I drive it back AGAIN. Was told, very rudely by Mitch that he can't look at it unless I leave it for a few days. I ended up going through corporate and being told to take it to a different AAMCO. They informed me that since he put the cooler on, they couldn't take it off and fix it the correct way because of the bolts through the condenser. So they added another external cooler because what Mitchs team did put on, wouldn't even come close to cooling a truck the size of mine. Total of 7 months of truck issues, causing me not only to pay him almost $3000, but also having to rent a vehicle this long because of his shoddy work. I've seen other people claim how friendly and great they were, they obviously are biased towards certain people because that was NOT the type of person I dealt with.Service: Transmission

I've had my truck back for 2 weeks after having work done there. I found Mitch to be professional and courteous. He worked seamlessly with my warranty company, kept me informed, and completed the repairs quickly. My truck runs like out just came off the lot. I'm more than satisfied.

My experience was great. I spoke with a guy named Mitch and he was very nice and answered all my questions and he was very upfront and honest and also kept my fiance and I updated with our vehicle. I had choose AAMCO after having my vehicle at Acadiana Transmission and dealing with poor customer service and a rude employee. Our vehicle had transmission issues and we brought it in on Monday and picked it up today Wed. it was very quick and the truck is running like it is brand new. I would refer anyone here my grandfather uses them and now my mom has choose to start using them. Thank you Mitch for everything!!

My car was making a funny noise when I made sharp turns so I called Aamco to see about them taking a look. I had never used them before but they are close to my office and I was concerned about driving too far should there be a serious problem with the steering. Mitch answered when I called, was very helpful and animated in trying to describe the sound I was hearing and offered to take a look at it for no charge. I had never heard of a car care business inspecting problems at no charge so I agreed right away. Once I arrived service was efficient and prompt. Mitch assured me that they would try their hardest to fix it that day and if not he would have my car back to be by that evening. He called a few hours later to say that the power steering fluid was a little low but other than that they were hearing no noises and couldn't find a problem. In addition he offered to give it a second look the following week should the problem persist. Well it didn't persist. It completely stopped, and it had been happening for months. He must have added some power steering fluid but he never charged me for it and my car is running great. I would recommend Aamco to anyone and I will definitely be using them in the future.

Very impressed with this place so far! Mr. Mitch is super friendly, always patient with my calls, very willing to answer any and all questions, and super accommodating with our time frame and working with our warranty company! Our client payment responsibility was a bit higher than I was expecting/hoping for, being that the part is covered under warranty, but if the repair is done thoroughly and efficiently, I suppose I cant complain!

This is the first review I've ever written. I had such terrible customer service, I felt the need to warn future customers. They had my car for 5 days and did not look at it, but the bigger issue was how rude Mitch (the owner/operator!!!) was to me over the phone. My story is similar to another review in that he never called me to tell me what was going on. I called at the end of business on Monday to make sure I dropped my key off in the right spot and inquired about the timeline. He said that if they didn't look at it on Monday, they would by Tuesday. This did not happen and when I called again on Thursday at the close of business, they still had not looked at my vehicle and he refused to tell me when they would be able too since he missed the Tuesday timeframe. He then went on to tell me to come get my car, that they did not have the time. I picked my car up the next day and will never do business with Mitch again. Mitch was rude in his tone and not helpful. I suspect Mitch is great based on the other reviews if he has the time to look at your vehicle so ASK their turn around time. If he is stressed, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. His track record of being rude and not keeping customers in the loop seems to occur multiple times on this review list. He has forever lost my business.

I was led to believe by the local VW dealership service parts employee that this was the best place to go, as a newly purchased used VW beetle 2007 was slipping from 2nd to 3rd gear in automatic, but in manual shift worked smoothly. When I spoke to Mitch was led to believe this was a Christian businessman of honor. In Good faith my husband and I brought our vehicle on Good Friday 2019 at lunchtime to AAMCO to be analyzed for free then given a quote as stated per Mr Mitch. I was told that it would be the following Monday before it would be able to be seen about and a full report of detail would be able to be given via phone. Also, I was told it did not sound like a big issue but rather something caught in a timely manner and was good it hadn t been abused and driven to become a serious problem. You see, initially this vehicle was purchased to go to one of my grandchildren. Forward to Monday after Good Friday. Approx 9:30 am I and my husband and l both had received phone calls from AAMCO by Mitch to give us the news:1-3568.81$. used Trans:2-4078.09$. rebuild Trans 18 mon warranty:3-4339.89$. rebuild Trans 3 year 50,000warranty4-6753.27$. New Trans from VW 12 month 12,000 mile warranty:Well, I told him that I would make a choice. I called my husband at his job, toldHim what was said and asked him to come with me to make this choice once again. We walked into the shop and I did not want to leave the car nor take a loan to fix a second hand car that is unnecessary to have at this point. I prayed for wisdom on our way there. I simply asked if he could put whatever back in the order he received it in to analyze and we would be on our way. Oh, there was a 736$ Plus charge to completely remove and disassemble The entire transmission that my husband who in his spare time is a racecar driver asked to see in several hundred pieces and parts I was told. The Mechanic was rude to my husband smarted off about his very own Corvette to my husband and tried to not return an undercarriage belonging to the VW, rolling his eyes as my husband walked away. Now I am told we needed to wait to get our vehicle back in order so that we can drive it home again as it was very drivable it just slipped between second and third gear and automatic but once again shifted smoothly in manual drive . The rest of Monday went without recourse or our car, then Tuesday went without recourse or our car, then finally Wednesday my husband was able to go get the car from AAmco. What comes next I cannot witness as I was working and my husband had to go get it and could not drive it beyond the 3 miles to his own place of employment because I am told the gears and car we re knocking so badly that as he was on the telephone being followed by a fellow employee who could hear knocking and banging asking was asked if something had fallen from the car . Upon my husband calling and asking the owner Mitch about the car not even being able to be driven whatsoever now having to be towed beyond a 3 mile limit because the RPMs are in the 5000 s at 10 miles an hour, I am told Mitch replied you cannot expect to get something broken back fixed completely well . I implore whoever is reading this review to make your own conclusions as I have made mine and will pursue the Better Business Bureau beyond this review I am writing as of today have a blessed day .Lori Lane Monceret Woodward, Mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt,Registered NurseBaton Rouge GeneralBaton Rouge Louisiana

48 days to do a job that most shops will do in under a week. My truck was there for a warranty issue from another aamco so the original shop was sending these guys the parts (overnight shipping) after 3 days of Mitch telling me that they still dont have the part I called the original aamco and had them track it only to find out they had received it the next day (Mitch was stalling for time I guess) liar! I really needed my truck back before xmas so I could go back home to Arizona and was assured when I dropped it of on December 5th that it would be. I finally got my truck back yesterday (January 24th) and waited in the lobby for almost an hour for them to finish working on it even then on the 48th day. I would call every couple of days to check on it only to be whined at about all the issue's Mitch was having from being to busy to not having time to call and find out why they haven't gotten a part yet because they are doing shop software upgrades.I will be elevating this issue to Aamco corporate (I expect no results)Be warned.... I wouldn't return to this store on a bet.UPDATE 28 Jan.The starter FELL OUT of the truck! They had it out and could not manage to tighten 3 freaking bolts!

After my transmission went out in my trailblazer I brought my truck to a total of 4 shops to get it fixed ..... After three months of being without my vehicle Mitch at Aamco transmission did what no one else could ... He fixed my truck and it only cost me $100.00 where everyone else did not want to be bothered with my extended warranty. I am now back on the road and my truck is running better then ever.... Thank you Mitch for the wonderful service....

Great service by Mitch and his extreamly skilled technicians. Mitch was able to locate my vehicles problem and fix it right the first time. The Dealership charged me thousands and couldn't ever seem to get my vehicle right. Hats off to Mitch and his crew. THANK YOU!!!

Brought my Jeep in for a free check when engine light came one dealing with transmission. Came back to pick it up and Mitch told me the estimate was wrong because he didn't know I was a veteran. It would be lower than quoted on phone. Good businessman, very honest about the work and how soon it actually had to be done.

This place was HORRIBLE!!! The guy Mitch will tell you he will call you back with updates only to NEVER call you. I had to call him and he would tell me his "mechanic" has not finished the complete diagnostic test yet. ALL LIES!!! They kept my car for an entire week just to tell me NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. I told them there is a leak coming from my vehicle. Mitch states "oh you didn't tell us that" Umm I know I told you that was my one of my main concerns. You can't help but see the leak when it sits. So his "mechanic" tells him oh yeah, there is a leak it's the power steering. So after getting no where with them and out of my vehicle for a week for no reason, I took the car back to the dealer and demanded them to fix it. The dealer found a TRANSMISSION LEAK and A/C condensor needed to be replace. They kept my car for another week but luckily I was given a rental. I didn't like the place upon arrival, it's old, dirty, and creepy looking, but the dealer I purchased the vehicle from sent me to this HORRIBLE place. Mitch is VERY RUDE and I told him that in a nice way. Long story short enter at your own risk. You will be lied to so they can joy ride in your vehicle and tell you there is nothing wrong with it a week later.

Sigh. Chose them to rebuild my ford ranger after it lost overdrive. I didn't want another transmission put in it, and they were the only reasonably close option for the truck to be towed to.8 weeks later, I get my truck back, it was like pulling teeth to get any info on it during the process. There were parts that delayed it's completion and it would have been nice to have that info communicated to me.Had it back (1) day and it had the same problems. Slight tweaks to it and told to run it, and when I asked what tweaks they couldn't explain it to me.Back again a couple days later (happens a couple more times) Same exact problem. Pushed harder on why this was occuring and come to find out they made the call to use a rebuilt part that I specifically asked to be replaced. that was the entire problem.Almost three weeks later I get my truck back..again. wasn't a high priority because it was warranty work.Eventually I got it back, and it finally behaved correctly... 3 months to complete a rebuild that should have taken a couple weeks, tops.

So my girlfriend had three cars fixed here. One of them was a 2005 Chevy Impala. The repair was a head gasket job. I've been a certified tech for about 12 years now, so I get mistakes happen and God knows I have made my own share of them. However, they did not replace the water pump when doing the head gasket... I get it, it's good so don't replace it, but if you already have it out and the customer is spending thousands of dollars already, then what is another $50 for a water pump? So they put the old one back in. Anyway, that's not the issue, we moved to Colorado but the car had overheating issues (after leaving the shop), we were on a time crunch and I diag'd the issue so I towed it 1,200 miles with my Jeep. So now we are here. I went and bought the water pump and replaced it myself. Upon removal of the water pump that they removed for the head gasket job, I found one cross-threaded water pump bolt and another was tightened so much that it broke the head of the bolt off into the water pump housing. Also, when draining the coolant to do the water pump job I found that they only used water... no anti freeze. That is not professional. Like I said, I get that mistakes happen, but to that tech... You knew you broke that bolt and didn't say anything... you didn't right what you did wrong. That's bad business. I hope you are a young tech and just learning, but a head gasket job is a big job. So basically I just did your warranty work for you. Details, man... details.

I rarely write any reviews about places so heed my warning when I say DO NOT COME HERE for service. Had the worst customer experience at this location. Our car just randomly stopped accelerating on I-12 West, so had to get it towed. I called a couple places and heard that AAMCO will run a diagnostic for you for free. Thinking this was the way to go I had my car towed there. This was a Wednesday around 1:30 in the afternoon. I talked to a gentleman named Mitch who assured me they would run a diagnostic and call me right away when they found out whats wrong.Heard nothing all day, so I figured I would at least touch base with Mitch and see what the status of my car was. Upon answering the phone, I was told they didn't perform any tests and would wait until the morning. I assumed 31/2 to 4 hours was adequate enough to run a test but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Once again I was assured they would call me after they ran their tests. The next day I received no phone call, so again I took the initiative to call them around 4:30pm. When Mitch answered the phone, he informed me they had run diagnostics and they thought it was something to do with the engine and not the transmission, so to double check they want to run another test in the morning. At this point I was frustrated, I was assured twice they would call me as soon as they got information about my problem and yet I had to call both times 30 minutes before they were closing to get that much information out of them. Anywho I made sure to ask if they would call me after the mechanic ran his diagnostic and again I was assured they would.Friday comes along and wouldn't you know it they didn't call. So around 2:30pm I decide to give them a call on my lunch break. Surprise! Mitch answered again. And when I asked him about my car situation he told me that he had already talked to me yesterday about it being an engine problem. When I inquired about this diagnostic he told me they needed to run in the morning, he hesitated and quickly back pedaled and said it confirmed what they thought. (Freaking Liar) After that there was literally 1 to 2 mins of silence, finally I asked him what was next and he told me we needed to bring it somewhere else. Really?? You couldn't let me know that yesterday when you "knew" it was something with the engine?? Completely flabbergasted on how ridiculous this situation was and running out of time on my break I ended the call.I told my wife what was going on and asked her if she could call back and tell them to put the keys in our car and we will pick it up later, since I had to go back to work. Simple right? Well apparently Mitch is a chauvinistic jerk and was extremely rude to my wife. (I didn't find this out until after they were closed) Oh but wait there is moreWhen we dropped by to pick up my car it was covered with bird crap (just washed the car 3 days prior) and to top it all off, our car now will not start (the car was able to start and rev the engine just not drive in gear when I brought it to them)Moral of the story? Absolutely do not bring your vehicle here, they will not communicate with you, they will not take care of your car, and will leave it in worse condition than you brought it to them. There free diagnostic is just a huge gimmick to bring in customers because as you can tell, they don't retain them. Save yourself the trouble and take it somewhere else.

So I have had the transmission serviced under warranty twice. First time it took more than two weeks, the secvonfd time more than a month. Cost me over $2,000 in rentals to replace the vehicle in our small fleet. Finally it is ready and I ask the shop to either deliver it as we have no one to transfer it that day or give me a ride ine way. Told nope, they are too busy, would cost them too much time down. Mitch suggested that I have it towed. I have no choice so I did. Probably end up back in the shop again in a few weeks and it will cost me hundreds more.I can not testify as to the quality of work but I can cite that AAMCO transmissions keep coming back, I will never send another vehicle to the shop and highly recommend that you look at alternatives. The folks at le boeuf transmissions are friendly, efficient and they never have a problem doing pick up. My company has paid for three transmissions at AAMCO. Every time we had to bring the vehicle back more than once. Never again.

I called the Coursey Boulevard AAMCO with what I thought was a big problem with my mazda 626. even though i had talked to several auto shops, i thought this one was the best. Once I had my car checked out, I found out that my problem was something that wasn't an expensive repair. I even had other mechanics check it out over the past couple of weeks adn all told me that I was looking at a new transmission. I really like these guys and they saved me tons of money from what other people were telling me. best of all, i was able to get my car checked at NO CHARGE (i did have to leave it with them, but they called me the same day)!! They told me it would be free even if they didnt to the repair! would definitely go back! great service!

A little pricey, but the owner is insanely friendly and knowledgable. We had some scheduling conflicts because they were pretty busy the day i got the chance to go up there so i ended up having to leave it overnight, but they fixed everything for me and went out of their way to make sure i could come pick it up after they had already closed because i got stuck at work. 10/10 guys!!
