I had a problem needing mechanic diagnosis. Called and owner was helping someone else and not sure how long it would take him to get to me. He did come but by time he came, i had gotten help. In the end, i did not need his service. By the way, his cost for diagnosis was $140-150.00.

Absolutely horrible experience! These guys came out to fix a shifter cable in one of our work trucks. They put the wrong cable in and it broke again same day after they charge almost $1000 for it. Then for the next 5 days we were told they were coming out the following day which never happened over and over again. Then when someone finally came out 6 days later instead of communicating what was going on just left our truck in worse shape then it was before and said nothing. Worst part is we are first responders helping in hurricane recovery and haven t been able to take care of our customers. Now we are forced to tow it to a competent mechanic. I am not someone to complain and very understanding but with their absolute terrible customer service and unprofessionalism I had to say something.Service: General repairs & maintenance

BUYER BEWARE!!My dealings with Scotty and A-1. This 'company' is a complete scam. I called them because my engine would not crank. That led to timing chain replacement, which led to a massive oil leak.(lost 6 qts within 1/2 mile) Once again they fixed the oil leak. On the test drive it lost another 6 qts of oil AND all of the water in the cooling system resulting in a cracked head gasket or worse. Had to have it towed. My vehicle is still not running after 3 wks and $1300 It will cost $2000 more to get it fixed! They are dishonest, incompetent thieves that do not care about the customer.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Scottie was extremely unreliable and unprofessional. Paid for a service that I thought was complete but 7 weeks later, the job still isn t finished. He wouldn t answer my calls. I had to call from different numbers to get him to answer but the job still isn t finished. DO NOT USE unless you want the most unprofessional mechanic.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I highly recommend A-1 Mobile Auto Repair and Towing! Needing to replace my alternator, I reached out to Scotty to see if he was able to tow my car to a local repair shop to have it fixed. He and his team far exceeded my expectations and were able to come to me (saving me from having to have my car towed), diagnose the problem, and fix it all in less than 24 hours after I initially contacted him. To say I received excellent customer service would be an understatement! I am incredibly pleased and will definitely use him again in the future.

They said they changed out my brake cylinder and come to find out they only spliced a brake hose which came undone down the road. They charged me over $1,000. This shop is a scam scheme, especially Scotty. Do not trust them with any mechanical work. They are out to steal your money with no remorse.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

I needed my alternator changed and couldn t drive it to a mechanic because the car was completely dead. They came right to me after I called and replaced my alternator quickly for a reasonable price. If needed I would use them again.

Horrible experience with incompetence and lies. They diagnosed a battery problem while I was in route to New Orleans, which I knew wasn't correct since my battery wasn't that old. Called my mechanic in New Orleans who knew immediately from my description of the problem that is was the alternator. A-1 strongly disagreed with that diagnosis. I chanced it and didn't let A-1 change the battery and instead kept driving to New Orleans where my mechanic confirmed the issue as the alternator and repaired the car with NO NEW BATTERY. Unfortunately I had to pay $209 to the incompetent A-1 for the "service call." They agreed to refund it upon submission of my mechanic's bill. Despite my doing that and countless phone calls where they agreed to refund the money, instead, they resubmitted to my credit card company and called the charge valid. They weren't just incompetent mechanics, they lied numerous times. I strongly advise against using this company.

I want to be clear by saying this review is based solely on my experience. I initially contacted A-1 for an alternator replacement; which I was told that they could come to my location (outside of the Baton Rouge area) to evaluate the vehicle (parts, time required to complete the repair). They came to my location Friday evening and stated that they would contact me on Monday with part info and ETA for job completion. Due to the weather (which was understandable) they were unable to come to perform the repair until later that week. When they arrived, they discovered that the alternator that they purchased was not the compatible with the vehicle; therefore, we faced another next day delay. They returned the next day to complete the repair and I was told the battery light may occasionally still appear on the indicator, not to mention I now had a check engine light that appeared as well. I was told not to worry about the check engine light because rewiring was done. Due to the winter storm, I did not drive the vehicle for four days after the repair was complete. The first day that I drove the vehicle, my fuel level indicator went from full to empty and remained there regardless of filling up the vehicle with gas and the belt had a slight squeaking noise. As soon as this occurred I contacted A-1 to advise them of this issue and was told to bring the vehicle to there shop the next business day. As I headed to work the next morning, I went in the store and came out and the vehicle did not start so I called A-1 to advise them and they arrived within the hour and started the vehicle and instructed me to stop by there shop ASAP. I arrived at the shop at 9:30 am and advised them that i would have to leave to return to work at 12 noon. They inspected the vehicle during this time to see what the necessary steps would be to rectify the situation; which I advised them that it would have to be after hours or on the weekend to accommodate my work schedule. I was told to bring the vehicle on a Friday evening and leave it until Sunday evening to allow them more time to identify/ potentially solve the problem. I received a call Sunday morning stating that they would need more time because of the rain and not being able to see well at night; this resulted in them asking for me to return with the vehicle the next Friday and leave it until Sunday evening AGAIN. The belt squeaking got worse and louder therefore I stopped by the shop on Wednesday morning and was told that spraying belt dressing may temporarily solve the problem although he stated he noticed cracks in the belt during the alternator repair. Even though I insisted that something was quite right and I wanted to have the belt replaced; Scottie stated that everything would be alright and he would buy and replace a new belt when I came back to leave the vehicle on the upcoming Friday. Unfortunately, I did not make it to Friday because later that after at 2:20 pm to be exact, my vehicle completely killed on I-110 in the middle of traffic. A kind citizen stayed behind my vehicle to alert other drivers and redirect oncoming traffic until DOTD arrived to push me off the interstate , in front of someone's residence. I contacted A-1 and he stated he was at a doctor's appointment and would be headed my way when he finished. Three hours passed and he arrived at 5:40 pm; after about 5 minutes or so he stated it was the belt that was the issue (which is what I stopped by earlier that day to tell him about but it was brushed off) and he would need to have a closer look at the vehicle at his shop since it was now getting dark and he was unable to see. He then asked if I had a local tow truck company that I used and I replied no I did not; therefore, he called a local tow truck company and asked me if I would stay and wait the 30 minutes for the driver to arrive and meet him at the shop. At this point, I had been waiting over 4 hours and told him he should wait for the tow truck to arrive, fix the issue and call me to get the vehicle once the job was complete. OUT OF CHARACTERS, There is more...

When we made the first contact with a representative of this service, he said he would call us at around 9 am the next morning to let us know when they could come. No one ever called so we called them again and he said there were two customers ahead of us but that he would definitely get to us that day. No one ever showed up or bothered to call to say why they could not come. We can't comment on their repairs because no one ever came. If this is the way they conduct business we are probably better off that they did not touch out vehicle.

Ain't nothing but a scam. I had them come to repair my car and 2 guys showed up, but only one was working. Then they stopped to have lunch and once I got the bill the guy who actually did the work told me to call him and he could give me a "fairer" price. Would not recommend.

Called A1 because I broke down on the interstate headed to work. Guy rushes me off phone saying just text him the location, $95 for him to diagnose and cost goes to repair if I accept, at 12:30 P.M. After not hearing anything for 2 hours I text back to see if he s receiving messages at 3:00 P.M., no answer. Finally I call at 4:00 P.M since they close at 5:00 P.M.and he reads the unopened messages from 2 hours ago aloud to me over the phone and says he s booked but he ll send someone out and let me know a price. That was on July 13, still haven t heard a word back from them on July 24, 0 Stars, would not recommend, EVER

These mechanics are great. They came out in a timely manner, discovered what repairs needed to be done in less than 5 minutes, and got my car running in the same day for an unbeatable price. I will definitely use them in the future if needed.
