Great people and Great service at Sallas in Overland Park. Andrew did an excellent job of explaining all aspects of the services to be done on my car and Adam did an outstanding job of getting all of the work done. I highly recommend Sallas to anyone needing repairs or would just like have the peace of mind that your car will be taken care of in tip-top fashion for the long run! It's wonderful to find a business to trust! I trust Sallas!

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a shop. I drove my car to Sallas. The mechanic found i needed to replace my air intake manifold. Mechanic said i could drive the car home so i did. Next morning i drove on the highway and my car was unable to go past 40 miles. I dropped my car off at Sallas explaining to them what happened. It took Sallas 3 days to figure out what was wrong. My car's computer output going to the transmission had shorted out. I had to pay Sallas $1700 for replacing my air intake manifold and now my car is stuck in second gear. Sallas then quoted me $3000 to fix the new issue that magically happened after they looked at my car. Use them at your own risk.Also, make sure you have full coverage if you use this shop. You can use one of their loaner cars if you have to leave your vehicle overnight. This way when they mess up your vehicle you will have 100% proof that nobody but Sallas touched your vehicle.To the owner of this shop, don't respond to my message. Your people did nothing to make this right.

Thank you for an amazingly quick engine repair. These guys are fast, fair and honest. Exactly what we needed in a pinch while we were stranded on our road trip. Thank you for finishing in a day and thank you for the ride to and from our hotel when we were stuck! Great guys Chris, Brian and everyone over there, five stars, highly recommend.

I was referred here and won't ever come back. I dropped my car off due to check engine light was on and I was hearing a whooping sound coming from my front end (even states this on my receipt). I left with them telling me they did a full inspection but couldn't find anything wrong. Then I was charged $250 for them checking my car (including a drive ability test). I went to a shop by my house recently bc that sound got a smig worse. That shop replaced my wheel bearing and every single awful noise or wheel shaking is now gone. So you mean to tell me this entire time it was my wheel bearing and I was driving highway miles with this issue?!?! I could of lost control of my car with severe injuries from their neglect on properly inspecting my car. Don't take your car here!

I ve been going to Sallas Auto Repair since 2016, and have been very pleased with their work. I think their prices are competitive, the staff communicate well, and they have helped me determine what is most critical to the repair and maintenance of my vehicles.

Took our vehicle to Sallas Auto Repair for leaking anti-freeze, and was told we needed new water pump. Charged us $966.00. imo.. gouged on the price everywhere they felt like it...the labor, the parts, kits, fees for one water pump, which also ran up the taxes. One "fee, was a $80 "garage fee" tacked on. Granted, we approved the estimate, but they hit you with a $79 fee to just look at it and 2 days earlier, a previous dishonest garage in Leawood replaced the radiator ( $848) to stop the leak, IT DID NOT, so we were already over-whelmed and already put out. These richards also recommended changing 6 spark plugs, for $975.00...! Told us a lower ball joint was bad ( brand new a year ago). A truly bad experience for me. Never again.

Chris S. is fantastic at helping customers get what they need for their vehicles. He goes in-depth as to what's going on with your vehicle, what necessary fixes are needed, and what can hold off so you're not paying hundreds of dollars at once. They also have payment plans for those who need it which is nice. Would highly recommend Sallas Auto in OP for anyone looking for an honest shop and quality work.Service: Oil change

I was charged for services that had been done by my other mechanic the week prior to when all they actually did was run a diagnostic on when the car was going to require routine maintenance work. They charged us over $800 in services they never did.

We had an incredibly positive experience at Sallas. I called on a Wednesday and they got me in Friday AM for new rear shocks. They gave me a loaner car and had my car done Friday EOD. Super friendly, reasonable prices, and great all around service. Highly recommend them.

We recently brought our vehicle to Sallas for a routine oil change and tire rotation. John was genuine and kindly informed me of when they could complete the work as well as the shuttle options to be taken back home/work. They completed the work and also sent a very, thorough diagnosis of our entire vehicle's mechanical condition. Even though I don't usually write reviews, I thought our great experience was worth noting. Sallas Automotive definitely deserves a 5-star for their customer service!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

It's never fun to spend money on car maintenance/repairs, but I know they're looking out for me and I don't question their recommendations. I brought my car in for wheel re-alignment and they were very helpful. They let me pick up some stuff I forgot in my car while they were doing the wheel alignment, and one of the mechanics, Mike, did a good job explaining the issues with my tires. Turns out, my wheel alignment was incredibly off, and was rubbing the inner part of the front tires to their steel wiring (tires would ve blown out soon, had I not taken it in). Mike was great at showing me under the car and pointing to where the tires had rubbed off. Trustworthy people.Services: Tires, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment

When trying to get our 2012 Wolkswagen Routan & 2013 Kia forte sorted, I found it difficult to find a garage that was reasonably priced and good customer service. Found Sallas Auto Repair online and decided to give them a try. I could not find a garage that has excellent customer service and mechanics who know what they talking about. Jon & Ross on front desk were very pleasant, approachable and made the process very easy. Also, everytime we took our cars in, work was completed the same day.I could not recommend a better garage and will be using Sallas Auto Repair for the foreseeable future! I came to them because a friend said that they are trustworthy and do good quality work. I was not disappointed. They let me know that what needed repaired according to the dealership was not really necessary yet. With that, they did what was necessary. So for almost half the price of what I would have spent at the dealership I got more maintenance done plus they noticed a bolt was missing from my brakes! They fixed that plus something else that would have cost me a lot of money at the dealership. So glad I brought it to sallas! They were also very patient with all the questions I was asking about what they were going to do and why it was necessary or not. I always have a lot of questions:) I will be using their services for sure!

We have used Sallas Auto for several years now. We had been happy with the service until this past month. Our sons car would shudder when applying the brakes. The issue was discussed and we were told the front tires had tread separation. I was doubtful but we installed two new front tires. The car continued to shudder with brake application. I then inspected the car myself to find the back brake caliper had a broken bolt and the interior back break pads were very worn. I replaced the worn and broken parts myself and the issue is resolved. Perhaps they have new help. Just be aware that you may want a second opinion if you are unsatisfied with the recommendation.Service: Tires

A few months ago I took my car to a dealership to have a wheel bearing replaced and paid $800 and while driving on I-70 I encountered what sounded like another wheel bearing going out so after some online research I decided to take my car to Sallas. They quoted me much less to replace the bearing and said they could get the part within 10 minutes if I wanted to bring my car the next day. I was given a ride to and from my house and they only had my car a few hours. They did an extensive check and thankfully didn t find an issue. I appreciated their honesty and the fact they didn t want to take hundreds of dollars from me because the stigma of car repair shops is notorious for being weasels. As a female I feel like I have finally found a shop I can trust and already recommended them to my other female friends

Could not get my vehicle started. My vehicle was towed to Sallas Auto Repair in Overland Park, to late on Friday night to do anything, closed on Saturday & Sunday but open on President s Day. They did a full diagnostic test & called me with results ... the battery was not the problem & is still in good working order! The belt to the air conditioning/heating system had caused the problem plus another belt needed to be changed too! My tires were in need of rotation & that service was preformed too!Once service was completed, Ross called to let me know a gentleman would be coming to pick me up to drive me to pick up my vehicle! Due to the snow & cold weather I was so happy with this extra service!If & went I ever need service to my vehicle, I will gladly return to Sallas Auto Repair Shop!Thank you for your wonderful service!God bless you for all you do to help the rest of us get back on the road safely! I enjoy going to Sallas, even when I hear bad news about my car. They always do the job well and are prompt and thorough. I trust them and know they care about me and my car. I have depended on them to keep my old jalopy running for 16 years, and my kids always say how well it runs. I give credit to regular oil changes and visits to Sallas, when needed.

Not impressed with communication (non-existent in fact), but this was my first experience here and I've got no reason to believe the repair tech wasn't as competent as other reviews suggest. The symptoms weren't reproducible for them -- which was great and all -- but I'd had my car tow-dropped there at 8:30a, heard nothing so left urgent voicemail around 2p, and still heard nothing by 4p so finally called and reached owner who advised he was, actually, aware of the status of my issue for God only knows how long. Regardless, barely arrived in time to pick up car (Ubering) on a Fri eve before closing, so I'd have been carless for an entire weekend simply because they couldn't get around to calling me with a status update. And really, even if the owner had simply nodded and said something like, "Yeah I'm really sorry, we've been super busy today and I know I promised you better service than this," or SOMETHING acknowledging why zero communication just isn't good service, I'd have been fine with that. Instead, he offered me a gaslight answer, suggesting that the reason they shouldn't be held responsible for such abysmal lack of basic respect for the customer is because -- he reminded me -- I was a "work-in," and therefore implicitly my fault for not realizing this. In fact, when setting up the visit I made sure to get his acknowledgements that (1) he could get the car back to me before end of day Fri (unless issue more serious) and that (2) he'd be sure to keep me regularly updated. If he didn't have the resources/employees available to handle my request for (understandably difficult) same-day service, simply TELLING ME that would have saved me from wasting an entire day off without pay (at a brand-new job, adding to the frustration on my end) as I could've located someone who did have that bandwidth to help that quickly. Hoping it was just a bad day for the owner of this particular shop -- again, only my first encounter with the shop and owner, so take review with that grain of salt please. But wow... definitely did not get the sense that "Customers are #1" myself during that first impression! I hope this is useful info.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

John at Sallas was excellent to work with. My Range Rover had blown the radiator hose and I quickly realized I was not going to be able to replace it. I also had a warning for the vehicle charging system. Sallas was able to diagnose the alternator, remove and replace it and install a new radiator hose for me in a couple of days. Great to work with, reasonable pricing and quick service. Highly recommend Sallas!Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance

I started with Sallas years ago. My previous shop had lost my trust. I know a little about the mechanics of a vehicle but not a lot. The first visit they hit a home run. I attended the annual Sallas workshop and learned even more about their integrity. I can't imagine taking my car to anyone else. Had an oil change yesterday which includes a pretty thorough inspection. One issue will need attention but according to them can wait. Just got a call that the issue will cost much less than previously quoted. By far the worse experience I ve had at a car shop. I brought my car in for brakes and a few other things and they tried charging me $1700. I told them I would take it to anther shop. When I picked my car up it was in worse condition then when I gave it to them. 2 minutes on the road my tire literally popped off and I almost got in a car accident. They didn t put my tire back on right. They didn t apologize. They asked me if I had full coverage on my car that s it. PLEASE BE CAREFUL GOING TO THIS SHOP. BE FAR THE WORSE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!

Outstanding and long time great service for my family s car and truck, and my dad s and sister s car too. This weekend my engine check light came on, and despite a very busy Monday, John and Ross somehow fit me in. That s not what makes this outstanding . Rather it was the thorough troubleshooting, accurate analysis, responsive repair - done same day, road tested, and very fair price. I am not going anywhere else. Thanks to the Sallas team for my family s safe travel

5 STARS.. I m new to Sallas overwhelmed with anxiety about my brakes & transmission issues. Ross was very professional & calming. I was able to get an appointment for the next day, they sent me a link with pics of my overall inspection & kept me updated as to what was going on, I was in & out the same day. They took me home & when my car was ready they came to pick me up. They treated melike family!

Towed my truck to Sallas, in O.P. The fuel pump quit with no symptoms, other than level sensor worked sporadically. They had it fixed and me "on the road again" within 24 hours. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that I thought the price was a little steep.
