I just had a great experience for my first visit to AAMCO! Will, the service manager, got me in right away for the the oil change I needed before heading out of town for the weekend. The service was friendly, professional and FAST! I will be back for all my automotive needs.

I had probably the worse luck you could have w/ auto shops to start a year this year. My Chevy Volt transmission blew and the first shop I went to promised the work, then closed and sold my transmission leaving me with a dud and no transmission codes. Other shops complained that working on a Plug-In Hybrid or getting a transmission would be impossible.AAMCO confidently took up the challenge the day I walked in and informed me that I could trust their expertise in transmissions. Will's one of the most helpful people I have worked with. Greg is a problem solver. I'm glad I did trust them. They were able to find, install, troubleshoot missing transmission code information and turn my luck around in < 30 days.I recommend AAMCO Overland Park.

Let me just tell you, I have never been treated so nicely at a car place ever in my life. Usually when I go into car places, the mechanics are rude and act irritated that you're there. But not here. They are so nice,so helpful and so professional. They gave me such good advice, and in the end they fixed my car at a great price. They have definitely earned my trust and my business! They do everything here and so I'll never go anywhere else again.

Hello, I am Susan Kuchinsky and I am writing to ask for help!!!! I am concerned about the length of time that my transmission is taking to rebuild. On April 6th I was at Ward Parkway my car would not respond when I put it in reverse. I had it towed to my home as it was past 6 pm and shops are closed. On Friday, the 7th, I rented a car. I went to your shop as you honor my warranty. I then had my car towed to your shop. I was told that you were very busy but you would work me in. On 4-11 you had the diagnostic work done. I came up to check on it. The transmission needed to be rebuilt , brakes, and power steering pump was leaking. The transmission was covered by warranty, the brakes and pump were not. I at that time wanted all the work done. Because I cannot get an estimate of when my car will be ready, I have cancelled the brakes and pump work . After calling several times and visiting the office, I still have no idea if my car will be ready in 3 days or 3 weeks. I keep hearing the when Alicia knows she will call me . She has been very polite to me but has not helped me I even asked if I could talk to the owner or shop manager. She said no. I called two other Aamoco to see what they would recommend. They both told my to come to the shop and demand to see my car and the transmission. Also to talk to the shop foreman. All this time I have had to rent a car. My rental car coverage per warranty is only partial and for the hours ASC says it will take to repair the car, so I am out several hundred dollars. I am a senior citizen and would very much like to support my neighborhood businesses. Right now I am feeling hopeless and helpless. HELP!!!!!!!!Service: Transmission

Mechanics were awesome. Hence why they received a two star. The front desk lady made difficult work of communication, wouldn't give even a relative time of estimated completed work, and was rude. Seemed she over charged me, then "gave me" a discount for inconvenience after being extremely rude and disrespectful, which made the price exactly what it was expected to be. Won't go ever again.

As a 15 year vetran of the customer service industry, it pains me to post a "karen" review. However, given that Alicia (unclear on the spelling, clear on the disrespect I received) treated me as a karen despite my valid concerns, I see no other recourse but to do so.My boyfriend scheduled an appointment on Thursday for a transmission fluid change Monday at 2:30pm. Upon scheduling this appointment, he confirmed the make, model, and year of his vehicle. When he arrived on Monday afternoon, he was told that the repair would take no more than 2 hours. This proved incorrect, as a filter was needed that the aamco did not have in stock, and he found himself stranded without his truck as the shop closed. He caught a ride home and confirmed that he could pick up his truck first thing in the morning.Tuesday morning, he calls to confirm with Alicia that his truck will be ready, and is assured that it will be ready in the next 20 minutes, but that she will call back to confirm. She never called him back, so after 40 minutes, we drove up there ourselves. The truck was not ready. Apparently the shop also did not have the necessary oil in stock, and this was not discovered when the filter was ordered, nor was it noticed when the appointment had been originally made DAYS prior. When I asked why this was, Alicia stood up from behind the desk, condescendingly explained to me about AAMCO's appointment system/business model and became very confrontational with me. At no point did she apologize or offer a solution of any kind.In the end, my boyfriend and I went OURSELVES to pick up the oil needed to complete the truck, as Alicia was unable to provide us with any type of solution. Though he was reimbursed for the cost of the oil, he did not receive the complete service he had initially asked for, as Alicia was eager to rush us out the door. The callous disrespect for us and our time is unjustifiable. I'm not saying the customer is always right, I'm simply saying if a mechanic shop agrees to a repair, they should have the necessary parts in stock prior to beginning said repair. This way, the customer's vehicle is not held hostage for unplanned amounts of time due to sheer incompetence.Service: Transmission

The transmission on my wife's 2016 Buick Enclave needed repair and the first place I had it towed to quoted me $8000 to replace the transmission and it would take two weeks to receive it. My wife is a manufacturers representative so that was unacceptable. I contacted Keith at Aamco in Overland Park and he quoted me approxamately $3900 or so and could get it done in three days. I was highly impressed with Keith's professionalism on the phone and thus took the car to him for repair. He kept his word as to timeframe and I was extremely happy with his honesty, professionalism and his keeping me in touch all along with the job. Thank you Keith. I highly recommend this business if you need and sort of transmission repair.Service: Transmission

I have used this company before for an engine mount problem and sent fine. But I took it back for my ABS breaks that had been slightly acting up for 9 months. I got in to get it checked out and was told I need my transmission rebuilt and would be $4000. And then wouldn't look at my ABS breaks till about a week later. And when I finally got in to have them check my ABS breaks they tore up my breaks worse than what it was before I took it there. When I left it was grinding and pinging and had 2 lights on my dash. And they wanted about $1000 for the ABS breaks. I took it some where else and got it don't for a 1/3 of the price and don't need my transmission rebuilt. Over all didn't like the way they made my car worse and way over priced me.

I appreciate that AAMCO will diagnose your problem without charging you. That is a huge plus right there and got my business. Brought two vehicles in for transmission servicing and they did the work quickly and at a fair price. I would definitely recommend this business.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

My daughter has had some repairs done at this shop since moving away from home and starting her career in KC. They have always been upfront and honest with her. Much appreciated from a parents view that she has a trusted place to take her car to be diagnosed and repaired!! Thank You for taking care of her!!

Went in last week to have my jeep looked at. I was greeted by Tim, who was very personable and professional. He and the mechanic walked me back to view the issues with my car and even gave me a brief lesson on how to prevent any future issues. I really appreciated the great customer service, 10/10 would recommend!

Had a horrible experience with a different car repair business, these guys were AWESOME! Diagnosed and fixed my previous issue, pricing was great, great communication and explanation about what was going on. Caleb has great customer care! No doubt my Lexus will be brought back here in the future. Thanks again for fixing my car in a timely manner and exceeding my expectations on quality customer care and work.

I called mid-week and scheduled an appointment for repair work the following Monday. I provided my contact information, the car make, model, and year as well as a description of the issue to be fixed. They're closed on Sunday so I left the vehicle in the lot, left a a note restating the issue and my contact information. I then left the keys in the key drop as I would with any other mechanic I've used.On Monday I hadn't heard from them so I called at 3:45 to see if the repair would be complete that day or they needed more time. I was told they hadn't looked at it because they couldn't verify the work that needed to be done. They then blamed me for not also attaching my contact information and issue description to the keys. There was no attempt made to contact me for further clarification and it was clear nobody checked the appointment notes or the note left clearly visible on the vehicle's dashboard.I picked up my vehicle, expressed my disappointment, and told them their service was awful. I'm sure I came off as rude due to my frustration with being ignored and then blamed for it as well. Regardless, I will not be returning and I suggest other's find a better place to take their vehicles.

I brought my Jeep in last week last minute. I had called several places that morning to take a look at a potential oil leak. This was the only place that was willing to have me bring it in day of and see if they had time to take a look. Keith was very pleasant on the phone when I called in and was easy to communicate with when dropping off. I explained my situation, as I was supposed to be driving several hours in order to move. They moved things around and got me in sooner than they had stated - My jeep ended up having over 6 hrs worth of labor to do and they started working on it immediately after I agreed and gave them the go ahead with the quote they had provided. They not only managed to fix my car same day, but Keith and Manny stayed WAY after close time to ensure that it would be safe to drive. The end price was right on par with that they had quoted, and there was zero BS involved. They told me what my problems were straight up, and took me to show the complete work done afterwards. Their customer service was absolutely exceptional and I will definitely be a lifelong customer of theirs! Thanks guys!

My truck's rear end started leaking and I was so blessed that these guys got my truck in and out the same day to help me get back on the road! I use aamco at home and can now proudly say that I use them on the road! I didn't even mention my relationship with my local aamco but was still treated with the same kindness and expertise I am used to getting at home! I highly recommend them!!!

Tim and his team take incredible care of their customers. We have a fleet of 7 service trucks and use them exclusively for our maintenance. My mom had an issue with her car. Greg was responsive to her needs and her car was repaired in a timely manner. I'd recommend this company to everyone looking for an honest and professional service company that takes pride in customer satisfaction.

Came in to get my fluid flushed, guy at the desk supper cool nice guy and said I didn t need my fluid changed because I have sealed transmission, agreed with him took the truck back believing they never touched a bolt, they did leaving loose 3-4 bolts loose enough where when I went home I could notice fluid leaking out of my pan. Called them to fix it but still wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for this, not going there again would rather go one of my local small business (who told me the bolts where loosened)Service: Transmission

We are from Wichita and were preparing to return home and several dash warning lights started to come on. AAMCO was willing to work us in to take a look at this issue. After going over everything Manny told us he believed that we were safe to return home or we could leave our vehicle for a further detail look. We made it home with no further problems. I appreciate this business' honesty and service as they certainly could have taken advantage of our situation and charged for their time or more.

I've been taking vehicles here for 10 years for various needs: general maintenance, serious repairs, mechanical inspections on cars I was planning to buy, etc., and one thing I can say is - despite changes in service managers over those years - there has been a consistent level of quality service and general pleasantness that has been maintained. Credit, I feel, needs to be given to Tim, the owner, for keeping experienced and educated techs in the shop and congenial, knowledgeable, and calm managers at the front desk. I say "calm" because, as we all know, they're the ones delivering the news on our vehicles - the good, the bad, and the ugly (including what work and repairs are going to cost) - and sometimes we the consumer don't like hearing what they have to tell us. It can't be an easy job interfacing with consumers in a profession that has an inherent sense of untrustworthiness to it because of our society's conditioned concerns with being taken advantage of when it comes to our vehicles. Anyway, my point is this: give this shop a chance. Let Tim and his crew have the opportunity to provide you with their service and form your own opinion. But based on a recent personal experience with this shop, I can tell you that my belief in Tim as a fair and responsible businessman (and a decent human being) has only increased, and I believe he instills and expects those same qualities in his staff and techs. I will continue to give my business to this AAMCO shop because I feel they re trustworthy, fair, and provide quality workmanship and service.Service: A/C installation & repair

Always Friendly, always professional. Keith and Gus are Great. My husband, and I have been going here for years. They are always trying to find a way to save money where they can. We trust them 100% My husband and I know little about the mechanics of a car. Keith and Gus take their time in explaining things and make us feel like they are always looking out for the best interest of us, to ensure we come back. Great customer service.

I am from out of town and was visiting family and had to have my starter replaced. AAMCO treated me better than I could have ever expected. We placed a call to them to check the cost of having the work done there and they were the best around. They were so efficient, while my vehicle was being towed to their shop, they were busy getting the part so that it would be there when my Explorer arrived. In less than 2 hrs. they had the work completed. Jeremiah was the one who completed the job. I would highly recommend the staff at AAMCO.

Up-Date: (3-17-16) I want to give another shout out to the Overland Park AAMCO team for their fast and efficient help today. I had a headlight out. I am a mother of a 10 month old and did not want to drive at night without a headlight. Called ahead to check availability. Even though it was a holiday (St. Patrick Day) and even though they did not have the part in stock. They fit me in same day and it only took 35-45 min start to finish to fix the headlight. Yes, that included ordering and delivering the missing part. Outstanding customer service. Incredibly efficient. And very honest and genuine about their capability. You will not regret calling them to see if they can help you too!Original Post 2015: The team at AAMCO in Overland Park are outstanding. With years in the business, they are knowledgeable and friendly. They take care of your family personal and company vehicles. Thank you Overland Park AAMCO!

I had AAMCO check out a car before I bought it. The service was superb. The staff was very friendly and they were definitely my advocate. I didn't have to worry about them hiding anything. They were open and honest and answered any question I had. I have typically had good service at AAMCO at different locations in the past, but this staff also works well and treats customers well. They are also accommodating to a busy schedule and work to get you in and out as soon as possible. I will be going back for service in the future.

I have been taking my cars to Tim at Aamco for years and they do great work! You can't say enough about a good, honest mechanic who is going to get your car taken care of and get you back on the road safe. They always do what needs to be done and do NOT try to sell me things I don't need. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Greg, the manager, was very patient and answered all of my questions. He kept me well-informed and emailed the necessary documents to me. I appreciate the fact that Greg didn't charge me for a diagnostic test for my car. Most companies charge between $75 and $85 dollars even if they don't repair your car. This was a much needed break for me.

I took my car to three different places to investigate why my transmission was not working correctly. I should have read the reviews for this AAMCO first because they are spot on and excellent. They do great work and charge a very fair price. I was very pleased with their customer service and follow-up. Excellent place to take your car.

They communicate very well and keep you up-to-date. Just pricey. They did work with us and let us take our vehicle to another shop for repairs that would not effect the warranty on their work. Always stay informed and get second opinions if money is an issue.

Keith is a great guy and very knowledgeable, there are a ton of shops on Metcalf and I chose this shop based on other reviews and I couldn't be happier. They go above and beyond to help you get your car safe and road worthy. They are definitely going to be one of my first choices for maintenance and repair in the future.
