Was just shopping for a couple of last minute Christmas presents and I have to say that their shelves are much more organized then other Walmarts that I have been in. I've only been to this one, like 3 times though, but so far I've been impressed with the organized shelves. Everything in the Christmas aisle today was faced and pulled forward.

Went in for an oil change they dropped the oil out of the transmission didn't change the oil filter and put in an extra 5 quarts on top of the old oil. Made a claim their insurance won't answer the phone email is bogus 1 month later get a letter denying the claim so it's time to hand it over to a lawyer. Don't use them or ask to see your old oil filter if you do

I used the self check, as the live checkers have become an endangered species there. I try to get one near the helper in case I have an issue. I had 7 different items. The bags are only one size and are not large enough to hold Christmas decorations, ie a 24 wreath. But, I believe this is by design to cut down on shrinkage (theft). As I got to the end of my items I had three boxes of ornaments, exactly the same, that I rang up, one after the other and bagged each in their own bag, that s the only way they would fit. Instantly the helper was at my side saying she could see I was trying to scan multiple items. Well, yes I was, but I has multiple items, three constituted multiple items as the screen showed and I showed her the three bags in my cart clearly showing three boxes. What was the issue? I was confused. But, the little hand held unit in her hand showed her I had three in my cart before I started, checked three and bagged three. If she had a real problem, she could have jammed the register, come over, said they had had issues with that one, dumped everything from the bags back into the cart and moved everything to a human to be checked out. I know this because a good friend of mine used to train and open new stores for WalMart. This didn t happen. I paid and continued on out until I was ask to show my receipt. Legally, I don t have to, and told her so, but I did. I also told her I felt I was being targeted because I am a white woman, neither of the women who confronted me from the store were white, who is over 70, I don t look it. I felt discriminated against and frankly targeted. I have NEVER stolen a thing in my life! I am a business owner, as is my husband. We donate heavily back to the various schools and civic needs in this town and I I resent my treatment in this store. I have never been so insulted and humiliated while shopping. Because we own businesses here, we believe in supporting local business and those that support our local citizens. You are making me reconsider that decision. Amazon is just a click away.

If you re going to charge almost $5 for 4 turkey, lettuce, ranch, and cheese pinwheels, you should probably at least put meat and lettuce in all of them. Laziness at its finest.

I asked an employee to unlock the power tool case. He didn't have a key, he said he would phone someone over. After waiting a few minutes, I asked another staff to unlock it. The 2nd staff got it unlocked and helped me. Though the glass on the case was stuck. When it came time to check out, all the lanes were full, but didn't have to wait long. It was an okay experience. About what you'd expect from Walmart.

Busy place, looked like shelves were being restocked as fast they could. Justin said it had been this way all day.

I stopped to return some items, the service department was closed from 6pm-7pm, one of the more popular times for people. I asked to speak to a manager, and was directed to Chris who was nearby leaning on a devider chatting with another employee. I registered my complaint, and the response was a total lack of concern or caring to my frustration of driving miles only to find they shut down for a break .

The grocery section of the Walmart in Spencer Iowa is lacking many of the store brand products leaving only the more expensive name brand products.

My complaint is with self checkout. They had nobody working regular checkouts and 8 young people(including both self checkout areas) pointing to the staition I should use, playing on the phone, visiting with each other and helping out a little. This doesn't include people in office watching monitors so people don't steal. All these personal at regular check out and there would be no need for self checkout. They just changed their job title and made me do their work.

Found what we needed pretty easily however when we went to pay it took over a half hour as the check I wrote couldn't be read by register, though we tried and tried for some reason they could not manually put the info in the register. So then we use bank card, guess what register then said contact bank. Finally after the 3rd time it processed. So I'm pretty sure there was register problems and 2 new people trying help each other rather then getting management to alleviate the problem in a more timely manner. Very unfortunate as a family was behind us and had unloaded all of their groceries and didn't want to repack so we could feel their anxiety also. Just not cool on a hot day which it was warm in there too. Yes it sucked. Bad experience, this generally doesn't happen at a Walmart.

Not crazy about all the checkouts turning into self check. Some days it's kind of hit and miss with bare shelves. Have always found the people that work there polite and helpful. Several have gone beyond helpful. Used to use the pharmacy. Loved the staff there. Unfortunately, they don't take my insurance anymore. The store is clean for the most part. I appreciate that as well.

My hair was absolutely destroyed. Never coming back. I had heather. I asked for a TRIM and she cut off so much of my hair. I asked for a short boy cut trim, and I was given a Karen cut. Absolutely ruined any positivity that the salon had towards them. Do better.

DO NOT trust Walmart with your vision care. The girls in this department are the best and try their hardest but the Walmart lab is a joke. Lenses are not even close as far as prescription on one pair and the second pair, one lens didn't even fit in the frame. Try calling Walmart customer service to get answers. Total incompetence on so many levels. This company needs an overhaul. Quick to take your money, slow to deliver on services promised. $450 and almost 4 weeks later still no glasses and still no answers. Buyers beware.Update: it took over 7 weeks to finally get sunglasses.

I really don't care for self checkout, but they have gotten better at having 2 or 3 Walmart employees standing at the ready to assist. I don't understand why they just don't have the three employees manning a register. Prior to self checkout, there would maybe be 2 registers open maybe, when there were like 6 potential out stations. ???

I would give Storm lake Iowa Walmart a zero rating because that is what it needs but it won t let me so this Walmart absolutely sucks the employees are always rude and never truly want to help anyone that comes in. Tonight one even made fun of me for trying to make my son laugh which I find very offensive you do not make fun of customers no matter what. We told the manager on duty but I doubt anything will happen to him he probably won t even get a slap on the wrist and he ll just continue to make fun of people so watch out if you re trying to make a kid laugh to stop a tantrum people are so rude these days it s sickening i really hate to bring anymore kids into this world if they re going to act like him

Good size store for a smaller town with a good variety of stock options. There were a lot of friendly staff there when I stopped in, my only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that there was a very foul odor coming from the meat section the day I was there, which is indicative of some cleanliness issues.

Been very satisfied with the clothing lately, they ve been getting much better and definitely worth the price! Employees usually have a smile on their face which everyone likes to see. 5-stars for now since I haven t had any complications yet. I realize the products are NOT American made, my experiences have been good so far. Also thank you for not putting a door greeter, honestly no one cares for them to say hi when you walk in:/

Had to beg 7 different employees for 20 minutes to open the dam game case. Kept saying "I don't have the key" and then ran off. Nice.

I hate being stopped 10 feet from the checkout to have someone check my receipt. If that's what it takes to slow theft, that is good though.

I was looking for a checkout lady in the Storm Lake store. I have bad closeup vision so l don't do self checkout.. l asked a clerk if she could point one out. Her response was "lady you're standing right on front of one can't you see it!! I was shocked and said l hadn't. She said "you need to look better".I was very unhappy with her rudeness. The girl who checked me apologized for the other lady.

I didn't feel comfortable in there todayA child was allowed to cry the whole time I was in there 15+ minutes.Apparently it doesn't matter if you have customers to allow your children to cry.I would have complained to someone but I seem to be the only one bothered by it.

I had several associates assisting me put together more than 400 notebooks and more than 400 boxes of crayons. It to a group effort but they were successful. Because of their efforts I was able to make my full donation to my church without having to go to multiple other stores, I really appreciate that!

Hello hello hello Walmart management!!!! Are you listening? Your store is a great example of how customer service has become a memory. What is your sales mission? What do you mean customer service is closed at 5pm. . That is when a great majority of customers come to the store. I was sold the wrong electronic device after waiting for 40 min and getting passed to (3) different associates (that I had to go find) to help me assure that it was the correct choice. (Obviously none of the three had any specific training and had no business selling those types of products. I was Specifically told that one they brought me was the correct device and was compatible. It turned out that it was not at all the correct device. The next day I tried returning/ exchange it for the correct device was told that I could not exchange it in the first 24 hrs. So the next day i make the 3rd trip to find out customer service closes at 5pm to 8am. Now i get to make yet the 4th trip. Where is the leadership here? Where are the people who are actual sales associates who have knowledge of what they are doing? Why don't the store have someone who is available to manage the customer service center at least ?? I don't know why a business would purposely mold the company sales model to exclude physical face to face customer contact expect them to check out and sack up themselves under watch from a roving security officer more or less without so much of a simple thanks for bringing them your business, to top that off there is a person posted to search for thefts at the exit. I really would appreciate it if management would respond to this review and explain why they work so hard to not work? 4 trips is completely unacceptable.
