We ve been coming here for years and always have a great time. The staff works hard to keep everyone safe and the place clean. Snack options are good but take a while when busy. Pools and slides are great and my boys (teens) always love coming here. The location right on the lake is also amazing and there are options for on-site bike and kayak rentals, the mini golf, walking trail around the lake, and a park just to the west of the hotel. We usually do a couple nights when we stay and are always happy to return.

I am no savvy traveler...but have stayed in various hotels and I can honestly say that this hotel is pretty nice. Rooms are well stocked, clean and spacious. The restaurant is also great, great menu, great portions, the personnel was amazing. Now the water park! I don't know why but this was a fun sized, clean, well cared for park. Not only did my kids (teens) enjoy, but also my wife and I.Now, Storm Lake! We love this little town; restaurants, shops, the lake, together with a playground, beach, bike and kayak rental....its just perfect!

I didn't stay here. I only came to dine at the Regatte Grill. Meals were good but it took 3 people way to much time to figure out how to seat our party of six.

Great spot to stay if you re in Storm Lake, IA. Stayed here 5 nights for business. No issues. There are a few spots where the hotel could use some love, but nothing major.Would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel staff are very friendly. The view of the lake is pretty. The rooms are pretty basic yet clean. The beds are not very comfortable with flat pillows. You can hear your neighbors talking and those above you moving around. This was a downside for us.The outdoor waterpark was small but perfect size for families. The indoor water park water temperature could be warmer.Rooms: The rooms were clean and basic. The pillows are very flat and we all woke up with a back ache.Food & drinks: The breakfast buffet didn't have a whole lot to offer. The eggs, pancakes and biscuits and gravy were not very flavorful.

We came for the day to enjoy the waterpark and it was a great time! We loved that they had little life jackets on hand for any kids that wanted/needed one. And were extremely impressed with the attentive lifeguards! There was something for all ages to stay occupied there. We were disappointed in the lack of 2 person tubes, and a few slides were closed (red&white coin drop specifically). But the other slides, indoor pool, and diving board made up for it! We'll definitely be back soon!

In general, the hotel proved to be pleasant, boasting a restaurant that caters to guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, it conveniently adjoins a spacious water park, providing ample opportunities for enjoyable family activities. The surroundings are well-maintained, and the prices offered are quite reasonable. There is a nice walking path behind the hotel that leads to parks and a nice lake.Walkability: Behind the hotel you have a nice path to walk down the lake.. it was nice a quiet.

Staff was friendly and the room was nice, but the pool was closed and that's the only reason we chose to stay there. Apparently they are redoing both the indoor and outdoor pool so it will likely be closed for a while.

I enjoyed the Diving board and the slides. I have gone to every water park in Wisconsin Dells and this is cheap in comparison. It's best for locals, I wouldn't recommend driving over 2hours for this place (I drove 7) Very Kid friendly, and Hotel service is great and very helpful. It is an indoor and outdoor water park admission. Most people go after 2pm from what I noticed and spend their whole day there. It's not too crowded.

This is our third visit here in 6 years. I have a 7 and 10 year old. The room isn t fancy but it was very clean and spacious. Our view was very pretty. It was fun to open the curtains, have coffee and look out onto a pretty, but frozen lake. It was relaxing. We had a nice time at the indoor swimming area on Friday night and really enjoyed the food at the restaurant. The staff-front desk (especially Sam), wait staff and pool staff were all very polite and accommodating. Very relaxing and pleasant stay! Kids loved it-great break from the snow.

Stayed in one of the cabins on site and you can tell that they need some updates. Bedroom door handle kept falling off, beds were not the best, a bunch of stains on couch in living room. had family that stayed in another one and you couldn't open their patio door from the outside and was in the same shape as our cabin. Waterpark wise was very nice. they were closed the day we arrived due to mechanical issues, however worked to get it open the next day. they didn't have many 2 person tubes, which was a disappointment since having 2 kids that that would have been old enough to do the tube slides with an adult. overall the pool area was the best area for us for the stay and made the tripNearby activities: did mini golf with the family and it was set up nicely, and was decently priced. only down side was it was hot out and they didn't have a lot of shade there.Food & drinks: restaurant was good food- we were surprised they weren't busier. prices were great and even the kids meal had a lot of food with it

So, an honest review of the hotel. It has a beautiful, peaceful location. The hotel has an attractive facade. When you walk into the lobby, it's great because the view of the lake sets guests at ease. The restaurant has a lovely open fire at night, which is nice to sit out by as you listen to the water gently hitting the rocks and the birds callling around you, is all very peaceful. But that was the most satisfying aspect of the hotel stay. All in all, It's a nice enough place.I think at some point, it was a nicer, higher end hotel. The photos look very good. But it's looking tired, and needs some love. The carpets are quite worn out and stained. Our room had two drawers that were broken/ wouldn't stay closed. Housekeeping cleans every fourth day. They don't bring basics such as towels, toilet paper, or soap unless you call and ask for it. At $259/ night + a $20 resort fee. Keeping the room supplied with these things should be a bare minimum. We checked in to our room, to find that we were situated right beside the restaurant ventilation system. We tried to ignore it. But we quickly realized that enjoying that lake view balcony, or the possibility of sleep at all wouldn't be happening. My husband went down to talk with them. They were nice enough to switch rooms for us. We appreciated that.I originally booked the King Family Suite because it advertised "Full kitchen" this was not at all accurate as there was only a fridge and microwave. I think travelers should be aware of this. We were moved to the Lake View Queen Suite. We now had a mini fridge, but surely still enough to hold our goodies, so no problem. As I put our food and snacks away, I realized there were no utensils, plates, bowls, cups.... nothing of any kind. So we went to the local grocery store and picked these up.We have stayed in many hotels, always with a full kitchen. They always have actual kitchens complete with stoves, and are supplied with the basic essentials for meal preparation as advertised. This was bare bones, completely empty. A mini fridge and a microwave is NOT a kitchen. Basic hotel accommodations, which is fine if that is what is advertised and that is what is expected. We had two children with us. We asked if hotel staff could bring one extra blanket and one extra pillow. We were told that. They have those things, but they just don't have the time to bring anything to guest rooms. That if we wanted anything, we could come and get whatever we needed. Again, not necessarily a problem. We are capable of gathering these things. But unprofessional at best. There is no breakfast continental or otherwise served except for at the restaurant. Guest services does have donuts available for $2 each. The restaurant was fine. The food was satisfying. Typical of anything one would find in the midwest. No complaints. It was always quiet and the servers we quick and friendly. The outside dining is a really nice option. If you have to sit inside due to weather or preference, it's all windows. So either way, nice views. The waterpark is great for the kids, slides are fun for everyone who likes slides. Lazy river. Diving boards. Zero entry area, Little kids area separate from big kids area. Indoor and outdoor fun. Pool isn't overcrowded. We went during the week, weekends may be a different story. I don't know. Only a few down sides... pools close at 8pm sharp, during the Summer, that is REALLY early. And there is no hot tub to relax after lots of running around with the kiddos.Noteworthy details: REALLY QUIET in Storm Lake and really not a whole lot for adults to do outside of playing with the kids and relaxing at the restaurant. There is a small movie theater, a great Ice cream/ candy shop VERY expensive though, a super sweet donut shop, Tropical snow (shaved Ice) in the summer months, a few restaurants, bars, and shops. It seemed many businesses open/ close random hours not according to what is on their posted hours. Kayaks and bikes can affordably be rented. Pontoon boats can be rented at $450 for 8 hours. There is a small beach and playground a short walk from the hotel. For those who like beautiful architecture, there is lots to admire in Storm lake. There is also an abundance of trees and nature to enjoy. However, in spite of all of the beauty of the area, and fun to be had at the water park, there was one thing that we couldn't escape the whole time we were there, no matter the time of day, or the activity. Sadly the smell of pig poop followed us everywhere. We wished somebody, in some review had mentioned this, somewhere. I never saw it, maybe we missed it.

We went to Kings Pointe Resort over Father's Day weekend. We had not gotten out of town yet this summer and thought it was the perfect opportunity to get out of town for a couple days. We traveled from Omaha so our travel time was about 2 1/2 hours. We traveled with friends, but in our family we had three young children, 9, 7, and 4. This was a great place to take our little family. We ended up booking the queen suite Lakeview. Make sure when you're booking if you want to see the water that you select Lakeview instead of northview which I believe is the view of the parking lot. Highly recommend paying a bit extra for the view as there are balconies attached to each room with a couple chairs to let you soak in the scenery. The rooms were clean and all the linens and bedding was nice. I will say that some things were a little dusty, but I will also say we had our door open to the balcony if anyone thinks that could contribute. It wasn't enough to bother us. The rooms come w light blankets and I was glad I had our kids bring their own blankets. The hotel staff did give us additional blankets at the front desk. There is a nice set up in the suite we were in with plenty of cabinet space, a microwave, a nice sized mini fridge and small kitchen sink and counter space. Plenty of room for me to prep some lunch and snacks. We did eat at the on-site restaurant one morning for their brunch buffet 12.99 per person and 4 and under were free. FYI the cost of the buffet doesn't include drinks - if anyone is it isn't used to that. Those are extra. The water park was great, I like that it's close enough you can keep an eye on more areas than you would think. I will say I was so impressed with the lifeguards and staff at pools and waterslides. They were always watching, always moving, and taking their jobs very seriously. Kudos to the water park staff for sure. There is also a snack shack at the waterpark where you can get snacks, alcohol, drinks, etc. You can even order a pizza if you want as there is an indoor snack shack and pool as well. We only went to the indoor pool one time and spent the majority outside, but we preferred the outdoor pools personally. There was a trail that ran around the lake to walk along, as well as a fun beachfront and public park within a 10 minute walk..or less depending how long the people in your parties legs are. :)All in all, we look forward to visiting again in the future and recommend this as a great family friendly option to spend a weekend or more at.

Lakeside room was spacious. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Rooms are cleaned every three days. Restaurant has beautiful view of the lake and the food is good. We would stay again. Understand millions to be spent on updates.Safety: Stairs into dining area are a bit of a challenge. Damp moping floors during breakfast and dinner should be reconsidered.Walkability: Walking path along lake is very relaxing.Food & drinks: Good breakfast buffet. Excellent burgers! Good selection of mixed drinks.

Rooms ok. Wet carpet next to the bed in 105. Not sure if leak from bathroom or elsewhere. No blanket on bed. Front desk said they would bring one but I must have fallen asleep and didn't hear them knock. My daughter found it outside the door. Staff friendly and helpful . Noisy floor above until after 10. Kids running in their room. Charge for breakfast.

Never been to the indoor waterpark decided to have my daughters bday party here seemed like great packages balloons pizza drinks water park passes... balloons were six balloons blown up no helium laying on a table, no organization didn't even pass out wrist bands could have brought 30 people had to argue over getting the free drinks and cups didnt even have ice had to go to the hotel ice machines, basically no utensils no plates glad I brought along extra stuff. Ran by students no adults. No one had a clue what was going on. Please no one buy the bday packages not worth the money or stress!

The layout of our double Queen suite was a bit odd, no vent fan in bathroom, one of the soaps was half full, bar of soap was open & faucet was not clean. Beds very uncomfortable! Ppl upstairs walked around all night, train went but a few times in the night & we were right over the front entrance so you hear the doors open and shut all night.Elevator was sketch! View was beautiful, they charge extra for lake view. No complementary breakfast. A little confusing to get to the water park from hotel.Enjoyed water park, only complaints: Slides were bumpy at seams, food stand not efficient set up, and some parts aren't working inside and out, & lastly no hot tub!Didn't interact with staff much but seemed friendlyGreat park & beach very closeRooms: The layout of our double Queen suite was a bit odd, no vent fan in bathroom, one of the soaps was half full, bar of soap was open & faucet was not clean. Very nice staff and clean facility. You can tell they have been working on cleaning it up recently and it looks great. Lifeguards were very attentive and friendly. Excellent price for what you get. Nice being able to leave the pool and go to your room for awhile and then return to the pool. Perfect local getaway for families with young children. Also the views of the lake are amazing. We will definitely be back!

Love bringing the kids here, totally affordable admission prices. There are 8 slides, but one was out of commission/off while we visited. Outside, there's a lazy river, 5 slides (one was broken down), two diving boards, a basketball area in the water, a kiddie section both indoors and outdoors. Inside includes 3 slides, a large kiddie section, a basketball section, an obstacle course with floating lilies you walk on, a tiny lazy river, and the food kiosk. Lines for food can get really long.If there is lightning, they close the outside down until the threat passes and they reopen.Bring your own towels!!! If you haven't gotten a room and just came for the water park, they'll charge you 26$ for a small towel. Not even a beach towel. Just a regular sized towel, similar to the ones from their rooms.Food and drinks are expensive as hell, and they don't allow outside food inside. Eat at McDonalds down the road, or bring your own food and have a picnic at the park next to King's Pointe by the lighthouse. They do serve alcohol. 5$ per beer/seltzer or 20$ for 5.

We got a king lake side view on me and my wife's honeymoon and we were expecting to go to the pool but the inside wasn't open and we wouldn't have booked it that day if we would have done more research, it was sad but it was our fault we didn't read and plan thoroughly. The room was wonderful, wished the pillows were a bit more firm, bring your own pillow if you could significant comfort increase if you do. Blankets were wonderful, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. 10/10 would book properly next time we visit to get happy full experience.Rooms: The room was very spacious, had a very nice TV, I cranked the ac down to like 62 I think for maximum sleeping capacity, the shower was glorious I wish I could have a shower as nice as that at home it was very wide, had long warm water, and for honey mooning it was 'fun'. Room was a 10/10.Safety: Locked with keycard, and deadbolt on inside with balcony to lakeside view that no one could climb up on thankfully. Good safe room.

It has gone downhill a lot over the years. Rooms were clean but very old. Wall paper peeling, very dark, our phone didn t work. Front desk staff was kind but not helpful when it came to check in and phone not working. Fitness center was a dungeon with very old and minimal equipment. The outdoor areas are beautiful and lake view helps bring rating from 1 to 2. They definitely need to do some renovations to improve rooms soon!

Nice waterpark...few complaints tho: no hot tub for the grown ups, and the river is not a "lazy river" as there is no current to push you along. Staff was wonderful tho and the slides were lots of fun. We didn't stay in a room; just drove down to swim.

Rooms are getting older and could use some maintenance repairs. We had a weird sound in the bathroom all the time. Hubby knew if it was just a bad valve, and there was nothing that could be done, so I didn't complain. Just shut the door. Night time front desk lady Kris was a blast. She let our entire family hang out there and socialize till 2 in the morning. It was the best.
