Brought my vehicle to Great Western for a new transmission to be put in. They gave me a used transmission instead that was never agreed upon. The used transmission went out a week later. The manager had said he would talk with the owner about putting in a new transmission for me to make things right but when it was brought up again he denied ever saying he would speak with his boss. When they test drove my vehicle to see if the second used transmission was okay it started overheating. They said it was the thermostat so I paid to have it replaced but it was still overheating. I then paid a tow to have it taken to another shop that told me my head gasket had blown due to them driving the vehicle too long while overheating during their test drive. When speaking with the owner he denied them having any fault when they were the only people driving my vehicle. I do NOT recommend them. TERRIBLE experience.

We rented a 15-passenger van for a group trip to Florida over the holidays. The staff was very pleasant and helpful on the phone when inquiring and booking. There were a few hiccups during pickup, but the team went out of their way to ensure we had the vehicle we needed. Definitely recommend!

Terrible experience for overcharging our card on "cleaning" fees for normal vehicle use. Unauthorized and unacceptable charge for something that should be expected from the rental company is having to clean your vehicles that customers return and not charging an outrageous amount for your inconvenience. Will never recommend or rent from this place again, sticking to the bigger,more professional companies

We have rented over 20 vehicles with Great Western and Alan has taken care of us each time. Whether it was work or personal related, we always get what we need in a timely manner! It has been great as Alan and the rest of the staff are extremely attentive and kind. We also have never had any vehicle issues. We even lost keys once and Alan drove to us with a spare to get us on the road.Great Westerns customer service is why we won t rent from anyone else in Sioux City!

Great prices and service! Quick checkout and check in of car! No additional charges placed after drop off! Always recommend taking photos of your own of dash and overall car condition at drop off. Given Volkswagen Passat, took on trip to Denver, CO, great gas mileage and driving! Clean car too!

If you book a rental vehicle pickup outside of their operating hours, they will not be there and they will not answer the phone, emails, or Facebook messages to make sure someone is there for you to get the vehicle YOU ALREADY PAID FOR. Completely unacceptable.

This place is amazing. I have been renting a car with them for 14 weeks. They ve made it so easy to pay weekly and Alan is always very friendly and professional and you can tell he cares for his customers. I would recommend them for anyone looking to rent a car whether it s for 2 days, 2 weeks or 2 months. It s nice that there are still businesses that cater to the customer and that deliver excellent customer service.

Needed to get on the road asap, went and got a mini van from great western, heater was out and they took care of me right away. Got me another vehicle on the fly and made my experience amazing. Definitely will go back again for the amazing customer service. Thanks again guys!

Last week we rented an 8 passenger Diesel Luxury Van from Great Western to take a long road trip for a football game in Louisiana. The gang at Great Western did an awesome job going over all the details on the van before we left. The ride on this rig is absolutely amazing. Both my wife and 16 year old son were able to drive the van with no problems. The kids watched movies on the 2 TV's in the back the whole time! The back seat lays flat for a bed and 2 of the leather chairs recline back with leg rest. Definitely the most comfortable vehicle I have ever been in. The group at Great Western were extremely knowledgeable & friendly. We will definitely look at renting from them again in the future!

They were friendly, accomidating and just plain wonderful to work with! I am so glad I went thru them while my car was being fixed. I wont go to anyone else! Definitely give them a try.

I use Great Western for van rentals almost weekly and have had a great experience every time. The vans are always clean and ready to go, and the manager Alan is very organized and attentive. I never have to worry about anything with Alan and Great Western.

Allen was so helpful and nice with all the questions we had before our rental , we had never rented from them before . I was calling with different questions almost everyday and he was so helpful . The vehicle we got was definitely what we needed and so perfect for all of us it s what we needed . Ran perfect . We will be renting from them again . Thank you !!

We rented a Toyota Corolla from Great Western Can & Car Rental. The gentleman who helped us was awesome. He was helpful, friendly, courteous, respectful, and had us in the rental car quickly. I highly recommend Great Western Van & Car Rental!

Getting a car rented couldn't have been easier. Very nice people. Great customer service. Plus very fair price. I didn't know this rental place was there. If I ever need another car I will definitely go back to Great Western!

5 stars bcuz they were very nice and greet you soon as you walk in. Rental car was great had no issues quick and easy process. Plus if you don't have a credit card they will let you use your debit card n insurance.

I been going there for a year and some change and so far so good for the most part.i do think they could do better as far as preventative maintenance is concerned(letting me know whats wrong with something I didn't take the car in for)they do get a lot of business too which is a good sign!

I was very disappointed in the service we received after renting a 15 passenger van for a church youth trip this July. We used the van to go to Minneapolis for a week. The van worked well on the way up, and the one other time we used it during the week, but on the return trip home , things changed. The AC went out after making some high-pitched sounds (probably a bearing went out on the compressor). On an extremely warm day, middle of the afternoon, we perspired all the way home (4 1/2 hours). And all they offered us, after repeatedly asking about a discount, was 10% off of our next rental. We will definitely not be using them anytime in the future. While the van may have "goten us home safe and sound," I have to wonder whether something more significant was just around the corner waiting to happen.

Very rude and unprofessional. I just called to inquire about renting a vehicle and their service went in and out or mine who knows but I said im sorry sir did you say you did have vehicles available . He responded by yelling IM LOOKING. so I said you know what sir I'm going to pass because you didn't have any right to yell at me instead of apologizing he just hung up in my face . Learn some customer service respect!
