Had a wonderful experience at dons automotive today. I brought my car in for repairs and was treated with so much kindness from all the workers. Shelly was very kind and picked me up and dropped me off at my house. I am very pleased with the service and will be returning. I highly reccomend.

I have gone to Don s for years. They are so nice. I appreciate that they are always knowledgeable, honest and thorough. Any car mechanic needs I recommend Don s. They are reliable and provide a high quality service.

Fair Friendly and knowledgeable stayed late to get me back to Mississsippi picked up from hotel went out of there way to help me and my family most definitely Recommend them to anyone and everyone Shelley in the office is the most fabulous and very valuable to the company they treated me like family.

They use to be a decent place. Now I have to have my car worked on more than once before they fix it correctly. Very disappointed.

Joy ride test drives. Took my vehicle shopping, left it unlocked and unattended. Called their front desk, got hung up on. Do not recommend!

I drove tow trucks in Omaha and Council bluffs since 2017 and all the places that I could take my vehicle to, I chose Don's. Five star service from five star people.

I had a fantastic experience. The technician Mike was extremely knowledgeable and fixed my van and even found some issues from another shop and fixed those too. Highly recommend and ask for Mike to work on your car

I had a total transmission failure on I-29. Though the car was worth less than the repairs needed, Don's was very helpful, especially since I live all the way in Kansas City. I didn't have to lift a finger. They are handling the salvage and sending me a check for it. They're even sending my plate back. Highly recommend these good, honest, and friendly folks!Service: General repairs & maintenance

They are truly about taking care of their customers. They are one of the few companies that still have customer service. Plus if you are a woman, you can take your vehicle there and they will treat you fairly, you will have nothing to worry about. This was my first visit there. They replaced an engine for my girlfriend. She handled everything with them and they were 100 percent honest and truthful with her. Did everything for a fair price. They have earned her business for life. I'm a mechanic and they have earned mine also when I don't have time to do it myself. Very impressive place and owners.

I had a draw in my car, that killed 2 batteries in less than a year. Toyota dealership tried to find it, but couldn't. Told me it was ok, and 2 months later I couldn't start my car again. Don's Automotive found the draw and fixed the issue. They were very professional, helpful, and friendly. Would definitely use them again.Service: BatteryService: Battery

5 star business, just hands down an incredible place. Absolutely wonderful people to talk to, they do GREAT work, and they are honest. Is there really anything else you need in a vehicle repair/maintenance shop? Being honest, it did take over a month from the shop, BUT I took it in there letting them know I was not in a rush at all. They did let me know that the schedule was pretty busy right away, and that it may take a little longer than normal. When I told them I was not in a rush, I gave them no deadline, they were very thankful. Technically, they could have put my vehicle on the backburner for months, but they did not. They inspected the truck, called me AND walked me through what they found AND told me what should be fixed/what didn't need to be fixed right away, and then repaired the truck AND gave me a discount! Shelly is seriously the nicest lady and and every mechanic at Dons is very friendly as well. I have been taking my car here for 15 years and have always been more than satisfied with the service! I highly recommend!

Back when I did drive, Don's guy Juan used to fix my car when it broke. Last time I was there it was bitterly cold out. Shelly invited my fiancee and I in for a cup of coffee. The late Don Brown would be proud of how Juan and his daughter Shelly are handling his legacy.

Took our truck their initially to have a starter replaced, driver door lock fixed and a light replaced. Simple right? Well...three weeks later and we're now in a worse situation than when we initially started. They remove the starter and find the transmission is bad. Ok, it's under warranty so they "fix" or replace it with a rebuilt. This, by the way, takes an entire week! They tell us it's fixed and ready to go. Pick it up, start it and it sounds like a freight train!!! The door lock is still not fixed. Seems the only thing done during this week was put on a new light cover with two simple screws (I could have done that). So, we take it back for what they say is a one hour fix...turned into over 3 hours...it's done. Lock is "fixed" and it's ready to go. Sounds good on starting. Drive away, or begin to, and it is difficult to shift into 3rd gear. Call Don's AGAIN and their response "well, we can't get you in until next Tuesday".... Meantime, the lock has failed again and you now have to enter thru passenger side and crawl over. When a customer, that has been patiently, and I do mean patiently, waiting for 3 weeks now calls and says this still isn't right, wouldn't you, as a "reputable" business find a way immediately to correct this issued. So today, we have an appointment to take it back in to hopefully have this finally taken care of, Don's calls and says, "our mechanic that has been working with your vehicle is out today so we are going to have to reschedule"! Are you kidding me!!! I would defiantly NOT recommend family, friends or anyone else to take their vehicle there for any reason. There is no way this should be happening with certified mechanics. Their customer service is horrible. Why in the world would you return a customers vehicle to them in worse condition then what it was when dropped off and not take immediate action to fix it. Very disappointed. STAY AWAY FROM DON'S AUTOMOTIVE!Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

I took my daughter's car into Don's. It's a 1998 Saab 900SE. Unsupported by Saab at this point, so we felt lucky they were willing to work on it. They had to do some repairs that required them to take the transmission out. They did the work and my daughter drove her car off the lot. Over the next week she noticed the gears slipping and when she put the car into reverse, it was like it was in neutral. I believed that the transmission may have been put in incorrectly, based on the timing and those problems not existing before we took the car to them. It's not clear to me if this was just an unfortunate coincidence or not. However, I brought this problem to Shelley's attention. She was kind and helpful. Don's ordered a used (presumably) transmission on their dime and installed it. My daughter picked up her car and it's been running fine. Friendly people at this shop, willing to help and make things right for the customer!

I love Dons auto . I lived in council bluffs for 15 years and has serviced several of my family members cars , trucks . Nothing but respect and kindness when you interact with them . And Ms. Shelly is so awesome the kindness that she shows to the customers is so beautiful and awesome . Don auto and employees thank u so much for all the great service that u all have given us . About 10 months ago needed the starter replaced on my car. It was in a pretty awkward location so I figured I'd let a repair shop handle installing it.Process was straight forward. Booked the next time I could bring my car in and brought the new starter in with me for them to install. Got it done quickly and my car back back up and running.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Was down in Omaha from Sioux City for a medical appointment. I was just getting ready to get on the interstate and my car lost power. So I went to Don's Automotive told them my situation and they got me fixed up and on my way. Out of the kindness of their hearts they didn't charge me. Now don't expect not to be charged this is a business lol. But great people willing to help somebody in a bad spot. Thank you again!

I bought a car in August from Edward's Autogroup. The 1st week I had the car it had problems sent it to Edward's service 4 times and Baxter in omaha twice. The last 7 months I had to drive my moms car and pay for a car that would not work. Edward's told me I bought the car so it's my problem I do not recommend buying a car from them. Volkswagen could not find the problem. Took it to Don's Automotive and they had the car for two weeks and they found and fixed the problem. I am truly grateful that they treated me with understanding and respect something Edward's needs to learn. The last 7 months have been so stressful I finally do not have to worry about my car.

This shop always takes great care of both mine and my wife s vehicles. I appreciate the communication about what s going on when I bring my car in for repairs, and they always let me know if there are things that need fixed or things that can wait and how much it will cost before working on it. My wife wasn t sure they would be able to work on her BMW, but after taking it in there (to find 3 of 4 engine mounting bolts sheared off) her car is good to go and she trusts them now too!

These guys charged me one thousand dollars to fix my problem then lied to me about it being fixed. Five minutes after driving away the problem persisted!! We called them and asked for a refund and they said no! They did tell me to come back so they could fix it, again. Why would i pay them twice to fix the same problem? Yeah scam artist. They started by telling me I needed a timing chain and a transmission they did the timing chain Amoco was able to replace the transmission for a third of the cost did they were going to charge me. Three days later after the timing chain was allegedly repaired my motor was locked up, my motor was locked up because the repair was not done properly, however they did put a new motor in it and I was told there was new gaskets and a tuneup however after many oil leaks and Amoco doing my tuneup the car still runs like trash.Service: Engine repair

Had a great experience at Dons. From the time I walked in, they were so friendly and welcoming. They took a look at my car and then processed to take me out back once they were able to determine what was wrong and explained what they were going to do. Would highly recommend. Very genuine and great people
