I have been taking my everyday driver to Downtown Auto for all of my maintenance and repair needs for about 3 years now. They are always timely with repairs, fair and honest with their prices, and are always friendly and answer all of my questions thoroughly. I would rather wait to get a service appointment there than drop my car off with another shop because they can get me in sooner. They also have Great Danes in the shop, which is a bonus! Dog people are my kind of people! Big thanks to everyone at Downtown Auto for always taking good care of me!

very kind and helpful. had an emergency and i couldn t find anywhere willing to help other than them! for being unplanned and unexpected, they handled everything quickly and efficiently. i would highly recommend both their auto-shop and tow company :)

Quentynn did an amazing job towing me out of a very tight spot today. It was not an easy tow for sure. He was incredibly kind, and patient even though I was in a full panic. They were also super fast in getting to me, when I even expected I would have quite a wait considering where I got towed out of. He definitely deserves 10 stars instead of 5, and a raise! This review is for two tow jobs. Quentynn was the only person we could find to tow two trucks off the side of the road that gelled up in the cold temps. He had excellent customer service and was very fast at moving the vehicles. He stayed in contact with us until the jobs were done. The fees were reasonable. I was very pleased with the service we received from Quentynn and highly recommend him for towing.Service: Car towing

I will have to say that i experienced something i have never experienced before , when I called downtown auto service about hauling something for me, The response was so quick I had to hurry to get to where my tow was needed, so they didn't beat me there.The owner showed up on the job to make sure all was going well, and Quentin was wonderful to work with.As a Veteran is nice to work with companies that hire Vets.I would absolutely recommend downtown auto clinic for any of your towing needs, And if this is the way they run their auto clinic I will absolutely take my cars there for the repairs that I don't do myself.Thanks Gentlemen for a great experience at a fair price.Clark RutledgeService: Special vehicle towing

Highly recommend! We had a breakdown late at night/early morning in the frigid -30 degree temps. One call to Tyler and he was on his way to help. He went above and beyond to not only tow our semi but offered to tow the trailer as well. His kindness and professionalism eased our worries in a very stressful situation! Had truck towed in as no start. They got it started by "cleaning a sensor", then told me I needed a tune up. Before I could even ask to have that done was told "we don't do tune ups here, but we got it started you can come get it."I could understand last year when I had my Cadillac towed in and ya'll couldnt fix it but a Ford truck tune up!

I own and operate Iowa RoofPros and we were trying to dump our trailer at the Clinton County Iowa Landfill. We realized that the battery was dead and we needed roadside assistance. We called a few companies and finally got an answer at downtown auto. They said they would send someone one to help and they did. Jamie was super professional and quick about helping us get back onto the road.

By far the best towing service I ever had. I called and 10 minutes later tow truck was there. The guy was very nice. He towed my truck right to my driveway. And even gave me a ride. All for a very very cheep rate. Downtown auto will be the first I ever call again.

My truck broke down, leaving me stranded. AAA was of no use getting a tow. The wonderful people at Downtown Auto Clinic came to my aid. They Came quickly and we were kind and courteous. Once they got my truck back to their shop they very quickly diagnose the problem and gave me a call. I picked my truck up today, less than 24 hours later, perfectly repaired. And I loved the fantastic doggies that they have in their shop! Gentle giants.

Awesome place Doug was super honest about my car issue. Called me prior to doing something extra. My oil leak has been fixed. Car was returned the same day. Those guys worked hard to get this done fast. Great service great price! I will be back!!!!!

Very fast and very professional! Highly recommend if you need work done on your car in a timely manner! I called to schedule appointment and they were booked but were able to squeeze me in and I was amazed at the speed and professionalism on how fast my car got done, thanks guys!

I've had everything done here from a transmission to a radiator and I have to say this is by far the best place to take your car in Clinton. They're knowledgeable and straight forward. Troy is my mechanic, but all of the guys are great. I've known them for over 5 years now and there isn't anything I wouldn't trust them to do on my car. If I can't do it, I know they can and in a timely manner at that.

I recently had a entire new motor put into my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer, which was no easy task. Troy and the rest of the crew did an excellent job. It took four days which is timely for removing and then installing a new motor. I would recommend Downtown Auto Clinic for a major repair like this or something as simple as an oil change.

A couple years ago. I had the worst experience getting my car detailed ever. I'm assuming it was one of the owners kids detailing my car. Which was fine, however they cracked my bumper badly. The owner and his daughter brought it back to me, told me what happened and the owner pretty much demanded that I get it fixed at a shop in town I already had bad experience with. Figures. So I took it too Classic's because I have always trusted them. They gave me a quote. Me being friendly, I took it to the owner. He made me sit in the waiting room for 20 minutes before coming out only to scream at me for getting a quote somewhere else for the damage that was on MY CAR. He said if that's how you want to play it then that's what we'll do. I left with saying good luck fighting state farm. Come to find out he paid Classic's without going through insurance. Wonder why..? Would never recommend this place to anyone.

I needed a tow from Fulton IL to Davenport IA and the young man who showed up was very professional, polite and courteous. He stayed with me at the dealership and made sure everything was okay. I would highly recommend them.

Troy is my mechanic he changes the oil in my car & puts on new tires for me. Downtown auto is the best place to have any work done on your car. All the mechanics who work there are great. They try to get you in as soon as they can

Our cars engine was starting to lock up so we had it towed there and ask them to tare apart the engine to see why its doing so and fix it. All they did was change the oil, started it and because it ran they thought because it ran it was fine. Then suggested that we have our tie rod ends and a ball joint replaced so we have it done, and it cost over $900 when I drove the vehicle home the engine seized up and now we have a 2010 Dodge Charger for a lawn ornament we called and asked if they tore the engine apart and they said no they changed the oil in it turned over so they thought it was good to go. Thanks a lot for nothing

Honest mechanics who work hard to keep your vehicle in excellent working condition. Their tow trucks run 24/7 for unlocks, jump starts, accidents and more. They even went and picked up a vehicle i purchased out of state for me. They do everything vehicle wise but body work.

This is a great shop to get your car fixed. The mechanic Troy is the best and he knows what he's doing! Every time something goes wrong with our cars Troy figures it out and has it fixed within a couple hours. A little pricey, but well worth it! Thanks "Troy".

These guys are very good at spotting potential trouble spots when they do their routine maintenance like oil changes. In one instance, they found a cracked frame on my Toyota Tacoma. This led to the discovery of an un-publicized recall on this defect. I ended up with a new Toyota Tacoma out of this deal.They are fast in their repairs, and the job is done on time, as promised.

I couldn't get my vehicle to start so I had it towed to downtown auto clinic which their sign says complete auto service but they charged $65 for the tower all of two blocks just to tell me it needs a tune up and they don't do that their okay ? So what do you do ? Stay awake from this place !!! Very rude people as well not a good experience at all

Fabulous service!!!! I took my car in because the caliper was stuck they got me in immediately. Reasonable price and doggies give free kisses!!! Highly recommended!!
