I have heard good things about them. But when I had vehicle issues and required a tow, I spent some time calling through the list of towing companies in the are. Lake towing never answered the phone, and never called back. The time of day was around 3:30pm,Edit: changed to 1 star after the owners response to the review was entirely negative and rude. Will not use them in the future.

Needed some help changing our fuel filter on our way home to MN. Lake Towing in Clear Lake IA was on another call but recommended Vandusseldorp Truck repair,who helped us out. He said he would help us if vtr wasn't able to and even called to be sure we got the help we needed.Good people! Thanks again!

If you want to see a horrible company look no further. Took pictures of a tow driver laying in wait to tow anyones vehicle trying to get food from the food bank in mason city. Already under a finacial burden nothing says we care and understand more than a predatory company preying on those under a finacial burden. Very warm and compassionate of lake towing to take their 100k fladbed and take from those in need. How very sickening. This is appauling its winter, and families are struggling. Know what they need a company to take their transportation, hold it for ransom, and put community members in fear...all before the christmas holiday. If your looking for soulless, look no further than lake towing. And the opperator is extremely rude and condesending. I would recomend anywhere else to take your bisssness than here.

Heading back from vacation and we had a tire blow out on our trailer that bent the fender on our trailer. Our roadside assistance was useless! So we started calling towing companies nearby we called 6 others who were unable to help us out and by the time we got to Lake Towing we were almost ready to give up! But they were ready and willing to help us out! They were very helpful and went above and beyond. I ve had other negative experiences with towing companies who have had awful customer service but Lake Towing had great customer service! The price they charged us was very reasonable. I would highly recommend them!Service: Tire change

These guys are the best!! We were stranded on N. Lake View Dr. between 4th and 3rd Ave. The kicker is that it was the morning of Clear Lake Color and Wind Kite Festival last February! They did what it took to get us out of all that traffic, which was no small feat. Loaded us up, fixed our van and got us on our way. So thankful for their quality service and help!!!Service: Car towing

After being rear ended on my bike and camper on the way to the freedom rally they were dispatched to tow my bike and camper. Showed up quickly even had a condor with wheels on it to load the bike rather then just dragging it up like most Companys would. Ended up I didn t need a tow because the driver spent 3 hrs helping me remove my hitch when we couldn t get it bent back away from the tire. He even called the insurance company for me to make sure they guy that hit me had a valid policy. Then he took the bill right to the agent rather then making me pay. Great guy super helpful and professional. If I ever need a tow in that area again I know who I m calling. He went over and above on a 90* day for sure.

Thank you for your help over the Christmas break when we were stranded. We were a mess from being stranded in -11 degrees with a -35 + windshield with our animals. You helped us in every way & we are so very grateful! You helped us to try to find service and you helped us with the cost. We were about 2 hours from home when our tire almost came off. We were towing a travel trailer as well with our family along. They came out to get us and the trailer on the side of I-35 within 20 minutes or so. They towed the vehicle and the trailer back to a shop where we could stay until they went to get the parts to fix the tire. All of this was on a Sunday as well!!!!! We were back on the road within 3 hours! The gentlemen that helped us was beyond amazing! He was courteous, professional and went beyond the expected to take care of our vehicle and our family. Very fast service and nice. I went into a ditch probably off the road way about 70ft and down a steep slope on the Avenue of the Saints the other night and it was pretty well stuck, Lake Towing was fast, kind, and courteous, making fun and playful banter in the side of the road took my mind off of what happened and it was overall a really good experience. Unfortunately I didn t catch the drivers name as we were in a rush to get off the road, so whoever was driving the Black flatbed on Friday night, thank you so much, it was amazing service.

What an amazing experience. We had a flat on I-35 in the early evening on Thursday night on our way to our daughter's college graduation in Omaha. No service providers answered except Lake Towing. Not only did Todd provide the incident services needed - a new tire for the trailer - but also saw that the treads were spreading on the spare, so he replaced the spare as well. We can't thank him enough for taking the time, late into the evening, to get us back on our way. Forever grateful.

Great guy, super fast response and very helpful! Even dropped my trailer with an oversize load at the kwik trip and towed the truck to a shop nearby! Highly recommended!

Todd, the owner, was exceptional in his service when we had to have our car towed while traveling from Colorado. He literally saved the day for us and did it with professionalism and efficiency. To quote my husband, his "faith was renewed in humanity" by the way Todd helped us! We highly recommend this company.

These guys went above and beyond to take care of my fiance and I when we were stuck 2 hours from home. Not only did they call every shop and everyone they knew to see if they had our tire available they also came to us to get our bum tire, drove to pick the new one up and have it put on the rim, and then came back to us to put it back on all for less money than I usually pay for a single tire replacement. I would recommend Lake Towing to any and everyone.

Lake Towing was very helpful! AAA called them for me to tow my RV. They showed up quickly, and although they couldn't tow my RV because it was too big (AAA's fault for not communicating with them well). They still got me going and the driver was super friendly and helpful. He even followed me to the mechanic to make sure I got there safely. I'm grateful to them!

Awesome quick help when stuck with a broken down truck on the freeway while towing my 38 foot camper on a 95 degree day. A true angel of a helper. I would recommend 100 percent. They arrived immediately and towed both truck and camper to safety. Truck to the shop and camper into free storage while truck was fixed. Thanks Lake towing. You are awesome.

My alternator went out 3 1/2 hours from home and every auto repair shop was closed. We used our insurances roadside assistance and they sent these guys. Wasnt really sure where to have my vehicle towed and the guy offered to find an alternator and get me back on the road. What he didn't know is that we were having one of the worst weeks of our lives and he turned a negative day into a day of blessing. If I ever need anything for one of my vehicles while I'm in Iowa again, I will call these guys first no matter the cost.

Top notch service! I ran out of diesel just short of the gas station and Lake towing showed up extremely quick with all the right tools and got right to work bleeding my fuel lines of air bubbles to get diesel to the engine. Very knowledgeable as to what needed to get done and made it happen quick. After he got my truck running I asked what I owed him and he kindly said nothing. What an incredibly nice gesture. I can t thank you enough for getting me back on the road so quickly. Anyone needing help in the area I highly recommended Lake Towing.

Lake Towing was contracted as a third party vendor for my insurance's roadside assistance. I had a dead car in the garage that I needed to jump start. The drivers did not knock on my door, ring the bell, call, text, or notify me in any capacity when they arrived. I had a car outside on the driveway and my dead car was in the garage. They could tell people were home but did not make an attempt to contact me before entering my home and garage. I didn't even know they went into my garage and touched my car until they honked their tow truck and yelled that they were done. They started to drive away as I stepped outside. I tried to question them because I assumed they had just arrived. Every time I asked for clarification, the drivers acted belligerent and patronizing. When I asked them what was going on, one of the drivers got out of the truck and very condescendingly showed me how to put my foot on the break to turn on my car. They seemed like they were in a rush to leave and didn't want to answer any of my questions. I don't believe corona virus was the issue because the drivers weren't wearing masks and were within 6 feet of me while showing me how to "push the power button to turn on my car"...I don't understand how the bare minimum of notifying your customer that you're at their home and going to work on their car is so difficult. Yes, I requested the service. Yes, the job got done. But how uncomfortable and disrespectful is it to have someone inside your home without your knowledge? Unprofessional.

Todd saved my bacon at 1:30 am on the side of the freeway. This guy understood my nerves, fears, and emotions. In a time when it s easy to not care, and just collect a paycheck... this guy did more than just get my vehicle to a reputable shop! He kept me from bursting into tears too... that s priceless to me! Very very unprofessional and disrespectful. Was like i was talking to a toddler they litterally started yelling and saying blah blah blah over the phone wouldnt answer any of my questions even tho they have my property. I will be using my phone recording to sue n get the man fired!!! The police reffered me told me lake towing has the van!!! They gave me two towing companies it could've gone to affordable towing in mason city and lake towing .affordable towing doesnt have it actually helped me locate it at lake towing along with the police who said it was their !! You will be getting fired for poor buiness and verbal abuse!! And yes i am special Thankyou!!! Just trying to do what the police said lol!!!
