Edit to a previous review - I rated this place five stars because they encourage it for a coupon and first time I came in. The manager there was very nice and I had no issues. However, second time I came in - it was for a standard oil change and they informed me I needed like 4k worth of work done on my car. Now my car isn't that old, and I know enough about cars to know that half the things on their 'list' wasn't necessary. Not to mention the prices they are trying to charge - such as 40 dollars to change a filter I can change myself for half the price. The lady at the desk showed me the filter (which felt a little shaming, I did not ask for an example) and would not let it go when I told them I was uninterested in getting all this work done.Came in again for diagnostics. I called for quote and they told me 129. I get there, and they're charging me $150 because they conveniently forgot to mention the quote was without tax. Pro-tip to not make people angry, mention that. If I hadn't wanted to know what was wrong with my vehicle sooner rather than later, I would have left. What ended up telling me was wrong this time had nothing to do with previous 'needed' work, and they kept it vague enough that a second opinion didn't even know what they were talking about.I will not be using this business again.

Normally when I come here they are great with my vehicle. However this time when I brought it in it was completely diagnosed wrong. They said the reason my check engine light was on due to a timing issue and it will cost $2700. I immediately call the dealership in town and take it in cause I have a warranty and they come back saying that they are way off and it was just my vcct circuit was covered in oil and they need to just replace that and the plugs for $485 charge. Like I said I don t if this was a one time accident or they just have an unqualified technician working there cause that s a huge difference in the amount being charged. My suggestion you might want to check your technicians background again.

Bought a new set of tires and had it aligned Midas. After about 5,000 mi the rear tires are starting to wear only on the inside. Took it to another shop. Shop and was told The only thing in spec was the front toe. On my receipt it says that they set all adjustable parameters to manufacture specification. Do not take your car to Midas to get it aligned.

The store manager was very honest and pleasant to work with. He gave me options and I never felt pressured into purchasing a service I couldn't afford. Thanks for being a great member of this community!Service: Oil changeService: Oil change

I have had several issues with Midas over the last year since Willy left. Most recently a couple months back I came in and wanted an alignment. Told I needed tie rods. I said go ahead and change them. Was told tires were good. Wrong. Back tires were so bad the cords were showing and as a matter of fact I blew a tire about a week later. Also, passener rear caliper was leaking. I knew about it but they never said anything about it. These people do not care about safety. Actually it was so bad it left a puddle on the shop floor. I changed this out myself including pads. So I just had a mechanic tell me that the front bushings are bad and will need another alignment. Well, this is yet another thing that was missed by Midas. Now, some people may say, well you drive and parts degrade and I do get this. However, I work from home and have maybe driven 300 miles since the last time it in. These parts were bad. Midas doesn't check what needs to be done properly and this mechanic questions how an alignment was done in the first place. I have given them many chances, even buying a set of new tires from them which will get ruined if these bushings aren't replaced. Folks, these bushings are so bad thwt there are wear marks and chunks of rubber gone and this should've been brought to my attention.

Your blatantly generic responses to your dissatisfied customers tells me all I need to know. I'll be keeping my business with one of your slightly more expensive but reliable competitors. Sounds like you need to clean house.

I had my front brakes replaced on 03/21/23 at 95,188 miles. I also had other work done that day, including having a fog light replaced. After I got home I turned on my fog lights to make sure they both worked, and discovered the fog light that I was charged for was not replaced. I had to drive back to have it installed.Last Friday week when I got off the interstate and slowed down my steering wheel was shaking so bad I thought I was about to lose a tire. 9/19/23 we took my vehicle into the shop I usually go to for any tire related stuff and found out the issue was my brakes, not my tires. Apparently something about how they were installed in March made them overheat, severely damaging my brakes and rotors, and I needed them replaced. My vehicle had 101,044 miles on it. Because it was a safety issue I had the brakes replaced rather than risking driving back to Midas to see if the brakes were covered under warranty.Brakes should last longer than 6 months of regular driving.

When you see a place like Midas that's been around for so many years you can't remember, longer than even yourself has been around, most everyone you know too, you have to figure there's a reason.. places don't just keep on going.. these people know their stuff ...

Long review, will try to keep it short. I would not recommend this particular location. My vehicle developed a hole in the muffler while on vacation. Called Midas on 1st Ave to schedule the replacement for the following week when I returned. Was told that they would call the parts supplier ahead of time so that the new muffler would be delivered the day before my appointment. I arrived at the scheduled time and waited 45 minutes for them to tell me that the muffler wasn t in and it would be delivered about 3 PM.There was a woman there at the same time having some maintenance work being done. The service person came into the lobby and told her that her car needed a new ball joint. The work on her car would not take long and she would be on her way with minimal delay. The time was approximately 8:45 AM.I returned at 3 PM only to see the same woman still sitting in the waiting area. I asked her if she had been there all day to which she replied that she had. She told me that in replacing the ball joint the mechanic had broken the axle and that had to be replaced as well. I do not know if they charged her for the new part or not.My vehicle was brought into the work bay and in approximately 2 hours the install was completed. The cost and time were what I expected so no concerns there. However, upon opening the door I immediately noticed the dirt/grease stains on the door handle and seat upholstery (see photos).I said nothing though I was very disappointed in the general service received. The following day after cleaning the interior, I thought I should inspect the quality of the installation. I ll admit I am not a welder and no one will see the work (see photo) but the welding is some of the worst I have ever come across. In addition, the new muffler either had a crease in it from poor storage and handling or the mechanic did it during installation. Either way it was another disappointment in a long list of complaints. There is also a good deal of pitting in the muffler itself which leads me to think that the quality is far less than OEM.This wasn t a case where different levels of quality were an option. It is supposed to meet OEM specs but I question that indeed this is a quality replacement.I would strongly recommend against using this particular auto service specialist. The quality of the work is less than desirable, the parts of suspect quality, and the service is sub-par. As much as auto service and maintenance costs, you can t afford to waste time and money on bad service, poor workmanship and cheap parts. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.Service: Exhaust

Made an appointment for an oil change at 3:00 a couple weeks ago. Told them I'd need a new oil drain plug when I made the appointment and gave them the year, make, and model of my van. When I got there, the woman at the front desk said it would be 45-60 minute wait. "For an oil change??" I asked, incredulously."That's what they tell me to say," the woman responded.I replied that I would not expect it to take more than 30 minutes. At any rate, it ended up taking an hour and fifteen minutes, above and beyond their max 60-minute estimate, because they didn't bother to order the oil drain plug until after they started changing the oil. So I had to sit and wait during my work hours for the plug to arrive from an auto parts store because of their negligence and incompetence. To top it all off, they didn't put a paper floor mat in, so their boot prints full of oil and grease and dirt are all over my carpet floor mat. Thanks a lot.Welcome to the new "Midas Touch."

In and out for an oil change in under 45 minutes, the manager James is a really nice guy and gave me a clear rundown of other issues they saw while they were in there.

James Sims was very kind and helpful with my wife and I as new customers and applied coupons for us that we didn t have, which he didn t need to do. The oil change went smoothly, and the inspection pointed out a few issues, but they didn t try to charge us for anything we didn t need. Overall a very good experience and we will return the next time our oil needs changed, or more likely the next time our car needs serviced.Service: Oil change

I expected my oil change appointment to take no more than an hour at most. They took 2 1/2 hours to finish. At 1 1/2 hours I asked why it was taking so long, and they were waiting for my oil filter to be delivered. I did schedule it in advance. My phone died, there was nothing to read, and they didn t turn on the TV. I won t ever go back.

I went to this location recently to get my brakes changed and I was told that I needed my rotors and brakes changed. The price they gave me to do everything was over $1,000. I have a 2016 Hyundai sonata. My boyfriend said that didn t sound right so he decided we re not going to get it done there. We went somewhere else and they told us our rotors are completely fine and don t need to be changed! They lied to us and tried to cheat us! I m so sad and disgusted that they tried to take advantage of us. I do not recommend going to this location and it sucks because just 7 months ago I wrote a positive review about this location and had to remove it because of this experience. Do not go here.

I had a big service interval that I needed done, and I wasn't happy with the quote and scheduling the dealership proposed. I contacted James at Midas, and they took great care of me! The work was a little more than I anticipated, but he took the time to go through each item, recommendations on which levels of severity they were, and without any pressure. It took a while to get all the work done on my vehicle, but the team here did an incredible job with every customer that walked in. One of the techs said something about it being under new management, but the way it's running now? I'll be coming back and hope they keep whatever magic they had today going in the future.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning, Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

I must comment on my visit to the Midas on 1st Ave, once again. . . . Had a flat tire and they got me in even though ALL their bays were full. James who manages the shop and Shilo the assistant are so efficient and professional, that it just looks like a well oiled machine. They asked my problem, , grabbed my keys and i was in and out in 25 minutes. They even had to move cars to get my work done. . Catering to people is their specialty. . And the guys in the shop are so quick and smart. . I NEVER have had a more memorable time at a shop. You don't see that kind of professionalism ANYWHERE. Would never consider anywhere else for any of my cars. Once you go there, you'll never go anywhere else. HONEST. There's a TV and a complimentary coffee waiting for you. . Simply unbelievable. . THANK YOU.Johnny J.Service: Tires

Westen was great! I walked in to get an oil change. He and the crew took care of me. The gentleman with the daughter as the same name as mine even had to leave to get the oil filter. I felt bad because I didn't want to inconvenience anyone since I was a walk-in, but I was reassured that it was okay! The service I received was very much appreciated and each person I interacted with was polite and happy to help. This is my spot and so much better than the other oil change locations in CR!
