Quality of work is decent, but their prices can be rip off and probably among the costliest I've seen in Ames!I was given a quote of something like 800, which I eventually fixed for ~250 from a different place! But I also had a tire change from them before that at a reasonable price before. I'd recommend checking those prices/quotes ahead of your work to avoid surprises.

Freedom Tire promises to take care of their customers like family, and they really do just that! Always helpful, professional, and no pressure. A different shop recently tried to prey on my ignorance to charge me thousands of dollars for the wrong fix. Freedom Tire saved me from wasting that money and prolonged the life of my vehicle with a thorough inspection and a much smaller fix. Their honesty and integrity has earned them life long customers in both myself and my fianc�e!

Freedom tire has earned a 5 star review and then some. Maintenance for our fleet of company vehicles has been stellar. They also drove me back to my own shop when I dropped off a truck for service. Saved me time and money waiting for a cab/Uber.

I had my tires replaced and wheel alignment done. The work was promptly completed the same day I stopped by to ask for information. The staff was very professional in recommending tires and friendly. Price was also competitive. Excellent service!

I bought 4 all new tires here less than a year ago. I picked up a nail. I called and asked if about a patch. It would cost $33 to patch I spent close to a grand in February and my husband was told it takes time to patch a tire and we expect them to do it for free? No worries. I ll never spend another dime here and another business that I didn t buy tires from patched my tire FOR FREE. They had zero problems spending any of their time fixing something so minor for free. That s the kind of business I will be going to from now on.Update: weird. We were told that even if we had roadside hazard warranty, it would NOT cover a nail. So which is it? I m not calling again for a resolution. dealt with enough from your receptionist and shop manager. Your mechanics are excellent and friendly, that s why I gave at least 1 star. But your business practices are not.

I've been taking my cars to Freedom Tire for a long time and always had great experiences, but after a recent service I decided to leave this review. My wife's car had a slow leak in one of the tires. Had to take it to the dealership for a recall repair, so decided to have them look at it. The dealership said the tires were shot and there was nothing they could do. Then they handed me a quote for a $600 set of new tires. Knowing my wife's tires weren't that old, I passed. A month or so later it was time for an oil change, and I decided to take the car in to Freedom tire and have them inspect the tire. They found a nail in the leaky tire and were able to repair it, saving me hundreds of dollars. This is just one of many reasons I trust all my vehicles to Freedom Tire.

I have been going here for 4 years and am always confident in their service and expertise. They picked up my car from home and delivered it repaired in a timely manner to my workplace. I have sl4ways gotten in on the same day; I'm very confident their service has kept my older car in good running condition and me safe.

It was OK, the people were nice, the price was fair, but I set up an appointment and my vehicle sat there in the lot for 40+ minutes before they pulled it in for service. That was annoying.

I received excellent customer service from Freedom Tire after one of their competitors improperly repaired a tire. Dallas got me in right away and the tire was repaired the correct way. I highly recommend this business.

Was a loyal customer at the West Des Moines location due to phenomenal service and pricing, so gave this location a chance upon moving to Ames. Service isn't bad, but after having my car serviced here several times it is obvious they upcharge - most recent was a blower motor replacement that cost $100 over the MAX range for an online estimate. Don't ever plan on going here again.

Had a poor experience where I was charged for an inspection after I told them what it needed and decided to not have my truck serviced there after being quoted.This caused some stress because it's extremely difficult for a college student to pay theses kind of prices, but the owner handled this issue professionally so I have changed my review and rating from 1 star to 3.I still probably won't be returning to the Ames Freedom because it's hard to pay the price for the warranty that comes with the NAPA parts, but I haven't had an issue with their repairs.

Brought my car in to have 2 snow tires put on that were already on the rims and got charged $20 in total which included a $2 "Shop supply" charge. And on top of that they didn't even check the air pressure in my tires after putting them on. So they were at 26 psi when I checked them a few hours later.....good thing I checked!! I will not be bringing any more vehicles there again.

Do NOT go here. Synthetic oil change & free rotation at any Tandem tire $39.11. At freedom $73.24. Totally rip off college kids. They have hidden charges. DO NOT GO TO FREEDOM TIRE!!!

Called to see if they would only air up a tire that was low do to the sub zero temperatures. All the gas stations around town had their lines turned off due to the freezing temps and this place told me "unless your buying something we can't help" I will never purchase anything from a place that can't help in a time of need like this. My advice, FIND ANOTHER SHOP this place is a JOKE! Its a wonder they are still in business. Called EnTire in Ames and they told me bring it in, we will air it up and check the rest for you. NO CHARGE!

Don't bother with this place especially if you have an emergency. They won't go above and beyond to get you in. I had a blow out on a company service truck on Friday they told me they could possibly get to it by Monday. Mind you I have work to get done with the truck.Called Trickle Tire and Automotive they got me up and running within an hour.
