This business was very helpful and professional! Explained everything in detail to me to help understand what was wrong and what I was paying for. They were also honest about what could wait and what couldn t. Not to mention working slightly over hours to get my repair done. Highly recommend!

If you need a honest trustworthy mechanic look no further. Andrew and Justin go above and beyond and very well priced. I have been to them for several things and have never been disappointed. I will always go to them for my vehicles. They also service my parents vehicles.

While I haven t had any repairs done here yet, I brought a vehicle in for a pre purchase inspection. These guys did an excellent job and are very knowledgeable about vehicles, especially when it comes to questions about body work.Fair price and didn t try to sell me B.S. services that I didn t need. They came off as pretty trustworthy and good mechanics are hard to find so I d recommend them, especially if you need advice about bodywork and used vehicles.

I have a Kia which has been broken into twice now people attempting to steal it. The first time I went with my insurance company's suggestion Caliber Collision on Churchman Ave in Beech Grove, I was not happy at all with the work they did and actually they didn't even fix some of the things they were paid by my insurance company to fix and they had my car for over a month. So when it happened the second time I refused to take it back there so I took it to Makeshift Garage and I'm so glad I did. Not only did they do an amazing job in a fraction of the time Justin kept me in the loop letting me know what was going on through the entire process which lessened the stress of dealing with an already bad situation. They definitely know what they are doing and they do an amazing job. Anyone who needs their vehicle worked on I highly recommend you call them. You won't be disappointed, I will not take my vehicle anywhere else from now on. Thank you guys!

Top notch shop. Had truck towed to shop and less then 24hrs later it is back home. Guys kept me informed and made sure repair was done right.

I had a small crash and rode on to the curb. I called makeshift garage as soon as they opened on Saturday morning and they were able to get me in right away to make sure I could still drive safely. They took time to check everything and help me through my concerns and fix what they could on the spot. They also advised me on what I needed to do to be able to drive the car in the long term. They only charged a small bit and were knowledgeable and kind.

This place is worth going to..instead of listening to me about what i thought was wrong with my car (a starter issue) & putting the part on there that i brought to get some money out of me they actually checked my car out reached out to me & told me what was actually wrong he also told me the next issue that i need to take care of & what parts to get on top of that the prices are fair rather yu do bring yo own parts or they have to order them ill fs be using them whenever i have car issues & ill be letting other ppl i know to go to them also

Y'all, I'm sooooo happy I found this shop!!!.. it is SO HARD to find legit/honest mechanics and the two mechanics here (Justin and Andrew) are exactly that-- honest and extremely intelligent... they're VERY talented mechanics!.. They were able to get me in and fixed my car the same day and the price for my parts and labor were WAY cheaper than other shops had quoted.. also the parts and labor are under warranty!It took me a while to find a trusted mechanic that doesn't break my pockets and I'm so thankful I need to look no further.. Makeshift Garage is now my shop for life and I will recommend anyone and EVERYONE to this choose this shop. You won't be disappointed!

I was an out of state prospective car buyer and was looking for a mechanic to do a pre purchase inspection for me that same day. Needless to say it was going to be challenging to find one. Spoke with Andrew and even though I believe he rarely does mobile work, he still managed to accomodate my request and help me.This guy saved me a ton of $$ by showing me that a vehicle that I would have bought, had a lot of issues. The inspection was thorough and included a lot of pictures. He called back and spent time to sit down, explain and report all that he have seen. All of my questions and concerns were answered. He even gave me estimates of possible work that needs to be done based on his experience. It was much more than I expected given the time frame. He definitely went above and beyond what I asked him and paid him to do.This guy has tremendous integrity in his work. Being from out of state, I would not have had the chance to oversee his work but despite that, I saw a job that was done right in spite of the not-so-ideal situation.I will not hesitate to recommend this guy and his shop and for the service he provided. These guys always do a great job on my family s vehicle.I went in today because my car was making weird sounds,they were ere busy but were willing to take a look and did a quick eval on problem. They were able to get me in just by luck and back on the road.they are very informative and fairly priced.I wouldn t go to any other shop unless it was a service they didn t offer. I've been to Makeshift Garage twice now. I came across Makeshift when my car's alternator went out in the middle of downtown Indy. I got my car towed to them, and they had it fixed within a day. Then, about a month later my air compressor needed to be replaced which they also completed quickly. In addition to their speedy turnaround time, they are very fairly priced. I will definitely be using them again for future repairs!

Helpful and considerate staff. Went in for an engine oil leak that another place quoted me well over a grand to fix, Makeshift auto was able to diagnose the real issue and saved me hundreds. They offered to fix my broken window with a used glass part too which saved me lots. Huge just ahead of the holidays. Staff explained to me the issues every step of the way and even offered a ride to come pick up my car (which was ready right on time). This shop has done a lot of work on my son's car and I must say Drew and Justin are the most honest and efficient mechanics. If you are looking for a repair shop that will be upfront, honest, and and fix your vehicle right the first time this is the place for you! These guys got me in fast when I was in a pinch and I can t thank them enough for all they did to get my car running. Not to mention Drew and Justin are great. Highly recommend this shop.

Justin and Andrew are the best honest intelligent mechanics I personally have ever come across. Won t do unecessary work to your car. These two have done countless jobs for me since I moved here 5 years ago. They really are the best I ve ever seen.

One year ago, I got rear ended and the damage wasn't so bad on the outside of the car. I took it into this shop and they were able to determine that not only was my bumper unclipped, but I had underbody damage. They did a fantastic job fixing the damage underneath and buffed my bumper to make it look brand new. The cost was a pleasant surprise. Andrew and Justin are the best guys for auto repair and very cost efficient. Justin and Drew are 2 of the best mechanics. They replaced the motor in my car! They have both done multiple repairs on all of my vechiles and also worked on family and friends vehicle's. They are honest and will answer all your questions.I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a godd mechanic!

You don't have to be Chick-fil-A to have great customer service. For myself, I just like people that are decent and honest. They cleaned the mat which they didn't have to do. I would have been glad just to have it back the way it was. I believe the dealer was going to charge double or more and they always leave stuff or stains on the seats with a "your such a burden" attitude. Plus makeshift is organized and communicates.
