My experience with this shop was below any imaginable dishonesty perform by this kind of business.I would N E V E R recommend this shop to anyone !!!!!I responded to received advertisement offering free winter inspection. I was on the alert mode during the process, due to behavior of 2 man working in the front/office.As presented on attached estimate, I was informed that my car needs a replacement of rear breaks with the routers. Provided cost for this job was $512.71. Later I verified price for the parts if I would choose to move forward, which is approximately $170.I checked condition of my brakes with 2 other shops resulting in the same evaluation: all my brakes are in perfect condition (almost new}.2nd issue presented to me was leak from Valve Cover Gasket. Replacement of that gasket was priced for $712.77. I check that cost with other shop. Quoted price was $200. Ironically my car didn t need that job as well. The mechanic doing this inspection sprayed some fluid excessively, to provide visual evidence. Afterword I monitored level of my oil, especially after longer trips. The level of my oil was and is perfect. After cleaning the fluid sprayed by Skiles Automotive mechanic, there are no more stains under my hood.One of the mechanics re-inspecting my car expressed that this is outrage and insult to the industry . I agree with 1,000% intensity. I don t know how many people in this shop are involved in this stilling. I had dealing with 3 workers: Joey Garcia ; Service Advisor, Tim Wrightsman : Service Advisor and the mechanic.I am expressing my very sincere compassion to those who were taking advantage off by those crooks .I would not feel save even park my car there.

Dropped the truck off for a routine oil change and the complimentary 36 point inspection. Received a call from Skiles around 10am stating that the truck was done and ready for pick up. Completely impressed with Skiles Automotive and will return for future service and repair needs. My only gripe with the job they did was that they put my 2 wheels that had hub caps (only have two hub caps usually have them in both back wheels) they ended up both on the right side, not a huge issue I can change it but other than that Skiles Automotive did great work and got it done fast!Services: Tires, Vehicle Inspection, Oil changeServices: Tires, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Let s just start off by saying the Team at Skiles is absolutely amazing!! Very Family Oriented. I had scheduled an appointment for an oil change, when arrived my Autistic child was having a meltdown. And I was way over due for an oil change, I went in and asked them if they could some how speed the process up, since my 2yr old was a complete mess crying!! The team understood what I was going through and did my oil change as quickly as they possibly could!! I really appreciate everyone at Skiles Automotive!! Definitely will be coming back!! Joey was super honest and up front about all work that needed to be done. They got my car in fast and did a lot of work in such a short amount of time! Will be going back for normal maintenance and recommending to everyone I know!

Would have given it no stars but it s not an option. Our car started to run rough and the check engine light came on. Drove it to Skiles and paid them $150.00 to diagnose the problem. While diagnosing the problem they broke one of the spark plugs trying to get it out. The service manager came out with the broken spark plug and another spark plug they were able to unscrew and get out. He said the broken spark plug was rusty and that s why they couldn t remove it without breaking it. He said it will cost $4,900.00 to fix this problem and doesn t suggest we drive the car with a missing spark plug because it would ruin the engine. He said they must replace the cylinder heads because the screw at the bottom of the plug was stuck in there and there is no way for them to get it out. Also pieces of porcelain from the plug have fallen into the cylinder head which will damage the engine. We told him the car is old and not worth paying that kind of money. Instead of offering to fix the problem they created he offered to find a cheaper solution. The cheaper solution was $3,700.00. They would send it out to a machinist to remove the end of the plug and vacuum out the broken porcelain pieces. Then they would clean up (not replace) the cylinder heads, put in new spark plugs, gaskets, oil, blah, blah, blah. We decided not to invest the money and asked where a junk yard was to tow the car to. I feel they could have at least offered to tow the car to a junk yard for us for free since they caused this particular problem. He said he didn t know of any junk yard but he d call around and find out for us. After 3 days of not hearing from Skiles we told another mechanic what happened. We towed the car to him and he said give me a couple of weeks to look at it. The next day he called us to pick up our car which he said took him 5 minutes to fix. He said EVERY mechanic has a tool called easy out to remove spark plugs that break off while trying to remove them. He vacuumed out the broken spark plug pieces and put in a new spark plug and the car was as ready to go. The check engine light was longer visible and it only cost $50.00 to fix the problem I m not sure if the mechanics at Skiles are inept or if Skiles is crooked or all of the above.I would not recommend Skiles Automotive to anyone!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

One of the only diesel shops that would discuss any options before seeing my vehicle. They efficiently identified the sensor that was misbehaving and were very transparent through the whole process. Great work and very friendly. Provided a very thorough inspection report that included a couple of issues that other service centers have missed. Definitely will be returning.

I visited these guys today at there South Bend location and they were so nice. I told them my situation and asked them if they could fix my car today and my car was fixed in less than 3 hours. They were very thorough on explaining the services and their diagnostic fee is so cheap. I have been to other places and they have charged well over 100 bucks for a diagnostic fee. My car purrs like a kitten as well lol. Thank you guys for your great customer service and your skilled mechanic services. I will be returning. Skiles Auto has been my go-to mechanic since they first opened shop. When I say you can trust these people with your car, I mean it. As an autistic adult with physical disabilities, it s easy to be taken advantage of by good liars (dealerships and retail mechanics) and trust me, Skiles will not lie to you or take advantage of you. I have been in for dozens of repairs and replacements and they have gone above and beyond in explaining every little detail and answering every question I have. I have brought several vehicles for safety inspections that would have cost me $150 per issue elsewhere at little to no cost here. They don t pull your leg on when parts or items need replaced, they ll let you know if you can get another 3 days, weeks, or months and give you a printed quote for when your repair time comes. They even work with most warranty companies, even the ones the dealerships tell you only work at said dealership. They ve saved me tens of thousands in both work and work I worried needed done but ended up not needing done due to their expertise. Skiles Auto is full of the most friendly, honest, hard working and just good people I ll continue to use them as long as I own a vehicle. They offered a free oil change. I also needed tires for my vehicle and couldn't afford the whole amount at the time. They had suggested a financing option. I was approved right away and was able to get tires same day. Now i know my children will be in a safe vehicle. Thank you Skiles!!!

Did an inspection on a van we just recently bought. The service was great. The waiting room was very cozy with my kids. My boyfriend has brought his truck here several times. Not very happy with the work done and I wouldn't personally take my car to this shop to get worked on unless it was something simple that needed fixed. Gave them 2 stars though, because I like that they give you a leave vehicle while they have yours.

The team at Skiles was fantastic, they did an awesome job on my car, they walked me through all of my options and clearly stated what needed to be done.I appreciated that they were very transparent on pricing and services as well as being able to work with my pickup schedule.They communicated clearly and regularly throughout the process, which was awesome since my car had to be towed there - it was great to have such awesome service on a very stressful day.
