Hidden Gem. We decided to take a little weekend road trip that brought us to the Kamiah area. On a whim, we stayed at the Hearthstone Elegant Lodge. Half the price of other hotels & came with a complimentary breakfast at the Hearthstone Cafe. The rooms are generous in size with comfy beds and bedding, oversized rooms with an open veranda and jetted tub in the larger rooms. Awesome place for a couple's getaway. A fantastic quiet location with plenty of hiking and fishing immediately accessible. Many thanks to Rolf, Ana & Jodi and Ruthie (Kamiah Hotel for dinner) for making our stay so friendly and welcoming! See you again soon!Rooms: Spacious with a veranda!Nearby activities: Fishing, hiking, biking, photography, scenic driving, Heart of the Monster hike.Safety: Extremely safe area.Walkability: Hiking/biking trails on 65 (or so) acres of property on which hotel sits. Trail also goes to Clearwater River under highway, but we did not get to hike that.Food & drinks: Hearthstone Bakery/Cafe for breakfast, plus get some cafe made cookies for lunch. Kamiah Hotel for dinner.

We stopped here on our way to CDA and it s really a gem. The gentleman that helped us when we showed up, Ralph (pretty sure that s spelt wrong, but he d say like golf with a r . ) was super helpful. There was an accidental overbook for our room and we got upgraded. The lodge was clean, the views were amazing, and it was a quick walk to the river. The complimentary breakfast at the cafe was also amazing! We will definitely be staying here again.

The Hearthstone Lodge is a fantastic place for our family to stay everything is top notch down to the carpet. We were able to talk to the owner and he shared that they shipped up all of the iron for balconies and fountains that were from France and over 400 years old! They left no stone unturned with this place and is definitely a top-notch Hotel. This is our usual stop for our trip up to Montana from Oregon and we will definitely be staying at this place from now on. Super professional and well kept. Can't say enough good things.

I ve been pretty much everywhere like air, and all over the place like space, but by far this hotel has magnificent/breathtaking views of Great Northern America, multiple places to park along scenic routes no more than 5 minutes away from the hotel. Staff was extremely professional, kind, knowledgeable, informative, very respectful and the hospitality was unmatched! I really appreciate this place and the beautiful people here. Thank you for the amazing experience, I ve definitely added this place in particular as one of my serene peaceful get aways, to escape the often stressful city living.Noteworthy details: An unforgettable experience.

I Love Hearthstone Elegant Lodge! It s by far my all time favorite Hotel. I took more people with me the second time! It is So beautiful and luxurious ! We found it while traveling through the area, and it was one of the best surprises I have ever had! I actually made a video of our gorgeous room and sent it to my kids! It was so beautiful! And the restaurant/ bakery is also beautiful. The owners, Marjorie and Harty, are one of the best parts! They are amazing, inspiring, and talented people. Their Inn is a lovely rare treasure. Like their lives it is built with deep passion and care. It is a lucky traveler who gets to stay at Hearthstone Elegant Lodge.Rooms: Beautiful antique furniture collection Jacuzzi type bath, Television, and internet access.A coffee maker in room. The best mattresses and bedding . Very clean. Also, a doorway to the balcony from each room, and Bath robes to wear during your stay! AND a beautiful view and seating on the balcony! Awesome!

WOW. What a wonderful lodge! From check in to check out, this lodge is hands down the cleanest, most relaxing, and yes .elegant Lodge we have ever seen or experienced. Thank you for keeping this property in immaculate condition, with such cleanliness, and overall charm. You d be hard pressed to find a lodge like this. Thank you for a wonderful stay.Rooms: The room had all the comfort and charm of being at home, and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Far exceeded my expectations and as a person who travels the world for business and stays in 60-70 rooms per year, I have high expectations! What a wonderful stay!

Wow what a beautiful place. It was perfect for a time away. Kamiah does not have a lot to offer but this hotel was beautiful. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was tasty and wonderful. We overlooked the Clearwater river. The staff is low key but our stay was very nice and restful. A bonus for the jetted tub in our room. This hotel was a lot nicer than the surrounding area. We had a reasonable dinner at the Kamiah bar and grill. The rest of the diners seemed to be bikers. Not sure what I would have done for a long stay.

Very nice but a bit pricey at $150 per night. Rolf was very helpful, loaned us a car to drive to town to eat supper so we didn't have to ride our motorcycles.Rooms: Very nice clean and comfortableWalkability: Too far to walk to get anything to eat.

The man was a little less than ecstatic (understandably so) to get a phone call at almost 2 am because we needed a last minute room due to a family emergency in the area. He was polite and helpful though at the end of our communications. The room was extremely nicely furnished and beautiful. we will be staying here again, it was very very nice.

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are larger than most. Breakfast is included but you have to drive 5 minutes to get to the restaurant that they own in Kamiah. We really enjoyed our stay.

What a beautiful lodge and area! I could easily have spent a week at this location. The rooms are so elegant and the staff is super friendly. There are lots of little areas both inside the lodge and out where you could curl up with a book, sip on a cup of coffee or enjoy a glass of wine with friends.Just across the road is the Clearwater River, and on the other side of the lodge is a pine forest that seem to stretch on forever.Just down the road (5 minutes) is Kamiah, the cutest nicest little historic town I've ever been to. Great place to just wander around and to stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

This place is great! Very unique and interesting building with a cool lobby, large rooms, and a terrific view from the back porch. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The only negative with staying here is that there aren't many dining options in Kamiah. There are a few more, though, if you're willing to drive another 7 miles or so to Kooskia. With that said, I would definitely recommend the Hearthstone and would stay here again.

This place is amazing. The rooms are huge, clean and a mix of antique and modern. All of the rooms have a balcony with a river view. We arrived on our motorcycles...the driveway up is a bit steep but packed gravel, so not a big deal but the inn keeper pulled out an old Ford explorer and allowed us to use it for free during out stay. You can't find red carpet service like this anywhere, anymore. The staff are friendly, kind and very attentive. They are finishing remodeling an even better, more beautiful lodge next door so we will definitely be back. Oh and when you are in town, hit up the Kamiah Hotel... It's a great Steakhouse and highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience our overnight stay was. From the time you walk through the front doors, to every detail in your private room, you can feel the amount of care and attention to detail the proprietors have invested into your personal stay. Extremely comfortable beds and sheets, spacious room, jacuzzi tub and the view from your windows of the mountains and Clearwater River make this a one of a kind retreat. If you re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of your busy life and enjoy reading a good book from their many comfortable sitting areas and library or just the peace and quiet and scenery, this is the place to come. You will not be sorry! We will be back! Also, a special thank you to Harty and Marjorie for helping make our 50th Anniversary weekend retreat a wonderful experience. Steve and Eileen Nelson

This would have been a great stay, if there was not a loud high pitched grinding noise that woke me up both nights and would go on for about an hour. I first thought that it was the air co, but turned out to be something in the wall. Also, the old hide a bed couch was not comfortable to sit on for any length of time. After checking in, I never saw the owner to see if the noise issue could be fixed.

This is bar none the greatest place to stay in northern Idaho! The owners are very friendly and accommodating. They gave my wife and I a wonderful and informative tour of the lodge and made sure we felt at home. The rooms are luxurious and spacious. Would recommend anyone to go and see for yourself!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hearthstone. The rooms are very regal, yet remain comfortable. Marjorie and Harty were absolutely wonderful hosts, making us feel right at home. We found out Harty was a real estate Broker, and he was kind enough to take some time to talk to us about the local market and what life is like in the area. We plan on staying here again when we're back in the area.

my husband messed up on the reservations and booked for the same night we were to be in Lolo Hot Springs. When we arrived is when we found out it was for the night before. ugh! well the gentleman was so nice and accomidating, they had a room available so he adjusted the reservation. The place is absolutely beautiful and so romantic. a great getaway for my husband and I. only thing I would change, we would have stayed here both nights! but it is wonderful. Thank you so much. I'm sorry my husband messed up the reservation again.
