I called these guys to get a B&W Goose neck turnover ball hitch purchased and installed. They wanted $1275 to do this. I asked how much just to install the hitch because I am able to get one $100 cheaper online. They said $700. That s nice, a year and a half ago they installed one for for $350, now they re double that. Screw you Barton I installed it myself and did a better job then you did on the one for me a year and a half ago. It s one thing to raise prices to match inflation, it s another to screw your customers, in this case your lack of customer. I m tired of these companies screwing customers over. If you buy a hitch online install it yourself it s easy!

Great fast and reasonably priced.I needed my weight distribution hitch to be adjusted for a new trailer that was taller. Barton did adjustments and sold me a long shank so I can open my tailgate with the trailer attached. All took less than 45 minutes. Flat fee for adjustment of the hitch, which was fine for me.

Brought my 1995 boat trailer in on short notice for a complete check and wheel bearing service. They completed all work in a day, and the owner took the time to answer all my questions about trailer maintenance when I came in to pick up the trailer. Overall a great experience, and I will continue to use Barton's for maintenance and service. Thank you!Service: Brakes

This is the second time I have called these guys about getting something fixed or installed and they get me right in. Steve complete a Job that another trailer hitch place did not have the 'Tools' to finish and so, I brought my own hitch in and he installed it professionally and quickly.I don't encourage to buy stuff and bring it in because they offer many other options and prices are very comparable but in this case, I was already in it with my own hitch.I recommend these guys; Give them a call.

We re from out of town leaving tomorrow, so work needed on our dump trailer had to be completed today. Arrived at 7:45am this morning, greeted by knowledgeable man who reassured me all issues would be repaired today. Got a call at 11:30am that all repairs were done & trailer was ready! Rebuilt entire suspension, repacked all 4 wheel bearings, & even fixed a wiring problem! Very happy with prompt service, price was fair, highly recommend this business!!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Electrical

Couldn't be more happy with my experience here. UHAUL gave us the run around and said we had some oem tow package that we did not have and they actually installed that needed completely replaced as it was never done correctly. These people were amazing! Got me in next day, offered to do it same day, got my car back to me in 2 hours with everything replaced and looking so amazing!!! Couldn't recommend them more. Barton's did a great job! I had a problem with my trailer tail lights. I met Steve for the first time and he was very pleasant, straightforward and professional. He quickly traced the problem to an electrical issue on my Pathfinder tow vehicle. He repaired it, told me what the problem was, and what to watch out for in the future. He has a good clean shop and clearly knows what he's doing.I was very satisfied, and Steve will have all my business for my trailer work in the future. I highly recommend him. You'll get good work at a fair price.

Steve & Denny worked to find a distribution hitch for my camper, which had some mounting issues. They went out of their way to accommodate me and to fit me in to their busy schedule. Steve took the time to show me how the new hitch works. They also put a new brake controller on my truck a few weeks back. Great guys with EXCELLENT service. Can't recommend these guys more strongly. I have had Barton's install a couple of different things for me. Last year I had them install an 7 blade socket on my truck, they did it quickly and the price was under what they quoted me. Recently I had them install a trailer brake control, and again great service, they had it done quickly, and again the price came in under what they quoted me. Steve is a really great guy, he does exceptional work, you cant go wrong with these guys, they are fantastic, and they will continue to receive my business

This company just scammed my wife out of $500. I was on travel for work and these guys were going to install a hitch for us on my wife's car. They quoted us $1,000 to install a hitch and then up charged her over the quoted price. When asked why, they gave an excuse that did not in any way match what we were quoted and refused to work with us. The two jokers are in no way honest, or trustworthy. These old guys are just taking advantage of a woman, which speaks very clearly about their character. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

Barton's is a throw back to traditional Excellent Customer Service. They are professionals in their field and exceptional humans. I was jerked around at multiple big name tire and wheel chains before finding this fabulous group and was imediately blown away with their knowlege and compassion for my situation. I will send every person I meet with trailer and hitch needs to Barton's. The Treasure Valley is lucky to still have people like this who treat you with respect and do what they say they will.Services: Tires, Electrical

Barton's was recommended by Peterson Motors Body shop. I read some of the reviews and wanted to give my impressions.I first went in and met Steve, he was with a customer but gave me a nod when he saw me. We talked a bit about putting a hitch on my BMW X3, he gave me an estimate and we agreed to do it. Two days later Steve called me to tell me my parts were in and he could do it right away. I scheduled for the next day and took the car in. Steve was there, waiting for me ready to get started. Steve called a couple of hours later letting me know it was all done so I picked it up on my lunch hour.Steve (Barton's) did an excellent job. Putting a hitch on a BMW is very complicated and requires drilling out rivets and removing the entire rear bumper cover. I inspected the job closely and could not even tell the bumper had been removed. Steve did an excellent job for a very picky customer (me). Thank you for a job well done.

Not only did they get me in quickly, they were very helpful and explained the things I did and did not need on my Highlander hitch. I gave them wrong information when I dropped it off and had to call back with a change. They were very understanding and accommodated the change. I could not have been more impressed with the work, service and products.

Overpriced! at any uhaul I was quoted $214 for a hitch and installation and tax, but they were back ordered until august 8th and we needed it before( for my dodge grand caravan without wiring). Barton had our hitch in stock, but at $350, $370 with tax. He also said about an hour for installation, but 1hr and 45min later was finally done. It seems like he did a good job but are testing it this weekend and I will update.

The work they performed was decent only problem was it took 4 hours to get decent work. The two different fellas I seen working on the install moved slower than a month of sundays. And the old fella that I am assuming owns the business wasnt very friendly all in all I would look around and only come here if you have to.

I had issues with my boat trailer lights and brought my trailer in. Steve said he would take a look. When I asked how much it would cost, he said he really wouldn't know until he "got in there." Next thing I knew, he called to say it was finished and it was $300.30! I was stunned. I have NEVER had a repair shop go ahead with work w/o first calling to check on price. I never would have agreed to that cost. What a rip off tactic! We negotiated a lower price after an uncomfortable confrontation, and the work done was good, but Steve really needs to communicate with his customers in a more straightforward way BEFORE doing the work.MAKE SURE YOU GET A QUOTE UP FRONT!

Like other customers, Barton's was able to save my camping trip by putting in a hitch put on the frame, not the bumper. This was a last-minute request. Yes, the guys are old school, but they did quality work. Price was accurate to original quote.

Apparently, when you pull up with a Mastercraft boat and trailer (even an old 2000 x-star) it means you have lots of money and you're willing to pay whatever they ask. I ended up at Barton's because the Mastercraft dealership is closing their doors. My mistake! I'm usually one for doing my homework and getting several price quotes but I was short on time. They did a total brake and actuator job on my trailer, not sure if it was even needed, but after it was done I was very sure I was overcharged and sure enough a phone call to the Mastercraft dealer and I found out they would have charged me half what Barton's did. The owner at Barton's made no apologies and no concessions and actually charged me $100 more than what he quoted me over the phone. Don't go to Barton's!

Purchased trailer parts from Barton's and needed to return because found for significantly less elsewhere. The parts were never used and provided how they were given with receipt. They refused to honor the return and extremely rude about it. I will never do business with them. Mark up on parts are rediculous! Can only imagine labor is the same with low quality customer service.

Have used Barton's after having our multiple trailers serviced at other "specialty" shops in the area over 20 years.They are "old school" (which I appreciate) and have taken care of a variety of issues (wiring, suspension, brakes and of course bearing packing - which I hate). Re: $ - yes but quality costs.Recommended.

I never do reviews but i felt it was my responsibility to my community as a life long Idahoan. MR BARTONS price gouging is over the top. I have a Yacht Club trailer and he charged me 600 for new bearings and a spindle replacement. To put that in perspective spindels are 29 bucks at D&B, bearings are 24 bucks a side. So thats my story. The work was good, the math was so far off he must be suffering from dementia. A new trailer would have been1200. So please be aware of Mr Bartons business ethics or the lack thereof.Yours truly Jeremy Hall

I really like these guys, they remind me of my father, who was a auto mechanic most of his life. He had a no non-sense attitude. First the bad: Mechanic performed services that I didn't request or authorize. While there was value in what was done they should perform only work I explicitly approve, I will NOT go back.The good: Timely and work appears to be well done. Its unfortunate I don't feel I can trust them. I had hoped to use them for other trailer work in the future and would have if just based on quality of work and speed of service.

The guys were rude and made sure I knew that my questions were unwanted. They then told me I needed a custom setup because they didn't make them anymore and it would be around 550. One call to uhaul and they had one in stock... for 200 plus install. Furthermore, when I opted out and went to retrieve my truck it was dead with the keys still in the ignition. When I confronted the owner he of coarse didn't have any jumper cables and told me that it wasn't any of his guys. Then just looked at me and drove away. Worst group of mechanics I've ever met.

We brought our 5th wheel in for a wheel bearing repair in early June. Wheel bearing failed again in September. We were told by our mechanic in Sacramento that it should not have failed that soon, the spindle was damaged and while Barton's claimed they didn't think it needed to be replaced, it really should have been replaced at that time. Barton's doesn't feel this is their fault or their problem but the same wheel bearing should not fail twice in 4 months. Not happy with this shop as we are once again "stuck" waiting on parts and paying for another repair due to it not being fixed correctly the first time.

Terrible customer service. Walked in with a simple question and he didn t even give me the time of day and shoved me out the door like a little kid. See how many people I send your way Barton... if you want great people to deal with and good quality work go to Henderson Wheel and Supply or Major Tire and Hitch. Fantastic company s less than a mile away

Probably right up there with one of the rudest interactions I ve had. Needed help with mounting a hitch on my truck and made two separate visits to the store and both were met with very rude one-word answers. I will never go back here. Never used them before and never will return. Very very rude.
