I had blown a water pump and was referred to Rock Bottom by the people that do my oil changes. I couldn t believe how lucky I was for that referral! It was not only the water pump but the intake manifold as well. Dean s pricing was very awesome and he helped make my experience extremely comfortable. He s very courteous, punctual and communicates very well along the way. I will be telling everyone I know to use Rock Bottom for their auto repair needs and I will be going there from now on!! 100% positive experience.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Dean was great , he went above and beyond to repair my car. I needed my car by the next day so he stayed late working on it to make sure it was done for me. His prices are also great ! The shop that the dealership I bought it from sent me to wanted just over $400 more for the same thing. My vehicles will always go to Dean at Rock Bottom.Thank you so much Dean !!

Fast service and great prices! Brought my car in for a second opinion on repairs from the dealership, Dean got my car on the lift and he showed me first hand what did and didn t need to happen to be driving safe. He eliminated half the repairs, caught a few things the dealer didn t, and all at a quarter of the price. Probably the most upfront mechanic I ve worked with. I ll definitely be going back. Dean was fantastic to do business with. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job at getting my car fixed. He offered a very good price for the work I needed done. Dean was amazing. We were having issues with our daughter s car and dropping her off to attend school at Boise State University so our time was limited. Dean was able to get us in the very next day and have us a diagnosis and a repair done by the end of the day. He saved us such a headache and was very professional with a great sense of humor that helped relieve some of our stress. Very thankful for such great customer service and an extremely reasonably priced repair!Service: A/C installation & repair

I highly recommend Rock Bottom. I've been taking them work for a year and I'm always satisfied with the work they do. Dean and his staff are professional and super efficient when it comes to getting work done. There's never been miscommunication when it comes to working on the vehicles I take them weekly for my business. He also runs a well cleaned organized shop. Need a really good and affordable mechanic? I highly recommend using Rock Bottom Auto Repair.

Dean always goes above and beyond to help out customers. He is honest about pricing and how long a job will take which is so nice. It doesn't feel like we are speaking different languages when he tells you what he has to do. He takes the time to make sure you understand what he is doing. It is so nice to have a reliable and trustworthy mechanic to take our truck to!

Dean is very professional and knowledgeable, knows his stuff. He is really honest and we trust his work. He replaced the motor in our Dodge pickup and did work on our Tahoe. Reasonable and fair prices. Couldn't be happier with his services.

Dean and the guys at rock bottom fixed my car in a timely manner and worked with me financially. These guys are really amazing. They go above and beyond to help however they can. Thought I would leave a review as an ACTUAL CUSTOMER and not just someone who heard from some person to leave a bad review because they wanted more work done than what they could afford....I'm an ACTUAL CUSTOMER of Rock Bottom and have had Dean work on many of not only mine, but my family's vehicles. I can say that Dean goes above and beyond for his customers and is actually passionate about what he does. I also know that when he's working on something and gives someone a time estimate, if he runs into any hiccups, he works late into the night to make sure the vehicle gets finished and back on the road in the time frame he originally gave. I feel that you can't get better quality work than from someone like Dean who is passionate about what he does. If something is wrong with a part, he will fix it and make sure it's done right regardless of how much time it sets him back because he believes in quality work. If you can't afford to fix everything that's wrong with your vehicle, don't expect things you didn't pay for to magically get fixed. Parts cost money and labor isn't free. The hours he puts into any vehicle are hours he could be working on another vehicle for a paying customer. Don't expect free labor because that's still money out of his pocket.

Dean is Absolutely Amazing!!!! We were in Boise visiting our adopted son and our alternator went out. We were stuck in an intersection right off the freeway. Dean came and helped us , took the car to the shop and told us the prognosis....We had to be home on Monday and didn t see how it was going to happen . Dean loaned us his courtesy vehicle for 4days.... note we live 8 hours away in north Idaho. He never once budged.... he was just there to help us make it work out . He went above and beyond any mechanic we have ever known !!!! He is flat out the best !!!!

Wow!!! Was referred to Dean from a friend and he completely exceeded my expectations from a mechanic. Called on a Friday got me in on a Monday and had my truck back the same day. Overhauled the entire front end with moog parts got it aligned and it drives like a brand new truck. So glad there are still honest mechanics out there that have fair rates. Would highly reccomend his shop to anyone that needs work regardless of the make or model.

My husband, who always took care of the vehicles, passed away recently. On a trip to my garage lately I noticed my car was dripping fluid on the floor. My daughter and I took the car to Shell Lube to get the oil changed and check on this leak and they told us about Rock Bottom Auto Repair and how they trusted Dean who owns it. We went there and he showed me what was going on and explain step-by-step what needed to be done. I trusted him immediately that he would do the repairs on my car at a reasonable cost and he did. I will recommend him to anyone who needs auto repair.

I had been having some weird issues with my Jeep and after taking it to another mechanic who couldn t figure out what was wrong with it, my Dad recommended Dean! He was able to diagnose the problem straight away and was transparent about the cost to fix it. He was in contact with me throughout the entire repair; very satisfied and would highly recommend!

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality, speed, and professionalism of this shop. Dean knocked out 6 ignition coils on my Toyota Sienna in no time. He provided me a ride home and had me picked me up the next day( I live way out in Eagle). I ve priced around the same job and every shop(and I m talking like 7-8 shops)tried to rip me off. They tried to charge me 3 to 4 times what Dean charged me. I knew what labor and cost were(worked on cars before). This is the one and probably only honest mechanic in this whole area. Mikayla(probably spelled her name wrong sorry)was super sweet and really nice to talk to. It s a small shop so you re not spending all the money on overhead. This is my new mechanic for life. Great and most importantly HONEST people work here.

Got my vehicle in and beat every bodies price in town and did very good work. Had a part that needed a warranty did it no issues no cost and hassle free. I would recommend him to anyone he has earned my permanent business.

Absolutely amazing! Always goes above and beyond, Dean is a very honest, upfront mechanic who will go through every step with you and does everything he can to take care of his customers! Highly recommend and will only continue to go to his shop. :)

Absolutely wonderful customer service. A while back, my transmission started leaking...badly. When I took my car to my regular place, they said they didn't have the tools for the repair and sent me to Rock Bottom. I don't know much about cars, and have always been told by others to ask to see the replaced parts so that I know everything is well, but it always makes me uncomfortable to do so. Perhaps it feels like I'm questioning the mechanic...at Rock Bottom, they went over everything they fixed, the parts they replaced, and what was wrong with it in the first place. They then did their best to get my car back to me within a day, and after getting a discount on the parts, they gave me a discount on the service. As something they didn't have to do, it meant a lot to the me who didn't have a whole lot of money at the moment. Thank you!Service: Transmission

Dean was able to look at my car in a timely manner and was able to diagnose my crank no start when i didnt have time to check it out myself due to work. He got the car back up and running at an awesome rate. Was a pleasure to do business with.

**UPDATE** 11 June 202The owner (Dean Peterson) has left a voicemailMy sister is blind and also has a colonoscopy bag, I have been assisting her and her husband for the past few months as Dean has not been helpful.He has left a message stating he will not proceed with the repair because I have left a negative review and he states he is being harassed and has threatened us with a lawyer. He has confirmed he only has 3 hours left to install the new motor, but refuses to complete the job as this is 'out of his pocket' as it was his error installing the part that caused the motor to blow.Dean - I am asking you once again, on behalf of my sister, please fix the vehicle as we would like to no longer have any communication with you in the future. We just want the working vehicle back in our possession.. Once completed, I will do what you asked, and remove the reviews.I chose to post this as I DO NOT want anyone else going through this. This should never have come to this, we will also be reporting to the BBB. WE NEVER wanted any issues, just the vehicle.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Would not recommend. The owner installed a part incorrectly on the vehicle and the entire engine blew.The vehicle has been at his shop since end of February. He also stated if he feels "harassed" aka checking on the vehicle, he will not complete the job. He states he has current "paying customer" and will get to it when he can.Went as far as contacting the governor's office, which is when he stated "he will do the right thing"... and yet, it sits at his shop because he has paying customers. Can you help and not go to his shop so we can get our vehicle?Also* he has deleted the previous yelp review account as there were other complaints regarding his shop.Today is 10 June 2020 - I will update when there is one available. Dean and team were 5 star we had a rv emergency on the road he works on Chevy engines he had us out of there in less than 24 hours ! Offered for us to stay on lot in or home ! Thank you dean and staff ! Prices were great as well !

My pickup needed some major repairs and Dean walked me thru the whole process, let me use his courtesy truck for the whole week, and kept in contact with me every step of the way. Definitely will be taking anything back to him. Truck runs beautifully!

Brought my fiance's srt8 challeneger to get looked at. Horn wasn't working, took the time to look at it after hours and fixed my issue. Also brought my Durango to him with a heater issue, he replaced the thermostat and did a coolant flush. This was a year ago and heater is still working amazingly. Will definitely return if anything else arises problem wise with any of my vehicles. Great customer service and a great price!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! ON TOP OF IT !! Not one to post reviews,but Dean. Went out. And towed my Tahoe on a sunday on a last minute call ! Did a great job Bringing it back to town not to mention the long drive back from idaho city on an emergency call at a reasonable price is one for the books !! Definetly will go back for repairs !!

Awesome! I really really appreciate this place, just trying to get a hose put in on my jaguar up until I called them ,had been a month long hellish experience and this place had a appointment spot for me and a quote and everything I needed in minuets. I couldnt thank them enough I really appreciate it. I'll be sure to recomend these guys to everyone I know! Great work on my truck, Dean is honest and goes out of his way to be helpful. I'd trust him more than most bigger shops.
