I took my 20+ year old car in for a leaky radiator, problem was fixed in a timely manner. The mechanic also pointed out a couple of other issues that need work, but very happy with our experience so far. We definitely plan on using them again.

Don't take your vehicle to Mac's Automotive! If you do you'll soon be contemplating taking them to court. They deserve a negative number of stars actually. They've been begging for a review so here you go. I trusted them to fix our van that never gave us an issue until it over heated once around the corner from my home. We got home & left the van parked until we found a radiator shop, Mac's. We towed the vehicle in. They gave us a quote to redo the radiator. We went through Mac's suggested finance Co. They financed us for $400 over the quote given. Of course once we approved the work to be done all of a sudden we needed $400 more work done. We need our van so we decide to have the work done in Feb. 2023. It runs fine until it doesn't on 6/13/23! We're leaving a family event and the van just sounds terrible! We pull into a gas station & check the radiator the reservoir is bone dry. We buy radiator fluid. As my husband is pouring it into the radiator it is pouring right out the bottom onto the ground. We tow the van to Mac's. We ask them to check their work to see if the issue with the radiator is covered under the warranty. They immediately call and say the engine is shot. It will be $9k for a new engine but they can do the work. They do automotive work. I remind them we brought the vehicle in for them to check the work they did for us ONLY 4 mos ago! But why, they say, the engine needs to be replaced. I said because the radiator should have been perfect since you just replaced it and charged us $2800! Oh ok, they say, sure we'll check it. They come back and say, no this isn't covered under warranty because the bypass hose, that one hose we didn't replace because it looked good, when replacing your radiator, is the hose that burst. I then pull out our final itemized bill and a bypass hose is listed there! I then check the initial quote given us and the bypass hose isn't listed there. The bypass hose was only add when they padded the quote to make the most of our financing we were approved for, in my opinion. So I tell them but you DID replace the bypass hose. It's listed here on the itemized receipt. They then hang up and call back to say oh there are 2 bypass hoses and that's the one we didn't replace when we replaced your radiator. So there is nothing we can do for you under the warranty but if you want to pay us the $9k we'll fix the engine. Oh and pay us now for the engine inspection you never authorized us to do! Also, looking over our statements from Mac's we noticed that our odometer listed on the June bill shows an increase of 2,973 miles. But this is our second vehicle, my vehicle and I work from home so when looking at our odometer we drove less than 200 miles since we initially brought the van in, in Feb 2023. Why list the odometer reading incorrectly on the paperwork? Because they're liars! You know how the saying goes, if they'll, lie, they'll cheat, if they'll cheat, they'll steal, if they'll steal they'll..." Learn from my experience and find yourself another shop. These folks aren't going to help you they are going to help themselves. I had time today.

THEY ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER WOKED WITH WHEN IT COMES TO CAR REPAIRS THEY CALL YOU TO COME DOWN TO TALK TO YOU IN PERSON (NOT ON PHONE ) SO THEY CAN SHOW YOU WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT .THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU MATTER WALTER IS THE BEST AND SO ARE THIER PEOPLE THAT WORK ON OLDER CARS THEY TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT THEY DO THEY LISTEN TO YOU WHEN YOU TELL THEM WHAT IS WRONG WILL KEEP going to them for all 3 of my cars . And they don't do any thing until you approve it GREAT COMPANY!!!!!

Mac's Automotive did a great job. I brought my 1997 Olds Cutlas Supreme to have a belt tensioner replaced and they did it that day for what I thought was a reasonable price. It is hard to find places to work on vehicles that are this old. I was happy to have it up and running again.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Had an appointment scheduled as they are very busy, unfortunately for me my truck gave up the ghost early. I was able to nurse it into Mac's and they were able to get me taken care of and diagnose my problems. Originally I was expecting a new engine and was prepared for that. However within 2 days they had it figured out and running great. No new engine, but a fantastic repair at a very reasonable price.Would definitely recommend Mac's automotive repairs for your needs. A great shout out to Walter and the rest of the staff. Mac s Automotive was recommended to me after a terrible experience with a dishonest mechanic and issues with my heater core. They were able to flush it and get my heat going again. I ll need to bite the bullet and replace it eventually, but I definitely rest easy knowing the job will get done with integrity and expertise. I ve taken several different vehicles to Macs in Boise and they alway do excellent work. They are very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Recently I had an issue with a repair caused by a part that I had installed on the vehicle that they quickly resolved the issue the same day. I appreciate having a place in town that can work on old rigs and know what they are doing. I highly recommend them!

Just can't say enough about how well I like working with these folks. From the moment you walk in and are greeted and treated like family until your vehicle is ready to roll I know I will be treated right. This time my repair came in $170.00 below the estimate because it was found that a part we thought needed to be replaced, did not. This is a place I can trust today and moving forward. The AC on my Fiat 500 stopped working, wasn't just low Freon, but a part also failed. They were able to find the part sooner than expected and when doing work noticed some of my hood latch lights were out, so they replaced them too and only charged me for the parts. Walter answered my call to schedule a radiator replacement and I was happy he did. He got back to me quickly with a price quote and a time to bring my car. My car was ready at the appropriate time and I was so pleased that extra hoses, etc. weren't needed and he didn't add them just to enhance the price. In fact, the actual price was a little less than the quote...what a great surprise! I would definitely recommend Mac's to everyone and will use them anytime I need a mechanic. Thanks, Walter! Great Radiator and A/C shop, especially for hot rods! Had them work on our 1965 Coupe months ago and just called up for additional advice. They took the time to work through an issue I had with purging the cooling system over the phone...nice work guys!

The AC for my 1990 Mitsubishi Delica stopped working. Since it is still on R12 refrigerant my options for repair were extremely limited. Most shops don t deal with the old (and expensive) R12 anymore. They found a leaking hose that was swiftly rebuild, system recharged and tested.I am very pleased with the communication and customer service.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto A/C recharge, Electrical, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

I like to use Macs for my truck repairs and maintenance. Like all businesses sometimes things slip through or employees make mistakes, however problems get resolved! This trip was for oil change and fuel filter, and with used vehicles there s usually another repair around the corner. Macs found a small water pump leak that was replaced a few years ago and was under warranty. Communication is good and to the point. I was so pleased with the service that I received, that Mac's is now going to be my "go to" mechanic for all my vehicle needs. They were recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I listened to him. I also ran all the work they did and their pricing by my brother that works in the car parts industry in another state and he said they were right on and that I could trust them. What a piece of mind, to have finally found a great mechanic service, as my last mechanic retired. Thanks to all the guys at Mac's for the great service.

I brought my car here after a rock damaged my air condenser.
