First time working with Dowdy s and was very impressed! Our family will definitely call on them for future car repair needs. They were helpful, friendly, and communicative from start to finish. They even saved me the expense of having my vehicle towed by recommending that I check for insurance coverage first. The diagnostics were extremely quick and the outcome with repair recommendations was electronically sent. Billing and payment were a breeze (sent and paid via phone) and they even allowed me to keep the vehicle on their lot for a couple of weeks while arranging next steps. Thank you Dowdy s!

Had my transmission fluid serviced for my 13 Ford Escape Titanium and really felt taken care of at Dowdy s. Sara was extremely helpful and highly knowledgeable when we were discussing my fluid change and potential challenges we could encounter since I had no record of a previous transmission service. The Dowdy Team provided excellent service and were transparent with their work and observations; the whole transaction was effortless. I even received a 10% discount on services honoring my AAA membership. Will definitely be using this shop more in the future, like my coolant flush that s coming up.

Took my 04 f150 in for a diagnosis after it wouldn t start following a plug change. They took a look at it the next day and diagnosed it as a clogged catalytic converter. Instead of quoting me to replace it, they recommended I take it to an exhaust shop for further diagnosis. Appreciate the honest and thorough communication.

I'm really pleased with Dowdy's. All the staff interactions that I had were extremely positive and they didn't make me feel dumb for not knowing anything about my truck. I was also able to get an appointment the same week I called. I had my brakes and rotors done because I had been neglecting them. I was pleased with the price is I think it's fair. I definitely wasn't overcharged. They got the job done same day as I brought it in. I will go there again!

There should be a sixth star for this awesome automotive business! I was quoted a big job by a different automotive repair company and when I took it to Dowdy's they said I didn't need it. They power washed my engine to find leaks and looked over the whole car for me for an amazingly low price. I found my mechanics for life. Great service and people. Thanks Dowdy's!!!!!!

This service started off well. Timely, responsive and friendly. After service was done, warning light of "oil overfill" popped on. I called them and they said to bring back. I also pulled over to check and not only was it markedly overfilled, they had also left a rag on top of the engine. I told staff I had concerns and Manager came out and was very dismissive and gave excuse that it took 13.2 quarts so was hard to measure. Dismissed the rag being left. My concern: if you are sloppy enough not to add oil in increments to ensure accuracy and forget a rag - how does that equate to competent service. This was an oil change - what would happen if this was a complicated job? Shortcuts? Excuses?Finally, the time it takes to bring it back, cancel meeting that was scheduled etc. Not a good experience to say the least.Update this afternoon - I received outreach from the business management and he did an excellent job of service recovery. Mistakes happen and he did right by acknowledging my concern and discussing the situation. I am impressed by how this was handled.Service: Oil change

I took my truck to Dowdy's to have a coolant leak fixed. They clearly communicated the issues they found and were able to fix those issues in a timely manner. Their pricing seemed a little high, but I'm okay with paying a little more for quality work and good communication.

This was the first automotive shop my car was sent to and it was great! They were not able to do anything to fix my car because of what was wrong with it but I appreciate them trying. They have great service and are very friendly, I will definitely go back if there is anything wrong with my car in the future!!

I have had such an overwhelmingly pleasant experience with this Dowdy's location. I am not a car expert and I get very anxious taking my car in because I never know when I am being upsold a service I don't need or if I'm looking foolish with my choices. My car is a bit of a junker and I always feel so embarassed to get it serviced because I hate feeling judged. Dowdy's is so warm and welcoming. I felt like they cared about me and my requests and took the time to really tend to my needs. They sent a list of reccomended services for me to approve or decline which gave me time to review how much I could afford to get fixed and how much I needed to wait on. 100% reccomend them, especially to young women or other folks who feel like a fish out of water when talking about cars.

I took my car to get brakes done today. They were the best deal in town for my Cadillac! They made sure I got a ride home, and my car was complete before I expected it to be.. Great customer service. I appreciate them being in my neighborhood.! Thanks Brandon and Sara

Honest, thorough, quick, trustworthy, expert work. When it comes to a mechanic, do you need to know anything more? Dowdy on Federal is all of those. I wont go anywhere else.

Scott, Ivan & crew at North Meridian Elsinore Ave did some great electrical troubleshooting work on my F-150...had to bring it in twice because of a persistent short, but they resolved the issue and got me back on the road...at no additional charge...I've been bringing vehicles there for 5 years and have been very satisfied with price and service..thanks Dowdy's

Fair prices and we've been lucky to drop by for a change of oil or replace a light with little to no wait. If you're lucky you will be greeted by a very friendly 4 legged member of the staff.I didn't give them 5 stars because the cable its not working in their waiting room and they run out of coffee as well as hot water for a tea. They offer all this as complimentary, they do have cold water bottles though.

Thank you to Nick for accommodating us on our first road trip from BC Canada to Puerto Vallarta Mexico last month. Our Jetta died temporarily on us and we were towed to Dowdy's on a Sunday morning. We ran into a problem with my husbands truck, we called Dowdy s and had it towed there. The guys there were very courteous and helpful. They diagnosed the problem and had the truck repaired the next day. We want to thank them all for their prompt response in getting our truck in and out quickly. Would highly recommend, will definitely use Dowdy s again for any car issues.Service: Transmission

Fantastic place to get your car worked on. Dan is Amazing and always remembers my name. Gives great advice and services on my vehicle and super friendly. I especially appreciate that as a single female I never feel pressured to get anything that I don't need. Plus they always show me pictures of what is broken. Overall OUTSTANDING service and I recommend them to all my family and friends !!

The guys at Dowdy's meridian are fantastic. Every time I've needed anything done on my cars, they get me in as soon as possible and always give detailed information on what's going on. They've always taken good care of my cars. They're great.

They do good work for a fair price. They do not try to upsell, but they provide a heads-up on future maintenance needs. Timeliness, in my experience, was lacking... took two days when I was told it would be one.

They did repair the car correctly, but it took far too long, I was charged for this excessive time.I broke down on the freeway and nobody was willing to stay 30 minutes over to put the gas tank back in, leaving me to have to pay for an extra 4 days of hotel charges. Not expected effort, let alone exemplary service.......

5 Stars in my book! I was in from out of town to help my son and noticed his AC was not blowing cold air. They charged it up in no time and were super nice. If we have car issues in the future we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

They won t give a quote over the phone.Perhaps this will get their attention.They want you to come in to get all the details (the most you need in a VIN, easily done over the phone.They want to try and pitch a sale at you in person.Edit:I gave Dowdy s another location a call. They gave me a quote over the phone for my timing belt. It is more than the Toyota dealership. Additionally, the owner of this shop responded to this review with speech that borderline discredited my review entirely. It seems they want to choose to get blasted on reviews rather than admit there s a problem.

They were great. Quick to find out my issue. Had to be warrantied at dealership but let my car stay for a couple of days while I arranged to get it moved and super patient with me.

Great customer service by Bill. He was able to get us scheduled in reasonable time and out in around 48 hours. Not going with a 5 star because of the high price.
