Solid shop. Jason at the front desk is a plethora of vehicle knowledge. Honestly believe he can diagnose most problems sight unseen. Both their State street shop and their Fairview shop have worked on my vehicles. Have always felt the pricing was fair. I believe they are always forthcoming with potential extra expenses and work diligently to ensure no money goes wasted. Haven't met their technicians but have never had to tighten a bolt behind them. They seem to have a solid team there.

Jason and his team provided excellent customer service with clear and constant communication throughout the entire process. When a shop provides open and honest communication like these guys do, I become a repeat customer. Will be coming back in the future and recommending to all my friends and family.

DO NOT GO TO AAMCO TRANSMISSIONSI was charged $1,758.20 for labor, $298.00 for parts, $75.00 for supplies, and $22.38 tax for a total of $2,153.58 for a transmission repair that this shop installed less than 22 months ago and after only 8,453 miles for $3,026.80. It s only my opinion, but I feel the manager really missed out on an opportunity for good customer service. The parts and labor he is supposed to guarantee only lasted 8,453 miles and he still happily charged me $2,153.58. Transmissions are supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. Take your vehicle some where else.

A+++ Jason. You and your team earned 6 stars in my book as well as my future business. I can be very detailed at times, and these guys matched it with smiling effort. Never is a fix or a repair anywhere, ever perfect perfect, but Jason and his team are by far the closest to it that I have ever come across. They have serviced all 3 of my vehicles, which had major issues. Two of which were transmission rebuilds. But their customer service went way, way beyond that and with a smile. My daughter is excited to receive her vehicle back in nearly brand new working order according to the both of us. She could not be happier and I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

I've taken my truck there twice. Being a single woman,I am always nervous to get work done and being taken advantage of. Jason was professional and kind. He explained everything to me in detail. I recommend anyone to see him.He even offered to get me to work if I needed because a part was late in delivery. My truck will only go to this aamco for any repairs.Thank you Jason for all of your understanding of my fears and apprehension. Had my 20 yr old car fixed up here with new cv joints, timing belt, and a once over - this guy is super knowledgeable and really helped to get my car back to running like a champ. Very responsive to any questions I had and never felt obligated to commit to anything or felt like I was being taken advantage of - honest, helpful, and quick turnaround. Will definitely return when needed in the future.

Correctly diagnosed a transfer case problem after other shops had misdiagnosed and over quoted us. Been almost a year since the repair and the car is still running great. Nice work guys!

I brought in my '09 Land rover, which can be difficult to work on if you're not the dealer. Jason in the front office was incredibly helpful and kind. They quickly diagnosed my problem and had me fixed up and out the door in a timely manner and for half the price of the dealer. A week later I needed another small fix and I experienced the same excellent service again from Jason and technician Russell. These people really are the real deal and deserve to be mentioned by name. I will use AAMCO on Fairview for all of my future vehicle needs. We have had our vehicles fixed here many times! Wonderful service - always upfront about what is going on. I took my car to Aamco to have a fluid leak fixed. I was going to be out of town and unreachable while the work was being done, so I gave them very specific instructions on who to call when the problem was diagnosed to get approval to fix it, and pay for the repair. As I was returning on a Saturday and needed my vehicle upon my return I also gave very specific instructions on leaving it where it was accessible. Long story short the only step they managed to accomplish was step one, calling with the diagnosis. They never called to let my person know the job had been completed, nor to collect payment and of course the vehicle was locked in their yard upon my return. To top it off I noticed a leak in the exact same spot a few days later. Terrible customer service and lame excuses were all I got from Aamco. Suffice it to say I don't want them touching my car again so will eat the cost of their "repair" and take my vehicle to someplace that cares about their customers and the quality of their work. I suggest you do the same.

Jason and the crew were amazing and so patient with me in my car dilemma! They explained everything that needed to be done and offered a more than fair price. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked my car up today to find that they fixed my air conditioner, that hadn't worked for 2 years, at no charge! They fixed a few things for me several years ago, too. They will continue to have my and my family's business! The shop was clean and organized. I spoke to Jason and Russell, both very polite and knowledgeable. They made my service smooth and easy. This is a 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, highly recommended would definitely come back shop. Ps. You can occupie Jason for a long time if you talk about corvettes i really enjoyed my time at that shop, keep up the great work. Service: General repairs & maintenance

They bent the axle supports and destroyed my exhaust system on my vehicle with their lift. They refused to fix it or pay for the damages DON'T USE THIS SHOP.

This is the best place to take your vehicle to. My transmission went out and I called them and they were immediately there to address my needs. Very professional and excellent customer service. Jason is very knowledgeable and explains everything to you. I wish everyone was as professional and knowledgeable about their profession as Jason is. Thank you aamaco for for everything you do. I Highly recommend Aamco.

I recently moved to Bosie and had taken my car to a few other places and all was ok, but really did not feel I could completely trust a mechanic. Someone suggest Aamco on Fairview so I took my Jeep in for Transmission oil change. Not only did they do a great job at a fair price, Jason took the time without me even asking, to show me pictures of flakes in my filter and explained why it happened. Then showed me a picture of a filter that would be really bad and concerned about. In all my years, I have never had a mechanic explain everything so completely and easy to understand! Jason even went out to my Jeep because I said the heat was not very strong, and showed me how to troubleshoot. Thank you Jason! I will be back in the future!

I truly had the best experience at AAMCO and specifically with Jason. After a lot of tries with other mechanics which resulted in miscommunication and struggles, I ended up at this AAMCO. Right from the start, Jason was kind, helpful, and explained everything to me in a way that made perfect sense. He was able to get my car in, tested, and fixed much faster than I thought and also for a great price. I am so grateful I was able to get my car fixed so quickly and from such kind people. I will definitely be going back to AAMCO (Fairview) if I have any car issues in the future!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Worst experience ever.I have 2012 Mercedes E350. Its transmission started slipping. I brought it to AAMCO for diagnostic. After a few hours they called me and said that transmission should be rebuilt and it would cost me $5000. I asked them if they checked liquid level and quality. They said it made no sense as they were sure transmission has mechanical issue. As it was a lot of money and I needed to rase them I took the car home. Meanwhile I made some research and decided to change liquid. Just in case. Ordered all needed stuff for $112 and spent a couple of hours do that DIY. As a result the transmission works just perfect. I m not sure, if the problem was with liquid level or quality. But I know for sure AAMCO we re going to get my $5000 just for nothing.When I came to them, I said that I already had bad experience with AAMCO on State St a couple years ago. I bought an SUV (2008 Mercedes ML350) on winter and when it got hot noticed that a/c doesn t work. I brought the vehicle to them. They were holding it for three days and then said that a/c compressor, valve and evaporator needed to be replaced. The cost was about $1400. I couldn t afford it so decided to drive it as is. In a couple months I got a leak from power steering reservoir. Found out it cracked. Ordered new one and replaced it myself. When I was replacing it I noticed broken wire. Made a research and it was a wire from ac valve. Fixed it and ac started working. I told this story to AAMCO guy on Fairview. He said he was so sorry, and promised I would not have such bad experience with them. But finally, I got even worse experience as my list might be much higher.I will definitely not work with any AAMCO anymore. Hopefully my story will help someone.

I had to take my jeep in to get work done from another shop. They got me in right away and help me get back on the road to get back home. They do really good work and they have a great staff.

I have used AAMCO for several services, transmission went bad on my car, daughter hit a curb with her car and messed up her wheels and ball joints. Their prices are great and they talk to you and explain what is wrong without making you feel dumb. VERY friendly staff and extremely helpful and help you save money. After we spent money on the repairs, my daughters window stopped working and they took her car right back and fixed it for us. Very happy with every service we have received. After being told by a dealership my transmission control module was out and it was going to cost around 2000 dollars or more to repair. My wife Amanda and I decided we needed a second opinion. I called AAMCO, talked to Frank. He set up the arrangements to have our vehicle towed to the AAMCO on Fairview in Boise. The mechanic Todd Hartley found that what we were told by the dealership wasn't even what was wrong with our vehicle. It cost a fraction of the price to repair. You guys are beyond outstanding. You have earned a customer for life. I told one of my coworkers what an outstanding job you did and she will be bringing her vehicle to you in the near future. I will not even hesitate in referring you to anyone. Thank you again Frank and Todd you guys are the best.David & Amanda Smith

GREAT experience at AAMCO! Bought a used car and after a few days of driving it noticed that it was shifting weird when it hit 40mph. My husband called AAMCO and spoke with Frank. He was able to get the car in right after the holiday weekend to look it over. Called back with a quick fix and got us on our way. Couldn't be more pleased with our AAMCO experience. Fast, honest and quality work.....couldn't ask for more!Service: Transmission

WOW! I grew up never going to a mechanic because my dad always fixed everything. He taught me a lot but sometimes you can t fix everything on your own. I had my Subaru towed to Aamco and had the most AMAZING experience ever! I will never go anywhere else. Frank gave me honest prices and didn t charge me for the initial diagnosis. I was shocked. Go to a dealership and you ll be charged $180 just for them to tell you what s wrong with your car. DON T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME WITH A DEALERSHIP!GO TO AAMCO!!Service: Electrical

I am buying a car from a friend that would rattle and vibrate like crazy. I took it to Honda for recall. They told me right side motor mount and all this other stuff needed to be done. I brought it in to AAMCO and they found the issue. It was not the motor mount the dealership told me. It was two different ones. The car works great and the price was better than what Honda quoted me. I am so happy with this business. The staff down at AAMCO Transmissions were extremely courteous, respectful, and professional throughout our entire interaction. I needed a transmission flush, and they delivered exactly what I needed without trying to tack on extra costs and repairs. I felt extremely comfortable that they did a good, thorough job in trying to diagnose any other underlying issues. I wasn't treated as someone who might not know much and instead received top notch service. Thank you again to the staff. I will definitely be a return customer in the future.Service: Transmission

I had a strange noise coming from the rear axle of my truck. I called and Frank was extremely helpful. He offered a couple of options for repair. I brought it in, early the next day they called and had it diagnosed. Frank was very upfront about how long it would take. Parts came in sooner than planned and I had my truck back the next day. This is not my first interaction with this particular aamco. I have always been pleased with their work and attention to detail when it comes to customers. Just remember they don't just do transmissions.

I ve been here many times for my 2011 Chevy Impala LT. AAMCO has been very great with everything for me. They are reliable, honest, they will give you a deal at a great price, and they get the job done on time. I ve had time where I ve brought my car in and nothing was wrong, they gave me the estimate at no charge. I have a rebuilt transmission that has been giving me trouble in my 2004 Chevy Suburban. I called AAMCO and they said to bring it by for a free diagnostic. They called the same day I dropped it off and said that it was not the transmission, but suspected something electrical. They added that a full electrical diagnostic might cost as much as $200 and asked my permission to proceed. I was happy at the news and gave permission. The next day I got a call... they found a shorted wire, spliced and fixed it....and.... they were not going to charge me anything. WHAT!!! How many times do you hear that about a car place. They said they found it pretty quick, but I saw the electrical layout they used to diagnose the issue, and I'm pretty sure they had at least an hour into it.I am still shocked at both the quality of service that I received, the technical expertise of the mechanics, and the general good will of the manager. They have earned my business for any and all future car repairs.Service: Transmission
