What a wonderful stay. We rented a cabin for 4 nights from July 11th-15th. The cabin was amazing and the people that worked there made us feel so welcome. Gary was so friendly and welcoming. He even invited us to his birthday lunch as we were fishing on the dock. Myself and my son caught 15 fish that day right off the dock. We will be travelling back from Red Deer next summer for sure. We will also be recommending this to all our friends. Thanks so much.

Can't say enough good things about MacDonald's. My family stayed there for five nights and it was fantastic. Every single person in the staff was friendly and helpful. Our cabin was great, the marina is full service and the setting is gorgeous. The south end of the lake is quiet, scenic and stunning. Great access to Silverwood, Farragut Park (Tree2tree), Whiskey Rock, and the best end of the lake.

The owners are so sweet and answered all of my questions before our stay. We had to leave early unexpectedly, but the views are gorgeous, and the cabins are cozy with all the amenities, a great home away from home. I wish I took more pictures but rest assured the view from Cabin 9 (and all the others) is beautiful!I tried to grab a panoramic photo, so excuse the distortion, the window is level.

Me and my significantly other and her daughter stayed there in August for her daughter s 9th birthday and loved it. The COVID precautions meant we had to bring a lot of kitchen items but we were able to make due just fine. The parking can be a little narrow so keep that in mind if you re arriving with a couple of families. We would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay during covid! My husband and I wanted to get away for a few days from Oregon! Loved our cabin and the view. So much privacy as well. We have stayed at other resorts where the owners are on top of you all the time. Not here. The cabins are so relaxing and updated! The beds were awesome! We will be back for sure!

Absolutely recommend this place! My family stayed in cabin 10 in August and had a blast! Great views of the lake, very friendly staff, quick drive to Silverwood. Plan on coming here every summer if they have openings. My husband/dad/nephew and daughter fished off the rocks/docks. Caught tons of tiny fish that we threw back but had a blast doing it. You can buy your fishing license in the marina store which is really convenient. Cabins are clean and have everything you need. The private docks for cabins 9-11 are lovely. Cabin 12 has it's own beach which we are hoping for next time. If this place could have 10 stars, we would gladly give it. :)

Great locals party last weekend. Good music, longhorn bbq catered. Beautiful scenery. But freezing. I wish they had rented heat lamps. Then it would be 5

The gem of Bayview on Lake Pend Oreille . After staying many years on floathomes in Bayview, an opportunity to stay at a cabin at MacDonalds Hudson Bay Resort became available. The cabin met all our needs. Heating, cooling, well appointed kitchen with full size appliances, comfy beds and very clean. Outside, picnic tables and bbqs ready for use. Daily garbage service a plus. What is phenomenal is the view.!! Wonderful view from large bedroom window and 3 in living room. Ever changing sights and sounds of the marina and lake. The market at marina has a wide selection of Lake Girl and MacDonalds clothing. A wall of pringles!, wine, beer, jewelry and other goodies not to mention everything you need to fish or boat. Stacey was most helpful in assisting with me with sizes and picking out one of a kind locally made items. It was a memorable months stay and we look forward to returning to this beautiful and special spot. Friendy and helpful family owners made our stay stress free.

McDonald's Resort, Gary, Justin, and their employees make you feel nothing short of extended family. We've been going there for years and highly recommend them to anyone who needs a quaint place to stay and a lake to boat on. 10 stars for Gary... And to Kevin for the awesome fireworks display on Saturday night.

Sadly, we didn't enjoy our stay at McDonald's, and we had such hopes. The good part is that it's in Farragut State Park which is a wonderful place to walk. The resort has a nice vintage feel and is fairly attractive overall. What we didn't care for:1. When I made the reservation over the phone I asked about our dog. The owner said he was allowed and then proceeded to lecture me about picking up after him, and if they found any hair at all on the furniture we would not get our deposit back. My husband and I are age 70 & 64 and extremely responsible dog parents. There are ways to communicate rules without lecturing. Our dog has stayed in many nice places; we've never been lectured like this.2. Unlike most other establishments, they charged the deposit to our credit card right away. We did get it back but we covered everything with sheets we brought from home to make sure even a bit of fur flying through the air would land on anything! Of course we paid the standard dog fee which is supposed to cover any extra cleaning.3. When we walked into our cabin there was a loud air purifier going. We had to unplug it due to the noise but it was obvious why it was there; the place smelled musty/moldy.4. We had a view of the lake but it was rather useless. The window was small-ish and there was a very heavy sofa bed in front of it. There was no moving it. To see the view you had to stand and look over the sofabed. Or you could sit sideways on the sofabed with nothing to lean back against since the arms were low.5. The living room had 2 sofabeds to sit on. They sit so high that even my husband's feet dangled at 6' tall. Very uncomfortable. Also the bed was so high I had to literally climb up on it with no step stool available. If I had bad knees I'm not sure what I would've done.6. There was a sign in the kitchen saying if any dishes were left out you would not get your deposit back.7. The woman in the resort store wasn't very friendly and admitted she knew nothing of the trails in Farragut Park. She couldn't even tell us which direction to walk from our cabin into the park. (We figured it out.) To top that off, the least expensive bottle of wine they carried was $25! Most were more. So much for convenience. All in all we didn't feel welcome which is odd since every other cabin was empty when we were there (mid October). Bayview itself also felt unwelcoming with no walking areas (no paths along the waterfront or anywhere else), signs at the marinas to keep out, "no dogs" signs in the one teensy park. We got the clear impression they don't want visitors in town, other than boaters who pay marina fees perhaps. We enjoyed walking in Farragut State Park (rangers are very helpful) and the Floating Patio Bar & Grill in Bayview but we won't be back for any overnight stays. I'd say stop at Farragut State Park for a walk and maybe a picnic, then drive a bit further to Sandpoint for the night.

Had some work done on my sailboat here a few years back. Trailered it all the way up from Wyoming. Definitely worth it. Gary is a fantastically nice guy and very generous. Still grateful,Dan

One of my favorite places in North Idaho. A family owned businesses at its finest. I love the waterfront cabins and waking up to views of the marina, lake, and mountains. I'll go back every summer.

We went out on a dinner cruise on a 50 foot yacht. Came back to McDonald's resort and bought sweaters, wine, and checked out the fish caught in the derby that day. A great place to go visit

RELAX, UNWIND AND ENJOY THE LAKE VIEWS AND HOSPITALITYOur family has enjoyed MacDonald s Resort and their unequaled hospitality for many years. The MacDonald family and their employees have made every visit a memorable experience. They have shown us that they will do whatever it takes to make our stays with them fun and enjoyable. Their lake view cabins are immaculate and provide spectacular views of the lake. Whether we are fishing from one of the docks, sitting in one of the comfy chairs outside their floating store or out in a kayak or fishing boat, we are relaxed and enjoying ourselves. For our family, this is a truly unique place that s almost like going back in time when life seemed simpler and everyone treated you like family. We look forward to visiting again soon.

This is one of the best marinas! Gary has a great crew to help you with your boating needs. They carry Ethanol free gas, diesel fuel, propane, they also have a small chandlery.
