With several experienced lessons from this business I can say with every atom in my body I beg anyone not to deal with these people. Apart from the work we have had here that was thousands of dollars of wasted money later let me share a story about the morals of these people. We sold a car to a customer who never made her first payment and was unaware of where her car was at for months. She had this place fix her transmission and with months of sitting racked up in storage fees. When they called they said $3,000 will get the car back to us or they ll file for abandonment and claim the title/car as their own. Fast forwarding after we lawyer up they said it s $5,700 which we inclined to let them have the car. HERE IS THE MORAL INTEGRITY KICKER: we sold our customer a warranty and A1 filed it under the warranty and was already paid $5,700 for the work on the car and was trying to get more money out of us in the meantime. Your business, your morals, and your standards are low, disgusting and down right embarrassing. You should be ashamed and to those who read this if they ll take advantage of a situation like this don t think they re not taking advantage of you as well.Response for A1: We paid for her warranty out of our own pocket in the event something happened and fortunately it paid out, she chose not to follow through with the responsibility and you as a business failed to have the moral integrity to communicate that the balance remaining needed to be paid. You took it upon yourself to still charge us $5,700 for the PARTS AND LABOR of the vehicle. You failed to address why you wanted that excess of money when you've already been paid nearly the full amount of the repair so don't claim you're the hero in this. Shame on you.

I originally sent my truck to a shop in Griffin after using a mobile mechanic. I knew there were some things off about the truck. A1 received the truck sometime in July of 2021. I called for months asking for updates on the truck. They didn't start actually working on the truck until a few months ago. They were terrible about keeping me updated. Fast forward, they have the truck running, mind you I wanted it fixed. They called asking me about the seat bolts, which I explained were in the truck. I mentioned that I could go to the junk yard worse case scenario. They then asked me to come get the truck same day bc they are moving the shop. I got there a hour later and they weren't ready. They were trying to make me feel like they went above and beyond for the seat bolts bc they were about to go to a junk yard for the bolts, I walked out to the truck and immediately found the bolts in a zip lock bag. I ended up paying over $3,000 to get My truck back and this shop didn't even have the decency to clean the truck off AND the check engine light was still on which means i cant even register the tag bc I cant pass emissions. I went 10 miles down the road and the hose came off, and the truck ran hot. Took me two hours to get home bc I had to keep pulling over. Hopefully it didn't mess up the heads. I called the shop and they weren't helpful. Claimed they never worked on that, but the hose wasn't clamped tight at all. They claim they did a test ride, but that's hard to believe. All in all, it wasn't worth My time or money. Please find a better place to work with.Services: Electrical, Vehicle Inspection

I went in for a battery replacement, they helped me as much as they could with getting me the lowest price. They fixed and replaced the battery super quick even though they had to order the battery. Some lights popped up on my dash and Derrick did everything he could and got them off. I would 1000% recommend them for your car needs. Best mechanic shop around. Gets the job done. I highly recommend if you are needing work or in the area and need work done. You want be disappointed just give' m a little time and patience to get you going again! Very busy shop but that's bc they're good at what they do.

They won't actually fix the problem, i had a steering wheel problem they never fixed, but sure did get charged $800 dollars. I don't argue with folks. I just let them have it. I'm just here to warn other that is actually struggling out here, to be careful..

Derrick was very friendly and helped us in our pinch. We have a push button start car and our battery was messing up. Everywhere had already closed or turned us away to install the new battery and reset the codes, and Derrick helped us personally. We couldn't be more thankful for the quick and kind service. Super fast service. Derrick replaced my fuel pump and fuse box in one day at the best price around. I called Ford motor company, outrageous! Pep Boys was slightly lower than Ford. And the tow company they use...Cross towing I think it is, was 1/3 the price of two places I called for a quote. Excellent job and I highly recommend A1 Automotive.

I took my 96 Ford Explorer to these guys based on the recommendation of having one of their mechanics live right down the street. My car wouldn't start, and they swapped out the fuel pump. As much as it cost, I appreciated Derreck's honesty when I came back complaining about a weird steering issue. He told me exactly what I needed to know (bad tires and poor balancing) and saved me from wasting money on U-joints.(Update) I gave them 2 days advance notice that I was bringing my truck in to get the "check engine" light off without simply clearing the codes (I can do that myself). It still took them a day and a half to even touch it, and by then I needed it back. The light is back on as of today.You would think being given advance notice would have made my truck a priority. I'm very disappointed. I expected better.

I have used A-1 for every vehicle I have ever owned & they do an exceptional job every time. They never try to jack up my bill or tell me its something its not. The owner helped me personally & got the job done! If you want excellent service, honest work & reasonable rates then A-1 Automotive is the place to go.

I have been using A1 Automotive Repair for years now. Derrik has always taken care of me and my wife. He is honest, fair and an all around good guy. I trust him and his crew with all my vehicles. He replaced the ignition in my 2014 Expedition the other day, and it is running like a champ once again. He did an AC service while it was in there as well, and it's colder than it's ever been. The owner Derrick has the absolute worst attitude and customer service. i had to have a key programmed and was not informed what all that intailed so when I called to check and see if my car was ready he got snappy and rude because I was calling. I will never do business with that jerk ever again!

The people were great. Told me what was wrong and pricing before any work was done. Even fixed a noise under the hood for free. Simply tighten a bolt that has worked loose.

i had several problems with this business. took my car to A1 because of a friend's recommendation. my pt cruiser was leaking oil and pulling to the right.the owner is derek. i did not see. or talk to, him; but i told one of the mechanics what was wrong. his name is josh. josh said he needed to drive the car before he could assess the problem, so he drove it to take me home.in a few days, i received a call from the business to inform me that my car needed hub bearings (at a cost of around $400). i agreed to this. next day, there was also a $100 charge to fix the oil leak. i agreed to that. the next day i received another call informing me that the car needed cambor bolts (another $90) to which i agreed.i called a couple of days later to see if car was ready and was told that it was. when i went to pick it up, one of the door shocks was broken. the door would not open; so i had to leave it again. i found it odd that one of the A1 employees had driven it out to the lot, knowing that the driver's door would not open, and still tell me to come pick it up. real good customer service, right?at that time, i went into the office and told the secretary, amy, that i had noticed a sign on the outside of the business indicating that A1 was not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles. i told her that, if the business claimed no responsibility for theft or damage, then the business needed to have a locked gate or AT LEAST lock the vehicles left on their open lot. my pt cruiser had been left unlocked overnight; and i have thousands of dollars worth of sound equipment inside car. if my property had been stolen, A1 would not have covered my loss........ EVEN though they had left my car unlocked on a very visible and ungated lot!the next day, i was told again that my car was ready; so i went to pick it up. when i paid, my bill was $643.26, a far cry from the original quote of less than $400. i noticed that an alignment had been performed (which i had not authorized or even been told about). but i figured the shop owner knew what he was doing; so i paid the bill and drove away in my car.THE NEXT DAY, i was driving, and the car began to shake so violently that i was barely able to keep it on the road. i drove it back to A1 and was told that one of my tires had split. derek told me i needed new tires. now, this was ONE DAY after my alignment.did anyone at A1 tell me that an alignment would do no good until i replaced that tire? NO. i bought new tires, had them installed and aligned at another shop. i called derek today to ask why he had charged me $70 for an alignment that he knew would not work. he yelled that i KNEW my tires were bad......... which, of course, did not answer the question. it was his job to tell me to replace that tire BEFORE an allignment was performed!!i kept my cool; but told him that i was not an auto mechanic, and that it was his responsibility to inform customers if their tires were unsafe. also, i told him, i had not been told that an allignment was being performed. i had also not been told that the alignment would be useless because of my tire needs. HE CHARGED ME $70 FOR AN ALLIGNMENT THAT HE KNEW WOULD NOT WORK.i had to get another alignment today (less than a week after my experience with A1). A1 did not tell me the truth. Derek did an unneccessary alighnment without my permission, then lost his temper when i questioned him about it. i will never go back to A1, and suggest that, IF you are looking for a mechanic you can trust............ you should stay away from this one.

I have been bringing my car to different mechanics for over 7 months. No one could fix it. I brought it to A1 and they have it running like a champ. The only mechanic I will ever take my vehicles to. Thank you!!!

The lady in the office was very rude and disrespectful. They charged me 100$ to pour brake fluid in my car and got mad when we decided to go somewhere else. I will never return. Please do not take your cars here

a1 automotive has exceptional service , the owner derrick is a very helpful guy I took my car to three different places before them and they were the ones that actually fixed it, to me its the best shop in griffin and I highly recommend them to anybody, there mechanics are awesome and and they actually know what there doing

Went to have a alternator replace. They left a tool in the engine.and mess up my O2 sensor. Told me my truck was gonna be done Monday, called Monday then they said Wednesday. They don t care about your time!!!
