Nice hotel. I have stayed her about 5 times in the last three months. Rooms have always been clean and the front desk personnel has always been nice. They offer breakfast which is a nice perk. The new owner has been updating the rooms. They are very spacious. The TV , remote, microwave, and refridge has always worked,this is more than I can say for other motel/hotels at higher cost. Beds and pillows are confortable.

Well maintained motel. This place is close to pretty hiking places like black rock mountain state park and Tallulah Gorge State Park. The room was nice and clean.The reason for 4 stars was we had a really noisy neighbor whose kid would run from 7 AM in the morning and we could hear everything as the walls are very thin. Apart from that there was no electricity for about 4-5 hours.They also have a free basic breakfast. Overall a good experience.

Wifi is borderline useless. You will be waiting for websites to load. Don't plan on getting work done while staying here or enjoying yourself in any way. Tried to open my window when it got a little warm and the window is screwed shut for some reason. There was also dead bugs in the bathtub. I can hear everything everyone is doing in every room around me. These walls are paper thin. You get what you pay for I guess.

We have never ever had to pay for early arrival after our actual arrival day. Great hotel for the price. Clean quiet and safe. The roo.s have been updated. There is not an elevator..only stairs to 2nd floor..good to know..so request downstairs room if this is an issue for you. We stayed 2 nights in different rooms. Both were great. We felt safe. The property is nice with great views. There is a piggly wiggly..dollar general and several other places next door. Rooms are back off of the road. Nice quick breakfast in the lobby. We will be back.

I'm giving this place a five star rating simply because of the price/value. This place harkens back to a time in the 50's and 60's when motels dominated the landscape. They were not fancy, but they were also clean, safe and easy to get in and out of because you can park your car right outside your room.This place is simple but very afforable. It is very clean and you feel very safe here. My adage has always been that a $200 a night room looks a lot like a $50 a night room when the lights are turned off.Seriously, if you are looking for a place to crash and look around the area this is your place. I don't like paying for frills that I don't need or want. This place was simply perfect for us!Be aware when booking your reservation there is a $20 charge in addition to the room cost, and that is not refundable if you cancel your stay request.Rooms: Rooms are very clean. This is an older motel and it is not fancy.

What a great value. I found it safe, clean, and in a great location. The walls are a bit on the thin side, so you can hear other guests having a muffled conversation, but I got lucky and folks got quiet by bed time.Nearby activities: Minutes away from Upper Darnell Falls, Sky Valley Overlook, and even Black Mountain hiking.

Was skeptical about staying here due to the low price. Every hotel near this one was 2-3X the price of this one. Glad we gave it a shot. Check in was very easy. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Once we arrived at our room, we found that it was very clean and smelled clean too. The beds weren't extremely comfortable, but for two nights they were fine. Check out was very easy as well. The room was outdated. You have the normal amenities (microwave, coffee maker, television and refrigerator), but it has been a while since it has seen a remodel. I would rate 4 stars, but you can tell that the owners try very hard to upkeep the property and treat customers well. That alone is the reason for 5 stars. Would recommend if you want to save money and have a pretty pleasant stay.

I was really impressed. The room was very nice, modern, and well kept. I could see the attention to detail. it was extremely clean and had little extras like a rocking chair and decoratively folded towels. This adds charm to make guests feel welcome. Plus the mountain setting. The Other guests i saw were quiet and well mannered.

The ceiling leaked on me when I was in the bathroom on the first floor. The property response was that "it was not sewage" and did not even offer to have my coat cleaned. Talk about low standards. The office is up a big hill and you have to walk up it on the driveway.Safety: The ceiling on the first floor leaked on me from water in the bathroom above it. In room 111.

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, quiet place to sleep, this is your place. Good price, good value. There is also a small children's play area as well as a pool. The room we had looked like it had a fresh coat of paint and a new looking carpet. The staff was friendly. Several places to eat as well as a grocery store withing walking distance.

I love this place. It's not fancy but it is clean and safe and reasonably priced. Every few years I stop here on my way north and the same nice family seems to be in the office. If you want a freshly painted room with bathtubs that look like they have never been used, then this is not your place. If you want an older but safe and clean place with nice people and a great place, stay here!

My husband and I stayed here with my young daughter last night while passing through. We would definitely stay here again. It's located in a very quiet area next to a grocery store. The rooms and parking lot are very clean and well kept. Not a small speck of dust even. The bedding looked new. The staff is great! Definitely worth the price!

I've been staying in hotels & motels on both sides of the NC Georgia border over the past week and this is by far the best value. It's the best cheaper hotel/motel around by far. It's nicer than some of the $100 & $120 options. I will be coming back. The rooms are clean and so are the sheets. The orange and green design is not what I would've picked, but oddly still comes off as somewhat modern. My only gripe is that the carpets seem a little sticky and a little loose. The bathrooms are simple and clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Plus, there's a view of the mountains. That's pretty great value.

Rooms were nice. Overall I enjoyed my stay here. Staff was nice but when I called the front desk, you had no idea who you were talking to. They answered the phone by saying "Hello?". Also, my girlfriend and I had a small dog with us and the back area designated to walk your dog is not lit up. I would definitely stay here again. You cant beat the price for the room quality. Not to mention the playground and pool. Wifi was also decent. Sink was awkwardly placed.

We stayed here for one night while passing through town. I honestly wouldn't have chosen this place based on looks, but the reviews helped change my mind. The front desk person was super nice. The room was very clean to the eye and smelled clean as well. Within walking distance of a store, so that was nice. Bed slept good. Shower was not the greatest. High water pressure, almost too much. It stung my skin! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because my hubs walked around the room barefoot and his feet were dirty from that. It was hardwood and not carpet, so I'm sure that's harder to keep clean. Overall good experience and would stay there again.

We stayed 4 nights, in a 1 room with a king size bed. The overall comfort was great. Service was decent. Only 3 complaints regarding the room. The wall a/c unit had a build up of dust near the vents, the fridge was set near to warm temperature (It took a few hours to figure out how to get it cooled down enough to chill our food/drinks), and more importantly the door to our room would not fully close when we shut it. The locking mechanism is faulty. Only way to get it to lock when we were leaving the room each day was to slam it shut. When we would return, the door would be closed but it was not locked. (Cleaning service either did not know to slam the door shut or did not care). It could have posed an issue with our belongings being stolen. I hope management will fix this problem. Other than that I d give the hotel a 4 star rating.
