After a weekend of camping and 4wheeling in the mountains, the transfer case linkage on our jeep broke and we were stuck in 4L. We pulled into the shop first thing Monday morning, and Troy knew exactly how what to do. He even brought my husband into the garage and showed him how to fix it. A repair so easy and quick (10 minutes!), he didn t charge us. Thanks so much!! We can drive the 100 miles safely back home now.

My tire went flat on my way over the mountain and I just happened to stop at the gas station right next door to Appalachian auto. I didn t even know there was an auto shop next to the gas station but thank God there was!! Not only did they change my flat tire for me (after business hours) but they also didn t charge me! (I paid anyways because of the great service) very kind and very helpful people!

I can not say enough about this place. Such a wonderful place with wonderful owners. Trish was amazing to speak with. Had a heart like human not a robot that doesn't have any human morals. We got stuck in a terrible bind. Did not get to have it repaired due to financial hardships. They were so kind and went out of their way to help us. I only wish I could have afforded the price. Transmissions aren't cheap anywhere you go and we knew this. We tried our best to come up with the amount but failed to do so. I spoke with Trish and let her know the situation. As worried as I was about letting her know we could not afford it. After all of the time they let our vehicle sit on the lot. She had nothing but the kindness things to say! She understood the situation and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. If I ever have ANYTHING wrong with our vehicle in the future. Appalachian Transmissions will be the first place we go. I can not say enough kind words about this shop. I qould recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for everything! Your kindness did not go unnoticed!

I was passing though Clayton with my wife and kids when my truck started smoking, so I pulled into Appalachian Automotive. They took a look and quickly diagnosed that i had a leak in my radiator. After hearing that I was 70 miles from home, these honest folks filled my truck with anti-freeze and sent me on my way (with a few pointers about watching the temp gauge). I tried to pay them, but they wouldn't accept. I am very appreciative to have come across such good people.Service: General repairs & maintenance

On a roadtrip from NY and my windows stop working and were stuck down. I am mechanically inclined but had no tools at my disposal and didn't want to drive the 800 miles back to NY with my windows down so I asked for some help here with the power window fuse. The mechanic who was working helped guide me on how to get the windows up and saved me from an 800 mile trip with them stuck down. He was in the middle of working on 3 cars and took time out of his day to help me. Some of the best customer service I've ever gotten. He easily could have told me to pound sand but instead chose to help and never got annoyed or angry. 10/10Service: General repairs & maintenance

We cannot say enough about Appalachian Auto & Transmissions LLC in CLAYTON, Ga. for their prompt courteous service on our car. The repair was completed when stated and a very fair price. We are from Florida and it meant a lot to us to have such nice honest people to fix our car.Sylvia and a William Waugh

Took my Nissan Frontier in for new catalytic converters and a bad oil sending unit and met Troy and Pamela. They were very nice. They got my parts the next day and I was up and running in no time. Troy and the guys did a great job at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

So grateful for their honesty. We had car issues as we were leaving to head back home to Kansas and I am so grateful they took a quick look. After analyzing the long list of warnings that came up, he fixed the issue and I was on my way. Thanks so much!

I had my oil changed on Friday at a place down where I live (Not these guys) and they muffed it. They broke the O ring that keeps the oil from leaking out the bottom of the car. So I ended up at the top of Black Rock Mt. with No oil in my poor car. Some nice folks took my husband down to town and we poured 4 quarts into my car then basically coasted down the Mt to Appalachian Automotive, where the nice lady at the front desk recognized me from my phone calls. They hoisted my car up quick as quick and told me what had gone wrong, and switched out the broken O ring for a fresh one -- with no leaks.Anyway, just because Troy is a nice guy he wouldn't take our money, because he said it was too quick and simple to charge us for.Honestly, if I didn't live 100 miles away, I would seriously consider making this guy my mechanic.

I can't say enough about how wonderful they are!! My husband and I were traveling on our motorcycles, 16 hours from home and I had a sudden problem with my shifter. They were more than willing to help us with a fix and would not take payment. They just wanted to help us get back on the road and home safely. Not enough people out there like them. Thank you so much for all your help and kindness!!!!!

We broke down today on the mountain and the owner and his wife pulled over and helped push our car up the mountain and off the road. Thank you if you are reading this. We are going to have our car towed there and fixed after seeing how great they were to us.

My check engine light came on during my trip down to Cashiers, NC. I tried a few other shops before calling AA&T, but they were too busy to get me in.I took my SUV to AA&T on Thursday, July 2nd where I met the certified mechanic Troy Leblanc. He read the codes and saw that my engine was misfiring. Rather than jump to conclusions he suggested further diagnostic testing to identify the root cause.AA&T's kind secretary called me first thing Monday morning (Friday was a holiday) with an update. While AA&T could have made the repair, they would've had to have waited on a part. They said the car was safe to drive home, and that it was probably best if a mechanic in my home town made the repair. Troy would not accept any money for the diagnosis. How many service providers would go out of there way to help you over a holiday weekend and not charge you anything? Appalachian Automotive would be my first call if I had car troubles in the Cashiers or Highlands, NC, area.

Stopped by at closing time for an emergency tire plug. The mechanic agreed to do it even though it was a couple mins past closing. Perfect job on the plug, and the gentleman wouldn't even accept any money for it. A++

I have brought both of my trucks and my car here several times. I appreciate their communication and solid work. I will continually come back if they continue to treat me as well as they have.

Charged nearly 800$ for the simplest job ever.(1 hour in the most. 3 Phillips screws and a plug) Was a jerk from the start too. He s arrogant and rude. I ll never be back.
