Very bad experience! As was consistent with the most recent review, they missed diagnosed my loose battery cables affecting my car cranking up as a transmission problem. When I suggested that I never had transmission issues affecting my car starting they insisted on doing a sketchy bypass work that completely shut down my vehicle to the point of being unable to take it out of parking gear. When they came and check the vehicle they admitted that my battery terminals were too loose. As soon as I cleaned and tightened the terminals my car has cranked up with no problem. They claimed that they would submit a full refund and had a different story every time I called until I drove to the place and they failed to take responsibility and refused to honor the refund that they promised. The mechanic changed his word the owner was very disrespectful and the desk person in charge who initially suggested a full refund backpedaled from any responsibility.

Forced to give this place one star because I can't give no stars, or negative stars, which would be far more appropriate.Absolutely DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS. They kept my car for days, constantly lied to me about when my car would be ready, and worst of all, my car broke down the day after I reclaimed it from them. They misdiagnosed an engine code and claimed I needed a new fuel pump (the car only had 60,000 miles on it, and fuel pumps are made to last at least 100,000 miles or more) when the code actually indicated a faulty fuel pump sensor, a much less expensive part.Slicky's KNOWINGLY sent me on my way having failed to put my car in a safe and operable condition. Not only was this a waste of $750, but when the car broke down in the middle of the road, I had to pay another $150 to have the vehicle towed to a dealership service department staffed by honest, qualified personnel who actually know what they are doing. The mechanics there confirmed the fuel line had not been properly connected, which caused the fuel to drain and the car to stall out.If you don't want to be ripped off by con artists, and if you don't want your car to be more damaged than when you brought it in for service, DO NOT take your car to Slicky's. I wouldn't trust them to work on my bicycle, let alone ever let them touch my car again."Honest Engines Auto Sales and Service" - what a misnomer. There is nothing honest about the way they operate. They even flat-out lied, claiming that I had towed my car to their shop (implying, obviously, that it was inoperable to begin with, and that it was not their incompetence or deliberate negligence which rendered my car inoperable when it was returned to me), which was absolutely not true.I can't wait to see what sad excuse they come up with in response to this review. I've read their responses to other complaints, and they accept absolutely no responsibility for their indecorous behavior and always complain that it's the customer who is lying. Utterly shameless.Hmm, apparently they're not even going to attempt a defense which is surprisingly smart on their part, because there is nothing they can say to excuse their deceitful behavior.

This place is a joke, make yourself a favor and don't let do any job on your car. They charged me for original brake pads and couple of weeks later i had to change them again, the other shop confirmed they installed " amazon specials" not original brake pads. They overcharged on labor. Usually old people are nice, but i guess Steven is the exception.Steven said he can't provide receipts and i need to pay cash because the POS is broken.Service: Brakes

Been in Zephyrhills since 1983Finally found a mechanic that when I say check out the vehicle and let me know what else may be wrong, they go through it, give you a call, and fix anything, absolutely anything that honestly needs to be addressed for a fair fee, quickly and correctly. Hard to find a shop that does thisClean shop, excellent service, place appears to be a car lot as it is that also, but they have done work on multiple vehicles of ours and we are extremely pleasedHave Harry repair your ride !Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Brakes, Oil change

Had a flat. Stopped here since it's close to my house. They would only accept cash. 3 stars because the guy was nice and someone I'd probably trust to do work, but only taking cash isn't acceptable in today's world.

We were in a 25 foot camper for a few days to make sure we were ready for a long trip, along with a 90 year old disabled relative. Glad we did because the brakes went out on highway 54,miracle we didn't have a serious accident. Harry (Mgr) welcomed us and helped us with our relative. He surveyed the damage and told what was involved and the cost range,at the same time he saw that our front tires were bad and dangerous. I was very happy with the professionalism of the mechanics and staff. They even took us to a hotel and back. I trust this organization and would come here from 2 hours away if I needed major work.Services: Tires, Brakes

Contacted this business abruptly upon receiving a dealership loaner vehicle which I realized had defective brakes. Spoke with Harry whom asked that I bring it in to be looked at.Turns out brakes and rotors were needed. The out of state dealership was contacted and they authorized the repairs.Being disabled this was a huge concern. Harry was able to take the vehicle in to perform the repairs immediately. Awesome service from our local repair facility Slicky's on State Road 54 in Zephyrhills Florida.

They said they were giving me good tires for a low price. And I didn t even think twice about it because I was in a bind. Come to find out the good tires were dry rotted and I had to get brand new tires today because of that.

This place is a total scam. Do yourself a favor and don't even pass in front of it. They did not install properly the rotors of my truck, ended up demaging the bearings and breaking the differential of my truck, I spent average 4k and was needed just brake pads. I brought back my truck twice IN A TOW because was not possible to use it and at the end, they told me it was not their fault and I was by my self on it. So I told I was going to court, they don't care, probably they have lot of courts to go. Please read the reviwes before you go to this place. Worst shop I ever been. Runaway!Service: Brakes

I bought a truck from here several months ago and it's been great. The engine had been totally refurbished, and it was freshly painted. It runs and shifts really smooth. The in-house financing and payment plan have been easy to work with. "Used car salesman" gets thrown around as a slur, but these guys run a respectable business and I highly recommend Slicky's Tire & Honest Engines.

Guys please for your sake do your business anywhere else possible I had the worst situation with them. Bought a car from them then a couple months later the clutch went out, then the engine, after them saying they were "brand new" as in they "refurbished" it. Steven is the greediest most angriest sob I've ever met. Has no compassion to at least treat you with respect. They lie to make you feel like the idiot when they know perfectly well the scams they pull. Idk how in the hell these guys are still in business. Karma always comes back to haunt you. Edit: just to add they changed the engine twice, still was done incorrectly. At one point they installed the wrong flywheel! Idiots. The car was shaking like it had a fever my goodness. Thank God i have more financial security then I did at that time so I don't have to deal with shady places like this

Oh boy, where do I begin with this "slick" shop... Dont be fooled by their signs outside the shop, they are all LIES. Got ripped off and i ended up fixing my car at the dealership and ended up paying about 20% less. How they stay in business is beyond me. Hopefully this review will help some people to avoid being scammed.

I initially came to Honest Engine for a bad wheel bearing. . On 5/1 I went to Toyota in Wesley Chapel to diagnose what was wrong with my car (wheel bearing- documented). I took their estimate to Honest Engine where Richard (csr) assured me it would cost $212 and be done by that day. Upon receiving my car back, I noticed my ABS light was on (it hadn't been on when I dropped it off). Richard assured me the mechanic (Matt) would take a look. Matt explained he had accidentally forgot to reinstall the ABS, that he would and that the ABS light would turn off in "a few miles." I left, started driving, the light stayed on and my car started to make a very loud scraping noise when turning. That night I took my car to another mechanic who immediately knew the ABS sensor was broken but informed me to stick with getting my repairs with H.E. The next day 4/2 I went back to the shop, spoke with Richard who informed me that Matt had been fired & that he would work on my car although he wasn't a certified mechanic (he has 2 months left of school). I asked to speak to the owner, to which he responded that "he was busy and couldn't be bothered." I respected that and trusted Richard to fix the problem. He informed me that Matt had damaged my sensor, that he was ordering a new one and that the problem would be fixed that day. I waited 6 hours and when the work was complete, the sensor was off, however the scraping noise remained AND when I pressed on the brake, the car vibrated. By this time, it was closing time, Richard explained he would fix it the next day. The next day 4/3 I returned to find Richard still unable to answer what why my car had these problems, called a "neighboring mechanic" and suggested I go there because possibly Matt had incorrectly put on my wheel bearing. I made the 20 min drive to the other mechanic who couldn't diagnose the problem because my lugnut key had been damaged by Honest Engine. This is they special key (such as a fingerprint) that is specially designed for your car to take off the lugnuts and then tire. I called Richard in a panic, who explained that I could drive to Lexus of Tampa and that he would pay for a brand new one. I made the 40 minute drive, to find out that they didn't have an account there, therefore I had to pay for this on my own. I called Richard back, explained that after this many attempts I would have to take my car into a professional mechanic, seeing as the owner, still refused to take my calls, speak to me in person and that he was the only mechanic ("forced to work on cars"- his words, not mine). On 4/4 I showed up to Honest Engine at 10am, where Richard met me outside. I showed Richard the bill for my lugnut key, which he explained he wanted to pay out of pocket for, I didn't think that was fair so again, I asked to speak with the owner. Richard explained the owner had been giving out a lot of refunds for poor work so he was in a bad mood but I insisted that it was time we had a conversation. Upon meeting Steven, I introduced myself, whereas he responded "I know who you are." I explained how I had brought my car in for a repair 3 days prior with Matt who had been fired right after (he explained Matt was back) and that I was experiencing worse problems. He blatantly spoke to me that my car was "12 years old, the lugnut key was bound to break, that he would pay for that, but would not address the poor repairs made by his employees." I had asked for just half of the money back, he said no and that he was done speaking about it. He went into his office with Richard & Matt & then Matt walked out with a paper check for $40 for the lugnut key. I then went to Toyota (Brandon) had a master mechanic check out my car who explained, the wheel bearing had in fact been incorrectly put on (I had to order a new one), the steering knuckle had been damaged and that the ABS sensor was incorrectly put on. These new charges totaled almost $600.Stay away from this establishment.Do NOT be a victim here like I was!

Worst place ever! Rip Off! Bought a car and within a month or 2 had to get a MAJOR REPAIR DONE. Back on the road and again within a few months a MAJOR REPAIR. Owner doesnt care and mechanics here cant be trusted. They say they fix things and then you find out they may have used a part that was Used and the repair wasnt completed or they didnt do it right. Dont waste your time or money. I know I wont

Worried about my car I called the place 3 times to try and get a hold of the owner, Steve threatened to charge me double for calling again, wouldn't even let me talk, the place sold me a car in which I owned for 4 months and have had to put more then $400 worth of repairs in already. Consider before coming here.

Absolutely terrible, terrible service! Have had my vehicle into this place twice for A/C problems and it still does not function properly. Additionally, the arrogance displayed by the proprietor was insulting. I recommend that you avoid this business at all "costs."

Brought my vehicle in to have a tire put on it and have been here about 2 hours. Way to long for a tire! The front desk guy comes out and said oh that's a gmc after I told him it was a dodge. I will not be coming back
