Another mechanic had worked on the brakes for my work vehicle 4 times and I could still hear a grinding sound. Brought my work vehicle to these guys and they found the issue quickly. Had the vehicle in and out the same day and at a very good price. Fredo sent me updates and pictures of the problem. I would definitely recommend this shop.

I had a heater hose replaced a few months ago. I paid a few hundred dollars and they didn't even put the correct hose back on. They went the cheap route and used a regular hose and hose clamps. They could have told me this and I would have done it myself!! I'll never use them again

I would never use tuffy again it use to be a great place. I went in with a small coolant leak and they said I needed a hose and new thermostat which they claimed they fixed but as soon as I turned on my vehicle the engine light came on so they reset it and on the way home my truck almost over heated needless to say I had to have it towed twice since going there never again a bunch of croaks that don't know what they are doing you should have your AAA approval taken away from you!!!!! Before I brought it in to you guys, it took over a week for the coolant level to go down btw I have a cdl license so I know not to drive a vehicle if it starts to over heat I only took it to you because I was to busy to do it my self never again.this is what I found when I pulled apart the brand new gasket and surface that you guys said you did a day earlier and I only drove my truck for maybe an hour before it started to get hot nothing was done right!!

I had an issue awhile back n took a chance on Tuffy Automotive Tire n Service. Brian the manager was personable n efficient as were his staff. He is my go to for all my automotive needs. No matter how small my issuehe always takes the time. I highly recommend his services!! Thank you!!!

I can t say enough positive comments about this location. For years, I went to a different car repair shops, and always felt like I got taken advantage of. I found Tuffy Tire a couple years ago and I will not go anywhere different. The manager Brian has always been honest and open with everything. I truly feel like he genuinely cares and is not about just making money, but making you happy and ensuring your car is fixed. Thank you for always being trusting. I will always be a loyal customer!

Called Tuffy about a nail in my tire, they got me in right away and took great care of my c7 corvette! i was in and out within 20 minutes and the staff was very welcoming and helpful with all the questions I had! 2 stars because I had a service before done by them a year ago (they fixed my clutch slave cylinder) which was done fast.Fast forward to now, my car wouldn t start after i ran into a puddle. This was around December. Thought we could get it done ASAP even if i needed a new engine, don t have an extra car or time to work on it myself. (Went to school for auto and worked at a dealership 4 years, when i moved from NJ sold most of my tools so these are the guys i go to for jobs i am unable to do) Guy I spoke to said we would start by replacing the starter. (Couple days later i called) told me they changed it and he would a compression test and if it was ok to change spark plugs and fluids. I said whatever needs to be done just let me know if i need an engine. At this point i knew it was the holidays so I was patient and even shopped for a car. 2-3 weeks after i get invoice asking me to accept a starter and engine replacement. Called and asked why i had to accept the starter replacement if they told me they did it? He said it was for the engine the starter is in there.Ok ok. Now I have another car to get by in so i kindly declined and just paid for what was done to the car already. Guy offered to take the starter out and just charge me for diagnosis. I said no im fine with the new starter.This is the part that bothered me besides the lack of communication picked my car up same day. after a couple days went to diagnose it myself, ignition coils were left out, unplugged, battery completely dead. Went to charge it. Cant keep a charge. Had toyota warranty so not a problem but they didn t test the battery or informed me (it was only 2.5 years old)When i put it back i realized i had my old Toyota starter in there. So i called and asked them if they did anything at all to the car, because the starter had rust and i was charged 330 for the diagnosis and starter. Guy told me well it was sitting for 3 weeks its possible uh no.. there wouldn t be lol. Then proceeded to tell me that it was remanufactured? Ok which one buddy. New then rusted or remanufactured and rusted? even if it was remanufactured, the bolts wouldn t be rusted. So anyways he told me to take it out and bring it back. So i did, the next day they call me and apparently the tech took it out once they realized it didn t work ok so why would you charge me for it? No reimbursement or anything. Just a starter I paid for to get switched that never got switched.I understand the whole world doesn t know about cars. But don t lie, that s why no one trusts mechanics because dirty techs like these trying to invent BS when called out. Maybe thats why he asked me to swap it out with old one again when i was on the phone Edit: the same guy I was on the phone with said he was the tech who was working on my car.

Had a tire going flat while driving, luckily I noticed this place in the distance. I pulled in and 15 minutes later I was back on the road- fantastic!! Definitely great service!

I was traveling through and my tire sensor went on. I stopped in hopes someone could take a look and advise, and within 15 minutes all four tires were checked and issue resolved. Amazing customer service, and so thankful they were willing to take the time to quickly check and assess the issue for me.

They really got me out of a jam with a nail in my tire super quick and very reasonable. Four other places I went told me it would be 5+ hours and one said they couldn't take me till the next week for something that Tuffy did in literally*10 minutes. *(I did have to wait 45 minutes because they were busy and I was fit in for this). Let's be serious people...we all know places are busy and may not be fully staffed but if a place can fit a customer in to do a 5-10 minute job to do a good deed and show good faith and help a fellow human ...what is the damn harm!! KUDOS to TUFFY for that ALONE!!!and that's my 2�

I gave tuffy a two star rating because I know the device I received is not par to previous service I've gotten there before. Otherwise it would have been a 1 star.I scheduled an appointment online through their website 3-4 days prior to the date I wanted to come in. I'm not sure if this particular location is swamped because of high traffic, because of not enough hands, or what the deal was, but I dropped my car off at 7am at opening as scheduled. My appointment information with written explanation of my car's issues was nowhere to be found. I left after explaining my concerns, letting them know I would be picking up after service was completed. 12/12:30pm rolled around and I hadn't heard anything so I called in. Received a vague description of what some of the causes could be and their recommended care. Since i could not fulfil every part of the recommended service, I asked for the following: a rotation of my tires, an alignment, and for the front and back guard bumpers on my car to be resecured under my car.Another few hours passed and I had my car picked up at 4 and nothing had been completed. No tires rotated, no alignment, and no fastening of my under guards. They did not charge me, did not claim to have completed anything. But I could not leave my car any longer as they close at 5 and are not open on Sundays and I have to work on Monday.I don't understand how my car could be there from 7-4 and nothing be done. I was extremely dissatisfied with the service received.I'm writing this all out so the company who replied to my 2 star rating and others can understand why I rated the way I did. They stated they have no record of me having come in for service. That's because I don't know what they did with my online appointment scheduling and the requested work was not completed.

Been to this location twice so far for a few different repairs. The staff are friendly and efficient, prices are good especially for how quickly they are able to complete the work. I always feel better leaving this place knowing that my car was handled with care

I ve been going to Tuffy Auto & Tire Service since moving to Hillsborough County. Tuffy professionals make it a point to provide excellent service. They are thorough in the work they perform. From the time you enter the building until you leave is a pleasant experience. Their customer service is great. It's been a long time since I've been to an auto service center and felt good after I left. Fredo and the guys at this location were awesome. Went above and beyond checking my car over and taking care of the things I needed, and kept me up to speed on their progress. You know that old saying about how hard it is to find a good mechanic? Well, Brian and his mechanics are the hard to find good type. I have a 22-year old truck with 225,000 miles on it, and the only reason my truck is still on the road is because of Brian and his mechanics. Solid and honest service. They never try to sell you on work or parts you don't need. Very affordable rates and always 5-star service. Don't hesitate to call these guys if your vehicle needs parts, service, or tires. Awesome staff! I came in to have them patch a screw that I picked up in my tire, turns out between the time I saw the screw and got to stuffy it had fallen out on its own. The guys at the store pointed out the lack of anything to fix and sent me on my way (after making sure there was no air leak from the spot that the screw had been). I ll definitely be back in the future!

GREAT PEOPLE DOING A GREAT JOB I ve been a customer at Tuffy on Gunn Hwy for years. They worked on my 2006 Ford Focus and also on the car I had before this one. I always had a great experience at this garage. Their prices are very reasonable, they won t recommend unnecessary repairs just to make money - it happened to me in other places. They are friendly and knowledgeable. I never had any issues with any work they did for me. If anything is less than satisfactory they always fix it promptly. I totally trust them with my car repairs.

I've been taking all my family's cars here for almost 20 years. Brian and the guys are knowledgeable, fair, honest, and upbeat. It's really nice to know i have a place i trust when i need to drop off a car. The work has always been done quickly and with quality. When there are options with how to fix something they discuss with you to help you make the best choice. I appreciate these guys..
