The reviews don't reflect how good this shop is. Jose is a good mechanic, he take good care of my car and was always able to fix it almost the same day I brought it in. Before driving back across the country, a radiator hose broke. The team at swedish listened and promptly got my car fixed and back on the road. Their service is only superceded by their quality of work. THE BEST! The AC in my 2010 Volvo XC90 would only get marginally cold after driving for 20 minutes. I got it checked and was told that the pressure was way off and the compressor needed to be replaced. Calling around I got prices from $1,100 - $2,000. I found Swedish Motor Car and Jose was the last person I called. Within a couple of minutes of me telling him the situation, he thought it was my compressor pressure valve, not the compressor. I asked him how much to diagnose, which he immediately brushed off and told me to just bring the car to him and he ll look after it. I had the car at his shop this morning at 9 and he confirmed it was the pressure valve within 5 minutes. I was back on the road at 11 with ice cold air, my broken compressor, and it only cost me $377 a far cry from what I thought I d have to pay. I ve taken my Volvo to other shops, but after my experience today I m ONLY going to Swedish Motor Car. Jose and his team are #1! Thanks guys!

Excellent! I had originally taken my car to the Volvo dealership and they gave me a really high estimate and said it would take 4-5 days to fix the problem. I went to Swedish Motor Cars and Jose not only quoted me less than half of what the dealership did, but also fixed the issue in ONE day. Jose and his team are knowledgeable and kind. I won't take my car anywhere else from here on out.

Will not take our Volvo anywhere else! Jose is very fair and knows Volvo's inside and out. Fixed it on schedule and right the first time. Took our vehicle to another shop first, and ended up towing it to Jose at Swedish Motor Cars, thank god we found him. Don't do like us and try taking your Volvo to a regular repair shop, Volvo's have special tools and parts that if you don't know what your doing (like our first mechanic) they will strip specialty bolts with wrong tools and can cost you a lot more, Bless you Jose for feeling sorry for us and didn't charge the extra time to fix the other mechanics mistake and charge less than the other shops originally quoted price!

This place is great! I took my Volvo to 2 dealerships where no one could figure out what was wrong with it. I found Swedish Motors, took my car here and the problem was diagnosed and fixed within a day. The mechanic was straight forward, honest and the pricing was so much better than the dealer! I have always been a dealership person but I will never take my Volvo anywhere else but Swedish Motors.

Were told that fuel pump on Volvo S60 was bad. Replaced for almost $1100. Got car back with same problem. Told it needed a fuel modulator also. Another $600 and it still won't run. Has no clue what else could be wrong. Offers NOTHING. Another mechanic spends some time on it and says the transmission is bad and isnt worth fixing.Out $1600-1700 and will now have to junk the car.

Found Jose on accident! I've done most of the work on my P2 S60 but after talking to him after having him look over my car for a second opinion... My conclusion is that he is extremely honest with his diagnosis, workman and prices and I don't live close by at all! Thank you Jose!

Swedish Motors 6014 E Hillsborough Ave, Tampa FL - The Proprietor Jose intentionally deceived me by promising to use "Volvo parts only" on my car when replacing my front brakes. Even after I paid for them and he opened the box and showed them to me. But, only to discover by the actual dealership within days later they were NOT Volvo parts only. Immediately recognizing an integrity issue with this person I obtained in writing from Volvo their findings plus obtained a lawyer and walked into his shop (because I felt being a female he could not double talk me again). Recognizing me, he listened then immediately pulled up my account in his computer then pulled out his big checkbook and wrote me a check refunding the total bill saying "ok its over." It occured so fast I didn't have a chance to also confront him for charging me for 7 quarts of oil when the dealership only used 6 quarts. He truly deserves a one star rating for lacking in integrity, being dishonest, deceitful, sneaky, and perhaps seeing an opportunity to outsmart a female. I still remember how you made me feel when someone recently asked for a non dealer referral...

Im a Dealer. I Brought my car with Engine performance reduce. Owner told me the sensor is bad and need to replaced. Payed $195. After 4 miles on a road got the same problem. Brought it back and been told need to fix ac and that s why it s reduce performance. It will cost $500. I came third time with my friend who is mechanic and owner explain him ac good it just a fuse need to be replaced but for some reason did not replaced it. Waste $200 bucks for nothing. Owner refuse to reimburse money.

Great guys up there at Swedish Motor Cars. They've worked on my 97 jeep, both of my parents volvos and my 99 saab as well. They can fix anything and will never try to rip you off.

Screw this place. I go there for a radiator defect and one bastards says 1500.....i said no, then an hour later another bastard of theirs comes up to me and says $59, 59 DOLLARS!! THIS PLACE IS NO GOOD.
