Looked long and hard for a competent shop to rebuild my dodge diesel 68rfe transmission. Steve came highly recommended by several local diesel shops. I stopped and talked to Steve, he obviously knew his business and assured me a painless experience. I dropped my truck on a Monday and received a call to come pick it up on Thursday. I've waited a couple months just to ensure issues didn't crop up up after some use.The transmission functions flawlessly and has zero shift flare that is experienced with factory built 68rfe's. Can't say enough good about Steve! Drama free service and quality work at a great price!

Steve did an absolute great job with my truck. He was very conscientious of cost and I feel like he treated my wallet like it was his own. I could not of asked for better service. I would highly recommend him and his shop!

FINALLY!!! A business with great customer service! As we all know it s pretty much extinct these days! But I found it here and I m very appreciative! So after our service today we have use this company at least 3 different times now & every time has been the exact same nothing short, of amazing customer service, & great work performed. Steve & his wife have done everything they can to work us in at short notices & work at a fast an timely manner to get our vehicles back to us in the same day. Thank you for amazing service. Took my truck to a few different shops & the couldn t figure out the problem. Dealt with Steve had the truck dropped off & received a phone call the following morning. Truck is running great. What a fabulous experience it was dealing with Steve, I highly recommend Ralph's Transmissions! Steve took the time to listen to me about the problems I was having with my transmission, explained the possible causes and offered a repair estimate that was completely accurate. A few days later after he rebuilt my transmission he took the time to show me the old parts and pointed out the many problem areas he had discovered. He used quality parts, worked quickly and did everything he said he would do. My Jeep now shifts like it's brand new! Thanks Steve!

Owner Steve Maus is professional, friendly, & explains automotive issues in a way we can easily grasp them. He does this without talking down to people. Easy to see why his business IS the go-to transmission place for miles around.He replaced the transmission in our 2017 Chevy Suburban & it runs great now. Brought in ram 2500 to get a rebuild, Steve said it'll take a week and a half, instead got it done under 4 days. Truck is back in buisness

After making the mistake of putting my phone number on the internet in search of a used transmission, Steve from Ralph s Transmission called to ask if I was in need of service and made me aware of an out of state company attempting to sell me a trans mission that was local to me but was going to charge me shipping from out of state.Needless to say, people like Steve that go the extra mile and lookout for locals who hadn t even become customers yet, have my admiration, my business, and awesome reviews on Google.He finished the work in a 3/4 of a day and a full day ahead of estimated schedule. I have used Ralph's for multiple transmission rebuilds. I have dealt with Steve direct he is extremely professional and more than fair.Recently we had an issue where another component failed and damaged a transmission he had rebuilt for us. He redid that job at NO LABOR charge parts only. I have been in the automotive business 25 yrs but this practice of redoing a job for free when the job you did was perfect is unheard of. Believe me I worked for another transmission shop in sarasota county for 14 yrs and have never seen this.Steve thank you so much for helping us out. We will be using you for many years to come.

Talked to Steve on the phone and got a quote for a 2008 Chevy uplander. he got me in and out significantly quicker then quoted and ended up costing less. I am very happy with the work done, Ralph's did a fantastic job. I could not recommend this shop enough. Thank you so much for taking care of my parents. If you want a honest shop that does quality work at a very fair price, look no further. Thanks again!

Overall he did the job requested. Im sure he did it well. Two stars because the owner Steve is difficult to talk and engage with. He offends easily. I asked basic questions to gain more knowledge and I offended him he became argumentative at times. He replaced a part that had nothing to do with my transmission rebuild and at 1st I was grateful but then once the repair was done my jeep didn't run properly. He says he tried 3 different crankshaft position sensor and still same issue. Discover that I still had a transmission leak! Yikes not good for paying $1,500 for a complete rebuild. Spent another $450 at my mechanics just for them to tell me it was overfill and the same very part Steve put in was the problem. So now I've paid 3 times for the same part. Steve did say that once it was done at my mechanics bring it by and he will fix the leak. I did and he fixed the issue of the leak. I asked for a refund of the defective part he installed and his reply was sorry no refunds. My mechanics even noted on my work list order what they found to be the problem. So basically I paid him for a broken part, bought through him and he would not replace or refund me. Pretty much ripped me off $65.Just tells me what kind of business man he is. I won't go back nor recommend his shop. He painted my transmission even though I didn't ask him too. Just wanted it rebuilt and original.

Ralph's Transmission exceeded my expectations and the entire process of getting the transmission rebuilt on my F150 was smooth and easy. They were always polite and informative when speaking with over the phone and in person. Steve did an amazing job. My truck drives like new. The results well exceeding my expectations. This shop is also honest and fair which is hard to find. I would highly recommend to anyone spooking for transmission work.Service: Transmission

One mechanic suggested that my transmission was toast and would cost about 4000 to swap out a junk yard transmission (2500 labor) without having diagnosed it first.Steven tested mine in front of me, explained things thoroughly, then repaired it for around 450.I couldn't be happier with this place!Service: Transmission repair

Was referred to Steve by Dean at Jay and Deans Auto down the street. Stopped in on Monday morning first thing and was told my transfer case had 3 pinholes and wasn t holding fluid. I saw this for myself as Dean had added just a few minutes prior and I watched it pour out. Anyway Steve ordered the part from Orlando and by Tuesday evening I was enjoying my vacation again. Thanks Steve for fast and knowledgeable service. I read up on issue and Steve was spot on. Highly recommended and fair.

Had to have my transmission replaced. Called the closest shop to where I broke down. Within 45 mins the tow truck was there and took my expedition to this shop. They diagnosed it and explained everything thoroughly. I approved the replacement and had my truck bad 2 business days later. Steve was fantastic in discussing options and equipment. Our Van broke down after some home repairs were done, and we had no idea what it could be and was afraid it was the transmission. Thanks to Ralph s transmission where we had it towed, he found the easy fix immediately and had it fixed the same day at a great price!! We Definitely recommend them!

Steve is awesome guy I thought forsure my power stroke was due for a new transmission I brought it to him and all it needed was a $200 dollar solenoid. I drove 200 miles to get to him but I m sure glad I did.Thanks Again steveService: TransmissionService: Transmission

I took my van to Ralph's for the first time with a horrible differential noise. They squeezed me right in, called me with an estimate, called back as they got deeper into the job and found another issue, and completed the job in a day and a half. I felt the price for the job was fair; most of it was for parts. Steve (the owner) was my contact throughout the whole process, he patiently answered all of my questions, and was a real professional. I was very pleased with the speed, quality, price, and communication regarding this job, and would recommend Ralph's Transmissions to anyone based on my experience with this shop.

My parents and i have both gone here and received great service. The last car i took there needed a new transmission and they were honest enough to tell me (after finding other prproblems also) that the car wasn't worth the investment. They could have easily let me spend my money on the transmission and dealt with the other problems somewhere else, later, but they didn't. I can't tell you enough how much i appreciated their honesty.

Steve is always available to help diagnose my auto problems, even if not transmission related. They also rebuilt a trans for my old van, and its working like new. Highly recommend!

I was visiting Sarasota from out of town and my transfer case went out. I asked my brother, a retired mechanic in Bradenton if he could recommend a shop, and he said that he did not know of any reliable shops. I also asked a childhood friend of my wife's and a small business owner in Sarasota, if she knew of anyone. She said that they have had several transmissions done a Ralph's through the years and were very satisfied. I contacted Ralph and he gave a quick and forthright evaluation of my situation and gave me a quote, noting that at my milage (175k) he would probably need to replace everything. He completed the job on time and when I picked up the car, the bill was substantially less than the quote. He said that when he got inside, it didn't need as much repair as he had anticipated.I have been driving the car for 2 months (about 3000 miles) and it works perfectly. Ralph does good work and he is an honest man. What more could you ask?

Steve is definitely a prime example of a son who followed in his father's foot steps. Steve is the most knowable courteous man if ever meet which one of many reasons I've been doing business at Ralph's Transmission since 2008
