Don t bring your car here for a basic oil change. Charged me almost $300 for a $40 oil change. This place has gone to hell. Do Nott s go to Notts. place is awful in so many ways. Please don t respond. You ve already stolen my money. No need to hear your synthetic spew. By the way, I did not approve synthetic at $300

Unfortunately this place used to be great. I was charged for repair plus leak $1400,00.I got my car back and found drops of oil on the floor. I took it back and they charged me $680 for the EGR valve to fix the leak. the next morning the car was still leaking.the guy explained, i quote:"when we seal any leak there will be a weak point and ends up leaking."" Very good pretex to keep you paying money .what a vicious circle !!! They dont fix the problem but charge you thousands of $$$$.... if you're nice they'll think you are an idiot and take advantage of you......

Great place to bring your vehicle! This is one of the only shops in Sarasota fl I would definitely recommend for all of your full service needs. This is not your run ,of the mill shop . They are professional, friendly, transparent, and decently priced. If I had to sum it up in just a few words, you will leave this place feeling absolutely confident in their work .

Dropped my mustang off over night because of a belt issue. Problem was fixed the next day. No issue or concern on my end. friendly, quick, experienced automotive machine of Sarasota. Also they are family owned, Can t go wrong.

Don t bring your car to Notts automotive. They charged me $800 to change an ignition coil and oil change. Run away.

They are such an honest and amazing repair shop! They always take care of the issues on my car seamlessly and quickly!!! They are also family owned so the owners are extremely sweet and attentive.

Steve was very nice and understanding, start to finish. Though the problem was way too much to fix, he was more reasonable then others.They were amazing and I highly recommend them to anybody! You can totally trust what they have to say.

I've never written a review of an automotive service shop in my life because, frankly, just about all of them are terrible. However, I would award 6 stars to Nott's if possible. One of the owners, Tray, was perhaps the nicest, most honest, and straight forward person I've ever encountered when faced with an auto emergency. On route from Pittsburgh to Naples, our Jeep broke down outside of Sarasota just days before Christmas. The first two places we called couldn't help us but both places, unsolicited, recommended Nott's. Tray, when hearing our story, fit us in right away to diagnose the problem. And, it's not like he wasn't already busy. His shop was full and his crew pulled a car out they were working on to take a look at our problem. The diagnosis, not surprisingly, was grim and Tray was very forthright about the options and his recommendation (not worth the major fix). He could have taken advantage of our circumstances but instead helped arrange for our rental, didn't even charge for the diagnostics test (!), and as a final gesture of extreme goodwill, let us leave our Jeep on his property for the time being until we figured out a trade-in / disposal solution. I'm not from the Sarasota area but would undoubtedly recommend Tray and Nott's for anyone looking for honest and fair automotive help.Service: Engine repair

I had a referral from my friend s networking group to use Nott s Automotive. Such referrals are tracked and treated very seriously as part of the paid-membership networking group so I was very pleased. I called the shop to see if they could work on my 99 Volvo - not everybody has the old computer & tools to work on those cars anymore.Steve, in the phone, confirmed that he could service the car but that it was 1.5 weeks to get an appointment. No problem. I told him I would call back when ready to schedule.I emailed the owner, Jennifer Nott, in order to satisfy the requirements of the referral process.Turns out Steve, the service guy, answers her email - and comments sarcastically about having spoken to me on the phone prior. Nice, he seems chaffed. Maybe it s just me,but when I called the wait was ten days and now it s 4.Anyway, I took in the car and was very nice, explaining the serious oil leak. He begrudgingly writes up a service ticket and takes the car. Later that day they send me a video of the estimate and problem. It s $1632 and they don t have the tool. It ll be four days and Steve insults me about my car because it has been sitting 4 months (although I cleaned it up well).A week later, they still don t have the right tools so I picked up the car to get it back. Steve decides to charge me $60 for diagnostics I never authorized (half hour of work) to spite me. On the phone he had told me there was no charge.I am sooo glad they are not working on my car. My friend asked to speak to Jennifer, the owner, and Steve laughed, commenting she is never around here. So they extorted $60 with no work. Total jerks. Nott s Automotive did get a review out of it.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I've gone to Nott's Automotive for several year's, even when the previous owner was there. They are honest, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. I was there this morning because my brake light was on and my car stated that my brake pads needed to be repaired. Expecting the worse, Mark called to my brakes were good and did not need replacement. Honesty! I highly recommend this garage.

Great experience. Called them Monday morning, they were able to take my car on the same day and did a wonderful job. Really like the video they sent me with all the details of what was wrong. Easy and straightforward communication, clean and efficient job. 100% recommended.

Nothing worse than a flat tire (slow leak with metal in the tire) on a Monday morning, and I use my truck for my living .Tray the owner was nice enough to see me first thing despite it being early Monday morning and low staffing like everywhere .He was able to quickly find the issue . The shop doesn t do new tires (it s a repair and BG Products maintenance shop) however he made a phone call up the road to Goodyear where they actually had my tire, he did not have to do that EXCELLENT SERVICE TRAY!!!

AMAZING customer service! Trey got me in at the last hour before closing, I couldn t be more thankful. My AC is blasting now! And the price was better than I expected for a freon refill/recharge. My car had three problems. The windshield wipers, the bright headlights and the air conditioning weren't working. I took it to an automotive repair shop that has a decent reputation. They said it needed a new windshield wiper motor and bright light switch and that the dashboard would have to be dropped in order to figure out the a/c problem.Then I took it to Nott's Automotive for a second opinion. They adjusted the windshield wipers (they were installed incorrectly), fixed a broken wire to the light switch, and used a small camera to look under the dashboard and fix the a/c problem. I didn't need a windshield wiper motor or light switch and the dashboard didn't need to be dropped. It cost less than a quarter of what the original mechanic estimated and took less time to fix.Nott's gets all its 5-star ratings for a reason! They are expert at diagnosing problems, assessing repair options, and fixing your car correctly, the first time. They are honest, their prices are fair, and they are all round nice people, from the office to the shop.Since my first repair, I've taken my car in for other issues and have enjoyed nothing but stellar service and fair pricing. Plus, they always explain the problem and the solution (or solution options), so I am confident in the work they are doing.P.S. I don't often take the time to write reviews, but felt compelled to do so because I am so delighted with Nott's!

I have to thank the technicians at Nott's automotive, they provided a very detailed diagnosis of my vehicles issues that included an HD video walkthrough of their analysis. The price for their labor was reasonable and they had my car up and running better than ever within 24 hours. I was traveling back to Tennessee after helping a relative in Englewood with storm damage. My car nearly stalled on the highway. Notts got me in and out right away. They could have taken me to the cleaners but they didn t! $184 dollars later, I was back on the road. This was my first time at Nott's and they are great! I just needed a battery for my key fob. I didn't even have an appointment & they quickly changed the battery in just a few minutes! I will definitely use them again!

In the few years we have been taking all of our vehicles to Notts I first need to apologize to Trey and Marc for not providing an exceptional 5 star rating sooner! My apologies!Notes automotive is honest, professional, and provides high quality service! We no longer take our cars anywhere else. If there is work they don't do they will refer you to another highly reliable location.. If you are looking for an honest, fair opinion on your vehicle servicing/repair I highly recommend this team! Great place to bring your car. New to the area and picked them due to the online reviews. Would give 10 stars if possible. They do a fantastic job. Show you everything needed to be done. Never Rip you off and accommodate your schedule. Staff is always friendly and understanding.

One doesn t often say I had the best experience at the auto mechanic s yesterday but low and behold, I am. Notts was recommended to me by a friend, and they didn t disappoint. Not only did it have the feeling of a family business, but I felt like I had been going there for years, even though yesterday was the first time. Super friendly, half the cost of the dealership, and I picked up my vehicle feeling confident instead of frustrated and ripped off. Thank you, Notts. The whole experience was a pleasure, from the first call to the vehicle pickup.

Brought my wife s new truck in for an oil change by the way which they did for free because she was a nurse. They let me know of a small issue with the motor, which I will bring in next week to have fixed. They were fast honest and very informative. They have earned our families Automotive service.

Since moving from Sarasota to North Carolina, I ve yet to find a reputable independent auto shop to service my BMW.Because Knott s automotive was my mechanic of choice, I m used to the bar they ve set, which is extremely high. This makes it impossible to find a new shop of choice.Luckily, my parents are in Tampa, so you can bet I m getting all service and repairs done at Knott s every time I visit them. I just refuse to let anyone work on my car.My first experience at this shop tells you all you need to know about the people that work here. I was in for an AC repair and planned to sit in the lobby until it was done, as I didn t have a ride.The second I sat down, one of the employees came up to me, unsolicited, and offered a ride back to my house so I didn t have to sit around bored out of my mind.Turns out this wasn t one of the employees, it was the owner himself. I took him up on his offer and he even picked me up hours later.The AC service, by the way, was phenomal. It s been a year since the tune up and it runs cooler than ever before, all for like $80.Rarely do I take the time to compliment a business for doing their job, but Knott s goes above and beyond and I m compelled to recognize that.Services: Engine repair, A/C installation & repair

Nott's Automotive is a hidden gem in Sarasota. Everyone should have a friendly, trustworthy mechanic on speed-dial. I've had several interactions with Nott's Automotive and every time I've been impressed with how they treat customers and manage the business. Pricing is always fair and they are honest and upfront about any additional maintenance needs.

Happy to finally have a mechanic we can trust. Nott's Automotive has helped us with our cars over the past few years, from major repairs to oil changes and all work has been excellent. The office staff is great and works around our family's busy schedule.
