Took my car in for a new muffler They identified the issue made recommendations and we left super happy. They even took me on a drive around the block to make sure I was happy with the overall sound and performance. Highly recommend these guys!

I was told my issue was catylac converter. Picked up car expecting issue is resolved and drive a block down the road and my car resumed the same issues I had prior to taking it into this shop so returned to shop he then said a sensor needed changed so I agreed to that and my car still had the same issue. Turns out he didn t replace the catylac converter he only rigged it telling my husband he can t lift the part to put to put on by himself. $1200 later my car problem was the exact same. I will not return to this shop. We recently moved from out of state and used this shop because it is near my home and had good reviews online.Service: Exhaust

OMG!!! How lucky am I that found this shop?? I m a senior & new to this area and rarely drive to Pensacola ..so grateful to have found this gem!!! I was in need of muffler repair & tired of hearing drop it off for a few days & I ll have a look at it this kind gentleman had it up on the rack & an estimate within minutes of my arrival!!! I went next door to have a cup of coffee & came back to my car purring like a kitten!!!! Thank you so much . I ve found my new repair shop I would give this kind gentleman & his wife 10 stars if I could!!Service: Exhaust

I've been taking my vehicle to John for several years, because he is the best and runs his shop well. His prices are fair, and his work is excellent. I've never felt taken advantage of, the problem has always been thoroughly explained to me, everyone is kind and courteous. They take the extra time to show you exactly what was done, parts changed, very transparent. Can't recommend enough!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes

Was able to drop vehicle off with no notice. Got complete brake job, both axles. One of the better prices in town. No hidden charges or, "By the way, you need this." John, was very helpful and got us out as he quoted. Have used them for years and trust more than anyone else in town.

Great service and price. I demolished my midpipe on my Camaro on a few too many speedbumps and he fixed it right up for me same day nobody else would see me. He charged 1/4 the price of muffler masters locally and did a way better job. Service: ExhaustService: Exhaust

My family and I have been bringing our vehicles to this business for years. John (the owner) has always been honest, direct, and willing to explain (as well as show you; unlike most shops) in detail all aspects of the repairs needed or recommended.My vehicle has always been repaired in a timely manner and I've never needed to return for issues arising from the repair. This business has been around with John for over 20 years and it's obvious why! This guy is a hard worker who knows how to get the job done right. I recommend this business to anyone looking for a trustworthy repair shop.

BEWARE ONE OF THE WORST PLACES TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO BE REPAIRED BESIDES PINE FOREST AUTOMOTIVE!!!! IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE RATING TRUST ME I WOULDTook my car here to get serpentine belt replaced. Was told there was a leak somewhere and didn't know how long belt would last. After a couple of days battery warning light came on and lost power steering and car wouldn't start. Towed car back to Discount Auto & Brakes and John said he would have to clean because there was fluid everywhere and said he would use dye to find out where leak was. Car was towed to place Tuesday afternoon. THIS PLACE KEPT MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS!!! John told me he would call me to let me know where leak was coming from WHICH HE DIDN'T I HAD TO CALL HIM. Told me I needed a high pressure hose and he would order it. Called John on Friday August 27 and told me car would be ready by 2PM. I gave him leeway and told John I would be there by 3:30pm. As soon as got there he proceeded to tell me he didn't get the part. John told me he gerryrigged pump with duct tape and told me it was drivable and he would call me to let me know when pressure hose arrived. ONCE AGAIN JOHN NEVER CALLED ME I HAD TO CALL HIM TODAY. John told me part was in but he didn't know when it would be installed and that if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else because he promised other customers that he would have their cars repaired. JOHN IS VERY RUDE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND HAS BEEN A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH. I SHOULD HAVE NEVER GONE TO THIS PLACE FROM THE BEGINNING AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS THIS LONG. JOHN KEPT SAYING "TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT". I recently brought in my 1963 Studebaker Hawk GT. The staff was interested in my vehicle was willing to look and check out what my vehicle needed including checking spark plugs and fixed a leaky hose and didn't charge me a dime. I had to insist that the owner John charged me something because I didn't feel right. I will be taking my vehicle back and I have already recommended a friends to take their. Very honest people and reasonable. And very courteous.

Honest, hard working business that does things the right way, the first time. Prices are really reasonable and the respect you get is top notch. I have used this business for service on a number of different vehicles with different mechanical issues, everytime, the problem was fixed within a very short time and was fixed right, the cost was much lower than expected and much lower than other places wanted to charge that I had inquired about. I highly recommend John Denman and his staff at Discount Mufflers and Brakes. You will definitely be satisfied!!! 5 of 5 stars!!!

The man an woman working here which I think our the owners, are extremely kind. I'm from south Carolina and was here to visit my daughter who's in the Airforce . My car had issues an he ordered the parts had them in the next morning an my car done by 2pm. I'm so grateful.

I was buying a car from my sister that needed some repairs. She was told it was one thing, John said he would check it out first before doing any repairs and found out it was something different. Prices were reasonable and better than other places I had called. I had to take it back because I kept hearing a noise but they couldn't hear it. John drove with me so we could try to pinpoint it. Long story short, it was coming from the transmission. He gave me some options and repair estimate but straight out said he wasn't a transmission shop and someone else may do a better job. Great guy.

At first I was a little skeptical as is whenever going to a new shop in a new city, usually its balancing the price with quality of work. After calling the shop asking if they had time to look at my little ford ranger I was able to get a new muffler installed in about 45 minutes. The shop manager noticed an issue with the rear driver side brake I had known was causing a small leak. I will post a review once the issue is fixed to ensure they are more than just a muffler shop.

My battery in my car died across the street at the gas station and the owner himself went out of his way to come over with a jump box and get my car over to his shop and order me a battery while dealing with everything else in his busy day. He then ordered me a battery and had it sent to his shop and installed it for me with no question. Awesome people and they do great work!

We had a 2002 Jeep that needed $600 of work. After he finished the work the vehicle kept having problems and we had to take it back. He looked at it again and dug deeper and found the vehicle was a lost cause. He gave us almost all the money back from the previous $600 work and said he could reuse the parts. This has got to be one of the most honest mechanics i have ever encountered! Most shops would have kept all the money. Great guy and shop owner 5 stars all the way wish I could give more stars!

I dropped off my SC430 with John early In the morning. He called me back early afternoon with a complete estimate for the catyltic converter work along with some super recommendations for other needed maintenance. It was extremely reasonable for the amount of work and parts and it was all completed by the next day. The car has never run better than it does now. I am extremely pleased with Discount Mufflers and Brakes. I will be using them in the future for both of my vehicles.

They were rude, dishonest. We had a schedule set the prior day to meet at 8 am and get it in. I got there at 730 and waited till 8 am only to be told that the guy who just walked in is going first. I told the owner we had a schedule and that I had been there since 730 and he looked me straight in the eye and said I dont care, we open at 8.... So took my money elsewhere. Sorry sobs won't take another penny from me.Service: Exhaust

The only place to take your car for brakes and auto repair. My family has been using them for years. A+ rated with the Better Business Bureau. That is almost impossible to find with a auto repair shop. Go see John and tell him the Fifty Dollar Eye Guy sent you!

I called them at noon on a Saturday. I had a major leak in my muffler, and almost all my hangars were broken on the exhaust. They were closing at 2:00 p.m. but got me in; and at a reasonable price.

Worst service ever with a dealer warranty has every excuse then fixing his mess up Mr. John Denman he literally asked why I didn't by a new car I bet you he never asked any of his customers that especially my car has a warranty so instead fixing the problem 1000 excuses instead of doing his job correctly

Very rude "so called" owner. I was quoted $40-60 bucks to weld the broken pipe in my car at this location from the initial guy who assisted me. I also had another guy on Navy blvd quote $100. I left my car and was told that it would cost $150. I explained that I was quoted less and the price was not honored. I called Navy Blvd location and apparently the owner went out of his way to call them to tell them not to charge me the original $100. Petty thing to do, plus I called back and the old man here (owner) was so rude and hung up on me when I was upset that he did that. Not professional at all.

Great local mechanic and very dependable. We take our cars there anytime we need something fixed.
