Ricky G s transmission is by far the best transmission shop there is , When you ve been doing the same thing for 50 years you doing something right, I would put my 99 Chevy Silverado 1500 transmission against any 1500 transmission in 2023 trucks , thank you Rick for being the man D.G.

I forgot to do this review last year so here it is. Ricky rebuilt the notorious 4L60E for me out of my 2002 Envoy after it blew itself up. The sunshell completely sheared itself off like every other 4L60E and it completely lost reverse. The rebuild shifted like brand new and was much cheaper than every other shop. Highly recommend with a fairly quick turnaround time. He'll take care of you.Service: Transmission

We had a problem with our late model car. Took it to two other shops, both providing estimates roughly $1k. I remembered we had used Ricky G s many years ago with great satisfaction so I called the shop for an estimate. The owner, Ricky, answered the phone and said to bring it in the next morning. He did the repair quickly and for a fraction of the cost the other shops quoted us. The car is running perfectly now and has for over a month! Ricky G s is where we ll be going from now on!!

I ve been a Friend and a Customer of Ricky Grimes for almost 20 years now. I drive all the way from Seale, Alabama to Orlando, Florida specifically to have Ricky G take care of a My problems because I knew he does things the right way and I Absolutely trust his Word and his Work. I have 4 vehicles total, So they have plenty of things to keep up with, That s just the way things go when dealing with a small Fleet. When I need something taken care of, and need it done right, I make a point to let Ricky know I ll be heading down to see him and his Shop (Excellent Crew) to keep things going. I don t mind the Drive because He s Earned and Upheld My Trust for almost 2 decades. I don t know another Mechanic or Shop I can honestly say that about. I m too old to Play Games and Quality Work is Not an Easy find so I stick with a formula that works, That s why Ricky G and Grimes Transmission are My Guys. Ricky G is my new 'go-to' guy for transmission work. He saved me hundreds by just listening to what the problem was that I was reporting and being very thoughtful about his approach to the issue. Super down to earth and easy to talk to. Nothing can substitute for the years of experience he has and the fact that this shop has been open for so many decades is a testament to the fact that they must be doing something right. Highly recommend even if it's just to get a second opinion.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

This place may not look like much but these guys are GOOD! Not only did they fix my truck but they were extremely reasonable. I totally trust them. I thought it was my transmission but it was something much cheaper. These are my go to guys for anything automotive. They did not talk at me (I'm a woman). They did not talk down to me. They fixed my issue. Truck runs awesome.

Ricky G is the best mechanic in Orlando hands down. He has fixed problems that i needed and the ones i didnt know i had. He and his team always do top notch work and i have been a customer for 10 plus years and he has yet to fail me. Thanks Rick!! And you know i will be back!

Ricky G. is the best shop in orlando period!!!! They did an awesome job and kept in touch with me the entire time he had my car. Nice people and they go over and above to make sure your car is right. I will never take my car anywhere else.

Does not know how to work on a transmissions at all. First he said it was the motor mounts, 3 miles down had to be towed back for the same transmission issue, overall the car was taken a total of 5 times but he keeps saying something else is wrong and wants more money. My dad that is 85 is now down 3000 from starting at 300 motor mounts and his car is still broken with the same exact issue. They are trash as far as diagnostics and repair. Also they do not honor there mistakes.Service: Transmission

Ricky Grimes is the most honest mechanic you'll ever run into. He lets you know up front about all the cost and time and if he does come across an additional problem or cost he calls you immediately. He bends over backwards to satisfy his customers. I have sent friends to him and will keep sending everone I know to him. He's the best.

Place has a lot to be desired they put up a good front but in some cases the work there isn't what it appears to be if you know what I mean! You see I worked for the guy for about 6 months and in the 6 months it looked all good I'm the beginning he seemed like a decent guy then I started seeing things like he charged a customer for a rebuilt engine... Well I guess if you call an engine from the junk yard rebuilt then it was but you see what I am saying. Then I seen him charge a girl for a rebuilt transmission again from the junk yard he cleans it up painted it and I put it in the car. Then and this is a good one a man brought a work truck to us on a rollback it wouldn't go forward or backwards we checked it out and it had the 4 wheel drive hi low shifter on the floor it had somehow been knocked into the neutral position he made me pull the transmission out clean it up and paint it and put it back in and charged the man for a complete rebuild... Then there was the final straw he worked on this man's ford f 550 fifth wheel truck well he sent the transmission out to get it done we get it back and the guy comes to get it and it was making a noise so he left it and we pulled it out again and sent it back to Sandford get it back same noise had to take the truck to Sandford to the man who was rebuilding it. Well the customer was getting understandably upset and Ricky tells him if the truck is not finished by Wednesday he will rent him a truck so he can work. Long story short Ricky found out there was a rather large deposit for a truck like that and quit talking to the man and had me deal with him and when the truck came back and was still making the same noise I was supposed to collect the money for the job well I went with the man for a test drive and when he got back he refused to get out of the truck or give me the keys and wound up driving off without paying and while Ricky himself didn't have the guts to deal with the man and had me try to get money from him he did however have the guts to blame me for the loss of money so in short for all of you people who think Ricky is an honest and decent guy you have been fooled just like I was. So now you know how Ricky G does busniess. Not exactly on the up and up!i

It's very rare to run into good people with the way that this world today but I have to say I know a group of genuine men that are dedicated to their job and care about the results they provide. I have to give a major shout out to the men at Ricky G's. These men truly had me crying because I had no idea what i was going to do when I had my car of only a year and a half towed to them and then my warrenty company says they are not covering anything even though in the warranty it says they will. Ricky himself assured me that it was going to get taken care of no matter what and he did just that. These men at Ricky G's go above and beyond and now I have my car back and I am so elated! If anyone has ever been with transportation before and has had to rely on friends for everything with a house full of children and a husband that works hard will know what I mean. Without Elisebosslady Ross, Luz Oquendo, Melvina Davis husband Rodney for referring me in the first place, Temperance Taylor, and Israel Taylor also most of all Rick Grimes at Ricky G's Transmission Repair ! Never would have made it through and so greatful for word of mouth and good business!

Terrible. Brought my car in on a Wednesday and they told me it was a camshaft sensor. My car set there until Monday, without them telling me anything at all. Not answering the phone or anything. Then I call Monday and finally get someone and they didn t even touch it yet. Terrible business. I would never ever return here or refer anybody to these clowns.

I also paid in full and it s been back to them 3 times. They leave oil everywhere on the car inside. Really unprofessional I was referred to them by a friend. Wish I wouldn t. If I was going to pay full price for a transmission I should ve went to the dealership. Very upsetting.

Let me start off by saying If I could give him a zero rating I would. My daughter took her car only because she was referred to him by the shop down the street. When she went to pick up the car he told her that It was her sensor not her transmission OH but he discovered this AFTER he replaced the transmission, Still up until today her car still slips meaning her transmission was NEVER fixed If you work had for your MONEY & want your car FIXED right PLEASE & REPEAT PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worstshop to get your transmission fixed, all they do is take your money and don't do the job right, Rick and his coworkers stole my money. I had to go purchase another van because they didn't fix my transmission the right way.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

They rip you off! They honestly should just shut down and close business. They collect your hard working $ and dont do the job. When they say "rebuilt" its not!!!! They rob you cold!! NEVER GO THERE EVER!!!!!!! UNLESS U WANT THEM TO ROB YOU!!!! If i could give a negitive 5 stars i would!!!!

Ricky does not stand behind his word or warranty, I spent 2500 on a transmission that is still broke and he will not return calls or stand behind his repairs.

we traveled to Orlando and the transmission began to have problems, we found this shop and the owner gave as a good recommendation to repair the car at home and whta was the real problem and he didn't charge for a diagnostic

He took me all the way to summterville to my job after dropping off my truck at the shop. That saved me a 45 min uber ride
