This place is amazing! Get the package deal. You don't need to buy ahead you can purchase tickets there at the gift shop..which has lots of nice things. Tour the castle or the collector car versions. Worth your time and then afterwards have a great meal. Reasonable prices and home cooked. You can eat lunch or dinner followed by dessert! Family owned and ran. Great people tooDon't miss out!!! Open Jan-June closed on Mondays otherwise open 10a-4p T-Sun. unless you have dinner after they don't rush you. Very nice and friendly about it. Great people! Photos aren't allowed inside the castle or in the car collection area but everywhere else is game. You won't regret!!

Amazing artwork! The "corny" humor some have commented on are exactly what the artist scripted for the guides to say about his art. It was endearing, like your dad's jokes... punny for sure. We went with friends who had been before and wanted to go again. There is a lot to see. Nice area to walk around outside. You can take all the pictures you want-- outside only. The Caf is pretty good. We did go see the classic cars on the Encore tour. Very nice vintage Fords 1930s and older in great shape and some other makes. Highly recommend both tours!!

The castle has very interesting architecture, the materials are mostly from recycled items. The most unique aspect are the 100's of amazing metal sculptures and wood block paintings made by Mr Solomon. He was a genius. There is also an extensive collection of pre1935 vintage autos kept in 2 separate buildings. He built a large wooden boat which holds a restaurant where visitors can eat lunch. Additionally there is a very nice outdoor patio where you can also eat lunch in nice weather. The food is very good and reasonably priced.

One of the most surprisingly awesome places to spend a few hours. In the middle of nowhere but worth the 1.5 hour drive from Tampa. The 45 castle tour is awesome. Howard Solomon was a legend, albeit gotta imagine a lot for most people. Hell of an artist. Boat restaurant on the property serves a great lunch. Gift shop is a bit weak, wish they had some reproductions of his art for sale. Overall tho can't recommend this place more for a random visit. A+++++

CASH ONLY. Staff was not very friendly, plus everything is overpriced, you d think you d get more for your money. There is a lot of cool art to see including the massive aluminum castle in the middle of the property.

Solomon's Castle was a unique and cool experience. Solomon's metal art showcased in the castle was impressive, and the creativity extended to a fascinating ship restaurant. The addition of a gift shop and a lighthouse added to the charm. However, the $35 price tag for a single tour seemed a bit steep, especially considering the remote location. We opted out of the tour due to the cost, but the overall atmosphere and Solomon's artistic touch made it a memorable visit nonetheless.

Saw a show on TV about Soloman's Castle and knew we wanted to see it. What a great day. It's about 1 hour and 45 minutes away from Tampa in rural central Florida. It's quite unbelievable, a huge "Castle" covered in used metal print plates and totally filled with amazing handmade figures and art all done by Howard Solomon. The tour is fun and highlights the strange tools, parts and other oddities used. He also collected beautiful vintage cars all built 1935 or earlier.

This place was such a hidden gem! The family that owns it is a great family. Their heart is in it. Listen closely to the tour. I visisited with my two children 10 & 12 and they got many of the well written puns that flow with the art work- if I say more, I'll spoil it! The grounds are well kept, and beautiful for pictures. The boat on a moat/ pirate ship restaurant was homey, clean, and old Florida. The food was great, southern style. We loved the ice cream desserts, we had after the tour. . Angie was our server and she was the kindest, the other waitress was super kind too, the service was great. All clean! It was touching to get to talk to the staff and owners. One of my favorites was right before they end the tour you'll see a beautiful dining room with a door to nowhere. I highly recommended this place for a family, friends or date night. Go before July ends!

This is a fun place to visit. The Google page states erroneously that the artist himself gives tours. He passed away a few years ago. The tours are still supposed to be words written by him with great humor. However, some of the tour guides don't quite know how to deliver a joke. I highly recommend this tour. We also had lunch on the boat in the moat. It was decent. My only complaint is that when you buy your ticket (cash or check only), they give you a token. Then people go wait outside for the next tour guide. Suddenly, others have butted in and there is no way to let the tour guide know you were first in line with your group. Perhaps their tokens could be numbered. They don't allow photos to be taken on the inside. The questions below ask if I would recommend buying tickets in advance. That opportunity is not available as they take cash or checks only.

We had a wonderful time here exploring the castle and all the extras. We went on both tours and it was fabulous. Love the old car one the best.. Both of our guides were pleasant and very knowledgeable. We ate lunch in the lighthouse and it was delicious. The portion sizes are quite generous so consider sharing one so you can enjoy a delicious dessert as well. I can't wait to go back.lots of cool art very talented and creative. Very cool story behind this castle or is family owned and ran.

Well worth the the tour of this off-the-beaten-path individually built castle and home. Howard was an amazing artist and craftsman. Our tour guide was great and the restaurant and its staff were amazing.

Wonderful trip to seeing a magical place. An artist with Russian roots who build the Castel from the recycling material. Museum includes pieces of art and Iarge car collection. The excursion was very informative. PS. Prepare cash. Bank card not working on property.

Castle & castle tour guide (sadly don t remember her name but she had short beautiful jet black hair w/bangs) were AMAZHHHHING. Mr. Solomon was SO creative. Her presentation of the script was just awesome. Hubby & the kids loved it too! PS the castle IS air conditioned. His art and the castle were worth the 1.5 hour drive. Only CONS are the bathroom I choose to use as it had pee all over the floor & the trash can and bottom of the toilet was moldy but the soap options were lovely and smelled great. They ONLY accept cash on site and at a steep $104 admission price tag for a family of 4 that wiped my wallet out. Also: please note, half of the tour (inside the house) is not wheelchair accessible. (Photo & video is prohibited inside the castle so no pics, sorry). Last CON was our restaurant experience at the Boat in the Moat but I m reviewing that separately.

The castle is a very unique place. It is cool to see all the creations of Solomon including the castle he built and the boat in the moat restaurant. It is a bit pricey to walk through but you are allowed on the grounds and can eat at the restaurant without an admission charge. It is a good place for kids as well, if they like sculptures and creations out of recycled material. You can not take pictures inside the castle.
