I would give David Hoar 10 stars if I could. He was so accommodating. The seller had to change the appointment time and David was great about that. He took so many pictures in every nook and cranny. His inspection lasted for hours and hours without lunch. You will not be sorry if you hire him. He is worth every penny and much more.

I hired David Hoar to inspect a used motorhome that I had under contract to buy pending inspection from an RV dealer in the Florida panhandle, over 1,000 miles from my home. David produced a lengthy and timely report with extensive photographs. He highlighted issues he believed warranted my special consideration.Any RV owner expects a need to make occasional repairs. Scratches, stains, and other blemishes are a matter of personal tolerance and describable with photographs. But chronic issues that can be expensive to repair, such as fluid leaks, slide-out malfunctions, or water damage, require time and expertise to detect and explain.David had a schedule opening and reacted quickly. Within a few days, I got a private, web-based link to a detailed and well-organized report with a large number of photographs. It highlighted what David believed to be the most significant issues to consider. He did not conclude whether I should or should not buy the motorhome. It was valuable both to be able to access this large report instantly without printing cost or shipping delay, and to be able to send an email link immediately to my friend who has technical expertise and ownership experience a motorhome made by the same manufacturer. When I told my friend what I had agreed to pay David for the report, my friend s initial response was to tell me that I was probably paying too much, so he offered to go evaluate it himself if I bought him a plane ticket. However, when he saw the report, he said that he was blown away by how thorough it was. He told me that not only had I got my money s worth from David s inspection, but that the report was so thorough that he almost felt as if he were seeing it himself. It gave him what he needed to feel comfortable to encourage me to complete the purchase, conditional on repair of only a couple of the issues that David had reported, noting that the other issues did not really need to be obstacles and could be easily fixed later.Importantly, David behaved in a manner that the dealer welcomed and accommodated his inspection. When his inspection detected a fluid leak early in the process, he called me to make sure he should continue, and he also told the dealer. The dealer asked him not to tell me about it, which gave me some insight into both how comfortable the dealer s personnel felt with David, as well as how important it was not to trust or rely on the dealer s representations. David s report helped me to highlight three issues and require the dealer to service them as a condition of sale. The dealer could see that I was not a nitpicker because I brought to the dealer s attention another handful of other issues that David had reported but that I was willing to overlook and accept as-is.David did not test-drive the coach. Since I was 1,000 miles from the dealer, I was buying the RV as-is without any warranty. Most warranties on used RVs are marketing tools to help a dealer to overcome a potential buyer s fear of the unknown, but they offer little value to the buyer since they permit temporary repair and offer neither penalty nor incentive for promptness. Fortunately, after a 1,000-mile drive home, an experienced RV coach-repair mechanic, a diesel and chassis mechanic, a required state inspection, and my friend all agreed that the RV was up in particularly good condition, although it needed one new chassis battery. In summary, David Hoar s report and willingness to answer a few follow-up questions was what I needed. He exceeded my expectations. I hope that this review conveys my appreciation for his service and the enthusiasm with which I recommend his service. In case you are wondering, I have no other personal or business relationship with David Hoar or NRVIA; and have received no compensation for this review.
