I own a jeep wrangler, these vehicles are very stubborn! I've taken her there twice; so far so good! The whole crew is so so friendly and very honest! I truly recommend these mechanics for all of your needs!

James is very helpful and will try and give you a fair price while not cutting corners on his work. Just had my transmission rebuilt and so far so good. Would recommend!

James was great. Got my car in same day and had it finished in a few hours. I dropped off to him with a list of things the Hyundai dealership recommended. Instead of just doing the services and charging me, which I would have agreed to, he figured out I only need one or 2 things and did that. Saved me around 650 dollars!

Trustworthy, honest and they keep their pricing Fair. They take the time to listen and I definitely noticed they take pride in what they do. I'm one happy customer. They're the only mechanic shop that I will bring my Saturn Vue to.

This is a great place to get your car fixed.they work with you and they care.and there honest. They're the most honest mechanics in St Petersburg I have been ripped off by so many crooked mechanics in St.pete it's ridiculous. The word family in their name is true.i will use these guys for now on and I will let everyone know,how good they are.

They did a good job on my 2015 dodge ram told em the shift solenoid went out they called me a week later to confirm had to wait a month for the new trans but they swapped it quick n put me back on the road for a good price couldn't be anymore satisfied with the shops work.

We just want to give a huge shoutout to James Family Transmission. We are not from the area and needed help with our Honda Pilot. We took it over, explained the problem and scheduled an appointment. He was very thorough and honest. He checked our transmission and found no issues and recommended a flush. It worked and he was reasonably priced and kept us up to date on what needed to be done. Thank you James and crew! Can t say enough good about them. They deserve 10 stars!Service: Transmission

I recently had my car there to get the ac refreshed and to check out a noise in the front end. Unfortunately, the ac problem was a relay, but they got it fixed. The front end just had "something rubbing". They could have lied and said it was a ball joint or something, but they didn't. They've been great with me! Reasonable prices and honest work are hard to find. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone!Services: Tire rotations, Air conditioning, Oil change

Absolutely fantastic service. Gave me impartial advice along with fast, quality service that saved my car. These guys ARE THE BEST! Fast AND HONEST! Best price in the whole state of Florida! We've had 2 vehicles there for SERIOUS repairs. An engine swap and a transmission swap. Transmission is still running and great 3 years later and the engine swap was done in 5 days at an UNBEATABLE price! Great communication! We won't go anywhere else for anything ever again. These guys are awesome! Super knowledgeable and very helpful! I got told I needed a new transmission and clutch by a shop with no detail and was quoted 4300$. Came to james for a second opinion and he was able to save my transmission by replacing the bearings and clutch and saved me 2k! James Family Transmission is the only place that ever gets our service and repair needs. They are very good with diagnosing any problem we have ever had and some have been very tricky to find but they always come through with an answer. Their prices are very reasonable and they get the job done in a quickly. Highly recommend them.

I brought my car here about a year ago to get it diagnosed. Let me just say aaron is cool james is cool to, dont wanna speak bad on these guys. However supposedly they replaced my water pump, which comes to find out a few short weeks later my car was having overheat issues and my coolant would not stay in my vehicle. In one week i went through 2 bottles of coolant. Now if a water pump is replaced ( brand new) it shouldnt be messed up already within a short amount of time. So took my car to another mechanic right off the back he said you have a very bad water pump. Mind you this is that same water pump that james mechanic supposedly replaced. This new mechanic put a brand new water pump on and my car hadnt had any issues since, brand new and reciept was given to me from autoshop showing me it was bought brand new! So that being said i was hesitant on writing this review but also thought i should let it be known i didnt appreciate being lied to about a replacement that never took place, yet my money was spent. Kinda seems like you guys patch up stuff and claim its all good to go, because When i called james about my car overheating again shortly after he supposedly repaired it , he told me oh it might be a new issue occured. I think the issue was something he never solved right in the first place, maybe just a quick fix or seal and go. So i decided not to take my car back to him after it had literally just been like a few weeks before he had my car. Any issues he should have seen it then with the amount of hours he had to look at my car. All in all just be more honest guys money is to delicate these days.

They were very friendly and very fair pricing and didn't tell me I needed things that I didn't need. They helped me by trying to fix the smaller things instead of trying to take more money by saying it was a bigger issue. Very honest. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be going back when I have car troubles.

What a great shop. Honest, Reliable,and stands behind his work with pride and integrity, I have taken my truck there once with great experience, but have an older buddy who only uses James Family Transmission for all his mechanic needs and always a final outcome that is affordable, timely and truly not so painful for what it is. Several others and I recommend James Family Transmission. An Honest affordable Mechanic

INITIAL REVIEW (MARCH 2021): The transmission in my 2005 Avalanche went out in February. I took it to James and they had it fixed in a little over a week. Since then I ve put 10,000 or so miles on the truck and the transmission is still shifting fine. I ve had no issues since they took care of my truck and I am very happy with the service I received from them. Thank you for the great work!UPDATE (SEPTEMBER 2022): Over a year and 20k miles later, the transmission still shifts smoothly as it should and I am continuing to drive my truck! Drove it from Tampa to the Keyes, to Texas, to Washington State, and all around the country. Would continue to highly recommend this shop.Service: Transmission
