Tim and the crew at AAMCO are top notch and deserve multiple 5 star ratings from me. I initially went there when my truck was facing transmission issues. They rebuilt my transmission saving me thousands compared to what the dealer quoted. I took my truck there 4-5 or more times for check engine lights and brakes issue. Every fix was very inexpensive and a few times Tim even fixed it for free. This is the most legit shop I have ever taken a vehicle to. I would recommend them to anyone, my mother and my grandmother.

I was in FL for vacation from SC and had a transmission light come on during the trip down. Tim at Aamco was very helpful and gave me honest feedback. He didn't automatically say I needed a rebuilt transmission. In our conversation he initially thought I could possibly make it back, but as we talked further and discovered a more specific reason, he advised to get it rebuilt. He got me in over a holiday time and finished when he said he would. Was very happy with my service there.

Tim and Alex were extremely great. I went in for an unknown transmission issue and within an hour of dropping it off they called back with a solution. They were very kind and understanding and even gave a few tips on how to keep the problem from happening again. If I ever need any future repairs done they will be the only mechanics I d call!

Tim personally took my call, spoke with my tow truck driver, and got me on my way in the same day! Honest work, clean shop. I would recommend 10/10 Bring your car in and talk to Tim!

It's hard to trust people these days to be honest and not over charge you on car repairs.If your needing an honest transmission repair shop, I recommend you go to aamco on Racetrack Rd. Talk to Tim. He was very professional and treated me with respect.

Going to mechanics is always stressful but this was a great experience. I went in for what I thought was a transmission problem but after a free diagnostic it turned out to be an easier fix. The people at Aamco were professional and friendly and listened to everything I had to say. If you are a woman or don't know much about cars I highly recommend Aamco in FWB, they will not take advantage of you or rip you off. Also the bathroom was really clean. Highly recommend.

Trust Tim, trust this mechanic shop. My vehicle was in bad shape and I was very stressed not knowing how I d get to work with me being a military member. The care provided on my vehicle was outstanding, done correctly but quickly as the process takes. I had a professional and comfortable experience here and I am very thankful that my vehicle is better than ever. I recommend this shop, get a diagnostic, don t stress know your vehicle is in good hands.

These guys are insanely chill and knowledgeable, spent more than 20 minutes just talking about project cars, fixing cars isn t a job but a passion for these guys. Tim slotted me in last second because I couldn t figure out the issue I was having after a lot of troubleshooting, but they figured it out after five seconds of looking for free.

I highly recommend AAMCO Fort Walton Beach. The staff was friendly and patient w me as I explained the issues I was having with my manual transmission. I was ready to pay for anything that was needed. They ended up telling me I did not need additional service. Had my vehicle in and out in less than 2 days. Very honest people!

My FJ Cruiser was having serious problems and after talking with Tim I decided to drop it off for a transmission rebuild. After taking it apart they determined it didn't need a full rebuild, just needed new solenoids. They had it done the next day. Tim is awesome to work with and will tell you exactly how it is. Tim was amazing to work with. He took a look at the car and performed a free diagnostic. It turned out that someone else who had worked on the car had made a silly mistake. Tim and his guys fixed it for free, saving us some peace of mind and fixing the simple problem. He was easy to talk to, down to earth, and just a cool dude. Would totally recommend to anyone in this area.

I've never experienced this level of customer service before and I'm extremely grateful for their help. I highly recommend this auto repair shop to anyone in need of car repairs or maintenance.Thank you so much Tim and everyone at AAMCO.What are the chances of someone breaking down in front of an auto repair shop? Better than I thought! My car (and I) broke down in front of AAMCO last week on my way to work and I am SO blessed that it happened there. I was on day #26 of having "one of those days" when my car putted into their hands. Tim, greeted me and offered his help - not just business/service help, but that real old school, community style help that I remembered from when I was younger. He was kind, uplifting and reassuring. The mechanic there had been working on Toyotas for over 40 years (I have a Toyota) and so I left my car with them feeling confident and peaceful. And justifiably so...not only did they go above and beyond helping me with my car, they lifted my spirits with their kindness and genuine care. That team was knowledgeable and efficient, and they did an amazing job on my 4Runner. I've never experienced this level of customer service before and I'm extremely grateful for their help. Very genuine, personable staff, Tim and his crew were so helpful. I went in yesterday for some air conditioning issues and they resolved it within 30 minutes and one of the guys even reprogrammed my key fob for me- all free of charge! AAMCO has been incredible for me. I recently had a transmission rebuild, clutch replacement, and everything in-between done to my 1994 jeep wrangler. About 2 months later one of the parts went bad and needed to be fixed again. With AAMCO, there is a warranty on what I had done. I had it towed to them on a Sunday night and come Monday morning they were already working on it. One of the managers came out to me and apologized that it happened to me and promised that they would take care of it with no cost to me. They are a very trustworthy business and I would recommend them to all.Service: Transmission

I have been here several times and these guys have always been absolutely incredible. They have been thorough, efficient, kind, and always seem to go above ans beyond to help me get the problem solved. I have been to several repair shops in the area and was so glad when I found these guys. Took my F-150 in for transmission leaking & hard shifting.They tightened the transmission bolts, topped it off, and drove it around the block - for free!!!Didn't even let me pay them after insisting.I am flabbergasted (In a good way), in this economy, they're willing to spend 2hrs of time on a NEW customer (I am not a repeat customer, I don't know anyone there, I was referred by my dad but they did not know that at the time).I am amazed at the service, quality, speed, care, LOVE they put into my truck/family, makes me tear up a bit.I worked with Tim, specifically, and I'm so thankful for their entire team!Service: Transmission

We were visiting family in Niceville for Christmas and thought our Nissan Kicks, which we'd just had some repairs done on before the trip, wasn't handling quite right. AAMCO looked it over for us, drove it and computer-checked everything, and reassured us there were no immediate or major issues going on. Same-day service even on a busy day just before Christmas - and no charge! We made the 500 mile drive home with peace of mind and no car trouble. I'm always a little hesitant when trying new shops considering many places will try to take advantage of customers. This was definitely not the case at here. When I brought my 370z in for some transmission problems, Tim helped me out tremendously while also taking time to explain everything going on in detail. Edit 2: transmission stopped working again barely a year laterEdit: changed this to a one star since I had to find someone who would work under their warranty and they wouldn t even cover the full cost of their own mistake.I held off on this review because they were really kind people plus my transmission ~seems~ to be fixed. However they cannot put a car back together to save their life. They put my windshield wipers down backwards causing one of them to fly off while using them, they put my dash back together crooked so it doesn t sit flush and there s a piece missing???? And now my car makes a god awful sound because something near or in the AC is loose and rattling so bad. This car is now so embarrassing to drive and it happened right before we moved halfway across the country so we can t even go back and there is no AAMCO near us.Service: Transmission

Great place to take your car. Tim got my car in the same day, did a quick diagnostic an sent me to an expert for repair. Took back in after repair and was able to diagnose tire bearing issue sound. My experience with Tim at AAMCO has been excellent. He was very courteous, helpful, and professional when our trusty Subaru transmission failed. He helped me through the decision process (rebuild, replace, etc), searched for a replacement (turns out Subaru manual transmissions are very rare), and fit the job into his busiest season. His estimates were accurate, with no surprises, and he even did some additional work while the drive train was pulled out. I came in with worries about my transmission. Tim was very professional and very helpful. He ran multiple diagnostics until he found the issue. When a problem was found they could've done the work and charged me, but my vehicle had an active recall. I am grateful for their integrity. My car was recently repaired by another mechanic who did a great job, but didn t specialize in clutch replacement. Called up Aamco and not only did they give my vehicle a clean bill health for another 20-30k miles, they did the diagnostic for free! This was my first time using their service but I ll be back. I have a very complicated transmission that only a specialized place like AAMCO could look at. I was very honest with my situation. I had come in from out of town and was on vacation for a week. Our family needed the certainty of knowing that our vehicle was safe to head back home. They were also very knowledgeable of the warranty we had on our car and gave me the peace of mind that they could take care of us both technically and through the warranty process should we have a major issue on our hands. In our spot, they could've taken advantage of us; instead, they were very professional and honest. They did a comprehensive check and reset the computer part of the transmission (I am not mechanically knowledgeable of how this works on my transmission). They said everything was good and didn't even charge us to diagnose it and confirm it was safe. I am grateful for companies like these where professional, knowledgeable and honest people are found!Service: Transmission

Had a good discussion with very personable man at the front desk well the mechanic diagnosed my vehicle. Came back with a cleaned throttle body and checked my codes for free and sent me on my way with a couple suggestions. I also noticed them help out an older veteran before me.
