Jeff is fantastic. Easily the most efficient, most affordable, and highest quality mechanic I've ever dealt with. He's been my primary mechanic on my last two trucks. He's done AC, front end work, water pump, power steering, radiator, etc. I've never had any problems after leaving the shop. Work is always top notch. Won't bring my vehicles to anyone else. Highly recommend.

Don't use Hopkins!! I had Hopkins Auto Repair fix the air conditioning in my Pontiac Vibe. John Hopkins, the owner, originally estimated the cost at $800, but said he would take a look at it and get back to me. Later that day he said it just needed a couple components, which would cost a total of $200 to $300, parts and labor, and would be done in a day. At the end of the next day, he said that those parts didn't fix the issue and he found something else wrong, I would get the car back the next day. Again the next day, he said it still wasn't blowing cold and needed to do more work on it. This went on for two weeks. I asked him several times how much it would cost and he said he hadn't figured it up yet. Towards the end, after supposedly bringing the vehicle to two "expert" mechanic friends, who he claims also didn't know why it wasn't working right, John said he spoke with a manufacturer's rep who told him that this issue was caused by a faulty a/c compressor. He replaced that and said that now it was done and working. The final bill - $1,800.00!!! So he charged me for all the parts and labor for the shot-in-the-dark work that he did to try to fix it, not just for the replacement of the compressor which is what actually fixed it. His excuse was that these other components would have failed within six months anyway, which would then cost more to repair as there would be more labor to take it apart again. But he should have charged me only for the work that actually fixed it, not the parts and labor for replacing parts that might or might not fail in the future. On top of that, it still doesn't blow cold properly, especially when idling. I took it back to him twice for this. The first time, he said it was just a little low on freon, which he added. The second time he said that there is also a broken condensor fan, which he wants another $350 to replace. This mechanic and his crew don't know what they are doing, and he is quite happy to charge you to take shots in the dark to fix your car.Service: Air conditioning
