I just bought a Gravely Zero radius mower from Greg at A1 last week. They provided old fashioned customer service. I was treated like family from the moment I walked in. I bought a quality mower at a fair price. Thank you Greg.

Their employees are fair courteous patient and friendly. Their prices despite this increasingly financially difficult time are still wonderful. They even take the time to explain things to a woman without sounding condescending. Two thumbs up guys

Terrific service for small engine repair. Very pleased. My Craftsman weed eater pull string mechanism failed. Orig estimate at drop-off was $100. Tech advised upon inspection 10-days after drop-off that parts were needed but there was back-log. No problem I have backup weed eaters. New estimate $70. Called day before yesterday that it was ready for pick-up. Cost $54. This is obviously honest, ethical local small business. Definitely will return.

Amazing customer service. Known these guys for years and their A 1 business name reflects their service. Very knowledgeable about their products, and they take the time to find out a customer's needs to help them purchase a product that suits them. Great folks.

These guys and gals are terrific. They helped me with repairing my riding lawn mower and my mom's self propelled push mower. Didn't treat me like I was bothering them but help educate me in what I was trying to do. I greatly appreciate all the help seeing as I'm not a mechanic.

Good stop there today. Good service from the counter on parts and got some chains sharpened. The place is neat and clean and the parking is good. Lots of good inventory and the fellow who helped me today was very knowledgeable.

How a company treats its customers has always been an accurate measure of its character. I considered customer service as the number one factor when evaluating a company.I brought my mower in at the end of February because it wouldn t start. I tinkered with it at home and was getting incredibly frustrated, so I decided to take it into the shop. I asked the service rep to keep me informed of the progress. They took my information, and all seemed well.A few days later I decide to stop in at the shop and see how my mower was doing. I was told that we were waiting on the starter. I asked about how much do you think the starter is going to cost. The rep told me It looks like around $230. I said that would ve been nice to know that you were going to change the starter. He said they don t usually do that because that would be considered a diagnostic fee, which would be an additional $75.I m OK with being charge a diagnostic fee. I dropped it off not knowing what was wrong with it. You took that choice away from me. $230 plus $75 per hour for repairs or A $75 diagnostic fee and I decide to come back later to take care of it. I would ve appreciated the chance to decide on my own.Well since I needed my mower fixed I just let it go.About a week later we are still waiting on the starter.3 to 4 days after that, the starter has been put on but they are still having some other issues. That brings us up-to-date. The rep told me he would call me when it s ready. Me being a little disgusted at this point made a quip about making sure they had my phone number because I haven t heard a phone call from them yet. Another rep came around the corner and quickly pointed out that they haven t had any progress on the mower and they would let me know when it was available.I don t know about you but when a company decides to order a part that is not just a few bucks, that seems like progress to me. That seems like they ve made a decision. They ve made a decision to charge my account, and at this point there s nothing that I can say, oh I m sorry I don t want you to do this work because it is too expensive. Imagine taking your car to the auto repair shop; you call a week later and they say, yeah that ll be $5641.11. I brought it in for a tune-up, why is it so damn much money? Oh, we needed to change your engine.I realize the above example is extreme. However, a little communication goes a long way. The point I m trying to make is that every single time I got any updates about my mower in your shop it has been because I drove in or I called in.You had my number, progress has been made, and charges have been assessed to my account. It s easy to do whatever you want to when you re the only Scag repair shop within 45 miles.I absolutely don t agree with the way they run their shop.BTW, my mower is still there.[Update 14MAR19]Revived a call today. Hello, Mr. Porter? Yes. This is Greg, at A-1. Your mower is done. ClickI had to call back to get the amount due.$411 later, I can get my mower today.Never again!

Place is a joke. Walked in today to buy a brand new stihl chainsaw. Couldn't get any help. Had a 300$ stihl chainsaw sitting on the counter and sat there watching the people behind the counter play on there cell phone for 5 mins. Wouldn't recommend anyone to go here.

I took my Homelite pressure washer there for repairs. The clerk told me that I needed a pressure relief valve and that the only way to repair it would be to get an entire pump assembly. The cost would be close to the purchase price of a new model. I went to the Homelite site and found that it was actually the soap valve and not the pressure relief valve. I paid 3.99 for the part and had it in 3 days. I guess that is the problem when you mix sales and service. They will tell you anything to get you to buy a new machine

I have been in Business since 1997 in the Pensacola area, in the past we had toro, echo, ferris and shindaiwa equipment, so we did not freecuent A-1 small engine very often. About ten years ago we switched to stihl hand held equipment and later on to exmark mowers now we depend on them for all of our equipment purchase and repairs, Seville Law And Power Equipment used to do a very decent job, (very high prices" on their labor for the area, but the business was sold and everything went south thereafter. So many of us who use exmark, scag and stihl equipment have no choice but to come to this place it must be nice for them to be in a position like this! We have had for the most part good experiences with their customer svc, however, there have been several times that our equipment has sat there for a very, very long time and if we don't call to inquire about the status of the equipment they don't communicate. Two weeks ago I dropped off one of my commercial mowers with hydro issues "oil leak" they told me that I need a new wheel motor and hydro pump at the tune of $3000.00 or somewhere around that#, I told them that I needed to think about it and that I would pick up the mower instead for the meantime, my mower is closed to 5 years old, when I went to pick it up today they charged me $87.44 just for removing the tire and wheel "four lug nuts" at most, I don't even know if they did that, it was very disappointing, I do not mind paying for services when the services are provided, in the meantime there's no other dealers in our area to go to, there are years when I sped $10.000 to $15.000 at this place and to be treated this way is disappointing, I hope that exmark/scag/stihl are reading this reviews! And by the way, I priced the transaxle unit at other places at $1,600.00- $1,850.00 that's almost $1,000.00 difference, do they just pull #'s out of the air?.
