Steve s is fantastic!! For a small cost, he picked the 2 lawnmowers and snowblower up from my house. Tuned them up and now they are as good as new. They roll better, run better, perform better. We should have been doing this more regularly. Reasonable prices. Quick turn around.

Terrible place to perform any service. Requested to fix my relatively new Toro snowblower for belt issue as it got snapped. Tried to replace it myself same issue happened.again so specifically asked Steve to check and fix , based on all the great reviews, guess what he just put the new belt and told.me it's fixed. When the ran the machine with no load to warm up to clean the 6" snow the paddle stopped working in min as the brand new belt got snapped again as Steve didn't care to fix the actual problem. Ended up manually shovelling snow for 4 hrs as Steve never bothered to respond. Worst place and don't fall prey for cool website as service quality sucks.

Steve s Small Engine Repair is great! I have an older snow blower and he did a thorough and wonderful job tuning it up. I just was so impressed with his work I had him do the same with my lawn tractor. Again another fine job. His work is great price is reasonable too. You won t go wrong with Steve. Highly recommend him.

My John Deere 105 was overheating. I called Steve yesterday and he picked up the tractor and in less than 24 hours called me to tell me the tractor was fixed. The plastic air fins on the intake had broken into 2 large pieces and fallen into the engine and the engine couldn't cool itself without the air fins.Steve said this was unusual, he had never seen this happen before. I asked him to give it a complete tuneup while he had it and the tractor is running great again. His prices are reasonable and his quick service is much appreciated.

I used Steve's services about 3 years ago, but never posted a review. I am doing so now, as I have just referred a second friend to Steve. Rope pull broke on my snowblower. Steve came right out, either the same day, or the following day. It was a quick fix for him and he also made sure everything was lubed and shear pins we okay. I think he may have even left me a couple extra pins. His price was reasonable and service great! A year ago, I recommended Steve to a co-worker who was stated that he was quite pleased with Steve's services. Today, my neighbor asked if I knew someone who could repair her snowblower. Her lawnmower had been in another repair shop for 2 months. I referred her to Steve. So, it's pretty safe to say, if you ask me, I'll say "call Steve!"

I was super impressed right from the start. Steve's website is very well designed and contains detailed and useful information. On the phone Steve was courteous and professional and knew exactly what the issue was that I described wrong with my tractor. I called Steve on a Friday mid morning and he picked up my tractor 2 hours later! Then he surprised me and returned it on Monday afternoon! Steve is awesome, trustworthy and very skilled. He is the nicest and most honest repairman I have ever encountered. I will recommend him highly and wish I had found him sooner!

I pulled my snowblower out on Wednesday because the first snow of the season is expected on Friday. I broke the start cord trying to get it running and I knew from past experience that the sudden power equipment shop in South Windsor would take weeks, if not longer before they could find the time to work on my machine..I called this place based on a recommendation I saw on Facebook. Steve said he d try to get it done before the snow on Friday. I was skeptical, but today s Thursday and I have my machine back in my garage the night before the storm gets here!I brought this guy a dirty, broken, Ariens snowblower that hadn't been serviced in 3 yrs. He went through the whole machine, top to bottom spark plugs, oil change, replaced the broken gas cap, cleaned the carburetor, the fuel tank, repaired the reverse gear, and tightened all the belts / cables. AND it was 10% cheaper than the place in South Windsor charges me.

I brought in an older snowblower that needed some work. I was told by another repair service that I needed a new snowblower. In desperation, I brought it to Steve. I can't be happier with the service and the quality of the work and at very fair price. Don't hesitate to bring your machine to Steve, he is awesome! He saved me thousands of dollars!!

I gave Steve s Small Engine Repair a shot based off of the positive reviews and I was happy I did. Steve came out to take a look at my tractor the next day and gave me a fair, honest assessment of the damage. It was a great experience and I ll certainly be calling for all my engine repair needs in the future.

Steve is a real professional and a life saver (or should I say...back saver). My snowblower went down in the middle of a snow storm. Sadly shortly after it had been 'repaired' elsewhere. I don't have a vehicle to transport the blower so Steve's pick up service is a must, and he was there the next day. He got the machine running like new again and delivered it back to me before the next storm. If you need a repair specialist then you will not be disappointed by hiring Steve.

Needed a snow blower (bought used) and a lawn tractor (1-2 years old) repaired, neither were in working order. Within a week, Steve picked them up, repaired them, then returned them to my house. He took the time to show me some things on the machines I didn't know before, and he talked me through each repair and all the tune-up activities (the receipts were also very detailed). Price struck me as very fair, especially given that both appear to work like new (better than new in some respects). Will definitely use Steve from here on out to maintain and fix our small engines.

I called Steve on Thursday of last week. He picked up my snowblower within a half hour of me calling and had it back to me, fixed, less than 24 hours later. Very impressed with his service. He explained everything he did, showed me parts he replaced and was just pleasant, professional and helpful.

Steve did an excellent job, from drop off to pick up! Steve was quick and resolved all the issues I had with my snowblower, and really reasonable priced, I definitely recommend to anyone who needs work done on their machine! Thanks Steve.

At the start of the season the self propelled mechanism was not working on my toro. I had just had it a local big name shop at the end of last season for 6 weeks and it was frustrating that this was broken on my first use of the season. I called the place and they apologized and said they would take care of it but it would be 6-8 more weeks. I called steve and brought the mower in that day and he had it back in just a few days. The mower runs perfectly now. Great job.Oh, and his mom does a great job managing the business end. She is truly a gem!!

Satisfaction is an understatement.Had Steve pick up a Craftsman snowblower that needed some overdue attention. I always try to go local and not with the big chain stores when I can. Came by on a Sunday and had it back in under a week good as new. Not only repaired everything perfect, but took the time to explain what was what, and how to fix and prevent any issues that may come up, new or old. As he came by to drop off the blower I was mowing the lawn and happened to mow over one of the dog's tennis balls which caused some strange noises and bumps in the mower. Steve, without hesitation said ,"Do you have a flat head screwdriver and some needle nose pliers?" He did a thorough check and tweaked it so it ran better than i can remember. Told me what to get and how to repair. No charge or anything, just cause he's a good dude. Not one to write reviews online but after dealing with Steve, it/he deserved an honest and praiseworthy review. Pricing was spot on if not better....and I was taken to school on some basic maintenance and upkeep to prevent and ensure the machines future performance.I just hope if you're reading this like i had been, that you call and see for yourself. This winter will be way easier and he's got a customer for life. Respect to that guy.

Steve repaired my snowblower. He was very responsive and reasonably priced. I am very impressed by his work and customer service. Even though I have a quality snowblower, no one could repair it. With in a week, Steve had it as good as new. The unit is 14 years old.The unit was delivered working, clean, no excuses, and with a full explanation of his work.

Only had to call Steve once so far, but I'd rate the service as top-notch. My snow blower hasn't started all season and I kept putting off having it fixed--then I heard about storm Nemo heading our way. Called Steve Thursday night and left a message; heard back Friday morning, and he was able to drive down around lunchtime and fix the problem within 20 minutes. If CL&P were that reliable, storms like this wouldn't faze anybody!

Steve repaired our push lawn mower 5-7-20. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He is competent, fast, and friendly. I called before driving there, and Claudette was very helpful. I highly recommend Steve's Small Engine repair!

I purchase my rideing mower from a vendor in town and always had it service there. I have not been happy with the service lately so I decided to try someone new. I found Steve's Small Engine Repair on line. He came and pickup the mower, did a great job on the repairs and return it to me the next day. The mower run better now than when I purchase it. I have found my repair guy for not only my lawn mower but also for my snow blower. Great service and even better gentleman.

Stop your search for small engine repair and bring your machine to Steve. Had a snowblower with a broken drive belt spring. Made the massive mistake of bringing it to Capitol Equipment where they told me I also needed to replace the carburetor in my 3 year old snowblower which would cost at least $400. Needless to say, after waiting 2 weeks for them to replace a $2.11 part to the tune of a $98 bill, I brought it to Steve for a second opinion. He started it up, and 5 seconds later he was able to confirm that replacing the carburetor was not at all necessary. Saved me hundreds in needless repairs. I was very impressed and appreciate the honesty. He will definitely have my business in the future, and I will send all my family and friends in town his way.

The only reason I went with 5 stars is because there wasn't an option to rate higher! I have never been so impressed with a repair facility in my life. Steve picked up my John Deere Friday night, returned it Monday running like new! I highly recommend Steve's Small Engine Repair to anyone in need of his services! Thank you, Steve.

It is amazing to know there are people out there that willing to lend a helping hand and not take advantage of someone. Needless to say I will never go anywhere else for engine repair. Saturday night before a big storm, I end up snapping the bolt on my snowblower carberator pan. Doomed! Not only is Steve open late on Saturday, but also has the very specific bolt in his shop. He then goes above and beyond by providing me with the new equipment to assure my other problems would be resolved tonight.

While Steve's Small Engine Repair is my all time favorite engine repair place, Steve never ceases to amaze me. The service is top notch --I've never had a bad experience. Last night I was using my snowblower and a phone book got caught up in my machine. It stopped working so I couldn't use it. I tried for about an hour to dislodge the book with no success. This morning I called Steve and while I was at work he came by the house and took care of the problem in minutes. He called me while I was at work and to my amazement he said the snowblower was all set and then I asked him how much for the service he said none this time around, my friend. This is the kind of guy Steve is. He is a very honest and hard working individual who does not bullshit around and does not bullshit people. He does this kind of work independently at his home and does a great job. He is fast, courteous, and mild mannered. You cannot ask for service like this anywhere. He also has cheap prices for repair and maintenance. You cannot get these prices anywhere else. This guy is special. His mother takes his calls sometimes and she is excellent to talk to and very courteous and funny too. Thanks Steve.... You are the best. Yours Truly, Raymond

Steve did a good job when I took my mower there couple of times. The third time my lawn tractor died and I took my mower there with a brand new 1 day old napa lawn tractor battery, they tried to cheat me with the battery and they said they replaced the battery, I said for them to return the battery, so I can return it to napa and be refunded, that's when they said, the battery on the mower must be my own battery. Since that experience I stop going there.

I had a 4 yr lawn mower that would not run at that start of the season. I found Steve online and scheduled a service. He did a top notch job on the tune up at a great price and now my lawn mower is back running like new. Steve is very professional and I would highly recommend him on any small engine repair.

It is hard to find individuals like Steve now a days. He is exceptional and knowledgeable about engine service/repair (in my case a John Deere lawn tractor) -- but more importantly he is very honest efficient and incredibly reasonable for the high quality service he provides. I *highly* recommend Steve to assist you when you need small engine service/repair for your equipment without restriction. Thank you.

Lawn tractor wouldn't start. Called Steve's on a Friday, he picked it up on Saturday and returned it Tuesday. Very nice and very reasonably priced. Will be calling him again next time I need service on the lawn tractor and snow blower.
