My Dodge Caravan started idling roughly out of nowhere three days ago. I've called all over town to find someone that could fix it before the weekend (so I don't have to cancel plans with the kids), but everyone was booked up.This morning I gave it another Google, and I saw Paul & Sons is literally the next street over from me. He's probably 300 feet from my front door. So I gave him a call.He answered immediately, and I gave him the situation then asked if he'd be able to take a look at it. He said, "Bring it over.". Five minutes later Paul was under my hood. He quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered the part to be delivered right then.After a short wait for the part (20 minutes or so), it had arrived and he got back to work. He replaced the part and immediately diagnosed a new problem.I hadn't gapped the spark plug I'd replaced the day before correctly. He fixed it within a couple of minutes, and she was purring like a kitten again.Five stars on every facet of my interaction at Paul's. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE experience from this location. First off, you drop the car there the PROPER WAY to do it is to diagnose the problem tell you how much it ll be and you (the customer) accepts or declines the charges. They went ahead and work on my car and do work that I didn t bring it there for, then charge me the expensive price. The owner is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL I had to be calling him over and over again when it s his job to keep me updated. They work on your car without you agreeing to the job. I felt like I was robbed. Had my car for 3 days, drove out the shop and it was WORST than I had brought it in. I m going to get it checked out elsewhere because at the point I don t even think he did half the work he say he did on it.GOD DON T LIKE UGLY! Beware, don t take your car here to get ripped off

I've been going to this shop for years. Paul has gotten me through some car trouble with both my cars. The best part is he diagnoses the problem super fast and so does his son. My first car had an engine issue which he took care of with no problem and I trusted my car in his hands. With my second car I went to Paul for body work and my car looked good as new with the paint job. He has also done my brakes and recommended me to someone to get tints on my car. I love this shop. I never feel like he is haggling me with pricing and I never feel uncomfortable going there which I sometimes do as a woman going to an all guy shop. He is super professional and knows his stuff. prices are pretty good too. He has a sitting area for when your doing small work and just want to wait for your car, I noticed a lot of mechanic shops don't have that. All in all, I would definitely recommend it! Paul and son is my go to shop.

Fast and professional service been a customer for the past 7 years. I ve always gotten honest an fair estimate always have time for customers. Willing to go the extra mile to make sure the job is done correctly. Never turns you away no matter how busy they are. The facility is a prime example of what to expect from a highly reviewed ASE certified Automotive Repair Facility. Would recommend to anyone .

Poor Service. The owner Paul is VERY RUDE. I called to get a rough estimate on an engine job. He gave me a price of $800-$900. He held my car for 3 weeks without calling me to update me about the car. I had to call in to check in just to find that he "can not find a head at the junkyard" or in other words my car has not been worked on. I call again just to be put on hold for 25 minutes. He then tells me he'll call me back but ends up calling me on Monday, a WHOLE three days later, to tell me that my car will be ready by FRIDAY. I call back on FRIDAY, he says "Your car will be ready, HOPEFULLY, by tomorrow" I call Saturday, no answer. Monday I call. He then he gives me a price of 1600! Honestly, the worst business experience of my life. Very unprofessional and unfair.

A definite stand-up guy; he often fixes my friends car after I look at it and advise her. Paul is very prompt and polite, and he prices his work reasonably. I m about to bring my car him (today) because the Volkswagen dealer in town has become absurdly expensive. Hopefully he works on the newer cars- he seems to specialize on older vw s.

Worst shop I've ever been to. My Clutch fan broke so i dropped my car off and explained to the owner that I wasn't in a rush to get my car back because I don't want a rush job and wanted it fixed right. I should have known that this was going to be a bad experience because he didn't even bother to take down any of my information when I dropped the car off. A week goes by and I decided to call and check on my car. Assuming that it would be done or nearly complete because no repair takes a week to fix. The owner gets on the phone to tell me that he hasn't even looked at the car yet because it needs to be pushed in the back and hes too busy to get started on it. I remain patient and ask how long it would take. He says hopefully tomorrow. I call two days later to check on the car and he gives me the same excuse. I go down there the same day to find my car in the same place I left it. And to my surprise there were cars being worked on that weren't there when I dropped mine off so clearly I've been put on the back burner. I remain calm and ask why he hasn't started yet and he say "I thought you said you weren't in a rush". How professional. The next day my car is in the garage. So fianlly I feel like my car will be fixed soon. 4 days later, on a monday, I call to check on the car and he says it'll will be done Friday. Friday I call and he says oh hopefully tomorrow. So Saturday I arrive to pick up my car and obviously he's not there and my car won't start. I call him and he says he's busy and he'll be down in a few. 1 hour goes by and I call him back and explain to him that I'm notifying the police because I've had it at this point. Of course he shows up 15 min later and begins to verbally disrespect me in front of the police as he hooks my car up to a jump box. And on top of that my car is magically leaking antifreeze now. Moral of the story stay far far away from this shop. He's rude, unprofessional, and does not care about his customers. And the sad part about this review is that he going to read it and not even offer to make things right. He will most likely leave a very short very sarcastic reply which is a direct reflection of the customer service he provides.

Paul is a thorough professional and gives honest and sincere advice about what s going on with your vehicle. He always does the perfect job promptly. He always has time for customers however busy he is, always goes the extra mile to help customers.

Halfway through a 5 hour road trip, the alternator in my girlfriend's BMW ate it. To complicate matters, it was almost 5PM. Most shops were closed, however they offered to stay open late and take us here. The shop quickly diagnosed the problem, and managed to replace the alternator in record time, allowing us to continue the trip. Fair price to boot. It also seems like everyone who works here is a true car enthusiast, if you were looking for something beyond basic maintenance/repair they would definitely be able to help you out. Big thanks to Paul & Son!

I was on the Merritt going north heading home to Shelton , at about exit 39I heard a noise as if something broke under my car , .As a lone female I felt so stranded and scared ..I searched on google and saw the reviews were good even though it said closed when I looked it up, but for some reason I decided to call.. When I called a male answered and said he was closed and just walking out the door. To make a long story short he explained to me that he thinks that I have a broken axle .He send a tow truck waited for me to reach his shop , he dropped me home and had the fixed by mid morning ...Thanks for the wonderful work you did ..Forever grateful to you guys for your professional disposition at Paul and Son Auto Repair ...Patty
