I am from Durango but was in Denver over a weekend when my BMW 135i started over heating. I had to wait until Monday morning to contact shops. Luckily I picked this shop. They had me bring it in Monday morning and had it diagnosed immediately. Needed water pump and thermostat. There was a short wait for parts during which they loaned me a car. It was all done by 1 pm. I was amazed and very grateful. I told Ed, the service manager, that they treated me like a 20-year customer. He said they treat everyone like that. I believe him. This is an outstanding shop.

Excellent knowledge of car repairs and extremely reasonable on their pricing. John and Ed and the entire team at The German Car Shop have taken care of my vehicle for over 20 years. Highly recommend them.

Been here for awhile, I let front desk guy (I think owner or manager he is oldest) tell me my aux battery need replacing and quotes me for replacement and it was $2-300 something but he didn t quote me for diagnosis so the day of the appointment I bring it in and they didn t replace my aux battery or do anything, except charge me diagnostic fee for practically doing nothing. The guys response is I saved you money ! ??????? I wanted aux battery not a diagnosis?!!!!

Our 2001 BMW 325i had a cracked radiator, which led to other issues unfortunately (like a warped head). We've had this care since it was new so decided to replace the engine. These guys did a great job finding a good used engine and installing it. Throughout the whole ordeal Ed was very friendly and helpful, and the mechanical work was first rate. I would not hesitate to recommend this shop.Service: Engine repair

This place came recommended to me; unfortunately, I had a bad experience. They improperly installed or improperly reattached a gas line resulting in my car and house smelling of gas. I brought it back to have them fix that, and they cleaned something that had been saturated in gasoline with degreaser. Now when I turn my car on the vents blow the smell of degreaser throughout my car. I brought it back for them to clean or replace the part they damaged but unfortunately the car still smells like degreaser. Im afraid that whether it airs out or not, it ll never go back to smelling fresh like it did before taking it here.

Talk about some rude people. Cameron at the front desk, says I can't hear you, your cutting out and simply hangs up on me after maybe 5-7seconds of the call beginning. If this is how they treat their customers and the type of service they provide, I want nothing to do with them. Their owner should know that this individual is killing the business at first contact.

Just had a great experience with Ed and his team. They provide routine diagnostic maintenance for my 2006 SLK 350, which admittedly doesn t get many miles under her belt. Great honest service from Ed . rather than trying to con me into this that or the other kinds of repairs a 17 y/o vehicle might need, his advice was to get my girl out on the road again and put some miles on her. I ll do that!Service: Oil change

I run a tour company here in Denver and need my cars and vans running smoothly at all times. The German Car Shoppe has been taking care of me for several years now and I had only good experiences with John and Ed. Mercedes cars are luxury vehicles and they need to be treated as such. Having reliable and trusted mechanics is very important to me and I would not continue my relationship if I had any doubts in their capabilities. Keep up the good work!

Called to make an appointment for a transmission service on 8/14 gave my information, including the vin#, specifically stated the seal on the back side of the trani pan was cracked and leaking there for I needed a trans svc, I was quoted $465.00 Appointment was made for the 16th. Car got towed in 8/16, I called the shop to confirm the tow was on the way with my Audi a4 for my scheduled appointment. Friday rolls around and I have not heard from the shop, so I called! They claimed no one knew what that car was there for, or who the owner was and they were glad I called to get it straightened out. The man I spoke to on Friday assured me the trans svc would be put on top priority. I get a call from Cameron this morning 8/21 stated they did the diagnostic today, I needed a trans svc because it s leaking on the back side of the pan and a couple other things unrelated. Like yeah! That s what my appointment was made for on the 16th and I told the shop where it was leaking from. This should have been completed already especially since the turn around time I was given was a day or so. Anyways, I stated okay cool, I was quoted $465.00 can you confirm? Cameron continues to tell me the service price he has is more like 1k , said he d speak with his boss about it. Cameron admitted he had some things inputted incorrectly and the new price would be 590.00 after speaking to his boss. If I can t trust a shop to get front of house right, I don t even want to know what happens in the back. My car is getting towed out of there ASAP. Bad vibes y all, do what you will with this information.

I have been to multiple places to get my Mercedes fixed (tried to look at customer service and prices) and i can say by far that The German Car Shoppe is by far the best experience i have had. All of the people in the front are so kind and helpful. And their technicians are very knowledgeable and responsive when i have questions. James especially is one of my favorites. He does a great job at servicing the cars and he is always willing to give me a ride to and from when my car is being serviced. Ed and Dave have taken such great care if all of my needs and always gets me in within a day or two, i never have to wait. Thank you to all the staff here i will continue to bring my car here for any future needs.

Great service! Always kept me updated while they were working on my car. At one point my Mercedes was driving very crooked all because of "Brakes Plus" they eff-it all up trying to conduct an alignment which prove me that they didn't know what they were doing. I then came across "The German Car Shoppe" which they are experts and specialists in German/European vehicles. Very happy with the repair. They aren't pushy on sales and won't sell you unnecessary services/parts unless needed. Thanks again! You guys got a loyal customer.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

I've been to The German Car Shoppe twice now and both times I've had a really great experience. First time I had to replace my heater and they gave me a better price than any other place quoted (including a family friend). I never feel like they are trying to repair things that aren't necessarily or trying to over charge.About a year after my first visit, I started having a strange issue with my car's acceleration (I have a VW CC). I took it to multiple shops and they did test after test, replacing things that had nothing to do with the problem, so it persisted. The German Car Shoppe is further from where I live but I decided to go there as a last resort. They found the problem within hours and were able to fix it that day (and again gave me a really great price). From here on out, this is the only shop I trust to do a good job. Highly recommend!

Bought my daughter her first car last July - a 2017 VW Allroad. Beautiful car, save for one thing - every few starts the car would turn over multiple times before starting. The dealership tried to fix it. My local mechanic tried to fix it. He even tried a few things I found on google searches that I thought might be the issue. Nothing worked. I finally dropped it off at The German Car Shoppe and told Ed, "You're my only hope!" We left the car there for a week while we were away on vacation. When we got back the owner himself was working on the car as no one had been able to duplicate the hard start. After three or four hours he finally got the car to do what we said it was doing and it did it while he had his computer connected. Diagnostics indicated that the car was losing pressure in the fuel line and he also smelled gas. That led him to the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel injectors. When I asked him when he'd like to do the work he selflessly suggested that I have my local mechanic, who it turns out he knew and trusted, do the work so that I would not have to drive down to Denver again. The work is scheduled and I cannot be more thankful for the time and effort the team at the The German Car Shoppe put into solving this nagging issue. If you want the best - this is your team! And even though he spent nearly 6 hours diagnosing the car's issue, he charged me only for four!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I was new to Colorado and looking for a mechanic I could trust with my Audi. Ed and the rest of his colleagues have been the most honest and trustworthy mechanics I ve worked with. Especially as a woman walking into a mechanic shop, I always hated how others try to sell me things I don t need and treat me like I didn t know anything about vehicles. I never once experienced this here and would recommend it to anyone I know!! Reasonable pricing and truthful with what I needed for my vehicle. I trust this whole dealership completely with their great work!

Do not recommend. My son took his car there with a request for them to checkb2 things. It took them a month to even get to it. They called saying they found the problem gave him a quote of $1600.00. Happy that was the only issue he approved for them to fix it. They called back 2 weeks later and said they guess that wasn't the problem. The engine was actually broken, and the mechanic forgot to check for the second issue before calling him the first time with a quote to fix it. The car was bit fixable and because of THEIR mechanics mistake of not checking both issues, they were asked to check when dropping it off, they still charged him $1600 in labor for the work he approved. What horrible customer service. Customers should not be liable when they don't do their job correctly. We also put in a complaint to the BBB. They're just looking to get your money. Don't trust them.

John Waldron and Ed Slofkiss know German Cars. I have two BMW's and look to The German Car Shoppe for all my mechanical needs. Joel is the go to BMW mechanic. He is very knowledgeable on any BMW repair. I know when I have my car worked on at this place, that they are totally honest. I have complete peace of mind that I am getting the best advise and honest repairs. It is nice to have this feeling when I go to them. You will not be disappointed with this place.Service: Engine repair

Hello - I'm not even sure where to start with the amazing service I received at the German Car Shoppe so I'll start with Ed Slofkiss is the best! Without going into all the details, I had a very negative situation with a previous mechanic, so coming to the German Car Shoppe and being treated so warmly and professionally was a godsend.I was a stressed out mess when I arrived at the German Car Shoppe but ended up trusting Ed almost immediately due to his clear (and - remedial - for my benefit) explanation of what was wrong, his reassurance that they would be able to fix it and his commitment to getting it done quickly. ALL of which he delivered on. Oh, and somehow, even with the extra problems they had to solve came out CHEAPER than the original quote he gave me?! I don't know how you did it, Ed but I appreciate it!I cannot express enough my gratitude to Ed for the kindness and handholding throughout this entire process - I am THRILLED to now have a fully functioning VW to drive and am finally able to start enjoying it.Thanks to Ed and everyone behind the scenes for helping me get there. HIGHLY recommend using these guys for ANY car problems EVER. They are fantastic. Katie

Had a coolant leak somewhere in my X1. Called the shop to check their hours (it was a Saturday) and they were open and said we could come in within the hour and they can try to check the issue. We got there and John was incredibly nice and friendly. Had the tech, Quinn, come and take a look, and within minutes he discovered the source of the leak. It was a crack in the coolant housing. John then found the part and said it would be available within half an hour, and that they could fix the issue within a few hours. We were just expecting to make an appointment, so we were pleasantly shocked when they offered to fix it the same day! Quinn gave us a ride home since we lived up the street! Came back in my husband's car when the work was done, and they were just overall excellent in every aspect. The labor costs were very reasonable. We will definitely be going back for any maintenance. Haven't had customer service like that in a while.

ED great. Technicians BAD. Think many times before spending the time and money here. Go to the dealership instead. They will take responsibility. Unlike this place.Don't count on the parts for BMW. 600 miles and prolonged the time to help the dealership. "BUSY?" after replacing the valve seal kit (1-2k repair) was still broken? Such a waste of my 90 DAYS OF TIME. After asking why... According to the mechanic who worked there communicated:"ChEaP!....... Parts warranty means nothing here."Unfortunately, would have to agree valve seal kit replacement after 5k miles. And was a real shame they didn't spot a broken timing chain. 4k to replace. This shop would have made more... But next time? We'll see.

I've been taking my wife's car there for years and have ALWAYS been completely satisfied. Ed tends to take care of his customers as if they are the ONLY customers he has. He is alway personable and caring, and we have always been happy with the quality of work, as well as the reasonableness in cost. We will be moving away shortly, and I have to look for a replacement shop in our new area. Hopefully, the shop they recommended will be as great as these guys. Thanks for always taking great care of us!!

My first experience with them was good when I was diagnosing my bent valve on a BMW 325I. Dave gave me a quote of $126 on Friday and set me up for an appointment on Monday. I had the car towed and the diagnosis was done by noon on Monday, very fast! on Monday again he said $126 when I dropped it off. Unfortunately I was disappointed on Tuesday when I walked in to pay for the service and he said the total was $190. I found this a bit off-putting. I felt taken advantage of being a younger customer. Unfortunately I will not be revisiting this shop and will continue fixing my car on my own terms as it seems I can not find an honest reliable shop in the Denver area.

Dealership found allll sorts of problems with my Mercedes GLK, and told me I needed over $4,000 worth of work done. On a friend's recommendation, I brought it in to Ed for a second opinion. After extensive investigating and thorough testing, they found nothing wrong with my car and charged me $0. So thankful I got a second opinion! These guys are sharp, know how to fix cars - not just replace parts like the dealership - are honest, and easy to work with. Highly recommend!
