I was here on Friday March 29. If i could give a review of -100 then that still would not be an accurate representation of how disgusting and horrible this place is. The facility is dirty and unsanitary. There is floating geese feces and human skin and sludge in every single pool, indoor and outdoor. One of the 23 pools is the duck pond but really it s a swamp for disease and bacteria. The change rooms were also disgusting with dust and hair and dirt all over the place. The soap provided is like dish soap. There are no hooks to hang your clothes or towel. I would never send my worst enemies here to this disgusting place. When i arrive home 3 showers with body wash may not be enough and i am considering getting tested for any diseases for a fear of contracting them from this facility. This place cannot be approved by the FDA as it violates so many health codes.

Hot Sulphur Springs Resort is a perfect getaway for those seeking to step from the city hustle and bustle. The springs are perfect for the relaxing your muscles and just taking a moment to decompress. Their magnesium pool is perfect for anyone like myself that works out a lot and want to really ease your sore muscles. There are many pools on property, ranging in different sizes and temperatures. We went when it was blistering cold outside so we loved the higher temperatures. We also had the privilege of staying in the private springs which are perfect for personal sessions if you need to book a session away from the rest of people. The private spring i believe is hotter than the rest of the outdoor ones as it is enclosed and feels way warmer than you'd expect. There are also showers and lockers for you to access and change into.There is a historic and vintage atmosphere to the resort that many will sure to love. If you book a room your get your basic amenities likes towels and tv nothing to write home to for but it's true bargain if you're travelling in a couple or a small group. My personal favorite part about the springs were the staff. They were incredibly insightful about the area and very helpful for our needs. Overall, if you're looking for a nice getaway for the weekend in a vintage feeling resort, look no further because we will definitely be back here.Rooms: honestly, kind of bare. They are a bargain for what they offer for the springs access. Do not touch the radiators, they burn!Safety: when it snows staff are very on top of snow plowing and ensuring walkways are safe.Walkability: very walkable, even in the snow.Noteworthy details: Sulphur makes your smell like eggs. I would say it lasts at least a day for the smell. Highly recommend a bath with odor neutralizers. WIFI is only in the main lobby, service for at and T + T-Mobile was not working when we stayed, not sure if this will change for those in the future or if you have Verizon. Breakfast is light and there are not many big grocery stores nearby so i would recommend stocking up on snacks before you get here.

Springs were lovely. The temperatures vary between the tubs. Higher on the mountain is hotter. We went in some that were very hot and some that were like bath water. Wonder around and find your perfect temperatures. The rooms are dated, but they are perfect to sleep and shower. They provide unlimited towels for the guests and toiletries in the guest rooms. There is a lovely fireplace room at the lodge to relax and warm up. The staff were all kind and explained everything about the property. The word sulphur explains the smell around the property and the town, but don't forget to remove your jewelry. If you're looking for a 5 Star resort, this isn't it, but it's ideal for a getaway. The website tells you to wear shoes in the decks (slides worked fine for me) - they treat the walkways with salt in winter. Also, the website tells you there is a charge for the use of the lockers. You probably won't have cell service, but there is free wifi in the lodge. Enjoy the unplugged life!

I feel like this place is ok, but not great. When we went there was a bunch of salt on the pathways that really hurt the feet to walk on (I didn't get the memo to where slides/slippers). I felt like the pools temps were a little colder than advertised, and the mineral pools were overrun by kids/families playing, so we kind of wanted to avoid all the commotion. The staff was helpful and informative though. They helped my daughter clean her necklace, which turned black. There was a nice showing of a pack of 16 deer too. Being students helped with discounts, so that was cool.

I had an amazing time! From the public pools to the private ones, it was a truly magical trip. We stayed in a cabin that was built back in the 1840s, and it had the most perfect view. What's more, everyone we met was peaceful and intelligent. Thanks again, for the hospitality.Rooms: The 1840 cabin was far enough away to have privacy and close enough to walk back to the pools!!Nearby activities: There are gift shops and gas stations in walking distanceSafety: Bring some shoes depending on the season, there will be rock salt on the groundNoteworthy details: You will lose Internet if you don't have Verizon. There is a town 10 mins away with cellular needs but there is Wi-Fi on the property in some areas.

Some of the best customer service anywhere. We had a lot of questions and they answered all of them. We also had forgot our shorts at the hotel, but luckily they had shorts for purchase. The spas were really nice. The place is a little out dated and needs some renovation but overall, we really enjoyed several of the pools. The warm water felt amazing after a long day of skiing.

We had a girls day here today 2/7/24. It was great. The staff was helpful, and the massage was great. The pools are labeled with a temperature expectation, which was helpful. We were told to start at the hottest and work our way down. The staff also told us the magnesium pool is best for sore muscles, but they all felt great. I read the reviews, so I knew what to expect. Nothing surprising. Yes we heard a train, but it was short. Yes there's stuff floating in it, it's natural. It's just minerals. There's a board with helpful information before you leave the main desk building. Read it. If you forget anything, you can buy or rent it there. It's recommended or required to bring a swimsuit, towel, robe, flipflops or slides, and a water bottle to stay hydrated. The place is rustic just like the town. You can shower after and they have a soap dispenser in each shower. There are lockers that cost 50 cents and you take the key with you. There is a small sulfur smell. It's in the name people. I have experienced much worse. You can be distracted from it. Just go have fun and enjoy the experience.

I found that staff is friendly if you are friendly to them, and the place as a whole is lovely, in a quirky old Colorado hot springs sort of way. Rooms could really use some updates. FYI room prices are higher if it is a holiday, and they don't seem to limit the amount of visitors... I made the mistake of going during President's day weekend. I learned crowds getting in and out of the pools make them cooler, and there aren't enough warm pools for it to be pleasant with a lot of people who are thinking the same thing! Waking up early in the cold, peaceful morning and sharing the hot springs a just few area locals was the best part of my weekend getaway.

Probably the worst hot spring experience I've had. Doubt I'd go back if it was my first time, this is a 1/10. Water is warm, but the charm ends there. No capacity restrictions, couldn't even fit into 90% of the pools. Endless amounts of human pulp and skin chunks floating in these pools. Saw some as big as my palm, as well as the occasional used bandaid. Truly could not look at the water and stand being in it.Locker rooms were gross, every inch of floor was wet and dirty. The sign upon leaving that says "Relaxed ?" made us all laugh because of how unpleasant the whole experience was. That's a $10 experience at best. Left 30 minutes ago and still cringing at the chunks, slimy floors, and general lack of care this place takes to provide a nice experience.Noteworthy details: Skin chunks

I spent a night here and the rooms were very spacious.I chose this spot for the hot springs and it seemed worth it to spend the night given they give guests towels and a grab bag for breakfast.I thought some of the staff were a little rude, but that might have been because they were busy. The layout for the hotel and actual pools was not explained well to me.Something to keep in mind is that they do have lockers for storage, but they cost 50 cents for a single use. The pools smell heavily of eggs (sulfur) and there's no cap on how many people can go in, so on colder nights, the hotter pools (which are located up the hill) are the most packed (I went into a small pool with like 15 people already in there). The grounds get very slippery at night with all the ice, so be careful when walking around.

This was a fun thing to do while we were in Granby, especially after a day of being on the mountain, and it was only a 15 minute drive or so to get there from our place in Granby. Saturday is apparently their busiest night and there is no capacity or cut off for the number of entrances. It was a really cold night (in the teens) so we thought we would start on Level 3 in the hotter pools and work our way down. That is not what happened. Apparently with so many people being there, the pool temps cool down so the larger pool that was supposed to be 106+ was maybe 100. It would be good for them to check temps routinely and update the pool temps for their customers to have a better experience. Unfortunately that was one of the big pool and was too cold for us to hang out in for too long, so we moved to a smaller pool that was definitely 107+ but could really only fit 5 people. There was another big pool with a waterfall but that area was much too loud for a relaxing experience, so we stayed in the one small pool until we couldn't stand the heat any longer. These 2 pools that we experienced at the right side of the property were very shallow and the bottom/sides of the pool were a rocky texture which was very uncomfortable to sit on (and the possibility of snagging my bathing suit) and the benches were positioned too high in the pools so it was too cold to use those. Its a very interesting experience, different from our other hot spring experiences and it was also much less expensive. We got a day pass and a towel rental for $30. Lockers are small and only cost 50 cents. It was also a very peaceful soak (minus the loud people) and I am sure its a beautiful view being on the side of the mountain during the day. Sorry no photos. It was too cold to bother with a phone. Everything was freezing that night my towel, my shoes, my HAIR. There are also water bottle refills available if you bring your own bottle.

Our favorite hot spring. Multiple pools from hottest up top to coolest down below. Even has a waterfall! Spent the night twice, and rooms feel like cabins. The rooms have everything you need and are very clean, and if something is amiss, the front desk is just the BEST. Always accommodating and very sweet - will keep going back again and again!Nearby activities: There is a thrift store within walking distance up the street to the left! Enough said!Safety: Very tucked away - they do have cameras in use.

I love hot tubs, baths, hot springs, etc. - this was disgusting. I don t know that I ve ever been to a public pool that felt more unsanitary. The locker rooms had stuff all over the walls and floors and smelt strongly of chemical cleaner. The pools were all the size of a hot tub and full of people, but they don t cap the max persons. There was nowhere to sit. The pools also said they were 105 degrees but were maximum 95 degrees. I would NOT recommend at all. They also do smell strongly of sulphur (per the name) so if you are sensitive to smell, it will bother you.

I visited this place on Feb18th, 2024. What a great disappointment. Very misleading on tub temperatures. I could do better in my bath tub at home. The tubs were quite small. They need to limit amount of people visiting. I asked for a refund. I told them that the pools were no where near the temperatures posted. There response was that there was to many people in the tubs and it changes the temperatures. Really! I don t think the water coming from the earth is adjusted by the amount of people in the tubs. This place is a total joke and not worth any $$ a soak, Highly recommend to use your bathtub at home. Stay away unless you like throwing $ into a waste can! I visit a lot of hot springs and this one is the worst ever.

Poor maintenance of facility. There are no rubber non slip mats. On the stairs or near the tubs. I fell down one of the sets of steps and the employees watching from the window did not even ask if I was okay. Employee went out and salted without saying a word to me. The tubs are glorified bath tubs. They get slightly warmer than like warm. Most views are obstructed. Do not recommend.

If you re looking for a classy, upscale, sleek, modern spa with hot springs, this is not it. This is a spa build in the 1990s that has not been modernized (with the possible exception of the changing rooms, which seemed much newer), and much of the building materials are mismatched and discolored. All that said, if you want to experience completely natural hot springs in an array of rocky, cement, and tub-style pools (total of 16 at the time of our visit in February, including uncovered, covered, and indoors) for a great price in a snowy mountainside, you re in luck. We came here as a pit stop to kill 2 hours before heading to Denver airport and to experience hot springs for the first time, and it was perfect for that purpose. It was not busy when we arrived at 9:30 but was decently so by the time we left at 11:30. They had everything we needed available to purchase or rent - towels, sandals, robes, even swimsuits, as well as water fountains scattered throughout. Walk ins are welcome and their operating hours are excellent (8am to 10pm if I recall correctly), and you can come and go off the property as long as you notify the front desk. The staff was helpful and friendly, as were the locals that apparently come there on a daily basis. The pools that are set higher in the mountain are typically the hotter pools, and vice versa, ranging from 114-90ish Fahrenheit; they have varying levels of minerals though the only distinction made on the signs was the high-magnesium pool. All of the pools are filled with water ONLY from the 122 acre property s 7 hot springs, without any additives such as chlorine; they do certainly have the sulfur smell but it didn t bother me after 20 minutes or so. We definitely felt relaxed and loose after 2 hours. Children are only allowed on the base floor where the cooler pools are, so I was glad we didn t have our kids with us as I preferred the higher pools. They also offer massages (I don t recall pricing) and private pools for $30 per person for one hour, both of which are easily booked online. We started with a private pool, which had its own shower and sauna-style room, but the pool was scalding (113 I think she said?) and had white strands things floating in it, which naturally alarmed me. Turns out those white floaters are in all of the pools and upon close inspection by my husband appeared to be disintegrated caulking, which made me feel better. Otherwise there was the occasional gnat or hair floating in the pools which I think is to be expected at any facility. Lots of birds could be heard chirping in the surrounding trees. The hotel rooms looked old but not necessarily unclean or run-down from the outside. The town looks like an old mining style town that is very small (population of 600) and rundown, with only a single restaurant I could find that didn t open till 4pm. The spa itself does have a cafeteria but we didn t even venture in there, as well as a small gift shop. Overall, very inexpensive way to experience authentic natural hot springs in a remote setting, though I think the resort could really use a significant renovation to make it more aesthetically appealing and cleaner feeling. Bring your own flip flops, towel, robe, swimsuit, and kindle to optimize the experience.

Looking for a quiet, romantic getaway, or just wanna check out the hot springs at a lower price point than the others in CO? Hot Sulphur Springs Resort is the place to go! Secluded and quiet, this resort is tucked away in a small, mountain town. The hot spring pools and tubs vary from about 95-110 degrees year-round. The staff were friendly and helpful. Can stay in one of the rooms or just for the day. The rooms could be updated significantly, though .Rooms: Need significant updatesNearby activities: Have to drive a little bit, but close to Granby and Grand Lake, and not too far from Silverthorne and Winter Park. Hot Sulphur Springs doesn t offer much else in terms of things to do or eatFood & drinks: Will need to bring food or visit one of the neighboring towns

What a dump! Please maintain your resort and stop overselling your facility. Overcrowded, the temperatures in the pools have nothing to do with reality. Only one pool is actually warm. Changing rooms are dirty and overcrowded. Only 3 showers for over 20 people trying to use it, not enough lockers, muddy floors. Walkways are covered in salt, people are tracking it from pool to pool. Building looks like its falling apart, gutter falling off hanging. You could do so much better!Don t go during holiday season, maybe during off season its decent, we went on 28th of Dec, what a waste of time! Very disappointing.

Don't waste your time and money. Total disappointment. Several of the pools were roped off, the temperatures advertised were not accurate. The pools were luke warm at best. There was not a "hot" pool to be found. The pools are small, so you were close and personal with the other guests. The walkways and the areas around the pools were very icy! Overall it was poorly maintained, but the worst part is that the pools are not hot. We stayed for less than an hour. Epic waste of time and money.

Trans friendly. This is the best paid hot spring if you're willing to drive into the mountains. Small, intimate pools scattered around the mountain face. Beautiful views. Most pools are 2-4 people max. Then there are some larger ones. Some are covered and some are uncovered. So many options.

Cute little spot for hot springs. Did not stay overnight so cannot comment on the rooms. Many of the pools are small so you have to keep coming back to find a spot. I would also prefer a few more higher temp pools. Some pools weren't all that hot. Not an amazing view but great price for some quality soaking. Sulphur smell not an issue while soaking but you and your clothes will smell after!

We were up in Granby for vacation and my wife had never experience hot springs of any kind so it was a must do for us. They have quite a bit of man man pools to dip into that range from 85 degrees to 112+ degrees. Quite a few felt about the same temp although the signs showed different. The larger ones were a little on the cooler side and those in our range 107-109 were very small (could only fit 2 people) so at times, we had to wait for others to leave so we could enjoy them. If I had to rate this compared to Steamboat Springs, Steamboat would be better but the location here was very nice. Much more peaceful.

The oldest operating hot springs resort in Colorado, the Natives of what is now known as Hot Sulphur Springs used this as a medicinal spring.I've been here solo, and I've stayed here on Christmas with my family before. Both were easy, casual access to an affordable day trip or weekend getaway. Room in lobby for meals and kids. Quiet. Towels and flip flops available to buy.Would like to see the property maintained more, however. ie: finish pools, fix privacy fences, cleaner bathrooms/lockers, fix walkways. What a precious gem, let's treat it like one!Rooms: Older facilities but clean.Nearby activities: Winter Park & Grand Lake & Grandby nearby with tubing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, small town shops and some dine-in restaurants.

This place is disgusting. The pools are crusty, full of dead skin floating around and bathrooms are unsanitary and hair everywhere. I would not call this a relaxing place and it s definitely against public health codesAm never coming back

A bit of a drive from Denver, but the baths are very relaxing, despite the sulphur smell lolDefinitely worth a visit. They also provide bags for your wet clothes afterwards, which I did not think about. They were very thoughtful and accommodating. Definitely recommend.Noteworthy details: If it's snowing, bring flip flops or water shoes.

The hot springs were okay, the 16 pools is a little deceiving as they are small pools, some only fitting 2 or 4 people. I went durning winter so it was actively snowing, they use rocksalt between the pools and they are not very close. However, the bathrooms were revolting, empty water bottles, puddles of water, hair, and nastiness everywhere. We arrived around 6 and left about 830,9 and the same dirty cloths were on the lockroom floor, it was never cleaned. The lockers are very small, with only one bench in the common area. Some basic cleaning would have made the experience so much better, I went with 4 adult women.Nearby activities: Ski and tubing
