All I can say is WOW! We stayed in the treehouse with 2 adults and a baby. It sits directly on the lake. The views are breathtaking. The room was comfortable and ideal for a family of 3-4. The second bedroom is more of a den as it is not closed to the living room via an opening. So two couples wouldn t really work that well if anyone is in the living room or kitchen before they wake up. There is no one above, below or to the side of you. The house is walking distance to everything. The kitchen was fully stocked. No bathtub but shower always had hot water. Everything was clean. Beds were comfortable and plenty of blankets and pillows. They also provided a box fan. The temp at night in Oct is about 40, so sleeping is not problem with a window open. We loved every minute of our stay and will be back many times. Oh and eat at One Love Rum Kitchen and Grand Pizza!

Perfect location! Every room has a lakefront view, and there are chairs & tables on the deck to sit and enjoy. Boardwalk along the sparkling lake begins right in front of the lodge and leads to eateries, marina, & beach. Great coffee shop just behind the lodge as well as 2 other restaurants on the same block. Easy to walk anywhere else in town! Free, onsite parking, so you really don't have to drive. Walk around south side of the lake from the dirt lot in front of the lodge. BONUS! A real human to check you in & out (with great customer service)! We've had hotels with only email or text check-in and ran into some difficulties. Rocky Mountain National Park and trails are nearby, with one trail leaving from town. It's not a new, sparkly hotel, but we enjoyed the charm & the rooms were very clean.

This was the second time we have stayed at the Western Rivera. We thoroughly enjoyed both times! It is so nice to step out of our room and relax on the deck enjoying the beautiful view while looking across the lake! Also, everyone was so friendly and helpful! We look forward to staying again in the future.Walkability: The Western Riviera is within walking distance of any place you would want to go in downtown Grand Lake. It is also just five minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Great place! We would stay here again. Close to shops and restaurants. Beautiful view of the lake from the room. Carol at the front desk is amazing, friendly and informative! The place is old but well maintained and clean! The walls are this but we did not hear anyone on a weekend night. Bring your own pillow. You should stay here! Great find!

What a great place to stay. Friendly welcome, fantastic location overlooking the lake, nice cabin, clean and well equipped. Easy walk along the lakefront or around town.Quick access to RMNP, much less congestion than from the east side!Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at the Lake House for years and have always had a great experience except for this year. We had no water for a half a day and the television would cut out every 15 minutes for 2 or 3 minutes. They finally got it fixed on Friday before we left on Sunday. The manager, Carol, did not even acknowledge our inconvenience or offer any remedy. She only reminded us that we couldn't reserve for summer of 2024 until she talked to the new owners. Once she talked to the new owners she seemed to take pleasure in telling us that we could reserve for 2024 but we could not bring our service dog with us. We've always brought her and it's never been a problem. We Will return to Grand Lake in 2024 but will spend our $4000 at a different place. In my opinion, Carol knows nothing about customer service and should find another line of work.Walkability: Easy access to town

They just recently banned me and my family from staying because I complained about their new cancellation policy. For years we've been guests there a couple times a year at least and if we needed to change a reservation they always gave us credit for a future stay. Not any more. Tightening their belt on fefunds she said. I felt betrayed and complained about them not giving me credit for a future stay at least and they BANNED us from staying there ever again! We had stayed there for years and were treated like family but they are now playing hardball with their new cancellation policy despite your faithful patronage in the past. My family and I are so very saddened.

Clean room, friendly staff and a comfortable bed. The location was beyond perfect. I went on 3 hikes and none was more than 7 minutes away. Moose, Bald Eagle, big horned sheep and countless other wildlife. Will stay here again next time I m in the area.

Wonderful place! Nice and clean with a cabin feel. Amazing view of the lake and a quick 1 min walk to the water front. This seems to be a small lazy town so if your looking for up beat big city entertainment, it s not here. Boat, kayak, paddle boat, paddle board, rental about 2 minutes away. Everything is in walking distance. Definitely would recommend a few day stay!!!

Absolutely wonderful stay at this place. The hotel is literally by the lake, two levels, the door and window has a direct view of the lake. The location is unbeatable right in the heart of town. Everything is in walking distance. The empty lot in front (sandy area) I believe is for parking for boats/kayaks. We stayed late may and there wasn t anyone, but still a level lower than the hotel so the view is still unobstructed. To the right is a little passageway to a gazebo (we didn t have a chance but was introduced by the lake tour). If we ever come back to grand lake again, this is definitely the place to go!

This place was amazing! I stayed in one of the "large cabin" rooms, and it was absolutely perfect. Not only is the room stocked with everything you need, it's right on the lake, and was the peaceful "reset" getaway I was looking for and needing. Very peaceful, especially at night - I was there for a full moon shining over the mountain and reflected in the lake and the quiet beauty is incredible. Then, for those that want more than just relaxing lakeside, they are set within perfect walking distance of all the shops and restaurants on the main street. I definitely look forward to a return visit.

We stayed here for one night in late April. It was still a little cool out to take advantage of the lake but we really enjoyed the close walking-distance to town and the scenery. The hotel is in a great location south of the RMNP and on the water. Room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the close proximity to the lake and town. The young lady at the front desk was very kind and outgoing.

Zoey at the front desk was so very knowledgeable of the hiking trails, secret hot springs, lake trails, restaurant suggestions. We had a problem with our refrigerator and she moved us to another room.Kathy was another staff member who was very kind and we had the pleasure of eating a meal with her. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind as well and tried his best to fix the refrigerator.Thank you all for a wonderful time. The lake is right in front of the hotel, so beautiful!I do feel is was a bit pricey for a room with one queen bed.Thank you.Sincerely,Deb M.

This would be a 5 star review, but the front desk were very busy staring at their screens when we checked in. I know it was mud season, but what else did they have to do? Otherwise the view is unbeatable. And it is a great location. It is vintage so enjoy.

This is a very nice little place, especially for families. The desk staff was very helpful and polite. (I'm a Southerner and we love other people who are polite!) The view overlooks Grand Lake and it's beautiful! Walking distance to many eateries and local shops. For the price, you get a great view compared to other local lodges and motels. Located very close to the Grand Lake Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Very glad we chose this location!

Recently stayed here for a night while our cabin had some construction and it was such a godsend. We got to stay in the "treehouse" and the price was so much more affordable than what we saw nearby. On top of that, the house itself has a cute balcony that overlooks Grand Lake and is walking distance to all of the local shops and restaurants. I cannot recommend choosing Western Riviera enough. Thank you for the clean cute space with lots of little touches!

Great stay! Morgan was especially friendly, welcoming and helpful during our entire stay. She gave us ideas, what was open vs closed, where to visit, what to eat, etc. It made a world of a difference. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was easy. Views of lake Spectacular! Thank you Morgan and the family at Western Riv! We will def be back, can't wait for summer!

Stayed overnight here in one of the lakeside cabins with 2 friends. Small and cozy yet spacious enough with a bedroom and (surprisingly) very comfortable queen sofa pull out bed. Great views and comfy amenities. Best thing is waking up early and going out onto the porch and right down to the pier. Very close to everything too so once we parked our car there we walked everywhere! Overall a good experience here at Grand Lake.

Wonderful experience. Planned at last minute. Price better than any other local rental. Property has a priceless view of the Grand Lake. Walking distance to all local restaurants and shopping. Kayaking, paddle boarding rentals Adjacent to motel. Guest relations in the office are just as friendly in person I was on the phone. They are the icing on the cake to the entire experience.I highly recommend this property for a rental.

We wanted a Lakeview the only ADA rooms they have are located in the courtyard. Super large bummer. So I opted for the not so ADA but wheelchair accessible lakeside room. We stayed in room #6, there is a step up to the room, not a big deal I just helped my husband in. Although there is so much furniture in the room that I had to move tables and TV tables around for him to be able to even get in the door. Once we were in I noticed that the bathroom door is not wide enough for a large person to get through let alone a wheelchair. Super big minus since I asked if it was a wheelchair accessible room. It was on the outside but not on the inside. The large bed in the master room leaves very little room for walking around. There was a broken fridge under the sink that had not been cleaned up before being taped up. My recommendation is to cover it with a curtain so people don't even know its there. The beds are very comfortable, even the pullout sofa was nice. It felt clean and well taken care of. I went to open the blinds and the covering at the top fell off. The shower head in the bathroom could use some real maintenance. I recommend putting in a handheld for those that need to sit in the shower. Smoking is allowed outside on the balcony in front of the rooms. I would prefer there to be a better place, since the rooms have no A/C, and to get a breeze you want the windows open. For nonsmokers, someone may as well be smoking in the room. All in all the staff was great and we had a great time on the lake. We were able to get a good nights rest and get back out there to enjoy another day on the lake.
