These guys are awesome! They are very mellow, knowledgeable and happy to help and they are quick. I had my transmission rebuilt with them after they diagnosed it. They were quick and communicative.We brought my moms tundra in and they diagnosed that transmission as well and was very open and honest yet not pushy. While we were there he was very personable. When my transmission started leaking I took it in and they fixed it the same day with no charge. Very efficient family owned place!Will recommend them to anyone to them!Update 1 year later.I had Performance Transmission rebuild my transmission last year (around September of 2021) they were nice and helpful just as I said before. How ever just after the only 1 year warranty is up, my truck starts shifting terribly, so I take it back to them, they charged 100 dollars to drop the pan, and gave me the solenoids for free. I thought whatever it s not terrible, it s out of warranty even though it was only a year. Well, now here I am, maybe 1-2 months later if that, the transmission is COMPLETE TRASH, left me and my son stranded and had to get a tow truck. I dropped the pan myself, there s so much metal in the bottom as you ll see in pictures. Im LIVID!!!!!! I called them and told them about it, he said well, get it to us and we will see. Well obviously I m not letting them touch anything else, I m cutting my losses and buying a transmission and installing it myself, so I ask if they will buy their transmission core, they will only pay 250 for it, when I can get 450 from the place I m getting my next one from. Terrible work. Let me make it very well known, in this past year I have been on maternity leave and have not driven my truck in 3 month, and before maternity I was driving mostly interstate driving, was never hard on the transmission in any way. My truck had 237,877 miles on it when they put the new transmission in, now here I am 1 year later at 247,301 miles and it s TRASHED.. that s only 12,424 miles all in town/interstate driven miles.My 5 star rating went down to 1 star and I will never return and I feel terrible for recommending at least 10 people to this shop.Service: Transmission

I can't say enough good things about Don the owner and the crew over at Performance Transmission. I was on a road trip and blew my transmission driving through MOAB area on a weekend. Couldn't find any shop to take me in, but Don was happy to get me in on short notice and had the truck back on the road in 3 days (had to wait on parts for a day or two). They did a great job and I was back on my way.I did have a transmission issue about a year later with unknown cause, and Don was quick to offer resolution and honored the warranty he offered me 100%. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this place to friends and family.I wish all shops treated their customers the way Don at Performance Transmission does. It's really hit or miss in my experience and I'm fortunate to have found these guys.Thank you!!Service: Transmission

So far very good! Great staff who can't seem to do enough. They came to my aid on a Saturday and got me on the road quickly. Now for the longevity of thier work, I'm confident it will last.

The transmission on our 1991 Chevy campervan broke down near Moab, Utah, and after calling a dozen garages, the gentlemen at Performance Transmission were a lifesaver. They were the only transmission shop that made room to work us in. They fixed up our transmission and it's never driven better. Thanks guys!

Don seems like a really great guy. No bullshit like alot of other shops, he was fair on his flat rate, real close on his time estimate, and even came back to the shop late so I could pick up my truck. Don also seems to have a good understanding of modifying transmissions for high performance applications, will most certainly recommend him and his guys.

These guys work very hard in a little shop and they are always willing to help other local mechanics with the little parts inside a transmission they'll never find anywhere around here. If you are someone who wants the inside of a transmission too work right with no corners cut and only one expensive visit for a big repair this is the place to go. If you want something tougher than stock for your big diesel pick up or something for your rockcrawler that won't snap it's going to be the shop you want. Or if you are another mechanic needing some little nylon thingiemajigs nobody in America keeps in stock you might get it free out of a toolbox junk drawer. There isn't a lot of transmission shops around western Colorado but with what we have to choose from this is the one you want for good parts and good work so bring your wallet and you'll get what you need or go to the others and get a scrapyard job. I have seen the insides of many locally rebuilt transmissions and this shop just doesn't mess them up and does them right. If you have problems and have to come see them again you'll most likely find out that it wasn't their fault. They beat Baker by far in honesty and price and build with good parts you won't get from Family Auto. You'll leave paying them for more than you get and elsewhere and you'll probably never need a warranty for the work because you won't ever need to come back.

Had a transmission replaced for my 2001 Toyota 4runner. Their estimate of cost and time to replace the transmission was very accurate, I would recommend this company to anyone who is having transmission problems. OBD PO741 code came up on my Silverado Sunday night on my way across the USA. Monday morning I waited for Performance Trans to open. When Don arrived he listened to my problem and then Don, Jim and Carlos fitted me into their schedule and installed new solenoid. I got my truck back by Monday afternoon.
