I m unsure why car shops feel the need to overprice girls. I was given a price of $110 for general inspection, called later to check status, Phil changed it to $120, I said I was told $110, he said ok. When I came in to pickup my car, I saw on the whiteboard general inspection: $63 there s that. He now sees I saw that and changes it to $63. Next, Phil said I NEEDED a brake flush, pricing around $180, but Brakes Plus said $70, I went straight to brakes plus after, they said my brake fluid looks good, does not need to be flushed WHATSOEVER. Phil estimated $950+ to replace my radiator, radiator hoses, & a brake flush w/ inspection included in price. About $700 of that is LABOR COSTS ONLY. ARE YOU KIDDING?! There s no doubt in my mind he tried taking advantage of me & the fact that I was a young woman who didn t seem to know much about cars. I know enough about cars to know he deliberately tried to overcharge and take advantage of me. Shame on you.

I have been going to Import Specialist for nearly 30 years with my hardest repair projects. I'm a DIY car guy, but a person needs to know their limitations! These people have always come through and met or exceeded my expectations. Thank you for being a trusted and thorough shop. I highly recommend!

Their prices where reasonable, and Greg lowered the diagnostic price for me. His mechanic left the cover off my engine but they kindly called and even ran the cover over to us. I would highly recommend them.

Phil was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and my car is running better than ever! Most mechanics I've been to feel impersonal and predatory, but Import Specialists did what was necessary at a reasonable price. I expect my car to run well for a long time, but when the time comes for more repairs I will definitely be going back.

A $1,231.83 total bill and I'm STILL hearing the same mechanical sounds I brought my 2000 Subaru in for. I even brought it back so they could hear the vehicles puzzling noises. Retrieving the car later that day resulted in no change/repair to my initial concern.When is a repair shop accountable for misdiagnosis????Rather than a partial refund, they offered me 10% off future repairs. As if we would ever return!ALWAYS SEEK A SECOND OPINION ELSEWHERE FOR CAR REPAIRS.

The problem is much better after changing oil weights. The mystery clicking noise (valve issue? Timing chain?) Is gone by moving from 5W30 to 5W20.

I have been in and out of shops, personal mechanics, more shops over the past 2 years, trying to get my brakes and rotors fixed.I found import specialist, and thought I'd give them a try. They fixed the source of my issue by replacing my caliper hardware on all 4 axels and replaced my rear rotors. All less than $700!!They didn't try to upsell me and was honest about their work. I loved the technician Jacob as he had "car-side manner, and was very thorough.I will forever be working with Import specialists for any and all work on my Toyota. I worked directly with Phil and Jacob, but the rest of their crew is kind welcoming and friendly.Thank you guys so much!Services: Auto brake repair, Vehicle Inspection, Brakes, Vehicle safety inspection

These guys did an excellent job and saved us a lot of moneyNot only were they willing to wave the diagnostic fee when we agreed to have the job done there, but they also took care of an extra problem that I was having with my vehicle. Because my window was out of the track and it was kind of screwed up in my door, they fixed that for free, which to my surprise saved me a lot of time so I didn't have to do that myself.

I have been bringing my vehicles here for service since the 90s. Dozens of visits and never a problem. Import Specialists are the only ones I trust to touch my car, now approaching 300,000 miles.Thank you Import for being their for me for so long!!!

I've owned nothing but Toyotas it's the 1980s, and I've been doing all my own mechanical repairs, But occasionally I get stumped, or know that I'm in over my head with bigger or more complex repairs, and these guys are my go-to mechanics. Derek, who is the lead tech at Import Specialist, was a mechanic at the local Toyota dealership for over 7-years, so he has a ton of experience.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Leaving them 5 stars but they deserve more!!! I have never had such great customer service anywhere - car repair or otherwise! I came in after a car accident hoping for basic repairs. They offered me such a great price on the body work that I was sure it was too good to be true. Not only did they fix dents from the accident, but they also fixed older dents. I think they even fixed my sound system! My car looks brand new and they gave me a lower price when I came into pay than the original quote. Honest and good people! Cannot thank Debby and David enough - turned a bad situation into a great deal! Can't imagine this kind of service from a big repair chain. Brought car in for replacement of brake line. Needed it asap or would have waited for another day for family to install. One week later. Car is now being towed home. They said we're waiting on part. I found this part right away. They changed $114.00 for diagnostic. I wanted the putting out. They are Rip off, rude. At least the office gal. BBB NEXT This is not an out of state car. No excuse. BBB has been notified

I absolutely love this place. I was so anxious about finding a new mechanic when I moved to Fort Collins a few years ago, but I always feel so good leaving my car here. The prices are so reasonable, and they have a great turn-around time. I'm always baffled by how low my bill is! The first time I went to them, another shop in town quoted me $900+ for something that Import Specialists only charged me $400 for. The first shop mentioned it would be weeks to wait for the part, but Import had it within a day or two (in fact, I think they actually had it already). They also fixed the ROOT of the problem (a hose leaking fluid onto another part) which the other place did not diagnose or offer to fix. I have been a loyal customer ever since! Weird noises, routine oil changes, breakdowns... I go to them for anything without hesitation. They are honest and their prices are SO fair! Another reviewer described them as "ethical" -- I 100% agree. I would recommend this shop to anyone!

They deserve infinite stars. I honestly didn t know where to bring my car because I knew if I brought it to my dealership I would of gotten charged so much money for what had happened. I was told to go here by a friend and I m honestly so glad I did. They were shocked and said they have never seen anything like that with a car. All 4 of my doors were messed up in alignment and at the tops they were open. He did some bending and used some tools to even them out, and he literally made my car look like nothing happened at all. I am so thankful I came here. I am so thankful for the amount of support and care they put into my car and gave to me as well that I think this is my NEW FAVORITE place to bring my car to get work done on it. I am truly thankful for the one who got my doors back to normal, he is literally so awesome. You have gained a new customer and from now on this is where I will be coming for my work. Very honest and very understanding. Never have met amazing people like the ones that work here. True hero s! I can t say thank you enough. Because I truly am so thankful. Thank you thank you thank you guys!!

This team of auto specialists is trustworthy, reliable, personable, and always professional. I have experienced their exceptional service for more than a decade; my parents for longer than that. Not once have I regretted my dealings with them. The estimates they have provided me are honest and competitive. Importantly, in my view, I have been treated with compassion and respect each time that I have sought their services. I am grateful that Import Specialists is part of Fort Collins--my hometown.

I've now taken my vehicle in twice for needed maintenance. And experienced top notch service from beginning to end. Very fast in replying to communications, quick to schedule and extremely quick to service. They're keeping my car running like new. Excellent beyond expectations. They did a great job getting my pushbutton starter to work and then flushing the brake fluid. All at a less than expected price (flushing the brake fluid was less than $150).

Just tried these guys out for the first time because my usual place couldn't get me in before my trip and they were also nearby. These guys are great! The guy at the front desk was very attentive and kept me in the loop about my car the whole time. He offered helpful suggestions for improvement (nothing ridiculous like some other car places) and he could tell I wasn't expecting to pay that much. I had to prioritize what I needed done for the trip and what I could actually afford. When it came time to pay, he told me he did some things for free and gave me a discount. I don't even know why, I was so pleasantly surprised! I paid like 60$ less than originally quoted. Clearly, these guys care about their customers (even new ones like me!) and are not interested in gouging anyone for profit. All of the staff was friendly and attentive, I was treated like a rockstar. I will *definitely* be returning in the future. :)

They did a great and quick job figuring out an electrical issue with my Subaru. They were also friendly and patient with my questions and didn't overcharge me. Plus, it's a convenient location for me.

You can consider this yourselves, but this is my worst experience taking my car to fix. I took the car to this place to get my timing belt replaced.. However, after I picked the car up, one of my car window isn t working, so I went back to them right away(only around 5-10min). I had a concern because it broke after I took my car there. They said the only thing the mechanic did to my window was rolling it up and down while he was taking it inside. They also said that it might have already broken before I took it to their place, but they said it themselves that THE ONLY THING THEY DID TO MY WINDOW WAS ONLY ROLLING IT UP AND DOWN. If they were able to use it, how could it be broken before then? Anyway, they offered to take a look at it for me for free with a discount if I really need to fix it. It could be just the coincidence that my car window broke after they worked with it, but it s just so weird for me, so I didn t want to agree with them so easily. After a long conversation, I agreed to have them take a look at my window for me again. I left my car there over the weekend. I understood though that they wouldn t be able to do anything on the weekend, but the lady I talked to told me that someone will definitely call me by noon on Monday. However, nobody called me AT ALL. I waited until 4 in the afternoon and called them that I didn t want to fix it anymore. I don t think they even cared to really look at it for me. Everything looked the same just how I parked it there on Friday. Most of the reviews said that they are very trustworthy, so I took my car there, but I was instead very sad and disappointed Updated 08/04/2020Now this just happened, I only drove a car back from work. It was only 4-5 miles. I heard something from the hood, so I opened it. There was a smoke coming out. Okay, how could two things broke at within a few days after I saw you guys?Last UpdatedI changed my star to 3 instead because later on they(including the owner) were trying many times to contact me to give them one more chance. The owner talked very nicely to me though, but I just feel sad to go back to the place, so I didn t.

Have been using them for many years and always received great service at a fair price. I consider them to be honest and they proved that again today when I took my car in to get an oil and engine coolant change. Rather than just doing the coolant change, Lou told me it didn't need to be done since it was changed last year when we did a water pump replacement. I was very impressed with that and will always make sure I recommend Import Specialists when I can.

Greg was extremely courteous. I dropped my car off right around noon, and Greg set the expectation that they might not make it to diagnosing my car today, based on their workload. I was pleasantly surprised when not only did I receive a call letting me know what the problem was, but that my car would actually be ready for pickup that evening. I was really pleased with the quality of service. I'm glad I supported this business!

This is a phenomenal shop full of kind and honest people. You will only experience professional and honest work from this shop, whether you are dealing with a collision or regular maintenance. Very kind people who are understanding of your situation and will work with you to find a solution to get your car fixed and not break the bank. I am so impressed with the customer service here and would recommend anyone with foreign cars to go here with their car troubles.

I took my Honda here to get my timing belt replaced. They got it right in and I got it back the same day. Very reasonably priced in comparison to other shops. I'll definitely continue going there for all my needs. The staff are incredibly friendly also. Definitely recommend!
