Everyone should stay here at least once in their lifetime. Put it on your bucket list. Do it now.First, I noticed the architectural beauty of a building crafted from a local quarry over a century ago.But then the owners of the facility met me at the door while checking in. This lead to an intelligent, friendly, engaging conversation. When was the last time the owners met you at the door of a mainstream hotel chain?I was given some very useful and practical information about the locale. I'm considering relocating to this area and the locals are a very good source of much needed insight. The room itself exudes a beauty - the interior trim work, the walls, the decor, and the furnishings. All contain a warmth. Very, very tasteful. And quiet. It's hard to appreciate that until you experience it.Very conveniently located to a coffee shop, et al. Very easy parking. Not just a great place to stay but a satiating experience. Please, please, please ... support small business owners wherever you go. They are the salt of the earth and the backbone of prosperity in any society.

What a hidden gem! Lara texted me that my room would be ready with my name on the door. She greeted us outside and told us a little about herself and her husband, Nathan. You can clearly truly tell they have put their heart and soul into this place. Warm cookies were waiting for us and yes, Lara can bake! The bed was comfy and was all was appointed so nicely! You won t be sorry you booked this!We had a wonderful drive on the north side of the Black Canyon. This is a must if you in the area, breathtaking!Joe s bar/ restaurant across the street had great food, homemade pies and a friendly bar tender.

Fantastic little two room boutique hotel in Crawford Colorado. Off the beaten path, but worth the effort. Proprietors are very friendly and helpful with suggestions. Rooms are comfortable for two. Near Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park north rim. But tons of other stuff to do. Only challenge is finding restaurants on Sunday and Monday. Everything else is great. Highly recommended.

Lara and Nathan pay attention to every little detail to make our stay even more comfortable than home. We were greeted with homemade cookies in our room and we were also able to check in early. The room is delightfully decorated, the bed extremely comfortable, the kitchenette area had everything we may have needed, and the small well-appointed bathroom had a beautiful claw foot tub. The outside grounds are equally delightful with several sitting options on the front porch and a lovely tea garden. The location is perfect for a visit to the north rim of the Black Canyon, a visit to Joe Cocker s grave, and for a lovely drive to Paonia for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!

What a charming haven and so convenient to exploring the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison! We arrived late and Lara was wonderful about having it ready for us, even recommending a place to grab dinner in Gunnison on the way. Beautiful room, gorgeous flower garden, and truly kind and friendly hosts. Every detail was perfect, down to the delicious cookies we found waiting for us. A very special place with an amazing history!

Quaint inn conveniently located near the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. It has reserved parking immediately out front, a nice front porch with rockers for relaxing and watching the world go by, a cozy room with a big bed. Our room had a small refrigerator/freezer (with frosty mugs), an electric kettle, a coffee maker and a selection of teas and coffees. Well appointed bathroom with a claw foot bathtub completed the set up. Our host, Nathan came by while we were relaxing on the porch and offered suggestions for where to eat. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in the area (especially the yummy cookies)

We stayed here for just one night but absolutely loved it. There is nothing I can think of that's within the control of the owners that would have improved our stay. Yes, this is a tiny inn located in a tiny town. It is also quite seriously one of the most thoughtfully appointed places I've ever stayed in all my travels. Wonderful communication from the owners, a great location for our hiking getaway from Denver, and even though there's next to nothing in Crawford itself, I will encourage everyone I know to book here if they're in the area. I would actually go out of my way to stay here again.

One of the nicest places we have ever stayed! They thought of everything you could need, from essentials like soap and coffee to extras like dishes and Band-Aids. They have a keurig in the room and many coffee options and a kettle as well :) Room #1 was nicely decorated, the staff was helpful and friendly and anything less than a 5 star review is ridiculous. Will stay there again if ever in Crawford. They also had amazing oatmeal cookies for us laid out :D

We thoroughly enjoyed our one nite stay. The inn itself is indeed a classic structure made of stone with a lengthy and well documented history. The room was a lovely combination of period decor with all of the modern amenities. We found everything we needed to make our stay very pleasant and found Nathan to be welcoming, friendly, and informative (Nathan even shipped back to us a favorite hat of my wife's at his expense). Just to lend authenticity, we were treated to a herd of cattle being driven down Hwy 92 which we both enjoyed tremendously. We will certainly be back.

This might be the most perfect inn/hotel room we ve ever stayed in. It has a very nice combination of rustic feel and modern conveniences. Very comfortable bed, comfortable pillows. Modern plumbing, electrical outlets, refrigerator freezer (very quiet), Keurig coffeemaker, electric kettle with a nice selection of coffee and teas. Etcetera. The hosts obviously have taken great care to make it comfortable and to provide everything you might need for your stay. There's a pretty good restaurant across the street and a great coffee shop about 1/2 block away.Otherwise, Crawford doesn't have a lot to offer except location: close proximity to the north rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Crawford State Park (hiking and boating), and the cities Hotchkiss and Paonia with wider selections of restaurants and wineries. The stone house inn is on the main street, aka CO 92, and the interior walls of the Stone House Inn are probably not as well insulated as some modern hotels. This results in some noise although traffic through town is supposed to be 25 mph, so it's not like a freeway out there. We didn't find the noise a deal breaker; your experience may vary.

A lovely place across from a good little bar and grill. They thought of everything in an classic old stone farmhouse converted to 2 upper quality hotel rooms with antiques!
