Urabus is your one(and only)stop shop for everything VW Vanagon!! I m so happy that i was referred to John at Urabus. John was able to squeeze me in even though he is super booked out. He diagnosed the problem with ease, ordered some parts and had me on the road back to Texas. My van finally drives the way i have always wanted it too!! If you are considering an engine swap or an upgrade of any kind, Urabus is the place to get it done and done right!

Johnny is the man! As we rolled into Buena Vista in our 87 Westy, we heard a noise from the right rear. We swung by Urabus and Johnny helped us diagnose the problem, fit us quickly into his schedule, and we were on our way with a new wheel bearing.Grateful for his help and ability to fit us in! Great dude to work with!

Johnny is such an amazing dude. We came to him in a bit of an emergency and not only did he do great work to our Vanagon, but he also took us in and gave us a place to hang out while the work was being done. Can't say enough great things about John and his garage. 5 stars to Nitro the dog as well.

John has been working on my vehicles for nearly 5 years. I never take my car anywhere else. He is the first person I refer friends and family to with confidence. He is very honest and extremely knowledgeable, making him the most efficient mechanic I know. His prices are more than fair for the outstanding quality of work. Most recently, he did a suspension overhaul on my 2001 vw golf. He gives us the upfront part costs and estimates how much time it should take him so we at least have a ballpark idea of cost. We dropped the car off and it was ready the next day. Also, we told him the car sounded like it had an exhaust leak and when we picked it up he told us exactly what it was so we could decide to fix it or not with no pressure to schedule another appointment. John has been a lifesaver for our finances in keeping my Golf running. I could have easily spent 5 times as much with other mechanics and dealers, not to mention been without a car for weeks instead of just days. I would be scared to take my cars anywhere else. You will be pleased with his work!

While travelling from Maine I had a fuel line brake in my 1986 vw vanagon on a Sunday morning. AAA towed me to urabus at my request as I'd previously heard of their good work. A very rare Monday closing did not allow John to get right to it, but on Tuesday he passed over many projects to get me back on the road. Promptly assessed the situation as well as pointing out several other issues that I might want to address. No pressure, just honest concern. Great shop, great guy, great work. Several weeks later I can report the old Westy runs better than ever. Got a vw ? This is your man! Thanks John

I've known John for over a year. He is extremely trustworthy and reliable. In the past, I've always been very cautious of auto repair shops for fear I would be taken advantage of since I'm not extremely knowledge with cars. However, John never made me feel that way. He always explains the problem thoroughly, as well as all of the options so my car can be fixed. When I ask dumb questions, he treats me with respect. Best of all, his prices are affordable. I now take all of our cars to John for service; my wife's Honda Civic; my Chevy Traverse; and our family VW Bus. I highly recommend John to anyone needing help and/or service with their vehicle. He will treat you right and help you save money.

I was looking for an alternative to the VW dealership for mechanical repairs on my 2006 Jetta TDI. After reading about Buschmann's, I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. John was super friendly and helpful. He got my car in for basic maintenance just a couple days after I called. During the repairs, John had great communication. He let me know about something that needed to be done (which I had already assumed would be the case based on the condition my car was in) and gave me options, with prices and his recommendation (the least expensive!) I approved buying two tires. When my car was ready, I wasn't sure how I was going to pick it up and in the timeframe I needed, so John actually drove my car up to where I was! When he arrived he let me know that only 1 tire (rather than the 2 we originally thought) needed to be replaced. The service and honesty offered by John was refreshing. It looks like I found an amazing alternative to the dealership and Buschmann's will continue to receive my business!

I took my Jetta to John after a pretty nasty slide on some ice last winter. He was able to diagnose what was going on within a day, was upfront and clear about what it would need to get back in working order, and then completed exactly the work we agreed upon in a timely manner. John treats the vehicles he works on with the same care and respect he shows his customers, Buschmann's Autowerks is the only shop I would ever recommend to anyone with a VW who needs any scope of work done on their vehicle.

John is absolutely wonderful to work with. He is a wizard at diagnosis. We recently purchased an 87 Vanagon that needed a new alternator. John diagnosed the issue, ordered the part and got it installed super quickly. You can tell he is really passionate about VWs and it comes through in his work.

I highly recommend John as an outstanding mechanic. He is highly skilled, versatile and very conscientious. I have complete trust in him to do what is necessary. I took my VW in for repair not knowing exactly the problem and within no time it was diagnosed and repaired!! I will be back for tune-ups as well:) Thanks John!

If you want a random individual to service your vehicle go to a big chain mechanic shop. However, if you want a personable, fun loving guy who cares about you just as much as he cares about your vehicle then there is no other option. John is a outstanding mechanic and friend, he will send you goofy holiday cards every year, invite you to training sessions at his shop, and never forget your pets name. Don't hesitate to stop by and say hello, or check him out on Instagram and facebook. Let him help you start your adventures!

I've had my Forester in John's shop several times over the last several years for maintenance. Good work from an honest mechanic can be hard to find, but that's exactly what I've had from Buschmann Autowerks. I just had a major service done, and everything was done as requested, on budget, and ready on time. You can't ask for more from an independent mechanic, and I can't recommend Buschmann more highly.

We were a bit nervous heading out on our recent road trip from Seattle to Denver. Sure, our Westfalia affectionately named Bianca had a clean bill of health from our mechanic, but we've had that before...a story all Westfalia owners are familiar with...The starter first showed signs of trouble in Orem, UT. By the time we got to Grand Junction, CO we knew we had a problem. As we reached Denver, we got a referal for Urabus and gave John a call. He was on the road, but immediately happy to help and directed us to his brother Jeremy. I dropped in on Jeremy that morning and had a great visit. He assured me that if I brought Bianca in the next morning, they'd hook me up with a sweet TDI starter using a Rocky Moutain Westy / VanCafe adapter plate and have me back on the road by the end of the day.Sure enough, the next day Bianca was back in action. I spent far too much of the guys' time before paying and being on my way. We had a tour of the shop, got a tutorial on failed starters and talked about VWs, the VW community and vanlife in general. I honestly felt like I was hanging with friends--how often do you say that about your mechanic? That day was really a game changer for us. Any residual nervousness faded away and we were able to simply enjoy the trip--and revel in the new high torque starter--and the great service we received. If we lived in Denver, there's no doubt Urabus would be our go to shop. Thanks John and Jeremy!

John is a lifesaver for anyone traveling in the area in an older VW. He had the parts we needed when our Vanagon broke down on Cottonwood Pass. Camping trip saved!

I met the MAN the MYTH the LEGEND on the road just east of Buena Vista struggling with a heavy load inside my vehicle. John and Jamie stopped to render assistance. I was not defeated yet by the effort but I was bleeding and scrapped. John seemed to be impressed by the intensity of the effort and employed his strength and expertise which fit perfectly his character and personality. The world safe again I learned what he did and what he loved doing. He was doing what I would have loved doing in years past: restoring Volkswagen transporters and Westfalia s to the road with more horse power and utility. I loved the three vans I owned over the years and overhauled the engines on two to keep them on the road. Though they were slow and backed up traffic on a hill, for me they provided a reliable platform and fit the purpose for which I use them for. I remember and loved the thrill I got gunning the engine accelerating around a corner going downhill using gravity to propel it forward. I could feel the G s. A Subaru engine swap would have made all the difference and rewrite history of life and adventure in a Volkswagen van. This is what these guys do.My wife and I found the URABUS shop in Buena Vista, took pictures, and checked them out online. Maybe it is too late for me but for someone who has yet to feel the sensation of a finely tuned machine swirling beneath their feet as only a Volkswagen van can do, check out this man and put his expertise to the test. I will remember long John and Jamie and their enthusiasm for life they shared with us on the side of the road.Bill and Donna McCrary

John has always been my go to guy for getting work done on my car. Especially when it comes to the big issues. He's very knowledgable and is a trustworthy mechanic that won't be overcharging you for work that is not needed.

Took my Eurovan Camper in to these guys to have a leak looked at. They took care of it quickly at a reasonable price, explaining there process before doing any work. Went in to pick it up and they showed me around the shop and what projects they had going on at the time. They are very knowledgeable with anything VW van related, and are truly passionate about working on these things. I mentioned that I was looking at selling mine, and they even passed my info along to a prospective buyer for me. I would highly recommend these guys for anything VW related.

URABUS is a joke when it comes to installing carpet kits and any kind of fabrication work. I paid $700 for a new carpet kit and this was the results. When I asked them why this is the way this looks, they explained that this was a "custom" kit and the way it is suppose to look. They also said, bring it by and we will Paint the exposed red metal that is showing. I asked for the manufacturers name of the carpet, 3 times and never got an answer. I wanted to send pics to verify but once they got their money, they stopped responding about it. DO NOT USE THEM

This is a great independently owned shop. I really love supporting local businesses and John was very professional, reasonably priced and very prompt with timing! I will definitely be bringing back my vehicles for future work!
