It is no longer Havana Electric...It was bought out by someone else. It is called Ebenezer's. The five gentlemen working were of no help. I brought my car in prior to their closing time They said they were already closed. None of the gentlemen could answer any of my questions concerning my car and it's issues. They acted like me bringing in my car was an inconvenience even if I had planned on leaving it overnight

I am not someone who posts about anything often. But this shop did such a great job, that I had to post. My car had an issue with starting for about 1 week after I had the battery replaced at Brakes Plus. I took it back there twice, and they couldn't figure it out, and recommended I take it to an electrical repair shop. I found RC Auto, and when I called, the repairman practically diagnosed the problem over the phone. He was friendly and professional in person, found the problem quickly and very affordably, and explained it in a way that I could understand. Not only that, but he wrote down in detail what Brakes Plus had done wrong when they put in a new battery, which allowed me to get a full refund for the fix from Brakes Plus (props to them for being professional as well, and admitting their mistake). Anyway, RC Auto is awesome - the building might not be inspiring, but the repairman seems to know his stuff, does a great job for a low price, and goes out of his way to help.

This place is great! They moved to 472 Laredo #G around Oct 2014 and changed the name to RC Auto Electric. The owner has retired to Florida and his son Rico runs the new shop, as a one man show. The phone number is the same. Hours on the door said 8:30-5:30 Mon-Fri, but I called today, Saturday, and Rico said to come by. He fixed my ongoing electrical problem quickly and easily for a really low rate. He knows his stuff!I went to Havana Auto Electric for years, mostly for reconditioned Interstate batteries, at less than half the price of a new one. I thought I was having problems, and they replaced the battery at no charge (twice!), but it was really my extra equipment draining the battery. They later mapped out all the items. I always had good luck there, and I trust that Rico will treat you well!

RC actually came to my home. He was outside maybe 45min to an hour before standing at my door problem in hand. This had been an issue for approximately 4-5 months and getting worse, know one seemed able to figure it out. He took care of it and I felt he did it for a reasonable price. I can not tell you how I have been singing this man's praises to anyone who will listen. Thank you RC!

I called 3 times I went by there twice every time I was told to drop my car off first thing in the morning so I did this morning. All I needed was a headlight estimate to see why my headlights wont work they told me it would be the next day to do an estimate WHO TAKES TWO WHOLE DAYS TO DO AN ESTIMATE??? They acted like they were too busy to do their job and they did not want my money or my business! So I took my car elsewhere staff is rude I don't know how they're still in business do not come here!!!! If you guys hate your job so much retire tell that old man quit dealing with customers just because your mechanic doesn't mean you have to treat people bad they're already in a bad place coming to you and you treat them worse.......... I don't get it

Brought my '63 Studebaker in for diagnoses because it was not keeping battery charged. The technician immediately grabbed test equipment and had me start the car. He quickly determined that the alternator was OK then found the voltage regulator failing. He went to the parts room and found a compatible replacement voltage regulator for this 52 year car, installed it and the amps meter showed full charge. All of this in a half hour and a charge of less than $50.

I can't speak about anyone else's experience, I can only speak abot mine We were having electrical issues, went to get to another shop that tried to charge us an arm and a leg and made up some BS for something that did not exist. RC came out to our house and diagnose the problem within 10 minutes fixed it right on the spot and was very reliable

Very, very poor customer service! They are not honest with their business practices. To keep this short and sweet I would advise anyone who reads this to choose another auto electric shop! I have had 2 very bad experiences with these folks. I thought I'd give them another try and I ended up very angry after both encounters with them-not disappointed but ANGRY!--IF I WERE YOU I WOULD FIND ANOTHER SHOP!--

The battery in my car was being drained because the clock stayed on after the car was shut off. He diagnosed the problem quickly (a diode in the radio was broken),and tied the radio (and clock) to the ignition, which fixed the problem. (I don't care if I lose radio settings.) Not nearly as expensive as I anticipated.

Great mechanic. RC has done multiple repairs on two of my cars. He has demonstrated accountability and integrity as compared to other shops I've dealt with and not to he's affordable.

Probably the most incompetence I've ever witnessed. Which is saying something for the Denver area So, I bring my 02 Ford PSD in due to a flickering battery dash light - figured it was either the alternator or the fact that the connection to the top of it looked bad / frayed. When I said the idiot-light was flicker, I got interrupted with: "I'm just going to tell you right now your alternator is bad". Anyway, walked outside with him for the free test. He was hooked up with the truck running. I have a bluetooth gauge display which shows voltage for the battery off of the PCM (among other things) and is portable. Figured he wouldn't mind seeing what the computer was saying at the same time, so I bring it out and try to show him. He acts pretty annoyed and won't acknowledge me at all then moves his equipment closer and says: "I just had to move that cause you were standing in my way." That's when I knew I was done here. But, figured we might as well complete the test. Funny thing is: He says, "Your alternator is fine. Everything is fine after stating inside that he guarantees it s bad. I pointed out the frayed cable. He says "sure, it should be fixed". And how much is that might I ask? (note: this is 5 minute tops to replace and a 99 cent part.) He said "$60 and you'd have to drop it off". Wow! And how much to actually replace the cable I asked cause it looks like it's compromised? He wouldn't say, but said they'd need it for the day! LolOh and get this... the guy totally didn't know how to test an alternator at all! He checked the running voltage off the battery and that's it. When I questioned him about the amps, he flips the computer to amps and it reads 30 amps. I'm like, so do you want me to put it under load? "No, it looks fine. It's charging your batter." I told him that alternator is a 160amp, he wouldn't acknowledge and acted confused / embarrassed. Then said "go ahead, turn everything on" which I did and it read 80 amps. Figured he d want to run the idle up etc. But, he wasn t interested in doing any real testing so I left.Ended up fixing it myself. Which, I m not a mechanic but it took exactly 9 minutes start to finish. Pretty confident I did a better job and will go somewhere else to have a real test done on the alternator if the flickering idiot light comes back.

Be very careful.I guess the guys just had a holiday when they saw me coming. The first guy told me it would be 48.50 for the 3 electrical issues I had them look at and then the 2nd guy said, no its 48.50 per issue. Well they charged me for things that required virtually no work at all and for information I already knew. Regarding the wiper motor that didn't work, the guy said, you need a new motor, I said well I know the motor isn't working thats why I had you check it, don't you fix small elec. motors? He said yeah, but that ones solid state...whatever that means...its now being fixed by an elec. motor guy whos not afaraid to actually do work for the money he charges (and by the way, its not solid state). Regarding the starter that one guy said they should check, he told me I needed the flywheel replaced but that they couldn't do it in their shop, well they had speculated that the flywheel was the issue before they even began work, if they knew they couldnt help me why spend the time: I guess they just wanted their 48.50. Regarding the temperature gauge, they put in a new temperature switch, which I had actually just replaced with a new one myself. This didn't fix the problem...48.50 please. So they did fix my turn signal, but I had to tell the guy what to do, the one guy was ready to tell me there was no way he could do anything. Be careful of these guys. they love to tell you how they know everything about cars but they didn't help me much and sure liked charging their 48.50. to the tune of $171 for negligible work.
